Shapiro talks way too fast, seems like a debater, like Hitchens without the clever one liners and polished retorts (and slow, perfect speech pattern and English accent). He doesn't strike me as someone who says things based on facts, but based on popularity of commentary.
shapiro is the dumb person's idea of what a smart person is... at least with respect to his political commentary. he's definitely a smart person, his academic career speaks to that. but his public persona, the political character... not so much

Nothing too exotic there besides the off-label Ivermectin. Looks like you need a prescription for that. Having looked it up and skimmed over a few things, I'd definitely want to talk to my doc before taking it. Everything else there is an OTC supplement or standard advice to mask up and social distance.
I see no info about Quercitin under the "Medical evidence" tab at the link you posted, what does it do for COVID? it's a bit of a red flag for me that FLCCC Alliance would recommend it without including any information about what it does for COVID-19 on its website.
Quercitin is a zinc ionophore, i.e., lets zinc into cells.
I have the full protocol, sans the Ivermectin.
Since I already went through very mild case of covid, I'm saving it for any older relative who may start showing symptoms.

"When I looked at it, I thought it was actually not very evidence based," says Michelle Gong, MD, chief of the Division of Critical Care Medicine at Montefiore Health System in New York City. "It is not something I would recommend for my doctors to do outside of a clinical trial."
The protocol authors push back against the necessity and feasibility of randomized control trials.
There is no time for a randomized control trial right now, says Jose Iglesias, DO, associate professor at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall and critical care specialist at Community Medical Center and Jersey Shore University Medical Center in New Jersey. "Time is limited. We're busy bedside clinicians taking care of patients, and patients who are dying."

I wouldn't doubt you love all those late night shows like Colbert and you have the gall... Bongino at least has some life experience especially as an ex Secret Service member and ex NYPD cop. What's your life experience outside claiming to be a lawyer while wasting 24/7 on ST?
As well, list my beliefs/opinions you claim are so right wing. You want others to perceive myself as you do by labeling me as such. You're a fraud bro.

I was never a liberal tbh. Liberalism turns into progressivism which in turn is nothing more than an ideology to silence others and ends up leading to full on authoritarianism.
However, I did vote for Obama and I did so because I didn't follow politics whatsoever, was in college during his 2008 run, and listened to my boss to go vote because he was paying me on the clock to do so. I was ignorant to politics and the world around me tbh.
I have always been more libertarian if I have to pick a label though I feel like libertarians are somewhat spineless just like progressives. Real liberals, which were basically just patriotic Americans, lost that identity many decades ago when the progressives took over that party.
I hold many positions left, center, and right but your perception of me is clearly one out of dislike. You're like the rest here which is being a tribalist and so be it.

1338865833729114113
Our protocol-specified analysis on the efficacy against asymptomatic infection was not available at the time of the EUA submission. However, we did collect pre-dose 1 and pre-dose 2 nasopharyngeal swabs for SARS-CoV-2 virus and have performed a descriptive summary comparing the number of positive swabs at the pre-dose 2 timepoint in baseline seronegative participants to get an early idea on the possibility of prevention of asymptomatic infection. Amongst baseline negative participants, 14 in the vaccine group and 38 in the placebo group had evidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection at the second dose without evidence of COVID-19 symptoms.
Those numbers are too small to make any conclusion about transmission. Best that can be said is maybe it slows transmission but certainly does not prevent it.

Pfizer overfilled the vials, increasing the US supply.
The Pfizer vials are supposed to hold five doses, but pharmacists have found they have enough for a sixth or even a seventh dose. Putting those into use could significantly increase the United States' scarce early supply of the shot, reducing the likelihood of a "vaccine cliff" this spring as demand outpaces supply.
Manufacturers typically overfill vaccine vials to safeguard against spills and other waste, said Erin Fox, a pharmacy expert at University of Utah who monitors drug shortages. “It’s pretty unusual to have a full extra dose or more though — but it does seem to be there!” she said in an email.
But many pharmacists, left confused without federal clarity, threw away hundreds of extra doses since vaccinations began on Monday. In Utah, Fox said, pharmacists are advised to stick to the FDA emergency use guidelines, which dictate that there are five doses.

