By the way, I've read that A'Shawn Robinson is bolting Texas for USC. Can anyone confirm?
Saw a rumor on OrangeBloods from a random guy but nothing of substance yet. I've had myself prepared since he visited USC as I think that's the one school he'll leave Texas for.

If we can hold on to Jerrod Heard, he's gonna be a special player. Should be the most hyped UT QB since GG, hopefully with opposite results.
He's about to win Denton Guyer the state championship. Man I wish he could trade spots with Swoopes.
Damon Sayles @DamonSayles (https://twitter.com/DamonSayles)
Jerrod Heard's stats: 144 rushing yards, 5 TDs. 178 passing yards, 2 TDs. Those not good at math: 322 total yards, 7 TDs. #HookEm (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23HookEm&src=hash)#txhsfb (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23txhsfb&src=hash)

24/7 reporting that Texas may be trying to steal DE Matt Dimon of Katy away from OU. Sounds like he'd be very receptive if things got serious.

According to OB A'shawn Robinson talked about his recruitment yesterday... I'm not a member does anyone know what was said?
"Nothing's changed. I'm still committed"
"I'm just making sure I'm making the right decision"
Says he is still in regular communication with Texas and is excited to be playing in the Army All-American Bowl.

I'm thinking about getting a membership for one the recruiting sites. Which one would you guys recommend, ESPN, Rivals or 24/7? I could end up being a subscriber to two of the sites, but I'll figure that out later. So what's your thoughts about the sites?

Basically the difference between them is who breaks the news first. I had 2 months free on 247 and it was alright, I would recommend them if you had to pick one. Overall though I don't think any of them are worth it since any news they post is spread around to the rest of us very quickly through twitter, shaggy, or in this topic.

A few years ago we were recruiting a RB from California and he was the top RB in the nation. As it got closer to his commitment date, Ketch was so over the top in his coverage that I have a feeling he really turned off the family on Texas and pushed him to a commitment to Colorado. After watching what Ketch was doing, i cancelled my subscription and will never subscribe again.

OrangeBloods reporting that OL/DL Andrew Billings has set official visits to TCU (January 11th) and Baylor (January 25th). Looking more and more like a National Signing Day decision.

Here's a quote from an anonymous source on DE Matt Dimon's recruitment (24/7):
“If Texas offered Matt, he would drop OU with quickness,” the source said. “He and his family really like Texas. Growing up all the kids wanted to be Longhorns if they could play at the next level, Matt especially.”

Per 24/7, JUCO WR Quantavius Leslie of Hinds CC did not sign with LSU in time to enroll for the spring semester. Being from Georgia originally, Texas' chances with Leslie remain slim but this has bought UT some more time if they decide to continue recruiting him.

Quotes from 2014 DE Solomon Thomas of Coppell (24/7):
“Coach (Darrell) Wyatt stopped by originally,” explained Thomas. “Then Coach (Oscar) Giles and Coach Wyatt stopped by again recently, like a week or so before we got out for Christmas break. I’ve also been talking to Coach Giles on Facebook a lot, along with Coach (Mack) Brown as well.”
“They definitely let me know that they want me,” Thomas said. “They basically ask how I’m doing and tell me to keep working hard and continue to get better. They explain to me that they really want me and they say they need me.”
“I talk to Lorenzo (Joe) quite a bit,” said Thomas. “He works on me and tries to recruit me for Texas. He’s always asking what’s up with my decision and is always telling me that Texas is the place I need to be.”
“I’ll be going to one of the junior days at Texas,” he told Hookem.com. “I’m actually going to try and go to all the local schools like Texas, Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M. I know I won’t be able to make all of those, but I would like to. I’d also like to possibly go to Alabama, Notre Dame and Oregon.”
"I’m going to sit down and have a lot of good talks with my family about everything,” said Thomas. “Ideally I’d like to come out with a top 10 right after our Christmas Break. There’s a chance my coaches might ask me to wait until after spring ball, but I’m shooting for here in the next few weeks.”
“I know it wasn’t exactly the season they wanted, but in my opinion it was still a good season,” he explained. “They had a good winning record and made a bowl game, with the chance to improve on that record. I know they’ll continue to get better each year.”

I thought the offense struggled a bit early but as soon as they adjusted with the hurry up things really got rolling. The play calling seemed more straight forward too...especially in the second half. Adjusting to those called runs for Ash kept the momentum rolling. There were very few, if any adjustments on offense during the regular season.
Yes, the QB for Oregon St. was balls but the whole defense seemed energized by Okafor's beasting. That pocket collapsed in a hurry on almost every pass play. The young LB's made some good reads and the DB's looked better too.

