When I first started wearing contact lenses, it was back when they were still using thimerosol in the solutions, and sometimes my eyes would get really irritated. One of the girls in my bio lab class, who had a naturally loud voice, asked me why I sometimes didn't wear the contacts and I told her that if I didn't get much sleep, my eyes didn't tolerate them very well. So a few days later I walk into the lab and she booms out, "oh, so I see you got enough sleep last night", and the whole room went silent.
