There is never a good loss. The problem with being at Texas is you are expected to always be the better team. The last time I thought it was a good loss was the 2009 national title to Alabama. I thought we were the better team, but when you lose your QB like we did and we still fought in that game and tried to keep it competitive, well that was a loss where I came away proud of Texas for the fight they showed.

Even if we did understand KStates game plan it would not have mattered.

Scipio also failed that the D line did not penetrate on passes, and while they stayed stuck on blocks did not stay in their lanes giving a QB huge lanes to run. Also our we flat out could not tackle their QB with anyone on the D front. He treated them like a retirement home game of chase.

I think there is tremendous benefit to having a coach long term, I believe that Texas talent can overcome a lot as long as we have enough of it and strong has shown despite the results on the field that he can get them here. Now he needs to show the same eye for talent in the coaching ranks and get some help, cause bama has about 6 head coaches on staff. I want to win as much as the next guy however; I don't see anybody better than strong at present, let's not doom ourself to struggle and strife just because we are in the thick of it. I fear that due to our hierarchy's short term status, they will have a short sighted solution. I say stick it out, do what we can to bolster the coaching, let strong bring in talent, keep evaluating candidates until either strong puts his job out of reach, or a clear better choice emerges that can step into the best situation possible under the circumstances.

He's about as real as they come, outside of Saban or Meyer when it comes to coaching IMO. Plus he knows UT which is Big! But you have to be for sure correct... I'd throw a feeler at John H and see what happens first. Herman lost to Navy, who's 5-1 and top 25 on the road. SMU happens sometimes, especially with the injuries he has. Hell he's running Ward out there with a bum shoulder who can't throw more than 20 yds right now. He's 19-3 at UH and beaten some pretty good Teams. Sure you want a more seasoned coach, but i don't see it happening.. Dabo's going Alabama after Saban. He's probably not coming to Texas, but sure you ask. Who else?? UW coach is sticking in the NW. Texas just cant get a coach by being "Texas" like most people claim. To much crap behind the scenes.

Agree 100%. How many more games can Herman lose and still be the hot commodity that he is right now? He's probably got 1 more coming in Louisville. If he loses 4 does his star lose some luster? I agree Charlie's time is up, just not completely sold on Herman.

He described the KSt. game as a bunch of missed opportunities in a close game. KSt. fumbled at the goal line while Wheelergot lucky to even touch the ball as he was falling down before the "tackle". They could have blown us out! They tried to let us back in the game 2nd half.

Charlie looks at film and watches a defensive lineman get pushed to the outside as the QB steps up and calls it a missed opportunity? Our D lineman took an outside route and sold out allowing the KSt olineman to easily push him well out of the play. The "opportunity" for a sack was lost. The DE made no attempt to cut back in, he got easily ridden out of the play? WTF? This is delusional. The DE lost contain, had no chance for a sack and ended up 25 yards away from the ball moving away from the ball...

Charlie says we over pursue during a play and there is a KSt hat on almost every defender. We are stuck to blockers while pursuing? If we can't get off blocks, how in Gods name can we even find the ball carrier?

Charlie watches a KSt. long pass play go incomplete. Our defender never turns his head back and happens to get his hand on an bad under throw. Charlie says great play getting a hand on the ball. Charlie? The defender was beat, he never turned around, could have even been pass interference. Does Charlie understand it is possible to get a good result from a very bad job... luck, the other team screws up. Don't call a bad play a good play JUST BECAUSE OF THE RESULT!

They played some of the old Cotton Bowl win over Roger Staubach. I was hoping to get more of those. The 15-14 win over Pig was delicious. Overall it's pretty crappy though. 1. Sports that don't get on t.v. that much or at all.
2. Weird RTF bullshit.
3. Sideline reporters.

Things it gets wrong:

1. Holy shit the commentary during football games it horribad.
2. Programming the same fucking classic games all the fucking time.
3. Lowell Gallindo.
