Uh, I thought Marcel Brooks was too ” Baylorish” for the Texas coaching staff?
If you could take away all the variables that scare you away from him. He's probably top 2-3 prospects in the state this year. Crazy talented...

Don't see the connection? Everyone saw the greatness of Kaden Smith and Irv Smith. Zach Gentry? Wasn't he the guy that was committed to Texas as a QB and Michigan swooped in and promised him he'd be the next John Elway if he signed with them. Then when he got there they made him a TE. If that is the case, then it looks to me that Jim Harbaugh is a much better at evaluation of talent than Strong is.

Soooo, it looks like he may have taken improper benefits?
"While 2019 St. John Bosco HS CB Chris Steele claims USC isn't the perfect fit for him, the Trojans actually parted ways with him because of the high potential for NCAA drama.
Shortly after Steele committed to USC, the Trojan compliance office was approached by multiple parties, including USC247.com, with evidence he took improper benefits. The evidence shows these benefits were funneled from USC recruiting reporters. Scott Schrader of TrojanInsider.com and Ryan Young of TrojanSports.com are the two reporters accused of doing so. Ryan Abraham and Gerard Martinez of USCFootball.com were also said to be approached about providing improper benefits to Steele, but there's no evidence they did."

Kimber's father told 24/7 they attended the OU game and loved what they saw from UT, they're in constant contact with Carrington, love the idea of playing for Coach Washington and are planning a return trip to UT (probably for the West Virginia game).

Some people can’t smell and or taste the really bad ones. They can’t tell what it is. That is an interesting game. I would love to see what goes into making those. Rotten eggs is not difficult. But grass clippings? I want to know what compound(s) they isolated to get that smell/taste. They could easily do dead bodies, as that main chemical has been isolated, but that would seriously gag people even if harmless (ie no bacteria or microbes).

Definitely the place for Rondale.
He is featured. Got a good QB and a run game.
One wonders how much of a chance he would have gotten with us. We needed a slot, Collin and Humpries were solidly in and Duvernay can block and is a deep threat. It’s easy to say he would have been starting when you watch AFTER the fact, but I wonder.
Perfect slot though. Strong, fast and very evasive all in one package. He did have a pretty important drop at one moment, but otherwise, my gosh... a freshman. Sterns would have had fun going against this guy.

Jake Smith has 4 inches on Rondale. Moore’s power was very surprising for a wide out. That is a strong kid. Almost a fireplug WR. Grabbing him on holding on was a chore. Although Herbstreet did mention OSU had been unhappy with their DB tackling even before this game.
Some great play calling by the Purdue coaches on those 3rd downs. The quick handoffs to Knox?(name?) when Ohio St. came with the house on blitzes was beautiful.

This Missouri pipeline is looking good.
Following Adoye with Marcus Washington and Mookie is darned good start. Easiest state in the nation to recruit. Texas basically only has to recruit one high school, Trinity High School in St. Louis.
Trinity is 12 miles from the airport. 2 hours non-stop from Austin. It doesn't get much easier than that. Even Greg Davis could manage that grueling schedule.

Lol the Pirate is basically accusing the Pac12 of favoring USC during games
".......USC linebacker Porter Gustin was not given a targeting penalty for hits on Washington State quarterback Gardner Minshew during the Trojan’s 39-36 win on Sept. 21. Meanwhile, Washington State linebacker Logan Tago was flagged on that very call for a hit on Trojans quarterback JT Daniels.
Eventually, reports from last week led Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott to admit errors were made in the replay-review process. He then proclaimed that immediate changes would be made to the process that will prevent any real-time inference by leaders in the conference going forward.
Here’s what Leach texted to league officials following that USC game, which were obtained by Yahoo Sports.
Leach, in a text to Pac-12 vice president of officiating David Coleman, wrote on Sept. 25 about the targeting no-call against USC: “Woodie is a total coward and is afraid of USC. I look forward to telling him in person.” Leach referred to Woddie Dixon, the Pac-12 general counsel and senior vice president of business affairs.
Leach also wrote Dixon and said: “Why can’t I help wondering, if you’re trying to manipulate wins and losses?”........"

Quote from RB Trey Sanders after Coach Drayton went to Florida to see him (24/7):
“It was real good to see him,” Sanders said. “Coach Drayton is like a dad to me. It was good to see him come out here and check us out. He’s always teaching me something. I remember sitting in his running back room one time, and him just teaching me how I can change my game in 15 minutes. Since then, it’s been different for me.”

I want Sanders more than I want Evans next year, not saying I don't want Evans, but first off Sanders is this year and him and Ingram would be hell for any defense to try to stop. Also, because Sanders DOMINATED the game that was on tv against Bru McCoys' team, Mater Dei. The dude was just running in a different gear.
Evans, reminds me of Adrian Peterson in the way he runs. I know there have been a lot of comparisons to AP but his running style is very similar IMO to the way he runs.

