I have confirmation that Tennison was doing cocaine with a group of guys at the prom at Bullard. What a fucking dumbass...potentially throwing away a full ride for some blow.

Does the staff know?

I haven't seen anything on social media. Hopefully this is an isolated incident of a kid just experimenting/giving into some peer pressure at the prom and not something he dabbles in on the regular.

Cocaine is not the type of drug you just dabble in because if peer pressure. These kids need to google Len Bias......he is a dumb ass and I want no part of him in Austin.

A few notes form 24/7...

-Coach Jean-Mary will be in Florida on Monday visiting LB Dylan Moses.

-the talk that UT is sliding. or has been eliminated, in the recruitment of LB Baron Browning if false (Inside Texas has a report saying the same).

-while visiting Plano East last week, the coaches liked what they saw out of OL Casey Verhulst. He is now communicating with Coach Mattox.

However, things are expected to go smoothly and there isn't near the worry like there was with the Florida prospects or Lampkin.

BARON BROWNING RESET

Sometimes I have to pick up the faint of heart recruitnik by the scruff of the neck and shake some sense into him. With rumors on other sites circulating Texas is losing ground on the Kennedale 5-star, this is one of those times.

A&M sites aren't going to have good information on this. A&M is out of it. Keep in mind negative Texas recruiting information has the same value on their boards as positive A&M recruiting information, of which there's little.

The TCU guys aren't getting their information from my source, and there isn't a better wealth of information than the person I talk to.

If you haven't heard, the prevailing notion is this is a TCU and UCLA battle. This was news to my source.

"I'm glad you called. I don't keep up with that stuff. I'm learning a lot (laughs). Baron's still wide open. He released his top 10 and that's about it. He doesn't have a leader. I can tell you Texas is right there. He wanted to go to the Spring game and was trying like crazy to go, but something came up with the family."

He would go on to tell me what happened. Basically something unexpected came up and it was stated it would be best if he was close to home. He was still trying to go to Texas despite this situation arising. "Him still trying to go to Texas should tell you a lot. Hell, me calling you should tell you a lot. I know there's other stories you could be chasing."

Indeed. I was also told some things I was asked not to share that strengthen my belief that Texas will be the team to beat when it's all said and done.

Browning has stated he may make a decision before the season but my source discounted that. "I doubt he does. He's going to take all five official visits, what's the point of making a commitment? He'll also go to Ohio State, Notre Dame, Clemson, and Alabama this summer. Like I said, he's open."

This source raves about Charlie Strong and loves what he's building. I've mentioned before how happy he was for Strong when he beat OU after the horrendous week prior.

You may recall these quotes from Justin right after Junior Day. Baron himself stated, "We had another good talk with Strong as we always do but this time both of my parents were with me and he really impressed them and my parents aren't the type you can show some facilities and impress them. They want to know about the network, the alumni, the opportunities, academic advisors. They were blown away."

I had totally forgotten about these quotes and I was still optimistic on Browning to Texas. In talking to Justin about the conversation I had on Thursday, he reminded me of Baron's glowing remarks to him surrounding his visit.

This one is positive on all fronts.

I didn't feel it was my place to ask about the potential UCLA/GA situation for Baron's older brother. I'm supposed to go see the Brownings this month and may broach that subject.

I was also asked to keep some things 'off the record' that only make me feel more confident about UT's chances. That's happy hour fodder.

Tangentially, I love what Strong is going to do with Malik this season. Basically the football field is going to be one big freestyle for Jefferson, where he'll have the freedom to hunt and kill as he sees fit. Normally a coach would have to shelve the idea of doing this long term because good luck finding someone to replace 46, but Browning would be the natural replacement for this. When Browning says he hasn't talked to Texas about how he will be used I'm reminded of a friend of mine's favorite saying, "I can show you better than I can tell you."

LATEST ON LONGHORN ETX COMMITS

a. Major Tennison

"Coach Traylor stopped by Bullard this week and he talked to my coach for a while," Tennison said. "Everything is still good with the Horns."

Despite websites proclaiming he's wavering, that's simply not the case. But like we've told you before, Strong tells commits to take those visits. To go see what other schools have to offer. He's crazy like that. It's a quiet confidence he exudes that players and parents pick up on and find endearing.

Tennison recently added Georgia and Florida offers. Both are trips he might take this summer.

"We will probably go see Georgia pretty soon, but no plans as of yet," Tennison said. "We will make it down to Florida at some point as well."

