What are the chances that Kai Locksley transfers to Maryland? Now that his dad is the interim HC.
Extremely unlikely considering he already had a chance to play for his father and didn't do it.
Also, Locksley's father may not even be on Maryland's staff next year when they hire a new coach.
24/7 confirmed that DT Marcel Southall will take an official visit to UT.

Another very important recruit... we have had so much bad luck at DT for recruiting the last 3 or so years.

Re: Hudson

According to TCU's 247 guy, OL Denzel Okafor texted him saying Texas "may have the edge" in his recruitment. The guy also Crystal Balled Okafor to Texas.
Quotes from OL Denzel Okafor of Lewisville (OrangeBloods):
"It's probably not going to happen (a commitment while in Austin). Believe me, I want it (a decision) to happen, but it's probably not going to happen," Okafor said.
"You're right. That's kind of what it is. I'm looking for a reason (to commit to Texas). Charlie Strong a great coach and I may even relate more him more than Gary Patterson," Okafor said. "He's calm, knows what he wants, what he wants to do. He'll get you there. I'm not saying Gary Patterson won't, but Strong has some ways really effective ways. I would love to play for a coach like Charlie Strong."
"With TCU, they're a great team. Some people have been telling me, and I've been believing myself, TCU has done a great job the last few years," Okafor said. "This year, the thing is, their offense, they have a lot of seniors on that offense. They have Boykin, their offensive line is still good, but Doctson is probably leaving. If I become part of the Horned Frog family, I don't know what next year will be, with a brand new QB, a new offensive line, new wide receiver. Would you rather go there and see what happens, or go with a program that's developing currently? I'm seeing that with Texas a little. TCU is a great team, but I'm not sure I want to go there and not know."
"I may want to see what A&M has to offer me," Okafor said. "I have to contact them though."
"I didn't think Texas was going to beat a ranked team like Oklahoma. The fact they did, that shows they're progressing," Okafor said. "All the recruits that are already going to Texas, they're building something up. The team is young, needs to develop, but them beating Oklahoma is a sign of that. That's really getting my interest."

I've read on other boards that the staff is not considering him at all. I think Kyle Porter is your take at that spot.
Many schools not considering him. Odd considering his output this year. I'm sure he'll be one of those players everyone's in a frenzy for once seasons end nears.

We won playing fairly poorly.
We are a better team. We are improving. I can look forward to most of these games without a sense of dread.
Good:
Heard is super quick, especially when moving upfield
I like the play calling. We are keeping things neat and mostly mistake free (turnovers? Gone?)
The run blocking is vastly improved.
We are tackling well for the most part
Lots of kids getting to play; Swoopes has a big role
Bad:
The Dline got pushed around a bit
The pass blocking is bad; Heard should step up but he can't trust that line so he runs out wide whenever in trouble
Heard cannot remember to throw the ball away when he runs towards the sideline
I know it was wet, but can someone please snap the damn ball
We won without being spectacular, does this mean we are mediocre instead of awful?

I don't think he has done anything too stupid this cycle. The only thing I can think of, is when he said DT Jordan Elliott wasn't a priority for A&M and that his verbal offer wasn't committable. Elliott posted a picture a few days later of a written offer from A&M, saying something like "I told you I had an offer" or something along those lines.

This should be a lesson for longhorn fans. We don't necessarily want these 5 star kids with giant egos on the same team. Nick Saban might be able to handle them, but Sumlin and Strong don't have the resumes to do so IMO. Luckily Strong does not appear to be 5 * jerk like Sumlin.
We must have good locker room kids. I am hoping this comes to fruition once Charlie has the personalities he wants. I'm still disturbed by one of our players not understanding the problem with halftime phone use. Maybe this phone stuff needs to go on Charlie's (five or six?) Commadment Board.
Meanwhile, let's get better.

Highlights from Higdon's recruiting chat
- Tren'Davian $#@!son wants to play for Charlie. Texas holds the cards, and they feel the situation is fine.
- Both Jordan Elliott and Denzel Okafor wanted to attend the K-State game, but couldn't due to weather. Relationships are continuing to build. Watch for how often Elliott shows up on campus in the near future.
- Miami doesn't have too many commits we'd go after, 3-4 max.
- The recruits are proud of the way Texas has fought back from a 1-4 start.
- Jordan Elliott will continue to enjoy the process for now. Not often you get 5 paid trips to the universities of your choosing.
- The Texas vs. A&M recruiting battles go in cycles... who will end on a high note? Sumlin can't get out of his own way right now, he is his own worst enemy. Let's see how each team finishes
- Erick Fowler and Rahssan Thornton are the two Fox targets Texas has the best chance of landing. No plans to offer Sci Martin.
-
Things on the OL side of recruiting are coming together exactly the way I thought as we head into November...just gotta close em out
- S Innis Gaines probably won't end up with a commitable offer from Texas by NSD.
- Brandon Jones and Deontay Anderson both need to get back to Texas for a visit. They've gone dark (which isn't too unusual at this point in the season). Texas still believes they are right in the mix for both players.
-
Kyler Murray bought into the lies of Sumlin... Sumlin promised Murray 25 snaps a game. How's that working out so far?
- This should be a full recruiting class. We could end up with ~25 based on expected attrition after the season ends. 5 of those will be OOS guys.
- Hudson, Okafor, Delance, Whaley, Jones, Anderson, Thornton, Fowler, McCulloch, Jackson are the kids Texas will wait on until NSD if need be.
- Staff has not remained in contact with Miami DE Joseph Jackson. He more or less closed off his recruiting after committing to Miami.
- Patrick Hudson will take his OV to Texas, and we will go from there. Andrew Fitzgerald will also be back in Austin (good sign).
- Look for us to ramp up pressure on G Chris Owens if 'Bama's OL coach goes to Miami.
- No plans to sign any JUCO players.
- Texas keeps all options open with in-state kids. If changes happen at A&M that affect their 2016 class... look out.
Some people on OB (just random posters) have speculated that Kyler Murray's issues at A&M could push his former teammate, Gregory Little, towards UT. It's probably just wishful thinking, but it's a happy thought.