I hated the offensive play TBH. Not impressed at all for 3/4 of the game.
The defense still has problems controlling gaps and staying disciplined in the running game defense.
Ash is still just a guy. An upgrade is badly needed. He has too many stretches where he is an average or below average player. Way too many check-downs until the fourth quarter.

I was at the game last night. A tale of two halfs. Ash and the UT defense did come up big when it counted and credited to them.
But I was shocked at two things from Oregon State: How totally shitty their QB is and how incompetent Mike Riley was. From that first totally stupid INT that kid threw, to his bad passes, holding the ball too long, etc. I bet he only threw/completed 4-5 strong passes. Second, why would Mike Riley keep him in the pocket and call deep pass routes all night long? Or, not call on screens (aside from that one TE screen that worked), shorter passes, or draws. Or, put a fucking back out to help block Okafor? Or, when UT would substitute on offense, Oregon would not sub on defense which would have slowed the pace of that UT hurryup offense. Finally, the scoreboard showed Oregon had one time out left at the end of the second quarter that the Oregon QB tried to stop the clock with a spike. If that scoreboard was correct and Oregon didnt use that time out, then they missed out on a FG attempt.
Good win for UT especially in view of the very bad year they had. But keep in mind, UT beat a bunch of 2 stars and a few 3 stars with a head coach that was half brain dead.
Edit: I just went to a couple of Oregon St boards and they are also incensed with Riley. And he did waste a time out at the end of the second which would have allowed a FG attempt. Also, the Oregon fans are incensed that Riley did not pull the starting QB and replace him with the back up who has had plenty of play time.
This is the second game in two days where bad coaching occurred. The Minnesota coached went brain dead in the fourth qtr against Texas Tech helping them to a victory.

He's pretty bad, but not as bad a M. Thompson at Safety on defense. The guy just freezes up whenever the play could be a run or a pass. He's so slow to react and his tackling is horrible. He's a good athlete, but defense is not his thing.

No. As good as he may be, every single offensive lineman and quarterback that come to Texas have to redshirt. I don't have any stats but I can't think of many true freshman offensive linemen that come in and play really well.
Something has to be done about Espinosa though. I'm not sure our coaches are willing to bench him but maybe Major and Searels figure it out.
Move Walters to center and bring Flowers in or put Flowers at center. Curtis Riser redshirted, maybe he can step in. Just do anything.

A lot of guys with a lot of stars beside their names have been through Austin the last 4 years who simply are not that great. SMUs current quarterback was the #1 or #2 QB recruit in the country in 2009, but how'd he do at UT?
The lack of quality contributions from the 2008-2010 recruiting classes hurt this program significantly.
If Dominic Espinosa was the #1 center coming out of high school, that's fine and dandy. I watch the games and I see a guy getting beat too often - a guy lacking strength at the point of attack for run blocking - a guy lacking the athletic ability to recover and get in front of a rusher. I don't like him as a player right now. I just hope there are other guys on the 40 acres that can come in and take the center job next year.

Some quotes from A'Shawn Robinson to Rivals.
"My commitment has been really solid a whole year," Robinson said. "It's been pretty cool going out to see some games and talking to some of my friends who go there and just being around the players and coaches and stuff."
"I was interested but I didn't really get to go see them (Alabama) because I had family issues," Robinson said. "I have the chance to go see them now, so I'm going to go see them ? (and) see if I'm making the right decision."
"They (Texas) were the first school to start talking to me and the first school to offer me," Robinson said. "I like the environment down there and the players, so I was like just get on board and go to Texas."
"It's solid (the commitment), solid as a rock," Robinson said.
Also said that he's going to visit Alabama on Jan. 18 and closes out with a Texas visit on Jan. 25.

Didn't catch much of morning session, but Tyrone Swoopes threw a nice wheel route to Thomas Tyner that was dropped. #ArmyBowl (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23ArmyBowl&src=hash)
(247)
-Tyrone Swoopes is struggling a bit with intermediate throws
-Jake Raulerson has good footwork but he's used to being the strongest kid. He just got driven back pretty easily
-Kent Perkins us what you draw up in an OT. Long and lean with a great frame and real good feet. Could stand to add some more upper body mass but that will come at Texas.
-Altee Tenpenny with a nice wheel route from Swoopes.
-[Jake Oliver] is the most polished of the West WRs. Catching everything smoothly and precise rouge runner.

