Grandy has a much better chance to start if Texas somehow misses out on Anderson.
However, I think the staff prefers he play inside so he's going to have to compete with Vahe, Hudson, Rodriguez, etc.
It's not hard to see him as a depth guy his first year, but he's only a sophomore.

I agree it will be tougher this year, but this is where winning on field helps. In 2018, they sold hope of a return to glory. In 2019, they're going to have to show progress. Do that and they will have the eyes and ears of the top kids.

Beck. Forgot about him. Thinking about how Herman was supposed to like a TE and how weak we were.
Guys like T. Graham. I was thinking about our DE's, Was a bit nervous. I feel better now.
Also forgot we planned to move PJ Locke to safety. There were times last year he got beat really bad. Now thinking about having stuff in front him and not necessarily having to cover a fast slot. And maybe occasional blitz. Much nicer, he is not a CB. Things like the aforementioned make your list really convenient when I pop in for a read.

Yeah. I remember Hudson playing and pushing a RB into the endzone but I don't know what year he is officially in. And I certainly don't know all the NCAA rules about transferring and injuries. I was just excited we got him from Baylor.

I just thought it was normal for us to have talent. The kicking and OL has been a horrific nightmare. (Edit: but our punter got to show off; I have never seen us punt so often. It also took games staying close.)

According to 24/7, ATH Jordan Whittington of Cuero has set a commitment date of March 3rd.
It's down to A&M, UT and UCLA, with UT considered to be the favorite.
He's pushed back his commitment timeline a few times already, so don't be surprised if he does it again.
As a borderline five-star player, needless to say he'd be a huge pick-up to help recruit the class along with QB Roschon Johnson.

Texas hosted quarterback commit Roschon Johnson for an unofficial visit this weekend. During his time in Austin, Johnson linked up with Texas wide receiver targets Garrett Wilson and Elijah Higgins to work on some routes. Higgins told us he really enjoyed working with Johnson, who will be recruiting them hard moving forward. They all visualized playing with each other after the workout.
Give me these two and add Whittington and Wright and this receiver class will be shaping up great.

I like where Texas sits with Bragg, T. Johnson, and Ndoma-Ogar.
They need to pick up a little momentum with Shepherd this weekend as he was really high on Texas last summer and into the fall.
Green is going to be tough and it sucks that Jimbo has a connection to the Humble Atascocita staff, but he's supposed to be real close with OL Sam Cosmi.
Regardless, I'd be surprised if that one is settled any time soon.
Maybe Coach Hand can make some moves with OL Jack Buford out of St. Louis.

So looking at our numbers here is my best guess on how many we take at each position.
QB - 1
RB - 1 or 2 - I'm guessing two as we lose a couple and maybe more if Kirk retires.
WR - 2
TE - 2
Oline 5 - we are short two guys as or right now and we lose 3 to graduation.
DT - 2 or 3 - we lose two to graduation but might also have some attrition
DE - 4 - we lose 2 to graduation and maybe 1 to the NFL (Roach) also possible attrition.
LB - 4 - We lose our top 3 plus might lose one to NFL (McCullough)
CB - 2 - lose two to graduation
S - 2 - lose two to graduation
All in all, I expect us to take another full class of at lease 25.

Accordingly he is correct 65% of the time. He has 12 uncommitted guys going to Aggsy and 11 going to Texas. If his average holds up then 7 of those he has going to Texas should in fact end up at Texas while 8 he has going to Aggsy should in fact end up with them.
the interesting thing is who the 4 are from each side that likely won't go to the school he chose.
I'm of the opinion Aggy won't get DeMarvin Leal, the way the Texas coaches have prioritized him and the proximity to Austin, I think he will ultimately pick Texas.
Arjai Henderson is another pick I think won't chose Aggy, but I think he ends up at Oklahoma.
Javonne Shepard is another guy I think ultimately ends up at Texas. He is from North Shore which seems to have a better relationship with Texas than A&M. Texas has work to do, as he is 100% A&M right now.
The easy one is Grant Gunnell who likely follows in parents footsteps and goes to Arkansas.
Looking at Texas picks
Chris Steel - He likes Whataburger, but ultimately I think he picks USC and In n Out Burger.

He's a good prospect, but unfortunately he was ruled ineligible for his sophomore year after transferring from Azle so he has no updated film.

I haven't seen it confirmed by anyone, but there is a rumor on OrangeBloods that 2020 QB Hudson Card of Austin Lake Travis will make at some point this weekend.
It's super early, but I believe he is a realistic candidate to be Texas' guy in that cycle.
2018 will be his first year as the full-time starter at QB.

This honest to God feels like looking at a bunch of yearlings at a horse auction and trying to get your next Kentucky Derby winner and then Breeders Cup Classic winner. We don't know how they will develop and that's very interesting. if that ugly looking little fast horse will grow into a monster machine because of his parents, this one has shown potential as a huge fast yearling, on and on. It's very odd, but very interesting. Then we gotta get a trainer that can put a good team together.

The quickest kid I have ever seen was a kid named Wilkerson from SA Clark a "long time" back. I think he scored 7 touchdowns in one half. My father told me about a kid he had seen from the same school way back, Wayne McGarety (sp?) that was hugely fast. One failed, one was surprisingly good. Both kids UT bound. It's a strange game.

When Jase didn't get the UT offer, he went with OU.
Evans should be ranked higher when the 2020 rankings are published.

Being investigated does not make them guilty, I know Baylor's past, but I'm inclined to believe that at some point someone knowing this past is going to take advantage of it and claim sexual assault even when nothing happens, knowing full well that we the public will be first to condemn them and side with the alleged victim.
Or maybe the worked up a #6 on them.

My point is, they don't know how to handle the press properly. Use an example of a innocent student getting his/her life ruined by a false accusation , no names but make it obvious. "We must be careful and forthcoming." They don't even have this protocol in place. They just shut up and then keep some documents that can be public knowledge. Or another dept says too much. The law firm they hired needs to make this clear to Baylor.
or... they may not get it. Because they DID NOT get it for a very long time. You make your bed...

xavier player from steele is just that-a player. it may help that he played with sterns and i am sure that caden will look to recruit him. player has a real knack for getting the INTs, btw. i would expect the list for 2020 to eventually include a few other steele players as they have quite a few younger players that may turn out to be special, including the QB who was just a frosh this past season.

If you have NFL aspirations then RB is probably the worst position you can play, they have an average shelf life of about 4 years with the vast majority being done by 7 years. Very very few go past 7 years.
I know I've told this story in the past.
Back in 2009 Sports Illustrated was doing a Heisman tribute. I was at the texas vs Tech game and they had a booth where Earl Campbell was signing free copies of Sports Illustrated. I spoke with him for a brief moment and got him to sign my throw back Earl Campbell jersey. He was so punchy and at the time was in a wheel chair.
I thought he gave too much to the game, and he only played 7 years.

The staff obviously likes him since this will be at least his second time on campus, but it's hard to know how he'd fit Herman's offense.
Roschon's ability is the direction they'd like to go, so I'm not sure if that's something Seals can provide or if he's strictly a pro-style guy.
We'll see what his junior year looks like.