American exceptionalism:
Pfizer could provide more than the 100 million doses it promised in its original contract with the U.S. government in the first half of next year—but only if Trump administration officials demand that suppliers of raw materials quickly fulfill the company’s orders. And CEO Albert Bourla is calling on the government to use the Defense Production Act to do just that…. The Trump administration hasn’t done so yet because they’ve focused on providing those materials to vaccine makers that did take federal R&D funding, like Moderna, according to unnamed sources who spoke to the New York Times… Pfizer requested early on that the government award it ‘favored status’ with suppliers of raw materials, but officials were afraid that would damage competing vaccine programs that did take federal R&D money, according to the Times report. Among those companies is Modernahttps://www.fiercepharma.com/pharma/feds-rebuff-pfizer-s-requests-for-speedier-supplies-covid-vaccine-raw-materials-reports

British American Tobacco is getting into the vaccine business, just got FDA approval for human trials.
British American Tobacco has moved a step closer to producing a vaccine for coronavirus using tobacco plants (https://www.theguardian.com/business/2020/apr/01/british-american-tobacco-plant-based-coronavirus-vaccine), as it won approval in the US to begin testing on humans.
The company behind cigarette brands including Lucky Strike, Rothmans and Benson & Hedges said the US Food & Drug Administration had given it clearance to begin a clinical study with adult volunteers.
While large pharmaceutical companies are already producing vaccines, BAT believes its own can be produced in six weeks, compared with the several months it takes using conventional methods.
This, the company claims, is because of proprietary technology that allows elements of the vaccine to gather quickly on tobacco plants.
https://www.theguardian.com/business/2020/dec/16/british-american-tobacco-approval-test-covid-vaccine-humans
Winehole23
12-17-2020, 10:09 AM
BAT also says its vaccine is stable at room temperature, unlike the Pfizer/BioNTech jab (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/dec/02/how-does-the-pfizerbiontech-covid-vaccine-work-and-who-will-get-it) being administered in the UK, which must be stored and transported at about -70C.
The vaccine has been developed by BAT’s biotechnology division, Kentucky BioProcessing (KBP), which has previously worked on a treatment for Ebola and is also developing a seasonal flu vaccine.
BAT said KBP had cloned a portion of the genetic sequence of coronavirus and developed a potential antigen, which is then inserted into tobacco plants for reproduction.
KBP, which is based in Owensboro, Kentucky, says it can turn tobacco plants into “bio-manufacturing factories” capable of producing proteins they would not otherwise produce.
Up to 3m can be grown, harvested and processed within six weeks, meaning the relevant proteins are produced faster than traditional methods, which KBP said could take months.
The company, which was bought by BAT in 2014, says it can also temporarily encode tobacco plants with the genetic instructions to produce specific target proteins.

Social media platforms are letting conspiracy theories about the COVID vaccine spread unchecked.

Research strongly suggests COVID-19 virus enters the brain
spike protein crosses the blood-brain barrier
people with COVID-19 are suffering from cognitive effects, such as brain fog and fatigue.
he SARS-CoV-2 virus, like many viruses before it, is bad news for the brain.
The spike protein, often called the S1 protein, dictates which cells the virus can enter.
"The S1 protein likely causes the brain to release cytokines and inflammatory products,"
when you have the COVID infection you have trouble breathing and that's because there's infection in your lung,
but an additional explanation is that
the virus enters the respiratory centers of the brain and causes problems there as well,"
"Many of the effects that the COVID virus has could be
accentuated or perpetuated or even caused by virus getting in the brain and
those effects could last for a very long time." aka "long haulers"

This modest German Turkish couple doesn’t own a car.
BERLIN — At 8 p.m. Sunday #evening, the phone rang with the call Ugur Sahin, chief executive of the German medical start-up #BioNTech, had been anxiously awaiting.
“Are you sitting down?” Pfizer chief Albert Bourla asked him.
The news that followed was better than Sahin had hoped:
Preliminary analysis from Phase 3 trials of his company’s coronavirus vaccine showed 90 percent protection.
The interim results put the 55-year-old and his co-founder wife, Ozlem Tureci, in the front of the pack racing for a safe and effective vaccine.
Sahin and Tureci celebrated with cups of Turkish tea at home.