Highlights from Higdon's recruiting chat. Important info in this one.
- Tren'Davian $#@!son is not solid. The situation keeps changing, but Texas is on a slippery slope here. $#@!son is "concerned" about the direction the offense is going in. Our chances of holding onto him by NSD are 50/50.
When he committed, TD trusted Strong to get this thing going in the right direction. This offense is not going to alway look the way it is right now. Either TD trusts what CS is telling him or he bails because he doesn't have faith in the relationship...it's that simple.
- Higdon is implying that if $#@!son decommits, "another option" (likely WR Kofi Boateng) has been in close contact with the coaches and will get a Texas offer.
- Texas could land a few flips, but don't look for us to flip recruits to the degree we did last year. Not unless a bunch of things change.
- Things are going very well with Jordan Elliott, Denzel Okafor, and Jean Delance. These three in particular Higdon feels very good about.
- 50/50 chance Justin Madubuike gives us another visit. Tough to say at this point.
- Former Michigan LB David Reese continues to insist he will visit Texas.
- Both DE Rahssan Thornton and DE Erick Fowler will give "a long, hard look at Texas" before all is said and done.
- We have ground to make up with DT Marcel Southall.
you might find this hard to believe BUT NFL GM's overlook all the time the "system" kids come from..that is not a knock on kids...if you have NFL talent they will find you regardless of the numbers...Guys that spend millions of dollars on these kids overlook stats all the time. Just ask Tim Tebow
- Glen Logan and Kristian Fulton will likely not visit Texas. But things are trending upwards with TE Jamal Pettigrew and DT DeAndre-Christmas Giles.
- No chance of landing former Miami commit Sam Bruce. He wants to stay in Florida with his family.
- On Innis Gaines: "Not a direction we are going in at this time."
- Nothing concrete on the Trophy Club kids, Kellen Diesch and Brandon Bowen. They are very quiet. Diesch really seems to like A&M.
- [On DL being the area of biggest concern] "I need to start seeing DL visit Texas as soon as the end of the season arrives. They have guys, and other guys they will offer more than likely but I need to see them start to visit very soon."
- OT Patrick Hudson will still probably visit Texas. Things will progress from there.
- Georgia is the team to beat for Robert Beal. Don't get your hopes up.

He's done a 180 on the Dickson recruitment.

He's currently committed to Georgia and good friends with RB Devwah Whaley, who's considered a heavy Georgia lean.
It gets tricky because the rules state that the moment Curtis hits the football field, his scholarship does count against the roster numbers. See former WR Marquise Goodwin for an example of that rule as Goodwin came in on a track scholarship originally.

I can see a star WR not liking what he is seeing from us right now. With our young and inexperienced OL we are relegated to more run blocking and it's working. This tactic is setting up the passes. The misdirection running game looks to be getting very slick as Heard is ball faking well and making better decisions. Bringing DAje in motion and threatening the opposing Ds ability to contain wide is allowing running room in the middle. It looks good right now but certainly not what some of these prospect wideouts want. "You mean I gotta block and hold the block"
I must say that overall the above is mostly gloomy. Am I being too pessimistic as I thought we might be able to get some flips with things getting better? Some Dlineman have got to be more inclined? Secondary guys as well I would think given the age of that crew?

Im still committed to Texas, Dickson said. The stability of the program (is the biggest question mark)
just people talking about is (Charlie) Strong going to be there? Is (Jay) Norvell going to be there? Is he still going to coach receivers? Is (Shawn) Watson still going to be the offensive coordinator? All that kind of stuff.
I just wanted to see what the official visit process was like with everything going on at Texas, Dickson said. I wanted to make sure that if something happens, I have a place to have my options open, so I can fall back on.
Im just waiting on my parents and talking to them about deciding on signing it (financial papers for UT), Dickson said. We just want to see how everything plays out. Its just a day-by-day process.

please tell me when Willie Anderson was our best player......Before David played his first game, Alvin Robertson was far and away our best player. Then, he was traded for Terry Cummings as David was about to start his career. Once David stepped on the floor, he was far and away our best player.
Willie was at best our 2nd or 3rd best player and even that is a stretch.....as I would put TC and Sean above him.
I know Bass made many questionable moves, with coaching hires, drafted players, and FA signings......but to be honest, we were a small market team with little to no financial wiggle room. IMO, drafting Hughes really set us back a few years (We could have had Dumars, who could have been paired with Robertson to make one awesome backcourt). It also did us no favors that Dawkins injured his hand and his career was basically over before it really started. I believe if Dawkins stays healthy, he would have been a better PG for us on and off the court than that scumbag who threw the no look pass to Elliott against Portland, and then later broke his hand at a night club......Oh, I know his name, but I refuse to say it cause I despise the scumbag so much.

I am not so much disappointed with the loss, as I am the effort. What I saw last night was a turd of an effort. It was like the players wanted no part of that game. I saw no energy, no passion, and no execution on either side of the ball. The team in burnt orange and white looked like they simply didn't care one way or the other.
It is a shame to see a game like that. I can handle a loss, even one filled with mistakes, as long as I see effort, hustle, and desire.