Inside Texas had a recruiting percentages article this morning, and below is what they wrote on RB Trey Sanders.
Up until now, they haven't given UT much of a chance.
The fit: Explosive big back who can run inside or outside, with speed or with power. "He's the best running back out this way since Dalvin Cook," said one source. To which I responded, "he looks way different than I remember as a junior." He didn’t look like a five-star to me until this year.
The recruitment: This recruitment threw me for a loop yesterday. In the span of about 10 minutes both Justin and me heard positives regarding Texas. I've been very cautious (to put it mildly)on UT's chances thus far, but now I could see them landing the five-star.
Timeline: December for the early enrollee. He still has an official visit to Alabama for the Iron Bowl which is obviously a concern. He took his official visit to Texas for the USC game.
Percentages: 40% - Texas, 40% - Alabama, 20% - Florida

Question: We keep hearing about Sam and his throwing motion for playing in the game. What about him getting hit on shoulder? His running style seems to be bad as for reinjuring his shoulder,or evin taking a sack could hurt it more. The TCU quarterback just required surjery. Texas cannot afford to lose Sam for rest of year.

We are in trouble next year imo unless some guys make a Cosmi-like development.
Im thinking Hudson may be done.
The OL improvement has been THE largest factor for actually winning games this year. We can grind. We can actually run some clock to close out games or drive for the winning FG. We have options on 3rd and 3. Real options.

From everything I've read, the number is five excluding Powell since he is seen as an ATH take.
Washington will make four and then there's room for one more like Higgins, but McCoy and Wilson would have spots until the end regardless of numbers.

I can’t say anything negative about the staffs recruiting so far but I have a terrible feeling about the lack of o-linemen and what it could spell for the future.
The staff will hit their mark and take at least four imo.
A good thing to remember is how white-knuckled everyone was last year about DL recruiting, and it ended up working out.
Also, the 2020 and 2021 OL classes are seen as much stronger than 2019, so the staff is having to account for that.

Floss do you like Coker at OG?
I'd be lying if I said I've seen his senior film.
Reviews I've read for him remind me of how people talked about Urquidez; a slow-footed guard in a tackle's body.

24/7 had an updated early enrollees list for the 2019 class: QB Roschon Johnson, TE Jared Wiley, LB De'Gabriel Floyd and ATH Jordan Whittington.
DE Peter Mpagi and LB Marcus Tillman are currently planning on doing the same, but are still getting on track to do so.

Per 24/7, Herman went to Houston North Forest last week to check on OL Javonne Shepherd.
They mentioned the visit had a big impact on Shepherd and he's planning on being at the West Virginia game next weekend.

The Football Brainiacs are saying two starters are going to be suspended for the first quarter against OK State due to being late for practice.
OrangeBloods confirmed the two players are CB Kris Boyd and CB Davante Davis.
Both are expected to play, but they didn't mention what their punishment would be.
Boyd and Davis showing that they can't handle what little success this team is having!!! I need these two fools to graduate yesterday😤.

From everything I've read, the number is five excluding Powell since he is seen as an ATH take.
Washington will make four and then there's room for one more like Higgins, but McCoy and Wilson would have spots until the end regardless of numbers.
This class can go as high as 28, so there's room to work with.
A handful of Stanford crystal balls have come in recently for Higgins, FWIW.
Much like Bragg, he's thought to be headed there if he gets accepted.

All the receivers in the class currently, may not finish in there. Pretty much the coaches may be asking one of them to look around as the numbers may not include them.

It's always a possibility someone looks around, but the staff has to anticipate both CJ and Humphrey going pro.
If that's the case, you only have five scholarship WRs: Duvernay, Pouncey, Moore, Woodard and Eagles.

I'd imagine that if we won the toss we'd probably want the ball first. I'm excited to see Cook play, he'll be in Boyd's spot next year and the experience always helps.

I wish it were Jalen Green and Anthony Cook
I don't believe Boyd has played too terribly, he had a bad game against Jalen Reagor but TCU doesn't really even run a real route tree. On their go routes or double/triple moves, it is easier to get lost. Davis on the other hand well, I'm thankful he likes to lay the wood in run defense, passing against him is a hold your breathe type of moment

"according to athletic director Kirby Hocutt, the Red Raiders will not only have to host a game on Thanksgiving weekend in 2020, that game will be the biggest game of the year.
“It’s our understanding right now that in 2020 we would host the University of Texas on that last weekend of the football schedule.” Hoctt said Wednesday on his weekly radio show. “Obviously, that’s an understanding, it cold change. If there’s some competitive disadvantages that would be caused by that, obviously we would not support that. As we understand everything right now, that’s what we would expect to see; Texas coming to Lubbock that last game of the year, Thanksgiving weekend”.....

Thompson has been playing a bunch on special teams. I think he's Locke's replacement next year at Nickel. Next years secondary is going to be green (as in not much experience) and young, especially at CB.

Watched a little OL film.
Hookfin >>>> Coker
Coker looks like a guard all the way, who needs to learn to keep his feet moving. Tfloss was right about him being a guard in a tackle body.
Hookfin is long and lean with far superior foot work. My only concern is whether he can gain the extra 30 pounds he will need and be able to stay "light on his feet". A tackle prospect all the way.