He's a man and possibly 40. I really hope we can keep him, i'm glad his last visit is to Texas.
He and Kent Perkins were two of the top performers in practice today.
-DT A'Shawn Robinson (http://247sports.com/Player/AShawn-Robinson-11314), Fort Worth (Texas) Arlington Heights – The Texas commit is ranked as the No. 3 offensive tackle in the country but he was flat out dominant at defensive tackle on Monday. It will be hard for the Longhorn coaches to keep him away from that side of the ball. Robinson compares favorably with LSU defensive tackle Anthony Johnson in that they are both incredibly athletic for their size. In fact, Robinson even played some defensive end in practice.
The 6-foot-5, 302-pound defender was a force in the middle and only got beat once in one-on-ones – and that was by fellow top performer Boutte – as he used his lower body strength to bulrush as well as his quickness to beat the offensive linemen off the ball.
-OT Kent Perkins (http://247sports.com/Player/Kent-Perkins-229), Dallas (Texas) Lake Highlands – The Texas commit looks most like a prototypical offensive tackle of any of the linemen in the game. The 6-foot-6, 285-pound prospect spent the day at right tackle and that is probably his future position but he showed quick feet on screen passes and moved well in dropping back into pass protection.
Perkins has a very quick drop step in pass pro that allows him to cut off the quick edge rushers. He fires off low and keeps his legs moving in the run game too. He needs to add some muscle mass in his upper body but he is very good technique-wise at this point.
Also
It may have been the rain or it may have been being rusty from too much time off from the regular season but all three quarterbacks were erratic on the day. All three had their moments but LSU commit Hayden Rettig (http://247sports.com/Player/Hayden-Rettig-14778) was the most consistent of the bunch. USC commit Max Browne (http://247sports.com/Player/Max-Browne-12753) and Texas commit Tyrone Swoopes (http://247sports.com/Player/Tyrone-Swoopes-13061) both missed their targets badly quite a few times.

He was interviewed by Texas today, per OrangeBloods.
Known as an absolute stud of a recruiter in Houston, East Texas, Louisiana and other parts of the Southeast. With that being said, he's been known to have had shady dealings while on the LSU staff so this one is kind of surprising knowing how Mack operates. My first thought is it's a move to counter A&M's recruiting momentum in the state.

"Well, what I’m about to say doesn’t make much sense, but I’d like to get your thoughts anyway. I would never suggest such an outlandish thing if it didn’t come from an unbiased, yet blow you away type of source. This is a hall of fame football coach talking with someone close to the Texas program. He says the day after the National Championship game, Nick Saban is getting on a plane to fly to Austin to sign a contract to coach the Longhorns. There wasn’t any discussion of money or terms, but the source was matte of fact an unemotional apparently. I don’t buy it and risk being laughed at, but the source of rumor is unreal. More on Larry Porter from 24/7...he's arriving in Austin tomorrow and will get to work right away. He should be in the office for most of the weekend going over film of the current UT players, 2013 prospects and 2014 prospects. He's been recruiting Texas and Louisiana for Arizona State so he's already familiar with a lot of these players. He'll be on the road next week and it sounds like he'll be let loose in the Houston and Golden Triangle areas where he has several connections going back to his LSU days. Seeing several opinions that the Porter hire was clearly a big recruiting move by Mack in hopes to get momentum back on Texas' side. In 2011, he was named by Rivals as their "Recruiter of the Decade."

More on RB Mark Dodson, Jr. from OrangeBloods...Larry Porter did talk to him last night and made the offer. They've known each other since Porter was the head coach at Memphis. Sounds like Dodson is pretty torn on what to do but is looking into making an official visit to Texas next week since he's already done with high school. Dodson's coach told him that Porter had called to talk and Dodson had no idea that Porter left Arizona State for Texas. Once he realized this, he called Porter back right away.

"He (Larry Porter) called me last night and offered," Dodson said. "I was shocked. I didn't even know he had accepted the job at Texas. I didn't even know they were looking at me. I was clueless."
"My coach texted me yesterday and told me Texas was trying to get in touch with me. He sent me coach Porter's number. I thought it was a mistake. I didn't even know he was at Texas."
"It's really hard. It's a tough decision," Dodson Jr. said. "Growing up, I always liked the Florida Gators and the Longhorns. It's kind of a hard decision right now."
"I know Texas is a good place. I know it's a good school. If I make a decision, I would want to enroll early no matter where I go. Coming in early will play a major role because it really gives you a chance to play early," Dodson Jr. said.
"I'll talk to my coach about everything. It's hard on him too. I talked to some of my teammates after Texas offered. They all started laughing, telling me it's a hard decision. It's Texas. If they offer, you have to look at it. You can get a lot of exposure at the University of Texas."

