Not to get into evolution, but for example, evolution can not prove that we evolved from apes. "missing link" is a real thing... does that mean species don't evolve? No, there is tons of evidence that supports evolution, but we do not have all the necessary links from ape to man, nor the links from "primordial soup" to ape. These lines get blurred by the scientists and politicians, yet it gets pushed.

... and there it is. Two misstatements about the science and a false equivocation fallacy. The "human agenda" meme that gets pushed has, at its core, ignorance and flawed reasoning.

Let's start with ignorance, and work from there. I have rarely heard anyone expressing skepticism about science that actually understood it to any reasonable degree.

Humans didn't evolve from apes. Humans and apes evolved from a common ancestor.

We have the missing links.

if you want to think there is some agenda here, yet can't be bothered to actually understand the theory or evidence, I guess that is your prerogative. I would recommend reading a bit more on the subject.

Lastly, not all evidence and science is created equal.

Trying to say that people who doubt the large consensus of science and experts are somehow on the same footing just because there is some disagreement misses this huge problem with their reasoning.

There is evidence that says the earth is flat.
There is evidence that says the earth is an oblate spheroid.

Are these two theories somehow equally valid? Why or why not?

Didn’t say evolution does not exist. Genetics prove it

I am saying there is not enough evidence to confirm people evolved directly from apes. Please show me where I am wrong. Please show me the “science” and I will humbly concede

Not going to try to prove something that the science isn't trying to say.

1. Did we evolve from monkeys?

Humans did not evolve from monkeys. Humans are more closely related to modern apes than to monkeys, but we didn't evolve from apes, either. Humans share a common ancestor with modern African apes, like gorillas and chimpanzees. Scientists believe this common ancestor existed 5 to 8 million years ago. Shortly thereafter, the species diverged into two separate lineages. One of these lineages ultimately evolved into gorillas and chimps, and the other evolved into early human ancestors called hominids.

You can start from about 6M years ago to present day homo sapiens.

We have more than enough to flesh this stuff out to a reasonable degree.

The left has no problem ignoring basic biology. Both sides ignore science when it fits their agenda. But I don't disagree with you assessment regarding the right.

The left does not ignore basic biology. Feel free to provide an example.

The right has no problem forming just about every argument they have as a strawman though.

COVID-19 CASES IN TEXAS HAVE INCREASED BETWEEN 20% TO 30% AFTER STAY-AT-HOME MEASURES WERE LIFTED

— In Texas, COVID-19 cases have been up between 20% and 30% since stay-at-home measures were lifted on May 1, according to CNN (https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/15/health/us-coronavirus-friday/index.html).

On Thursday, there were 58 new deaths in Texas, the state's highest one-day increase in deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, according to CNN.

There have been more than 45,200 cases of COVID-19 in Texas and 1,256 deaths, according to The New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/us/texas-coronavirus-cases.html).

Both the right and the left spin their "experts" to support their cause.

You are right, science should be black or white and should not have any political favor, but when you have institutions supported by the state or UN, it becomes tainted. When hospitals' funding depends on a specific cause of death or diagnosis, that encourages dishonest "science"

We certainly should be able to look at science for the truth... problem is, humans have to much power to influence it.

PEOPLE promoting science is what is being questioned and it should be.

Yes we do and we are finding new ones all the time.
Your problem is that you dont understand evolution.
Its not a straight line thing that MUST lead to modern humans.

We are still trying to figure out the dead ends and finding new things all the time that change the picture.
The things you call Apes are here today, they were not around when modern humans evolved, they evolved as well. We call them apes because they are apelike, just like we are. And there are fossils we COULD theoretically find that would say humans do look like they just appear out of nowhere, but they dont exist so far.
And most evolutionary scientist doubt very much we will find anything that would question what we accept right now.

Humans evolved from an ape-like ancestor. The tree is still being built because evidence keeps coming in.

So your bias is already on display.

Of course, shitbag Repugs in shithole Texas would be lying

Is Texas Inflating Its COVID-19 Testing Numbers by Including Antibody Tests?

The state health department is including some antibody test results in its case totals,

potentially clouding information on the current spread of the virus.

helps pad testing numbers while giving the public a distorted view of the current spread of the virus.

co-mingling of the two types of tests raises questions about the validity of the state’s data,

which has influenced efforts, largely by Republican (https://www.texasobserver.org/texas-economy-greg-abbott-coronavirus/) government officials, to quickly reopen the state’s economy (https://www.texasmonthly.com/politics/greg-abbott-reopening-texas-too-early/).

DSHS confirmed to the Observer that the agency includes “some antibody results” in its official statistics.

This opacity is part of a broader patchwork of county and state data that fails to accurately track COVID-19.

DSHS data

excludes some positive cases in prisons (https://www.texasobserver.org/covid-19-texas-undercount-prisoners/),

significantly undercounting total infections in at least two East Texas counties,

State officials have also

declined to release information about infections in other major outbreak centers,

like nursing homes (https://www.propublica.org/article/texas-still-wont-say-which-nursing-homes-have-covid-19-cases-families-are-demanding-answers) and meat processing plants, and

have not released detailed racial and ethnic breakdowns (https://www.texasobserver.org/covid-19-racial-disparities-texas-legislature/) of cases and deaths around the state.

Lots to think about with the govt and personal response to the virus. If you own a property and someone isn't paying their rent, there's a point where you run out of money too, I'm sure this is just another headline taken out of context. Its actually quite a lengthy process to evict in many states and laws for the vast majority over protect the renter not the landlord.