Moderna vaccine gets emergency FDA authorization:
The vaccine had an efficacy rate of 94%, which was similar across age, gender, racial and ethnic groups, and participants with underlying health conditions that increase their risks for severe COVID-19 cases.
The most common side effects included pain around the injection site (92%), fatigue (69%), headache (63%), muscle pain (60%), joint pain (45%) and chills (43%).
Moderna did not report any allergic reactions to the vaccine in its clinical trials.
There were three incidents of facial paralysis, or Bell’s palsy, reported in the group that received the vaccine and one in the group that received a placebo shot, but Moderna says it does not have enough information to confirm the vaccine caused the paralysis.
Overall, side effects were rare and occurred in 1% of the group that got the vaccine and in 1% of the group that got the placebo.

Rural Texas hospitals getting the shaft
Not a single rural hospital in this state that prides itself on its country roots received any doses of the vaccine this week, despite such medical outposts serving around 20% of the state’s population, or 3 million people.
Even before the pandemic, rural hospitals in Texas and many other states were operating on “skin and bones” staffing and budgets, Sprys said.
“We’re all exposed all the time,” she said. “We don’t have an isolated COVID wing or staff only dedicated to COVID unlike in larger hospitals. To not be included in the first shipment of vaccines is just so upsetting.”

our government has trouble counting things accurately, so it ended up giving states bad information about the rollout.
The federal government gave some states projections in mid-November that were, an official said, twice as high as the number of doses those states will end up receiving. According to a recent report (https://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/coronavirus/article247935785.html) by McClatchy, a Pentagon system that tracks coronavirus vaccines, Tiberius, had outdated projections in place when distribution began, muddling the process and misleading governors on how many doses their states would receive.
Some states were provided revised numbers in mid-December, according to local officials who spoke with The Daily Beast. But the current projections still are falling short of what states had, for weeks, believed they would be receiving for Pfizer’s shipments in week two.
https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-pfizer-vaccine-rollout-is-causing-confusion-among-states-and-there-is-no-end-in-sight?ref=home
not sure if timing of doses is quite as important as the nurse says, but you're supposed to follow the instructions for best results, right?
But if the state is getting far fewer vaccinations in the next two weeks than the administration of Gov. Ron DeSantis originally planned for, she was worried that she wouldn't get her second dose in time for the vaccine to actually work.
“That’s crazy if we don’t get the next shot in time,” said the nurse, who spoke anonymously because she did not have permission from Memorial West to speak to the media. “The first vaccine only provides 50 percent immunity. If in 21 days, I can’t get the second dose, it will be a waste.”

Only seven of Stanford Medicine's 1,300 residents,
many of whom have regularly been on the frontlines treating COVID-19 patients, made the cut (https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/12/18/948176807/stanford-apologizes-after-vaccine-allocation-leaves-out-nearly-all-medical-resid) to receive the medical center's firs set of coronavirus vaccine doses,
some of which went to health care workers who don't attend to coronavirus patients and

this appears to be what was described months ago about the two-immune system
The first shot (infection) gets reaction from the non-specific innate immune system, while the acquired immune system is not activated
The immune system then starts "acquiring" specific immunity so when the second shot arrives, the acquired immune aggressively attacks and you feel it.
It's the "cytokine storm" of the acquired immune system that puts people in ICU and kills them. :lol

finger tentatively pointed at polyethylene glycol sensitivity for allergic reactions to the Pfizer vaccine:
Dr. Peter Marks, director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, said at a press conference that the allergic reactions had been reported in more than one state, including in Alaska.
Marks also said that a chemical called polyethylene glycol (PEG) that is an ingredient in the Pfizer vaccine - as well as the Moderna Inc vaccine authorized on Friday - “could be the culprit” causing the reactions.

it's the 2nd shot that kicks your ass for a day or two.
this appears to be what was described months ago about the two-immune system
The first shot (infection) gets reaction from the non-specific innate immune system, while the acquired immune system is not activated
The immune system then starts "acquiring" specific immunity so when the second shot arrives, the acquired immune aggressively attacks and you feel it.
It's the "cytokine storm" of the acquired immune system that puts people in ICU and kills them. :lol
Have you taken the shot? Is that the reaction you had?