-The biggest piece of news is a sophomore being invited to Junior Days. 2015 CB Kendall Sheffield of Fort Bend Marshall says he will be in Austin in February. No word if there is a plan to have separate days for 2014s and 2015s. We'll see who else gets invited.

Quotes from OT Laremy Tunsil (24/7). He has four official visits set up between now and National Signing Day (not including Texas). Won't be a surprise if he never makes it to Austin. He spoke with Stacy Searels over the phone on Friday.
“I'm going to go see how the facilities are, how the atmosphere is and the education,” Tunsil said. “Get a good view to see if they're good enough to put them in my top schools.”
“We've got to build that relationship,” Tunsil said. “The first conversation (with Stacy Searels) went good, so we'll see where it goes.”
“Everything,” Tunsil said when asked what he liked about Texas. “I think it was the coach (Mack Brown). It helps them that he's still there.”

There's a new OL prospect on the radar, per 24/7. OG/C Rami Hammad of Irving High (currently committed to Baylor) is likely to be offered soon. This is an interesting move because it could be linked to the recruitment of OL/DL Andrew Billings. Either Texas doesn't feel good about Billings at the moment or they'd like to bring in another interior prospect so that Billings can have a legit shot to play DT as that's the position he's always preferred. Hammad was hooked up with the Texas staff through LB Naashon Hughes. Both guys played in the lesser known Semper Fi all-star game in Arizona on Friday night. Hammad's high school coach is the father of FB Alex De La Torre.
“Naashon had been telling the Texas coaches about me this week,” said Hammad. “He was talking to Coach (Stacy) Searels about me and telling him that they needed to take a look at me. Coach Searels told Naashon to give me his number and that we could go from there after I call him.”
“He (Searels) said that he really liked me and that Texas was definitely interested in me,” Hammad explained. “Coach Searels said he was sorry that they didn’t begin to recruit me sooner, but that he liked me a lot and that they need another offensive lineman. He told me I could be that guy and that they might offer after he watches my tape again.”
“I’ve called him back and now I’m waiting on an email from him,” Hammad told Hookem.com. “We’re supposed to discuss everything in detail next time we talk. He’s going to tell me the plans they have and we’ll see where things stand after that.”
“I’m pretty solid to Baylor at the moment,” he said. “But I will say that I’ll never reject an offer, especially from a school like Texas. They have a solid reputation for winning games and getting championships. If they offer, then I definitely want to go take a visit and see them at least. I’m not going to tell them no.”

I've read a report that Sumlin pulled the scholarship of WR commit Quincy Adeboyejo. I'm sure that there will be a lot of happy HS coaches around the state.
Sumlin has to be smart about what scholarships to pull off. Not just the weaker players will go but also he can't pull scholarships from the very talented HSs bc he will be burning a lot of bridges.

Anyhow, it should be interesting to see how Sumlin handles the influx of players in the next month. No doubt he offered a few guys too early but he didn't realize the type of success he was about to have either. Continuing to take on receivers when you know you already have disgruntled ones can leave a bad taste in some peoples mouth just the same, but the scholarship offer was not pulled.

He's been flirting around with de-committing for awhile now so I see how this happened.
A&M really wanted LB Isaac Savaniaiaea from Hawaii but he recent;y said he was waiting until NSD to announce. Sumlin's crunching numbers like crazy right now so he is not willing to wait that long. That's why he went and took Mastrogiovanni instead. Adeboyejo has been talking about how upset he is that A&M was taking on 8 receivers and we just landed #9 yesterday. Sumlin knew he was upset and didn't want a last minute flip when he has so many guys still in play. the reality is if the ags get better talent and offer to let him consider other options b/c they loaded up on the position - i don't think that is necessarily wrong (if done it in a tactful way).
and don't forget when thomas johnson was told we were not taking another WR and then we took marcus johnson. i was not a fan of that.

This is just speculation but I feel that after Quincy openly criticized A&M for signing 8 WR's we contacted and told him we were not taking anymore and he cooled off. Then yesterday WR Tony Stevens commits and that's how he felt he was shafted. Stevens isn't a player you turn down though. Tough situation.