At the end of the day, Major loves Texas. He loves coach Traylor, the school, and everything the university has to offer. But he also wants to make sure he'll be used properly in this new offense. And I don't blame him. He's been assured even if he doesn't see Caleb Bluiett or Andrew Beck catch a lot of balls this fall, that's no indication of how he'll be used. He's different than those two. He's different than any tight end Texas has had in years.

Gilbert has no problem utilizing the TE position. He just needs a weapon like Major. As long as the Tennison family understands this, I feel strongly confident he'll be a Longhorn by NSD 2017.

b. Damion Miller

One of the top wideouts in 2017, John Tyler's Miller, received a visit from Jeff Traylor this week. And as we've stated since his Junior Day and Spring game visits in the last few months, the 4-star touchdown maker is still all Texas.

"Everything's cool," said Miller. "I'm still solid as ever."

I'll see Damion in person next Tuesday to catch up with him, 1-on-1. Always want to put my eyes on teammates Bryson Smith, Tre Allison, and Jantavious Mosley. As usual, the Lions are loaded for another playoff run in 2016.

c. Lagaryonn Carson

Nothing new to report here on the 5-star DL from East Texas other than coach Traylor stopped by Liberty-Eylau to see him this week. Besides Sam Ehlinger, there might not be a more solid pledge to the Longhorns. But that's not stopping other schools from pursuing. Namely, Texas A&M. I understand being diligent in your job, but how many times can the kid tell the Aggies 'no'? And A&M's DC John Chavis won't listen. Talk about wasting resources.

I'll see Carson on Monday for a more in-depth 1-on-1. Looking forward to seeing the big fella with a million-dollar smile.

3. THE X-MAN TALKS TEXAS

UT's newest commit, Xavier Newman, is a happy young man.

The Desoto 4-star and Opening invite is a 6-foot-3.5, 280-mound road grader with a nasty streak Janet Jackson has written a song about.

"I just loved the program and coach Strong had a big impression on me," said Newman.

He's also a fan of new OL coach, Matt Mattox.

"Coach Mattox is a great coach," Newman said. "(UT) likes me at guard, but also my versatility. I want to get back to Austin and attend Under the Lights this summer."

I still think Texas wants 3-4 offensive lineman in 2017, so I look for them to continue to pursue other prospects, perhaps even going out-of-state. I know Walker Little is still the top priority and that won't change. They still like McKinney North's Tyrese Robinson and Cypress Fair's Austin Deculus, both of who are probably long shots at this point. But knowing Strong, he'll continue to recruit them like they're leans.

4. ONE TO WATCH: Austin Hawley, safety - Gladewater (http://www.hudl.com/athlete/4186803/austin-hawley)

The 2017 defensive back from bEAST Texas is finally starting to get noticed and it's about damn time. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound safety has skills to pay the bills. He's a 4.5 40 guy, who has won back-to-back district titles in the 110.

Arkansas, SMU, and Tulsa are recruiting him right now, but he's yet to be offered. He's hoping the satellite camp ban will help get him exposure this summer and boost his stock. He's also got a 3.4 GPA and excels in the classroom.

On a personal note, Hawley is a kid you root for. He's lost both of his parents and his grandparents are unable to take care of him. He lives with a family friend and wants nothing more than to get out of Gladewater and start his life and college career. I'll be following closely. After posting his highlights yesterday, I had three schools call and ask about him. It's just one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Keep your fingers crossed.

5. QUICK NOTE ON 4-STAR WR

Richmond Foster's CeeDee Lamb de-committed from OU this morning. He told me he wants to keep his options open and see a few more schools. Texas might be one of those visits. Watch the 6-foot-3, 175-pound pass-catchers Hudl (http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3265277/ceedee-lamb). He's one to keep an eye on.

QUOTABLE QUOTE:

"I always love going down to Austin, and it was great to have Coach BJ out here to see me today. He’s an awesome coach. We have a great relationship. I like him a lot.” - Plano East 4-star LB Anthony Hines

TFB on Marvin Wilson:

"As you all know, Marvin Wilson recently took a visit to Texas. I spoke to someone close to Wilson who tells me that a return trip to Austin is expected to happen this summer, likely for one of the camp dates. The more I speak to folks around Wilson the more I get the sense that if Texas can put together some wins this season, that Texas will become the favorite.

The source said about Charlie Strong, “Strong is real…he’s the realest and most authentic of all the head coaches and the kids see that”. Additionally the source mentioned that Texas’ attacking style defense appeals to Wilson. The source also added, “at the end of the day Marvin is from Texas, that doesn’t necessarily mean he will go there but the University of Texas is his home state school and there are a lot of people that want to see him there and to me that makes him Texas’ to lose'."