"That’s the big question that nobody knows," he said."
All it takes is some small amount of virus to be your nose to trigger PCR positive.
absolutely
if this virus plays by basic viral rules.
It is worth noting that it appears this virus upped the ability to infect people
it may even be the virus in pieces these tests are picking up incapable of being transmitted and causing another infection in another person.
it really needs to be emphasized that viruses are very fragile outside of cells. and especially outside of a body. That’s what makes this virus amazing because it quite possibly can be produced in enormous loads andQuickly transmit as an aerosol or in blobs of “water”

black box allocation by algorithm, by a private company (Palantir)
some states have their own algos for internal distribution.
In an effort to achieve its goal of inoculating 100 million Americans by Q1 2021, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services partnered with data-mining firm Palantir to develop a software platform called Tiberius (https://www.defense.gov/Explore/News/Article/Article/2446061/tiberius-platform-aids-covid-19-logistics-delivery/). Tiberius, which covers 50 states, eight territories, the Veterans Health Administration, the Bureau of Prisons, the Indian Health Service, and the departments of Defense and State, allows states and federal agencies to see health care providers enrolled in VTrckS, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) vaccine tracking system. They can also use Tiberius to make decisions about where they send the vaccine within their jurisdictions.
Each Thursday, vaccine producers inform Operation Warp Speed, the U.S. public-private COVID-19 treatment development partnership, how much vaccine is available for the upcoming week. On Friday, Tiberius runs an algorithm that draws on variables including adult population and vaccine uptake and allocates the number of doses available to every state. On Saturday, every state finalizes their orders, and deliveries arrive on Monday.
Operation Warp Speed’s chief of plans Col. Deacon Maddox has described Tiberius’ algorithm as “simple,” “equitable,” and “fair.” According to Maddox, it takes as input “risk-adjusted” manufacturing estimates, a small portion from which is subtracted to provide a “safety stock” and the remainder of which is divided by population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2018 American Community Survey and the CIA’s World Factbook.
While it’s impossible to know exactly which variables the Tiberius algorithm considers in its decisions — that information isn’t public — its reliance on U.S. census data is cause for worry. Because of time constraints, a shortage of manpower, and other confounders, the Census Bureau regularly undercounts populations in certain regions of the country.
“When I hear you’re covering 50 states and eight territories with data determined, in part, from these sources, I want to know what on earth you’re doing when some of those sources just aren’t available,” Keyes said. “Working it out on the back of an envelope? Giving up entirely? The answer might be a good one, and the approach might be the best one they can take at the time, but it’s worrisome that the answer isn’t, as far as I can tell, known.”https://venturebeat.com/2020/12/19/covid-19-vaccine-distribution-algorithms-may-cement-health-care-inequalities/

New Evidence Suggests COVID-19 Can Directly Enter The Brain
Researchers may be one step closer to unlocking the mystery of
brain fog and "COVID dementia" caused by the coronavirus.
Evidence tying COVID-19 to a wide range of neurological effects (https://www.huffpost.com/entry/covid-19-brain-neurological-issues_l_5fd1248ac5b61d81b33b7d78)continues to grow.
And now, a new animal study suggests the virus is capable of directly invading the brain.
The effects could be serious, leading to brain fog and something researchers call “COVID dementia.” the S1 “spike” protein that studs the SARS-CoV-2 virus is able to cross the blood-brain barrier,
the spike protein could detach and circulate, which would mean that many of the neurological effects we blame on the virus are actually due to those freed proteins,
many individuals infected with COVID-19 experience a kind of
mental fog, (https://www.cuimc.columbia.edu/news/even-mild-cases-can-cause-covid-19-fog) struggling with attention issues, fatigue and forgetfulness.
A small study in France (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7445491/) found that nearly 35% of patients who’d been hospitalized with COVID-19 were
struggling with memory loss months later.
we can’t tell the long-term effects, because we haven’t had enough time with the virus yet,”
33 people in Germany who died from COVID-19 found that more than half of the patients had evidence of SARS-CoV-2 in their noses and their brains, suggesting the virus had directly entered.
growing range of neurological effects that appear directly linked COVID-19 infection, such as clotting (which can cause serious brain injuries).
It is also possible the brain sustains damage when an infected person’s immune system kicks into overdrive.

