Wow are you getting smarter and not posting about daily death like you did for the past 6 months? Shocking. I remember when you said I lied about the deaths being a month old. Dumb.

Now go through those possible deaths and filter who actually had a positive test. Bring back that number and then I will help you figure out who actually died from covid.

Just following the advice he got from Trump about how we were going to go from 15 cases to zero cases via a “miracle”

Because Trump is the leader of NY.

NEW YORK (AP) — Riverdale Nursing Home in the Bronx appears, on paper, to have escaped the worst of the coronavirus pandemic, with an official state count of just four deaths in its 146-bed facility.

The truth, according to the home, is far worse: 21 dead, most transported to hospitals before they succumbed.

“It was a cascading effect,” administrator Emil Fuzayov recalled. “One after the other.”

New York’s coronavirus death toll in nursing homes, already among the highest in the nation, could actually be a significant undercount. Unlike every other state with major outbreaks, New York only counts residents who died on nursing home property and not those who were transported to hospitals and died there.

That statistic could add thousands to the state’s official care home death toll of just over 6,600. But so far the administration of Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo has refused to divulge the number, leading to speculation the state is manipulating the figures to make it appear it is doing better than other states and to make a tragic situation less dire.

“That’s a problem, bro,” state Sen. Gustavo Rivera, a Democrat, told New York Health Commissioner Howard Zucker during a legislative hearing on nursing homes earlier this month. “It seems, sir, that in this case you are choosing to define it differently so that you can look better.”

This is sort of a silly argument that overlooks a number of things:

1) What kind of contact tracing did Texas do? None, AFAIK.

2) Texas didn't start doing relatively massive testing until the pandemic was well underway (think months). And yes, doing both testing and contact tracing early does matter, because you want to stop the spread early.

You can do all the testing you want, but if you can't do contact tracing, find the asymptomatic spreaders and isolate them, you're just not being very efficient in reducing the spread of the infection.

Now, I think it's a silly comparison too, because there's no way in hell you're going to get contact tracing done in Texas, so in those instances I think darwinism wins.

2020 US fatality rate should be 8.8 per 1,000 people.

https://knoema.com/atlas/United-States-of-America/Death-rate

.0088 for the year, by the end of the year.

2904000 dead from all causes, before COVID.

200-300k by the end of the year on top of that assuming current stats are accurate and model average hits. Split difference. 250k

+250k.... divide by 330M...

End of year figure will be around .0096

There is your testable hypothesis. Substantially less than that, your "correlation" theory of how we are counting predicted it.

At about that rate or above, you have been deeply mislead by the propaganda you consume.

It is just that simple.

Sooo, three months later we are closing in on 200k, with what looks like a flat, steady fatality rate of about 1k/day for a sustained period.

253 days out of the year gone. 100 days or so remain.

300k by the end of the year makes for over a 10% increase in the death rate from one cause that was not there at the beginning of the year.

We will end up with a fatality rate of about .0097, quite possibly higher, given the "official" death count is missing a lot of COVID deaths due to Republicans playing politics with the data.

US CFR is about 3%

US deaths/million is 500+,

which is 5x to 10x more than well-governed countries with solidarity among citizens.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

;10217331]So how many excess deaths were there last year, before COVID became a thing?

By definition, pretty much zero.

Multiyear moving averages do not tend to change much between years, which is why they are useful in detecting new trends.

Define "excess death rate" from your current understanding.

So no years have excess deaths until now?

Seems like a convenient theory basis :lol

160,000 excess deaths in five months isn't panic porn, it's real as a heart attack.

Not to you, of course.

What are the lives of hundreds of thousands of mere mortals compared to your self-regard and internetz glory? Not worth a fig, apparently.

But they aren't excess deaths. This is where you cross over into stupid narratives and half-truths. 20m people likely have/had COVID. normal death rate even last year was aboutr 170K out of 20M. How many people died as they normally would have yet because they had COVID they were considered COVID deaths because the spreadsheets are all different across jurisdictions? Clearing cases vs listing causes of deaths, a case is cleared by a death, ergo the case gets marked as "cleared by death". Then someone comes along and says "look at all the COVID deaths!"

Again, not saying all, but if you don't know the accuracy you're just taking the nihilist bet.

They are excess deaths.

You don't even know what that fucking term means.

Here is your big chance, for the ultimate ankle bite.

Define that term, with a link that shows it clearly laid out.

[crickets]

So, you have no idea how it is defined. You just know it has nothing to do with COVID, because... reasons :lol

I see you conveniently omitted the smoking gun... I added it for you.

You claiming there were zero excess deaths prior to 2020. SR21 posts a graph that shows there were excess deaths in January of 2019. Now you're telling me I don't know what excess deaths means. :lol

You don't.

if you did, you could provide the definition. You can't.

I can only assume that is because you don't understand the term you are using or the website you are quoting. I find that amusing. And satisfying watching you flail when asked to define a basic term.

Were there excess deaths prior to 2020? You said no, but the data shows there were excess deaths in January of 2018.

One of us doesn't understand the concept. It's not me.

If every year you can tabulate the running average and then figure out how many deaths you have above or below that average, then every year would have a presumptive surplus/deficit of deaths. You said they didn't exist prior to 2020, meaning a whole new category was created just for COVID.

Korea has tested 2m of 50m or 4% of the population. Texas has tested 6m of 28m or ~22% of the population. Texas has half the population while Korea is on about 14% of the land mass of Texas.

Of course the "death of the elderly from pneumonia" is very high but that's just how pneumonia goes.

These studies were memory-holed in the U.S. until independent researchers used global data to rediscover their conclusions. Finally, on August 11, CDC provided age-stratified data, which confirmed what was known in February: 80% of COVID deaths were from people 65 and over, a group that makes up 16% of the population. A review of medical examiner reports confirms that people dying from/with COVID had an average of 4.5 other “contributory factors.” We now know that COVID is not dangerous to young, healthy people. Dr. Fauci knew that in February but recommended policies that treated everyone as equally vulnerable.

Overall mortality among both male and female smokers in the United States is about three times higher than that among similar people who never smoked.1

The major causes of excess mortality among smokers are diseases that are related to smoking, including cancer and respiratory and vascular disease.1,2,3,4

Smokeless tobacco is a known cause of cancer. In addition, the nicotine in smokeless tobacco may increase the risk for sudden death from a condition where the heart does not beat properly (ventricular arrhythmias).5

Tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States - CDC

480,000 tobacco related deaths per year. Obama killed millions. That's 480,000 familes, more than 2x the novel corona virus and it happens every single year.

It's not one year. It's every year. Why did you start in January? Deaths in December 2019 no longer matter? Also, why is a novel virus with no vaccine death rate the same as voluntary smoking and involuntary inhalation of 2nd hand smoke, and why is that impressive?