Orangebloods:

With the coaches out on the road doing spring evaluations, it’s been a fairly quiet week on the recruiting front for the Longhorns (unlike A&M), aside from two new out-of-state offers to WR DeVonta Smith and RB A.J. Davis and an in-state offer to WR Jalen Reagor.

We decided to check with different sources on some of the Longhorns’ top out-of-state targets, primarily those who have been offered, to get the latest and to see what Texas’ chances were with each guy.

DeVonta Smith (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=VDBhT-QxqZxda7C4uHU4-ABdmvhv3VlQHsgZ3tqbFAJ3ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3YyLnJ pdmFscy5jb20vY29udGVudC9wcm9zcGVjdHMvMzI0MQ..)- WR - Amite, LA
“I think Alabama and LSU are the two schools that are out in front. They’ve been on him for a while now,” one source said. “He doesn't have a ton of offers which is interesting considering he's been a highly-regarded player. I don't see why Texas couldn't get in the mix. They're coming in from behind, but he's kind of an open-minded kid. He was committed to Georgia at one point, but that changed when the staff changed. I think he's a guy they should at least give it a shot since he’s one of the top guys in the country and I think they’ll get a look.”

Najee Harris (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=nTHuAJi8VIvhJzk5q7wP9sLqEgM0kSE1UrF YRoGnbQt3ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3YyLnJpdmFscy5jb20vY 29udGVudC9wcm9zcGVjdHMvMTMx)– RB - Antioch, CA (committed to Alabama)
“I don’t think he's locked into Alabama. But if he goes anywhere else, it might be Ohio State. Other than that, UCLA or Cal,” a source said. “His handler was the guy involved in Joe Mixon. He hasn't had a lot of good times at Oklahoma so there’s some concern if Najee goes far from home, it could be an issue. I don't think he's 100-percent locked into Alabama, but I don’t really think Texas has much of a chance.”

Chuck Filiaga (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=aw6rXMtMqp6Smzypb5GNVqvyfICm_rRZX_p RDPMkNMN3ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3YyLnJpdmFscy5jb20vY 29udGVudC9wcm9zcGVjdHMvOTc3Mw..)– OT - Murrietta, CA (moving to Aledo for his senior year)
“His recruitment right now is interesting. One, I really don’t think he knows what he wants to do,” a source with knowledge of Filiaga’s recruitment said. “Once he gets to Texas, I think hell figure out whether he wants to come back or stay there. I think he liked his Texas visit. A lot of people have him locked into USC. But if he doesn't have much family in California and likes it in Texas, he might wind up staying. It really kind of depends on how his senior season goes and how he likes it there.”

Anthony (A.J.) Davis (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=LC-xv2NS844_cP__Y-qc0QBAks6sbOJd6U6YGd0p6rh3ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3Yy LnJpdmFscy5jb20vY29udGVudC9wcm9zcGVjdHMvMTgyNA..)– RB - Lakeland, FL
“He's one of those dudes, he’s pretty high on Oklahoma. But I don’t think it's because it’s Oklahoma, they just talk to him a lot. I know someone at his school said this to me and I agree. I could see him going to the last school that gives him a hat and gloves. He changes day to day. Texas can get involved as much as they want to unless Florida decides to push. They have other targets higher on their board though. But i think Texas has a chance.”

James Robinson (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=63WdMoHQHMYqXqqrOSUeBjFRpaflZHzhcJ2 v-ie571p3ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3JpdmFscy55YWhvby5jb20 vdGV4YXMvZm9vdGJhbGwvcmVjcnVpdGluZy9wbGF5ZXItSmFtZ XMtUm9iaW5zb24tMTY0MzAz)– WR – Lakeland, FL (no UT offer)
“He was all Clemson, but now it's mostly Florida,” said the same source who talked to us about Davis. “He could change his mind 10 times before signing day but Florida is the team right now. He’s a five-star. I’m not sure why Texas didn’t offer him, unless they just don’t think they can get him.”

Bryan Jones (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=O6yPC3e8gyAWYEAvUedQhRQkJx_VW4X1B-XgA8PJ8wB3ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3YyLnJpdmFscy5jb20v Y29udGVudC9wcm9zcGVjdHMvMTUwODk.)– SDE - Baton Rouge, LA
“He's been getting a lot of attention. I think he's good, but there are better guys. Many of the guys from Louisiana that LSU is slow playing, I think that's where Texas or others can get in and make inroads,” a source in Louisiana said. “He’s got a bunch of offers. I think he got USC yesterday. I think he’s a realistic option for Texas.”