roundup of info on the various vaccines at the PLOS absolutelymaybe blog:
Main takeaways about Covid vaccines so far
There are important, often major, differences in the characteristics and effects of the vaccines.
2 vaccines have been convincingly shown to have high efficacy against getting sick with Covid-19 – BNT/Pfizer’s and NIH/Moderna’s.
There is a material difference in the rate of adverse events reported between those 2 vaccines:
Most people had adverse events after the BNT/Pfizer vaccine, but they were generally not severe;
NIH/Moderna adverse events were more frequent and severe – severe adverse events were common.
There are too many question marks around the trials of another 2 vaccines to be confident about results – Oxford/AstraZeneca’s and Sputnik V.
2 inactivated virus vaccines from Chinese are reported to have good efficacy and very low adverse events, but the data to substantiate that isn’t public. Other types of vaccines anticipated to also have low rates of adverse events don’t have phase 3 results yet either, but could be public in the next few weeks.
We don’t know to what extent being vaccinated with any of these vaccines reduces the risk of a person spreading Covid-19 if they don’t know they’re infected – but the vast majority (https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-03141-3) of virus transmission is from people with symptoms.
We don’t know much about the effects of these vaccines in young children, for people on immunosuppressant medication (including steroids and cancer medications), and in pregnancy and breastfeeding. (A trial of Moderna’s vaccine in people with cancer is being discussed (https://twitter.com/HelenBranswell/status/1340350960066039809).) We don’t know how long immunity will last.

Biden better take a good look at what happened and see how important our abilities are and where our weaknesses are in biology. And this anti Science anti expertise mentality has got to end. Its ok to question if you actually understand what you are talking about, but when Brix has to come out and state Trump is very competent in his understanding of this problem.... we have a problem. Fckn fool had it laid out for him from Obama's task force and he just neglected it and it led to way too may people dying and getting sick for a supposed world leader in molecular biology and diseases. It was/is deadly and embarrassing.
Mostly agree with all of that, but w/o Senate control,
with the Repug Senate blocking what Dems propose to be best people for Exec branch,
with Repugs blocking budgets with expenditures needed in the areas you list.
Repugs have polluted govt, "burrowed in", with stooges, moles to spy on Dem activities, and to scuttle everything the Repugs want scuttled.
With DINO Manchin primed, even Dems winning 2 GA Senate, Manchin told Fox viewers he would block everything Dem that Fox viewers don't want. Fox viewers, under 5M viewers, blocking the government of 330M people?
Blue Dog Democrats, waving fiscal responsibility flags, will vote the House Repug to block spending.
America is fucked and unfuckable.

This is a really stupid narrativeThe Trump Administration has been really stupid. Apparently had no plan for distribution and infrastructure and poor coordination with the states.
Just pitiful, lives in the balance, no urgency.

Right now it’s simple math. It can certainly backfire or not, we’ll see in the next few months.

100 million by the end of the year --> became 40 million -- > became 20 million --> became 2-4 million
Pfizer has millions of doses ready and waiting to be requested, what's the hold up?

That ultra frigid Pfizer transport is a bitch. Moderna for the win. Oxford one only needs fridge temps. Beginning of the end.
"Glass half empty" crowd is always miserable. Posting 24/7 on this site does zilch. Go volunteer or something.

In the not too distant future, you will be getting vaccinated at CVS and Walgreens.Somewhere between April-September, depending on how it goes. Another 300,000-500,000 people might die in the meantime.
Of course, you probably believe the Trump administration's rosiest estimate. They have such a great track record prognosticating so far, why wouldn't you? :tu

The Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine has 3 key advantages despite lower efficacy rating
It also comes with a few key logistical advantages that could be a game-changer.
It's cheap to produce (https://theweek.com/speedreads/951497/oxfordastrazenecas-covid19-vaccine-shockingly-cheap), and
unlike the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine doesn't require (https://twitter.com/TurnbullWhitby/status/1344245203549499394) ultra-cold temperatures for storage, which will make vaccine distribution easier, especially to rural communities.
Finally, the gap between the first and second dose of the vaccine can be as long as 12 weeks (https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-health-coronavirus-britain-vaccine-ha-idUSKBN2940M7?taid=5fec87f954859c000143bc32&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter),
which means more people in the U.K. can receive an initial dose at an earlier stage, giving them some form of protection before the second.
