Jefferson to texas surprised me. Mack decommitting was expected. But Murray to texas? I would bet money he doesn't go there.

Not saying the Kyler and Kevin Murray rumors are false but they're quite hard to believe until Kyler himself suggests that he'll visit Texas or rethink his process. That would put the wheels in motion to him choosing another school and until then it's hard to think he's anything but aggie.

More decommits or A&M targets committing to Texas wouldn't surprise me at all. We haven't had DC for three weeks. Malik is such a big deal because it's one of the first big recruits to choose the sips over us in a long time. It's very telling of how recruiting has gone for both programs over the last few years. That being said, Kyler is not going to Texas, period.
I don't think we are out of it with Mack yet. Sheffield should still be ours. Unless Sumlin royally fucks up his DC hire, of course.

Inside Texas also mentioned the one big roadblock is the recent commitment of WR Christian Kirk and the fact that he's an early enrollee. If Murray does decide to de-commit, he wants Kirk to have the opportunity to look around. I'm assuming that's why all of the rumors suggest this would go down pretty quickly if it happens. The report also mentioned Texas has been pushing the Malik/Mack/Murray angle hard to all parties.

I've only been following recruiting for a handful of years, but Mack is one of the worst I've ever seen. The only surprising thing about his decommitment was that it came the same day as the Jefferson announcement. I thought it would take a day or two at least. That guy changes his mind every 5 minutes.

Kyler is obviously looking around. A huge % of recruits at least second guess their decision at some point. Remember Kyler is TIGHT with Mack, Malik and Lodge and back when he committed he thought they'd all end up together - now he is the only one committed to A&M. You can discredit all the reports but where there is smoke there is fire. Still great chance he sticks with A&M.

I think that Kris Boyd is the most likely to be a silent commit out of that group. And if so then you know his brother is along with him as well, so that's 2 spots right there. The last person is a toss up but it definitely should belong to one of the others that you've listed.
Boyd is obviously one of them.

I'm not making projections of these guys going to Texas. It was A&M site that reported Kyler was talking to Texas' coaches regularly. He is unlikely to go to Texas (very unlikely) but let's not be naive and say he is not looking around. I would just say Texas has great shot with Mack and is prob a longshot with Lodge or Murray. If I had to guess Mack-LSU, Lodge-Ole Miss, Murray-farmers.

With how important it has been for Mack to play with his friends, it's hard for me to see him going to LSU. I feel like Mack wants to be apart of whatever's hot at the moment and after Kris Boyd commits and other dominoes fall it'll be too tempting not to jump on board, IMO. We already know that Malik is a big draw for him and Malik has full intentions on recruiting him to Texas. I think the top 2 he listed is smoke and mirrors. Now suppose we do get Daylon in the fold, that'll be another impactful commitment that will force Murray and Lodge to seriously consider Texas. At that point, anything can happen.

The funny part about it is he talks about wanting to be of high character and class while publicly ripping our coaching staff. A bit contradictory.
Aggies can take it that way, I saw it as a kid bragging about having Strong as his mentor. But I can see Aggies thinking that it's a tweet about Aggies since all Sumlin has shown is little character as a leader and not having a hold of his asylum. Love how everything that I've read is Aggies bashing the kid but nobody has ever backed up Sumlin, shows a lot from the Aggies fan base.

I wouldn't call it "publicly ripping" A&M or something worthy of labeling him as "classless", "pussy", etc. It's not like he got on Twitter and directly called Sumlin a liar, and that opportunity was definitely there. I think A&M fans are understandably hot because Malik laughed at the Terminator GIF blowing up Kyle Field and Mack de-committed due to Malik's decision. Nothing to see here, imo.

Well I'm sure that was his intention. I'm sure, if possible, he would have his guy the day after Snyder was fired. But as we all know, bonuses are generally realized at year end. Kris Boyd almost certain to pick Texas

Yes A&M has been beating Texas in recruiting, but recruits are seeing that the top DCs out there don't want to hitch the wagon to the Sumlin train and they are seeing that the last few classes for A&M full of 4 and 5 stars is not yielding results on the field.

I've seen a few horns say this, but I get the feeling like he was a horn all along.
Seems like both sides thought he was looking for a reason to join the other side the whole time. I do think it's very possible his family would have won out in the end no matter what the DC situation was like.

Even Aggie sites were reporting his mother loved Strong/the program all along the process. Not to take away from it all, but it just seems like that played a huge role (as it should, IMO).

Ok, back to recruiting stuff. I'm sure there will be another celebration when Boyd picks the horns in 2 days.
We don't celebrate over typical pickups. We leave such celebrations to younger brother, tbh.

Fellas...FYI I updated the first page of this thread to show all offers that Texas has made for '15, '16 and '17. I like the way Inside Texas and Scout have their respective offer boards laid out, so I basically copied those. We're no longer going to see an entire recruiting cycle with only 30 offers, so I figured this would help everyone keep up. I'll add film if I can later on.

FYI Guys I know at Gilmer say Ags have been recruiting Boyd HARD. Don't let the message board fodder from Ags that they aren't recruiting Boyd since he isn't a priority - not true at all, he is a top priority for FSU and Baylor as well. Inside Texas already said Strong will hold a spot for Boyd until the end so space not an issue as they view him as a must get.

He's good friends with Josh Walker, Freshman LB at A&M. Walker went to Gilmer.

I wonder if it's a sign A&M doesn't feel good about Sheffield, so now we're seeing the late push for Boyd.

My money is on Bama
IF, he does chose Bama, it would mean that Bama has come into Texas and taken the top Safety and the top Corner in the state. Is that what the aggsy were wanting when they joined the SEC?
Oh that's right, they don't care who prison rapes them as long as it isn't Texas, Oklahoma, Tech or Baylor.

I was just looking at what Bama fans think of their chances with him and it seems like they have a bunch of DBs committed and very few scholarships left. Florida St thinks that they are running third. So I think that he goes to A&M, it's the smart think for him to do. Play in the SEC and start from day one. Of course, the one thing working against A&M is the lack of DC but I'm sure that they'll get one at some point lol.

Bama IMO. Saban is not afraid to bounce lesser recruits if a better option comes along. And more notably, if it was A&M, why would he not wait to see who the DC is? A&M would hold a spot for him.

Dead period is stupid, the one time when these guys have the time to sit down with schools and really get to know each other and the NCAA in their infinite stupidity says no you can't have contact. If someone was to say make it from 12/23 to 1/2 then I'd understand, that is the holiday season and it gives them a chance to be with family but for a whole month does no one any good. It's a disservice to both the kids and their families and the schools.
After hearing the latest news on Boyd (that he will be announcing his top 5 on Jan 1st :rollin ), I will officially be taking a break from recruiting news for a while.
How do you go from making your commitment on X-mas Day to just releasing your top 5 on new years day, lol?

CB Davante Davis of Miami, FL told 24/7 today he already knows where he's committing. He talked briefly about the way Strong recruited the state of Florida while at Louisville and hinted at other recruits attending school with him. Looks and sounds good for UT right now. We'll find out on New Year's Day.
“The relationship I've built with the coach,” Davis said when asked for the biggest reason he's picked a school in advance of his decision. “I've built up a lot of trust with that coach.”
