Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of my attempt @ quitting smoking...I'm stoked I made it this far (and so is my gf...). Hopefully I won't have to mark said anniversary with a toast. The hope is that this will be permanently part of the rest of my life.

Once I got over the rationalizing excuses and really said to myself that I needed to quit, the easier it became. I mean, I wasn't a super heavy smoker--I smoked a pack a week sometimes longer, but I could feel how deep the dependancy was and that was always the most alarming thing...

Well, it was ok. They ran out of Monterey chicken, whatever in the hell that is, so I had this sliced meat from some part of a cow. Mashed taters. Green beans and this odd fruit salad-y deal. Apples, grapes, celery, some kind of chopped nut and some sweet cream sauce. There was also this cake they said was pina colada cake that was pretty damn good. The cake saved the day.