While the positive numbers and deaths are increasing, Abbott has consistently stressed the state’s death rate is far below most other states and the state still has plenty of hospital beds and ventilators available. Texas has 1,791 people hospitalized and has more than 17,000 available beds still.

Wow... 17,000 available hospital beds for 30M+ people.

Abbott is betting Republican control of the state on modern epidemiology being wrong about the behavior of this thing. It will be grim business when reality strikes back.

Wrong. How long does it take to evict someone in Texas? From start to finish approximately three weeks • 3 days from notice to vacate to filing of suit • 8-10 days to serve the citation -The law requires the defendant have a least six days no more than 10 days notice before the hearing.

Interesting. I wonder how sensitive that is to states hiding nursing home deaths and cases. Looks like the social distancing and so forth we are all doing seems to have had the desired effect.

A lot of those graphs had lines for reopening, and the data hasn't been updated in about a week. Even in states have had official steps taken at reopening, a lot of people have kept hunkering down, so it will be hard to tell exactly what the effect of reopening is going to have on a consistent basis.

I am guessing that trying to return to mostly normal is going to cause a very predictable uptick in most places. Funny that solid red states seem to inhabit most of the slots on the right side of that list.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick laughs at Texans’ fear to vote in person during a pandemic

said Friday that efforts to expand mail-in voting during the coronavirus amount to a “scam by Democrats to steal the election” and

claimed that people under 65 are at more risk of dying in a car wreck on the way to vote than they are from dying from the new coronavirus because they voted in person.

Repugs do not want a high turnout to scuttle the years of successfully suppressing, disenfranchising voters in slave state Texas.

Shithole TX Repugs only took a couple hours to react, they were primed, after SCOTUS gutted the Voting Rights Act.

"During a news conference on Friday, Mayor Turner said he will not extend any resources to enforce citations if a bar or restaurant is caught not following the 25 percent capacity rule.

"Like I said, we will go out there, we will ensure that we are having conversations with the business owners to try to provide a safe environment for those establishments, but that is our only focus - education and information," Houston Fire Department Chief Samuel Peña said.

The mayor mentioned two incidents where the city attempted to enforce the governor's order, but was sued in both cases. Turner said in those instances, the city did not receive backup from the governor or the state.

"Once we see that the state is willing to enforce its own order, then we will enforce the order," Turner said. "But, what we don't want to do, we don't want the city of Houston to be caught in between."..."

"SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) Sherman and Denison made the New York Times over the weekend, in an article detailing cities with the highest daily growth number of COVID-19 positive cases, in the nation.

The article says Sherman and Denison are among the top leading metro cities across the country to have a spike in positive cases within the last two weeks.

The New York Times reports that Sherman and Denison have a growth rate of 10%.

After reading the article, Grayson County Judge Bill Magers said the numbers are not community spread and the city has identified where the new positive cases came from.

"We're going to more positives in Grayson County, that's just the nature of the beast," Magers said.

"But because of our proactive health department, (and) because of the things we are doing with the state, we're following the governor’s protocols, I am not alarmed by these numbers. I'm disappointed, as everyone should be, but again we are working with these industries to identify these individuals and separate them from the community, so I think we're going to be just fine," Magers said.

The article continues to update and as of Tuesday, Sherman-Denison had the second highest rate of positive cases per day..."

Texas sees a record spike in coronavirus cases amid protests

The number of positive cases of the coronavirus has been increasing in Texas, particularly in Harris County and Dallas County.
Dallas County hit a single-day high on Thursday with 285 new cases while Harris County recorded 222.
Concerns over a spike in new coronavirus cases have also risen amid widespread protests over police brutality across the US. (https://www.businessinsider.com/us-states-response-george-floyd-protests-curfews-national-guard-2020-6)
Texas is currently entering its third phase of reopening.

the state reached its second-highest rate of hospitalizations in a single day, with 1,878 people.

Their seven-day positivity rate is now surging from 4.27 percent on May 26 to 7.55 percent on June 6.

Austin reported a steep increase in COVID-19 cases (https://cbsaustin.com/news/local/austin-sees-dramatic-rise-in-covid-19-cases-since-economy-started-reopening), setting a record for the most cases reported in one week.

I asked you specifically about Houston and made no argument.

You've been at this for months and still don't actually answer any questions. It's your tell.

I've already explained this to you. But still, you do not understand. I told you it more than likely could be hot spot chasing, or as I have told you before it is only reporting sero positive tests as NEW cases and not reporting the negative sero tests. This is what is happening with he "explosion" in Arizona.

Data fraud because it allows lazy people like you to post graphs that don't include all the data (like you did above missing days lol) to get an emotional gossiping response.

You specifically asked me to help you learn this, but you don't take notes or do any work on your own. Your laziness = incompetence.

Data fraud because they do not clarify the data and allow people like you, who have already stated that current data is not needed in science (yes you said that), to make completely illogical analysis.
You are using daily case numbers to project a path (illogical) without having accurate or reliable data (illogical) to do so. Kind of funny you're still on it. But sad too

All you have to say is you don't have the numbers either. All I asked was if I have to wait more days. Your answer is yes unless you have the actual missing numbers, which you do not and never will.

"Some infectious disease experts say hospitalization numbers could be a better way to track a state’s reopening performance since it’s more difficult to skew than testing data, which fluctuates depending on how many tests are being run.

“Looking at things like how many ICU admissions and deaths are probably some of the strongest and most reliable (data points) because they are the worst outcomes that could happen,” said Dr. David Hardy, an adjunct professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine who specializes in infectious diseases...."
