We heard, we don't trust him. Mostly since he was blowing his load too much yesterday.

He's a local guy with solid connections. He's the one who broke the Nash-to-LA trade.

This is what I feared, that plus losing Danny (Which they did not thank GOD). Splitter gone and now Baynes and if they miss out on LMA the once great offseason turns into pretty much a loss.

With TD a year older and having to shoulder more of a load on both ends down low without Splitter...ugly scenario, tbh.

It hasn't happened yet - nothing final. If he does reach an agreement, I really think that means LMA is gone. But until then I think POR has a very good shot.

Their moves have shown they are still ready to not take a step back IMO. Sure they lost Batum, but he was up and down. They lost Wes, but he may never be the same anyways.

They replaced Wes/Batum with Aminu/Henderson/Vonleh/Plumlee/Ed Davis - I don't see that being a step back especially if LMA/RL both re-sign.

Batum when healthy was very good IMO and Wes was out late last year I know but he also was a key part to the team. I think they took a few steps back losing the, if Lopez bolts forget it. I thought LMA said he was not returning to Portland already? I don't see why he would go back there honestly but you never know (That 5th year maybe does it).

I agree on that last part, if they both re sign they are not much worse off, infact they are about even with last year IMO.

It's over. Sure, the Morris' are immature idiots, so maybe they wanted to break them up, but I've got to believe Marcus has enough value to not be a straight salary dump . . . in other words, I can't see them doing this trade based on a hunch.

I'm confident the Spurs will sign West, but even so, let's hope the Splitter trade was contingent on Aldridge signing or they're screwed.

They just got an asset for the lesser Morris, crap and TOSB, so why in hell would it require belief to think they can't flip Markieff, the better Morris, to a desperate team for nothing at least, if not maybe a late 1st, or for Chandler as discussed above.

Markieff is 24, is in the first year of a very reasonable 8-per year contract, and over the last two years has averaged 17 ppg, 7 rpg and 2.5 apt on 47% FG per-36.

Suns can trade him far easier than they traded Marcus and filler.

They need a closer, if that's the case. More often than not the sale goes to the best pitch; not the best product. That's why (good) salesmen are so well compensated - I could definitely see the Spurs (Pop) just laying it out there, and expecting that to be enough; it should be, but it often isn't.

However, in a deal this big, after the dust has settled, I expect that LMA will take a breath, come to his senses, and make the choice that is best for his situation. If the Suns are indeed front-runners right now, then they are simply where the Spurs were 24 hours ago....another 24 hours, and who knows.

Look, same logic applies here. If you think the Spurs had to do that to "show LMA how serious they were and have less variables" that's the same for the Suns. Especially when the players they moved were Granger who shouldn't be in the NBA, Reggie who doesn't look very good (IMO) and the worst Morris Twin who isn't that good of a player anyways. Not that this is their fault, obviously, but everything's always got to be so difficult with this organization. When all signs pointed toward Howard to the Rockets, he went to the Rockets, with no sign in between that he was ever going to do anything but that. But of course something unexpected had to creep up in this case, because it was about to benefit the Spurs.

If Chandler did the expected, which was stay with the Mavs, get signed and traded to the Clippers or signed with the Bucks, Aldridge to the Spurs would be a virtual lock.
