I always thought Sam played like Dak Prescott. I think if Daks game was able to translate well to the NFL, I think Sam has a chance to do good. He will only become better after this year and much more accurate. The game is more accepting to different styles of play than when Colt came into the league. Who knows just my opinions.

At this point, I couldn't tell you. He has a slightly stronger arm, but not nearly as mobile. If he thinks he can run in the NFL like he does in college his career will be over quickly. About the only thing I could see is if he has a Joe Burrow type of jump from last year to this year. Even then at best he is the 3rd or 4th best QB in the up coming draft. He would have to lead Texas to a national title while out playing Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence.

to be a bit more accurate though, it's really not a tell-tale when 'Bama and Georgia offer a prospect these days. Many of their "offers" are really not committable; more of a way of saying they're interested in you.
That said, the kid seems to have tremendous ability and a lot of folks (self included) are happy with the commitment

Agree, but I was specifically thinking of Terrance Cooks and LB, Ketron Jackson at WR and Shemar Turner at DE (all I've read Texas is really recruiting)

Hermans staff is battling -
1) lotta new coaches who haven’t been recruiting these Tx guys for several years;
a) hard to build new relationships when you have to stay home;
2) other coaches negative recruiting Herman saying he’s gonna get fired unless 10-11 win season;
3) coaches who stayed (Herman, Giles, hand, drayton) can’t use our best assets to recruit - Austin, UT campus, Texas Relays.
a) How does Austin compare to Norman or Aggyland on Zoom???

Hopefully new coaches are upgrades at xs and 0s and we win 10 and big fish jump out of other boats into ours. This is assuming we have a season and kids play great w no fans.

100% of guys who play great, work real hard, don't get injured and have NFL frame get drafted. It doesn't matter where they go to school. Jordan Elliot got drafted from Missouri. Adrian Phillips got drafted from Miami. But Justin Zwick did not get drafted from Ohio St.

It doesn't matter where you go but to an 18 year old they think that because Julio Jones went to Bama then they're great at developing talent. Randy Moss went to Marshall and got drafted in the 1st round. Marshall great at developing 4-5 stars? Nah, I don't think so.

I bet he doesn't major in statistics at OSu.

I think there's a lot of neg recruiting going on against Herman; that's a consequence of having a huge turnover in assist coaches. On top of that, I think early playing time in the SEC was probably a big difference maker.

Wiley is probably going to be the main stay as the Longhorn TE and I dont think King beats out Liebrock either, who has 4yrs of eligibility after a redshirt season. If you want a Texas degree, then it really doesnt matter who is on the roster if you can get a valued degree for free.

Auburn, on the other hand, only has only two TEs on the depth chart who both will be upper classmen by 2021: one is a low 3* 6-3/248 TE Junior who has only caught 3 passes in two of three years; the other is a converted soph RB who outgrew the position (6-4/215) and hasnt played TE before. If you believe in yourself and want playing time in a football conference, then Auburn makes sense.

I just don't buy into the OU hype for the B12 title. They will be breaking in a freshman QB, who is talented, but hasn't proven anything at the next level. On the flip side, Texas has a Sr. QB and highly talented experience at almost every position.

Anyway, let all the hype go to them because UT plays better as the underdog.