LaBryan Ray (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=G6ekOiRCv9Z3wwzTGd8VhkolaqVLGHbLlfd bVSljOet3ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3YyLnJpdmFscy5jb20vY 29udGVudC9wcm9zcGVjdHMvMjUyMA..)– SDE - Madison, AL
“Not too many guys get out of that state” a source said.

Robert Beal (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=uyqhmXxw2ZgK1hSoE707JjQsjNQ9ULjBLwP hPT0-VGt3ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3YyLnJpdmFscy5jb20vY29udG VudC9wcm9zcGVjdHMvMjI4Ng..)– WDE - Norcross, GA
“It's interesting. He had some situation where him and his sister were trying to go to the same school. I think she’s a 2016 volleyball player. So he was kind of rushing his decision, but she's going to junior college or community college now,” a source said. “So has a longer time to decide, and I think that benefits Texas. I think he’s going to come this summer before he comes to a decision. I think he was pretty much set for going to Alabama, but he opened things back up. Texas was in his top seven.”

Deangelo Gibbs (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=cFRaKbP43UGLWJ4BoUHsUWYmihTV2fEsbku gVxR3qbZ3ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3YyLnJpdmFscy5jb20vY 29udGVudC9wcm9zcGVjdHMvMTc5)- S - Loganville, GA
"He does come down to Texas any time he has a break. He'll probably be down there during summer vacation to train. I don't know though. He has family ties to Tennessee. I think they're probably the school to beat right now."

Dylan Moses (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=sKJmTOXri7rlCY_VDmlMBnCJ6v6PSb8rTd5 X8GoejUt3ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3YyLnJpdmFscy5jb20vY 29udGVudC9wcm9zcGVjdHMvNDIyNQ..)- OLB - Bradenton, FL
"I still think it's going to be LSU or Alabama. If he's dead set on being a linebacker, I think it's those two," said one source in the state of Louisiana. "I think it's always kind of been LSU. I think he winds up landing there," a second source said.

Stanford Samuels (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=OA1WXZtLmkz_S3i2kNrlnvgf2r1SfxsmlRU 3D94XbqJ3ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3YyLnJpdmFscy5jb20vY 29udGVudC9wcm9zcGVjdHMvOTI.)- CB - Pembroke Pines, FL
"His dad is a well-respected DB from Florida State. His high school head coach went to Michigan. His dad is now coaching the team," one source said. "Georgia is the second place team for him, but something would have to go seriously wrong for it to not be FSU."

Tyler Taylor (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=ybfQQq6EfCJbI6TqdYCRMQQLF5zBnbeEE6_ FA921a953ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3YyLnJpdmFscy5jb20vY 29udGVudC9wcm9zcGVjdHMvMTM0NA..)- ILB - Sugar Hill, GA
"It's interesting, they play in Texas' uniforms. You'll see him walking around in Longhorn gear, but it's rip-off of Texas' gear. He kind of came out of nowhere. Schools were slow to get on him. If they can get him to come down and visit they have a chance. But his mom is from the country in south Georgia. He feels like the classic Auburn/Georgia type guy."

Adrian Ealy (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=yb2TKUtJ20qgqgIGRl4VnhSr91SsVqFlZci OWUHPmw93ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3YyLnJpdmFscy5jb20vY 29udGVudC9wcm9zcGVjdHMvMjM4Ng..)- OT - Baton Rouge, LA
"He does like Texas a little bit. Honestly though, I don't see him not going to LSU," a source in Louisiana said. " I could see him taking a visit to Texas, but he's at University Lab, so that will be tough."

Daniel Wright (https://outlook.office.com/owa/redir.aspx?REF=FKyIxHYRUgcEVFUka2gJ07LiKHMiurOaLVo puE4F9-F3ULudwXXTCAFodHRwczovL3YyLnJpdmFscy5jb20vY29udGVu dC9wcm9zcGVjdHMvOTM.)- ATH - Fort Lauderdale, FL
"Texas has a chance there," a person in Florida said. "Nobody really knows what to do with him. He plays both way, can play DB or wide receiver. I think the reason schools like him, he has the size and speed. When you look at prospects, he's the guy you want. He hasn't fully figured out how to play football though. He's a track guy. But he's one of those guys that when you look like him, you usually don't move like him." (Suchomel)

Update on TE Major Tennison of Bullard (24/7):

“I don’t know if I’d say I’m solid,” Tennison said. “They know where I stand. I’m looking around at other schools. I’m giving other schools a chance, and I’m going to take other visits. The staff understands that because I don’t know how the tight end is going to be used in the fall.”

