Well, actually the DSM-IV diagnosis of ADHD makes one eligible for accomodations under the American Disabilities Act (Pres. Bush 1990). So basically it makes no difference what my opinion of ADHD is, they are within their rights to "label" them how they see fit----hopefully they know their kids/situation better than I do.

But I gotta say, it would be freakin' awesome if ass whuppings cured people of their conditions, whatever they might be :lol

Oh, I know. It just seems silly to me. I have a severely disabled sister - will never walk or speak, or mentally progress beyond the age of one. Because of this it bothers me when I see perfectly normal kids being stuck on meds and labeled as special needs when all some of them really need is some discipline, a better diet, more physical exercise and parents and teachers with more patience :lol
