Then you better pray that Mack doesn't get his third Big 12 championship in 15 years. Am I the only one who thinks this asshole is keeping his job? A new 2015 name that has been in touch with Applewhite recently is WR Ryan Newsome of Aledo. He's alreadly been offered by TCU and OU is expected to offer soon. LSU's track program is also supposed to offer. He's mentioned he grew up a huge fan of Texas and a UT offer "would change everything completely." Kid had more than 1,100 all-purpose yards halfway through the high school season.

Update on S Jamal Adams from 24/7...Ohio State was never a favorite to land him so it's not a huge deal, but he did cancel his official visit to Columbus this weekend. It's likely he won't re-schedule that one. The only official visit he has left is Texas and that could be for the Oklahoma State game or the staff may want him to come in for banquet weekend once the season ends. Word is UT has gained a ton of ground on Florida in recent weeks and they're possibly neck-and-neck at this point. Florida struggling has obviously been a big help.

Also Per 24/7- Coppell 247Composite five-star defensive end Solomon Thomas visited Ohio State this past weekend on an unofficial visit and after speaking with a source close to his recruitment, it sounds like things have been shaken up a bit.
Before the visit it appeared to be a two team race between the Longhorns and Stanford, but the Buckeyes have made quite the impression on the blue-chip 2014 defender.
"The visit went very well," said the source. "Great campus, facilities, coaches and culture. He loved it."
When I asked the source if Ohio State is now a serious contender for Thomas' services, he said there's no doubt about it and that the Buckeyes will be a major player from here on out.
Currently Thomas doesn't have any other visits planned, although he told Horns247 he would like to get down to Austin one more time before the season ends, if possible.
We also expect Texas to receive an official from Thomas, but he won't be taking any official visits until after his season at Coppell concludes.
Once those officials are taken, expect him to make his decision. There's also a chance that Thomas, a US Army All-American, could announce at the game, but that definitely is not set in stone.

I dunno, Case has had some extremely stupid and concerning interceptions the last two games. He's pretty fortunate that it didn't bite him in the butt against OU. And I think Case plays better when he doesn't feel pressure on his back, that someone could take his job. Once Ash is healthy and ready to play, I think Case starts resorting to trying too much, like he usually does, and doing stupid crap.

I thought Tcu figured out the Texas offense in the second half, they stuffed the run, and shoed a defensive look that caused Case to audible into a pass play they were waiting forand that is where the ints came from.
Over the next two weeks the coaches need some new audibles installed to keep the defense guessing. I do agree that with Ash at 100% this offense would be really tough to stop.

My biggest concern would be that whenever Ash was playing, Texas decided not to rush the ball as much. It seemed like Malcom Brown did not even get in the game when Ash was playing. If they stick to running first and passing second like with McCoy, I would prefer Ash because he is way more accurate and has a much stronger arm.

This information supposedly comes from the Alabama side and she wasn't here visiting her daughter-in-law or looking for a "vacation home." If there is follow-up info posted on Monday, I'll let y'all know.

I'm not sure Texas fans would be excited about that. He was "coach-in-waiting" at one point, lol, so I guess he's a "candidate" in the most technical sense of the word (but a highly unlikely one).

“I liked it a lot,” Newsome said. “It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it a lot. I liked the atmosphere. It was just a great visit. I also really liked the way they used Daje (Johnson) and I think that’s how they might use me.”
“They told me they want to come to a playoff game to see me more,” Newsome said. “They told me about how they watched my film throughout the week and they really liked everything they saw. They’re going to come watch me play some tough competition.”

I think he’ll end up there, I just don’t know when. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was pretty soon though. He’s had Texas on the mind. I’m pretty sure he wants to be a Longhorn.”
“He may just want to see a few more places and take in the experience some more,” the source explained. “You only get to do this once and he knows that, so he is trying to enjoy it. I’m pretty sure he already knows where he wants to go in his heart though. I’m thinking that decision has already been made.”