“I didn’t really get to see much in the spring game,” Tennison said. “They had to keep their stuff under wraps for the Notre Dame, which I understand. But in all honesty, I didn’t get much reassurance from the spring game."

“From what I was told, there is going to be a lot more tight end usage this season. If I feel like I can help the team with the way Coach (Sterlin) Gilbert uses the tight end, then I’m all for it. But if it’s not the setup that will utilize my abilities, then maybe there is a better place for me.”

“I’m not sure (what school is the biggest threat to UT),” Tennison said. “I really enjoyed Michigan. I really enjoyed Alabama. I liked Arkansas. I’m looking at some other schools seriously as well. It’s hard to pick a top one out of those schools because like Texas, they are all great schools. But I would probably say those three.”

If the rumors are true that he was using drugs at his prom, then he probably should move on. If he gets caught doing that crap at Texas while Strong is the coach, you can bet he will not last long. He might be a great TE, he might be the top TE in the country, but if he can't say no to the nose candy then he is of no use.

“I had a great time at the spring game and I got to hang out with some of the players,” Little said. “I got to hang out with (Zach) Shackelford, we’re building a great relationship there. I got to hang out with Shane Buechele and Sam Ehlinger, Collin Johnson and some of the younger guys. I definitely got to build a little bit of a relationship with those guys. It helped give me a better feel of who I’d be around when I’m there. That’s a big thing for me because I’m going to be around the players a lot and I want to be around guys I’m comfortable with.”

“He (Coach Mattox) seemed like more of a quiet guy until I went up there, and then he really opened up,” Little said. “I saw the cool side of him, which I hadn’t seen yet. I like the way he coaches and the type of guy he is. I really gelled well with him.”

“They are definitely up there,” Shavers said. “I love my relationship with the coaches, and I like the new offense, too. I like that they are opening it up and doing more of a spread.”

“I do want to play both sports in college,” Shavers said. “I like them both even. I’ve been playing both since I was five. Since I play wide receiver and outfielder, it helps me track the ball down in both ways.”

TCU is camping with those schools? Why?

TCU and Alabama have swapped coaching clinics the last few years so have a decent working relationship with them. Basically overall it makes them the most desired camps in Texas this summer and response has been outstanding.

Here are Thursday's notes on Texas targets 24/7.

— Texas defensive line coach Brick Haley was in Georgia today and stopped by to see four-star Norcross defensive end Robert Beal. Texas is hanging around in his recruitment and will host him for an unofficial visit this summer.

— Beal wasn’t the only big-time prospect Haley saw in Georgia. He also visited Grayson to check in on five-star cornerback Deangelo Gibbs, who is expected to visit Texas this summer.

— Haley also made his way to Mill Creek while in the Peach State. UT isn’t actively recruiting anyone at Mill Creek, but keep an eye on offensive linemen Tyler Fannin and Jack Franklin.

— Texas defensive coordinator Vance Bedford made a big stop yesterday when he visited both Marvin Wilson and Walker Little at Houston Bellaire Episcopal. Wilson and Little are two of UT’s biggest targets this cycle.

— Today, Bedford stayed in the Houston-area and dropped by FB Elkins to see fast-rising outside linebacker Kenneth Murray, who has notched Baylor, Michigan and Oklahoma offers over the last week.

— Texas assistant Jeff Traylor remained in East Texas and visited some of the smaller schools in the area. He didn’t see any UT recruits but is continuing to develop relationships.

Hearing #Texas made a big move for #ESPN300 & @AllAmericaGame CB Kary Vincent with yesterday's visit.

Orangebloods:

Port Arthur Memorial DB Kary Vincent will run in the UIL State Track meet on Saturday (4X100 and 200M). He came in to Austin on Thursday to swing by the football offices with his father and get some time with Charlie Strong.

"It was actually really great," Vincent said. "It was my first time meeting coach Strong. I got to see a lot of the campus I'd never seen before. We went in depth about me, not as much about Texas, we just talked about me as a player, the recruiting process. Coach Strong is a great guy to talk to and a mentor. I hope to get back there soon."

Vincent's father, who played wide receiver at Texas A&M, also enjoyed the visit, according to Kary.

"They had a great conversation. That was great for me with them being able to connect like that. It was great for me to see," Vincent said.

Vincent will visit LSU next weekend. This weekend, Vincent will have a date set to release his list of favorites, likely a top 10. Expect Texas to make the cut. On his way out of the football fieldhouse, Vincent saw WR Mannie Netherly coming in for his visit with Strong (Netherly is also running in the state meet).