Update on OL Rami Hammad (24/7):
“We talked some more today,” Hammad told Hookem.com on Sunday evening. “It sounds like I’ll most likely be getting the offer. Coach Searels wants to double check and run everything by Coach (Mack) Brown again to make sure everything is good about scholarship numbers first. Then they’ll meet with me and I’ll either go visit them or they’ll come visit with me at home. He said we should have all this settled within the next week or two.”
“I feel like I’ll probably get the offer,” explained Hammad. “Through my recruiting process, I’ve gotten a good feel on who sounds very interested and who isn’t. I can tell Texas is definitely interested and this is all legit.” “I’d for sure visit,” he said. “I would probably go up there with my coach, Coach De La Torre. He knows Texas very well, because his son Alex plays for the Longhorns.”
“Growing up as a kid all I heard about were the Longhorns,” said Hammad. “Throughout my entire recruiting process, especially early on, I had really hoped and wished to get an offer from Texas, so it’s great that’s happening. Also, right now I really like their offensive line class that they already have committed that are going there. I’m a mean, nasty player, and the guys going there already can relate to that. My dream besides getting a college education and going to the NFL, is to play next to a group of guys in college that are a bunch of studs. I want to create a reputation across the nation as an offensive line group similar to what Alabama has now. We could do that at Texas.”
“I did have an in home visit with them (Baylor) on Saturday,” Hammad said. “That visit went really well. The entire Texas situation did come up and they were definitely worried about it. You know how that goes.”

Per 24/7, JUCO OL Desmond Harrison could make a decision as early as this week. Some quotes from his coach:
“Texas is definitely right up there,” Carter told Hookem.com. “He feels very comfortable there. He says that it just feels natural there, because that’s where he’s from. He’s originally from Houston, so he feels at home. He described it as a natural fit to me. So I think because of that they’re right on up there for him.”
“They’ve stayed in contact as much as they possibly can,” Carter said of the Texas coaches. “Coach Bo Davis and Coach Stacy Searels have been on their A-game when it comes to his recruitment. They’ve done an excellent job in talking to him, alleviating any concerns he or his family had and staying in contact with me. They’ve been very, very professional about it all.”

TFloss, can you, or someone else for that matter, make som kind of list with remaining targets? I mean, there's about a month to Signing Day, so it would be good to get a view off who the staff is still pursuing. Isn't there about 10 players out there with an offer, or potentially an offer?
QB/ATH Nick Marshall
RB Ke'Aun Kinner
RB Mark Dodson Jr. (Ole Miss)
WR James Clark
OL Desmond Harrison
OL Rami Hammad (Baylor)
OL Laremy Tunsil
OL/DL Andrew Billings
LB De'Vondre Campbell
S Shaquille Fluker (Georgia)
Am I missing anyone?
Looks good. I'dd add WR Robbie Rhodes as Texas isn't giving up there. JUCO WR Quantavius Leslie is a guy who they may continue to work on and they're looking into WR Sebastian LaRue from Santa Monica, CA.
I'm not positive where things stand with S Shaq Fluker, but I do know he's not enrolling at Georgia for the spring semester. And FYI that RB Ke'Aun Kinner has until April 1st to sign his Letter of Intent. As long as he passes his ACT, there shouldn't be a problem getting him to Austin.

Mack better let Wylie rip him a new one. Hoping Case calls it quits.
Pretty interesting comparison:
It's unreal the similarities betweeen Mack's first year at Texas and Sumlin's first year at Texas A&M.
To start, they both coached heisman trophy winners. Both those players went on to set conference rushing records. They both beat OU by 4 TD's in the Cotton Bowl. In addition, they both snapped the longest current home winning streak that year with Texas winning at Nebraska and A&M winning at #1 Alabama (yes I will give you more credit for that win than ours). Then to top it all off, they both won in the cotton bowl classic against former conference coaching foes with Texas beating cheating Jackie Sherrill (former coach at Texas A&M in the 80's for all you kids born in the 90's) and Texas A&M beating Bob Stoops.
To end it all off, Sumlin will probably have a top 5 recruiting class and Texas ended the year in recruiting with a top 5 class. I just hope for Aggieland's sake in that class they don't get the second coming of Chris Simms.

