Republicans hid his records and tried to push him through with 100% partisan loyalty. Democrats could have highlighted this and appealed to cynical independents, but instead they turned into the actual social justice tyrants they'd previously been accused (without as much merit) of being.

I was more troubled by how he handled Kamala Harris’ questions about contacts with attorneys from Kasowitz. His refusal to answer and choice to play games with questions could have been coupled with concerns, like those raised by the ABA, about temperament and fitness to act as a judge. As someone who appears before judges regularly, I can tell you that temperament, evasiveness, and potential ex parted contacts with lawyers are far more worrisome (to me at least) than allegations from 35+ years ago.