More on Vincent later in the weekend. (Suchomel)

EJ Holland: Jeffrey Okudah goes in-depth on recruiting, Texas

It seems like it’s the year of the early enrollee in the state of Texas. Many of the Lone Star State’s elite prospects, including Baron Browning, Anthony Hines, J.K. Dobbins and Sam Ehlinger, will all graduate early and get a head start on their football careers at the next level. And now you can add South Grand Prairie defensive back Jeffrey Okudah to the list. The five-star prospect will enroll early and make a decision before his senior season. “I’m starting to get things ready for early graduation,” Okudah said. “I might make six or seven visits in the summer. Then hopefully, I can make a decision before the start of the season. That’s where it stands right now.”

One of the most sought after prospects in the country, Okudah holds offers from a number of major programs. Schools like Alabama Florida State, Ohio State and Stanford are all squarely in the mix. So where does Texas sit? “Texas is always a school I’m going to consider because of Coach (Charlie) Strong and what he’s doing,” Okudah said. “He’s a great coach, and he’s well respected. I have faith in what they can do with my talent.” Okudah initially left Texas off his Top 10 list but put the Longhorns back on it after their strong recruiting pull last cycle. Okudah made a visit earlier this spring for junior day and didn’t rule out a potential return trip for the summer. “The (coaching staff) really wants me to come back down for a visit,” Okudah said. “Ultimately, they want me to stay in state and help build the program back up.”

Okudah is continuing to build a relationship with new defensive backs coach Clay Jennings and linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary, who recently stopped by to watch him at practice. At 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, Okudah is ranked as the No. 1 safety in the country, but most schools see him as a lockdown cornerback, where he starts at South Grand Prairie. Okudah said he could see himself playing any position in the secondary. “I'm mostly recruited as a corner,” Okudah said. “I’m versatile. I can play all three spots in the secondary — kind of like a Jalen Ramsey. With what me and (personal trainer) Coach (Clay) Mack are trying to do, there is going to be no question what I can play when the time comes.” Okudah will make an unofficial visit to Ohio State next week and hopes to make trips to Clemson, Notre Dame and Michigan this summer.

Quote from the high school coach of CB Chevin Calloway (Inside Texas):

"Texas is in the mix. It really opened up his eyes when he went to go see Texas for the first time. Every kid grew up remembering Vince Young so they're always aware of Texas. He had the opportunity to go down there and it changed his mindset of what direction the team is headed. He understands they have good defensive coaches who can help him get to the next level. He knows with that staff defense will always be a priority and he likes the degree and alumni base. As a sophomore it was all about uniforms and now it's all about finding the right fit. Texas will be a real option for him."

Inside Texas Predictions to date:

QB - Sam Ehlinger

RB - JK Dobbins - I'm putting trust in Strong and my read in JK. I'll ride with it until JK tells me not to

WR - Damion Miller - Baylor concerns me

WR - Omar Manning - Strong will have to work all the angles and build a family consensus like with Erick Fowler

WR - Tyrell Shavers - Texas kid, imo

TE - Major Tennison - Admittedly I have concerns with Florida and Michigan

OL - Xavier Newman

OL - Will Farrar - I'm feeling really good here

OL - Walker Little - Been feeling good here

OL - Grayson Reed - I could see Stephan Zabie here if Reed sticks with A&M

A player throwing a glitch in my calculator is WR Mannie Netherly. I think he can be had but I believe he'd have to hop on board earlier rather than later unless Texas takes four WR's which is possible. I'm trying to keep this to a 20 person class.

DT - Marvin Wilson - Everyone is sleeping on Texas for some very bizarre reason

DL - Lagaryonn Carson - If he doesn't make it in for whatever reason put Ondario Robinson here

DE - Taquon Graham - You know this cracka loves me some Graham

FOX - No idea. I'm not going with Robert Beal here, yes I know Strong has an angle of some sort. I do think Texas can make up some ground with K'Lavon Chaisson if/when it gets him to campus. I could see recent offer Josh Clarke getting the nod here. Beal will visit twice more, so there's that.

LB - Baron Browning -If he's in the class you don't have to take a Fox.

LB - Anthony Hines - I write this with zero homerism. I think, and have thought for some time, Texas will land the super duo

CB - Kobe Boyce

CB - Kary Vincent - Like with Manning this will be another fun one with TCU

DB - Saiid Adebo - If Texas gives the full sell I like its chances

DB - Not sure. I'm not going with an Okudah projection at this point. I think UT has a shot for Chevin Calloway but he's impossible to predict and he may prove a difficult read up until he decides.

