We are back. I feel very strongly we will lose again but think about this season unfolding. We are absolutely abysmal the first game. Almost as bad the 2nd game against a weak team. We beat a down USC team at home. But we spotted them points and dealt out a 4th quarter death blow. We finally beat TCU spotting them the lead and again dealing a 2nd half death blow. We go up against KSt. relax, then deal a 6:24 drive death blow not giving them a chance to fulfill a comeback. Winning in a place we can’t. We do the same to OU, just get kicked around the end of 3rd and most of the 4th but when it must happen, a scoring drive to win the game. We just did it. With confidence like we were supposed to.

We have so many areas to improve yet we are winning? We are actually winning? We don’t need our A game to win because we have not played a full A game yet. We are just falling asleep for an entire 1/4 of a game and still winning.

Ill take it.

What iI would like to see is first 3/4 of a game 40 pts in the lead, and let some of other guys get some time. I wanna see Shane again. I wanna see our Georgia RB play if he has been putting in effort and playing well during practice. I want some rewards for kids that “might be important next year games” or just deserve some time for their efforts.

definitely the best the longhorns have played under the herman era. they are hitting a nice groove as far as both players and coaches are concerned and they are doing it with a nice blend of under and upperclassmen. it certainly beats where they were after week 2.

A lot of guys in this class jumped too early on the Aggy bandwagon, now they are looking around at Texas and the hype surrounding them.

Jimbo is a good coach that will help the Ags win more games, but I don't see him beating Bama, or Georgia any time in the next 5 years. I think both their OC and DC will be gone after the next 2 years so they are going to have to adjust to new coordinators. I think the heat is going to be pretty high in CS for everyone in this program. They have set expectations no one can live up to.

Either way, Texas needs 3 more linemen so I'm not worried. I'm actually hoping Texas can get the OT committed to TCU.

Bottom line is Turner is a good coach and Hand is a good coach he won't be wrong if he chooses aggy, nor will he be wrong for picking Texas.

So I need help understanding.

These 7 v 7 coaches and trainers like this footwork dude make money from I assume parents due to training their kids. But some of these kids are not exactly from wealthy families, so these mentors are doing this for free in some cases? But apparently not in others? Is the implication that guys like Fisher and Herman are paying these mentor/trainers?

And of course the HS coaches dislike these guys as it takes some of their power away as the trainer/ mentors are actually saying they are responsible for making the kids better players? Or what?

Any good articles with some insight?

And we know coaches at the HS and NCAA level have to play by certain rules. But these trainers/mentors/summer 7 v 7 coaches don’t? This is where the NCAA needs to step in. If I am beginning to understand this recruiting, this sounds like some real bastard AAU guys in basketball, or even the shoe guys.

These vids that people post of these kids... who makes them? And are they payed for by parents? But some kids don’t have $ and this is not sounding so great. The UIL in Texas I imagine has very little power... I’m just getting bits and pieces.

So I need help understanding.

These 7 v 7 coaches and trainers like this footwork dude make money from I assume parents due to training their kids. But some of these kids are not exactly from wealthy families, so these mentors are doing this for free in some cases? But apparently not in others? Is the implication that guys like Fisher and Herman are paying these mentor/trainers?

And of course the HS coaches dislike these guys as it takes some of their power away as the trainer/ mentors are actually saying they are responsible for making the kids better players? Or what?

Any good articles with some insight?

And we know coaches at the HS and NCAA level have to play by certain rules. But these trainers/mentors/summer 7 v 7 coaches don’t? This is where the NCAA needs to step in. If I am beginning to understand this recruiting, this sounds like some real bastard AAU guys in basketball, or even the shoe guys.

The way I understand it is that FWK and others are paid by Nike or Under Armor to rep for them and to guide these young men to schools that have signed with said company. If 7 on 7 guy is contracted with Nike he is going to guide his kids to schools that are also under the Nike brand. Now this is all under the table, but you get the idea. There is nothing to stop a school from hiring FWK as a recruiting consultant if FWK has a kid they like (Aggy). This is the new form of cheating. I'm sure FWK is funneling money down to the players as well. He can, he has no affiliation with any school.

But I think Shane moves on after this season all things remaining equal. He didn't win the starting spot and also seems to have been recruited over. But you never know with injuries. Applewhite was once a 3rd stringer behind Adam Dunn and Marty Cherry.

He was behind Greg Cicero too. As a matter of fact , had it not been for a lower leg injury to Greg, the world probably never would’ve known of Major Applewhite the player. Probably still would’ve been a hell of a coach.

They'd fit in well with other WRs in this class.

The problem with a rematch is that oklahoma is not going to find an answer at defending us. Their CB's won't get taller. Their linebackers and box stacking were all there, we were just flat out stronger and bullied them.

UT's defense, OTOH could get much better at defending them. See: Caden Sterns wrong angles give up 14 points alone in the 4th quarter. That is fixable.