Good offer. Saw this quote from him yesterday, but didn't think it was worth posting:
"I like Baylor and I like what they do on offense and how their coaches run thing," Kirk said. "I would definitely consider Baylor as much as other schools if the offered, so I would probably look into taking a visit and seeing what Baylor is all about. We'll see how the next few months go, but I like that he hired Rudy T and was behind Clutch City in Houston back in the early 90s and then helped bulid Reliant when the Texans were founded. It sounds like he's very exicted about leading plans for the new basketball arena as the Erwin Center should be demolished in the next decade to make room for the new medical school.

Is ATM football the best program in Texas, must disagree since with a heisman quality qb ATM has wasted these years and not competed for a NC, or for that matter has not won there conference. Without a conference championship I have a hard time placing ATM over UT as a program as a whole. But without a doubt the gap is closing and closing fast and it will be interesting to see i ATM can continue with this progression after JM leaves for the NFL.

They'll beat Georgia State to get five and then they'll lose to South Carolina and FSU to end the year. Coaching carousel will be awesome if Florida, Texas and USC are all open. I'm confident he won't be Texas' next coach, but I think he's a realistic possibility at defensive coordinator.
Florida is out of it. It's going to be a race between Texas & Texas A&M.
I'm not one to tweet recruits, but Jamal Adams needs to see that picture.
I don't know if Florida is definitely out of it in Adams' mind, but his recruitment has taken a hard turn towards Texas recently. I don't see him making a decision until coaching situations are set in stone and he can evaluate.

I'd love for Muschamp to come back as DC.
Just did some random thinking that led to some thoughts that I feel pretty strong about. #1 If Texas had Winston at QB we would be undefeated. (I promise I won't mention that "what If" scenario again) #2 If Mack coaches the team to a big 12 championship, there's no way they force him out. Now what I am not for certain about Is how I feel about Mack coming back despite if we so happen to win the big 12 Championship.
You could even say if Diaz was fired after the Alamo Bowl we would be undefeated.

And that's a home game which just makes things worse. I wonder what the attendance will be like considering that's Thanksgiving weekend.

I just don't see this happening. As of right now, my opinion is Texas finishes the year 2-2 with losses to OK State and Baylor. The stats say Texas should win tonight by a TD or so, but there are several reasons that make me think this could be an ugly one; West Virginia plays much better at home, unfamiliar environment, rowdy crowd, it'll be cold, etc. Lose tonight and I expect the "Mack is coming back" talk to fade quickly. He can't drop this one.

Yeah I understand and completely agree with what you're saying Floss. Basically it's nearly impossible that we win out so based of that probability... Mack won't come back. But I wanna know how do you think Mack will be handle if Texas so happens to wins out, even tho its unlikely? I don't think they can bring themselves to push him out. I think right now somewhere someone is hoping we lose 2 more games just to insure Mack's departure, because without those losses U can't be certain he's gone. I know I'd hate to have to make that decision.

The result could be A&M pursuing Briles, so a loss could lead to an upgrade. We'll see.

I do, but I can understand if someone disagrees with that opinion. I don't know if A&M would seriously pursue Briles (because he has a large buyout and they could attain Morris from Clemson), but that possibility is why I have mixed feelings about Sumlin potentially leaving for another job. Briles is my #2 behind Saban.

I'm on this side as well. I think the momentum created from losing to BYU and Ole Miss is unstoppable despite Robinson helping the defense so much. I would hope if Mack somehow won the conference and got to the Fiesta Bowl, that he'd take that opportunity to retire gracefully and not make a mess. But like I mentioned earlier, I don't think it gets to that point.

QB/ATH Jon Randall Belton from West Monroe (La.). I was told that he's hearing from Alabama, LSU, Texas and TCU among others. TCU seems to be the leader right now because of the sister.

Never said Briles was a bad coach, that what he's done is unimpressive, or that he wasn't as good as Sumlin. An upgrade is a different thing. I'll take Sumlin over Briles personally, if for nothing other than not changing what we have going. But I think Briles would be successful at A&M. Sumlin is recruiting better than anyone in A&M history and has us way ahead of our projected pace in the SEC. Do not want to lose him.