So there's 20 - or 18 real predictions, and two 'I have no idea' cop outs. I do think the class can extend to 22 which leaves some BPA potential. At LB, Levi Jones will be one to watch, as well as Kenneth Murray from Elkins. These are the names you should be typing every time you look for the D-y-l-a-n M-o-s-e-s keys.

Texas isn't out of it with Okudah, so save that question/concern. I'm just not predicting him to Texas.

Does anyone know what's going on with 5 star Jarrett Allen? Today is supposed to be the day, right? Kinda strange nothings happened and no one knows anything. Something must be going on behind the scenes.

24/7

Found this:

With two days until the signing deadline for the 2016 class, things are murky at best for Texas basketball. Five-star power forward Jarrett Allen remains a mystery. He met with his family over the weekend to discuss his decision, and I’ve heard it was a productive talk all around. However, Allen still has not set an announcement date. St. Stephen’s held its athletic banquet Sunday, which Shaka Smart spoke at, but no decision came of the event. Allen wanted to have a decision made by the deadline, but that’s been the case in the past as well. Right now, there’s no telling when an announcement or decision will come.

The race for Allen is pretty much down to Kansas, Texas and Houston. Based on everything I’ve heard, I would still say Texas at this point, but, really, there is nothing set in stone with Allen. Going into the weekend he didn’t know where he would go to school, and I’m not sure he does now. I’ve had one source close to the recruitment tell me “nobody knows” with Allen, and that’s probably the best way to put things. The deadline to sign a National Letter of Intent is technically Wednesday, but that doesn’t mean much in college basketball. Allen can technically push his decision all the way up to the fall if he’d like and a school would still take him. That said, talking to people and from my interactions with Allen, I don’t expect that to be the case. But as the last few months have shown, nothing is guaranteed when it comes to the big man.

Additionally, on the potential target front, Mareik Isom is a name to continue to follow. The Arkansas Little Rock graduate transfer is eligible to play next season, and he’s an Austin native. Isom averaged 5.9 points and 2.4 rebounds per game last season. Romello White is a name that’s come up on the board quite often, but the Longhorns will not pursue the former Georgia Tech signee because of an issue unrelated to basketball. (Hummer)

QB Davis Webb to Cal is official.

Yeah, that's a much better situation for him than Colorado or Auburn.

I hope he tears it up.

Quotes from ATH Saiid Adebo of Mansfield after receiving a UT offer last week (24/7):

“It was big," Adebo said. "Growing up, I always liked Texas. It’s a home state team. If you live in Texas, you follow UT, so it’s a big offer. It’s definitely going to be somewhere I look at."

“I like the tradition. They’ve been down a few years. But Texas doesn’t stay down for long, so they’ll be back in no time.”

“I got to go to the field house and meet with Coach Strong and some of the other coaches," he said. "That was big. I talked to Coach Strong and Coach Jennings, who was at Arkansas. He’s going to start hitting me up here now.”

“It (future position) doesn’t matter to me,” Adebo said. “I think I’m equally capable of playing both ways. It doesn’t matter. Whatever school or system fits me best is where I will go.”

Update on the 2018 WR Josh Moore and 2018 S Jordan Moore from Yoakum (24/7):

“Coach (Vance) Bedford came down here, and we talked a little bit,” Joshua said. “He said they probably wouldn’t offer until summer because he’s working on the 2017 class. But he said we would be some of the first 2018’s to get Texas offers."

“An offer from Texas would be tough to turn down. I haven’t taken a visit but once I get there on a visit, I think I will love it just as much as any other school.”

“I actually took a visit to Texas this weekend,” Jordan said. “I love how Charlie Strong is. I love Coach Bedford. I love everything about it. The players are cool with me. It was just amazing."

“My mom graduated from UT. If they offer, it’s going to put them high. They haven’t even offered yet, and they are already sitting high. Imagine when we start building a real close relationship. I’ve been waiting for that since a young age.”

“We want to play together, but at the same time, we have to do what’s best for us," Jordan said. "We are still going to keep in touch and be as close as we are now. We love to compete together but at the same time, it would be great to compete against each other.”

24/7 reporting OL Will Farrar is about to have surgery for a torn labrum that will see him miss time his senior year.

However, Inside Texas says that injury happened last year, he's already had surgery and is already rehabbing.

The UT staff knew about the injury before they offered.