Simms wasn't a bad QB
He was only disappointing when compared to the hype he had coming in. He couldn't beat Oklahoma and had a .500 winning record in bowl games. He did beat LSU and Nick Saban in his last game. Every year he was at Texas he got better and better, by his senior year, he was a very solid QB.
I don't care what he did as a pro, he showed real heart and took way too much blame for our struggles against Oklahoma.

FYI that Curtis Luper (former RBs coach of Auburn under Chizik) has interviewed for the same position at TCU. Jeff Banks, former UTEP Special Teams Coordinator will take the same position at A&M taking Brian Polian's spot who recently left to be the head coach at Nevada.
Reports are that Jake Spavital, current West Virginia QB coach will soon join A&M in the same position which was recently vacated by Kliff Kingsbury. Seems Clarence McKinney will continue to be the A&M play-caller going into next season. Sumlin likes to find young up and comers and groom them into his system like Kingsbury and it seems Spavital is the perfect candidate for that. Young, bright, coached Geno Smith and tons of potential. Love him teaming up with Manziel.

It sounds like TCU has the edge and he's always liked them.
It does look a little desperate that Mack/Texas have contacted these guys even if they're just doing their due diligence. When you fart around for three years and lose games you shouldn't, you're eventually going to have to dig deeper for prospects. The bright side is this requires a step up in the evaluation/recruiting process instead of Mack going about things in a way that have annoyed fans for years. He no longer seems to have the grip on in-state recruiting that he's accustomed to so it's forcing him to work at it and go against his own ways (JUCO prospects, offering before visits, offering sophomores, etc.).
I wouldnt be surprised. Where did he said that?
I don't recall him putting that label on Adeboyejo, but he did say he'd get a nice bump in his next rankings. I think most everyone is in agreement that Rhodes is holding down that top WR spot in Texas.

I hope that you know that I was just kidding. But glad you ask, the answer is YES. As TFloss said, we were very stacked and he was not happy about it.
Thomas Johnson was told the staff was done WR recruiting with exception of DGB as possibility. Then shortly after we flipped Marcus Johnson and that went over like a turd in the punch bowl.

@schadjoe (https://twitter.com/schadjoe) Texas WR Mike Davis said he changed his mind and will stay at Texas and not enter next NFL Draft.
Interesting about Davis. Good thing he didn't immediately hire an agent (I'm assuming).

Matt Wallerstedt has turned down Texas Tech's offer to be defensive coordinator and will remain LB coach at A&M. Very good news for us.
TFloss - is there any more news about A'Shawn Robinson? Do you expect him to sign with yall?

Orangebloods and Hornsnation both reporting that its very likely that he ends up at Texas. He is still visiting Alabama and Texas. He was also quoted as saying, "Im hard commit to Texas."
Hope this sticks.
I thought he was gone to USC before they really fell off. Helps that they suck and look to remain that way for a few years.

Some updates from 24/7...
-WR Sebastian LaRue of Santa Monica, CA has been hearing a lot more from Texas in the past few weeks and is looking into an official visit to Austin right before National Signing Day. He's scheduled to see A&M on January 18th but there's been a lot of chatter back and forth about whether he'll actually visit.
-Texas is planning to go by Irving High on Tuesday to see OG/C Rami Hammad.
-UT is closer to offering 2014 OL Terrell Cuney of Jasper. Stacy Searels will be at his high school on Monday.

Contrary to earlier reports, A&M LB coach Matt Wallerstedt has reportedly now accepted the DC position at Texas Tech. Looks like Kingsbury didn't have any other options and convinced Tech to open up the check book for Wallerstedt. It was reported yesterday that he had turned down the job and A&M matched what Tech was offering $ wise.
Kenny Hill is on an official visit at Baylor this weekend as well. Something to follow.

Quotes from OL Rami Hammad. I highlighted one of the quotes below because I've seen rumors that Hammad would commit to UT once offered and all of these other visits wouldn't happen.
"Super crazy for like the last two weeks," Hammad said. "It was chill until the Semper Fi game and then afterwards I blew up."
"This is what I'm thinking, nothing is official yet," Hammad. "I'm thinking Ole Miss (official visit) Wednesday, Oklahoma this weekend. Texas is coming by Tuesday. Texas is going to get the first visit so that might bump OU. Until then OU, then after that TCU, and then Baylor official-wise."
"It was close to home and it was my first offer (Baylor) and the education part they had what I wanted to study which is kinesiology," Hammad said. "One thing that's really attractive is the past five years they've put o-linemen in the NFL."
"It's truly a blessing," Hammad said, "but crazy though."