More undocumented sexual assault cases at Baylor:

http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/15562625/waco-police-records-reveal-additional-violence-allegations-baylor-football-players

From the chipster-

Talked to multiple sources today connected to Baylor who said Ken Starr will be out as the school's president and chancellor - probably moved to a position in BU's law school - as a result of the failed leadership displayed after multiple rape claims made by female Baylor students against BU football players went all but ignored. ESPN's Outside The Lines had yet another report on new allegations on Wednesday. And yet Baylor's silence from the president's office persists. I'm told the term of BU regent Richard Willis as chairman is only through the end of May and that one of his final actions as regents chair will be to move Starr out as president and chancellor.

Art Briles, whose nickname among Baylor brass is "Moses," will absolutely continue on as football coach. The hope would be Baylor's new president could establish a strong relationship with Briles to make sure nothing like this ever happens again. Starr's personality is to avoid conflict and is too much like an attorney who always invokes attorney-client privilege in refusing to disclose any information, sources said. That is absolutely the wrong approach to have at Baylor right now, they said.

"Even at a private school, you have to get out in front of something like this and yell from the mountain top that you're going to get to the bottom of everything and make sure this never happens again," one BU source said. "The school's reputation is on the line." Keep an eye on Joel Allison, who is stepping down as CEO of Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health in February 2017 as a possible replacement for Starr replacement after an interim president is appointed for the next 6-7 months.

FWIW, Feldman said today he doesn't think Briles has a job by the time Big XII Media Days arrive.

EJ Holland's VIP notes 24/7:
had an opportunity to spend most of the day with Houston Bellaire Episcopal defensive tackle Marvin Wilson and offensive tackle Walker Little. Here are some key takeaways on each prospect.

Marvin Wilson

Wilson stayed after school to get some extra work in the weight room, where he currently benches 375 and squats 475. The five-star prospect is working hard to improve those numbers this summer. Wilson, however, did not lift today. Instead he worked on explosion drills with medicine balls and plyometrics. It was extremely impressive to see a 330-pound monster jump the way he did this afternoon. As far as recruiting goes, Wilson will visit Oklahoma on June 4. That is the only visit he has planned. He also hopes to see Florida State, Florida, USC, Texas and a handful of others this summer. Alabama and Florida State seem to be at the top of his list, but I would put Texas third with LSU, Ole Miss, OU and Texas A&M heavily in the mix as well. Wilson said Texas is definitely ahead of A&M as far as in-state schools go. He will release a Top 10 this summer and make a final decision on National Signing Day.

Walker Little

Little had a skill specific workout elsewhere, so I didn't get to see him going through any drills. However, I did meet with Little and his parents at their home and spent a couple of hours there. The family just visited Stanford a few days ago and said they had a wonderful time in Palo Alto. In my opinion, Stanford, Ole Miss and Texas are the teams to beat here. The family loves Texas and Charlie Strong and is fond of new offensive line coach Matt Mattox. The biggest thing they want to see is Texas win games on the field. Little said he might visit UT again for Under The Lights in July. He also plans to visit Florida, Florida State, Auburn and a handful of others this spring. Little does not want to make a decision until some time during his senior season.

Orangebloods:

There's been a lot of talk about 2016 signee Erick Fowler's status as the incoming freshman class gets ready to report, and I was able to catch up with the five-star linebacker this week for a quick update.

In talking to Fowler, he's still hopeful that he'll be enrolling for the first UT summer session, but he hasn't been fully cleared yet. Fowler took the SAT earlier this month. He's not sure when he'll get his scores in, but If he gets the necessary mark he plans to enroll with the majority of the incoming freshmen. If not, he'll have to re-take the test in June and enroll later.

So at this point, it's just a matter of Fowler's SAT score. He said he does not have any other high school classes he'll need to take.

"I'm graduating June 2nd," Fowler said. "I'm walking the stage and everything."

The 6-3, 235-pound standout is understandably anxious to get his results and he's ready to get started on his college career.

"Man, my nerves haven't been right," Fowler said. "I'm ready to throw some pads on. I just have to get back in top shape."

Speaking of workouts, Fowler has been doing CrossFit to stay in shape. He actually started CrossFit when he was a freshman after suffering a knee injury. He told me this week that he's been so focused on school that his workouts have slipped a bit, but he's planning to get back into his routine in order to get ready for life as a Longhorn.

As for how he feels about the recent test ...

"I feel pretty good," Fowler said.

We'll keep you all posted on Fowler's status. (Suchomel)

Anxious to see where DE Ondario Robinson fits in since Carson may move inside and Graham should be committing on May 27th.
