Not that I think he's worth it, but no reason for him to sign for that little yet as a bunch of teams still have cap space plus MLE. That offer will still be there in a week.
Now that Dallas got Wes Matthews and might end up getting DJ as well, is there any way they could still get Aldridge? I'm worried they might vault to the top of his list after adding those two. Surely there wouldn't be any space left...right?
No way they'd have enough room for three max guys, given Parsons is already getting paid big money too and while Dirk is taking a discount, he's not playing for free. Parsons and Dirk combine for $24 + Wes $15 and DeAndre $18 = $57 million without any other roster pieces.

Also, Charlotte is like Sacramento East. You only sign there if no one else offers. At least you'll still be in the league.

How many minutes are at the 4 though? With LMA only wanting to play PF, do you have West back him up and Duncan / Diaw manning the 5? Diaw creates all kinds of mismatches at the 4 position, not sure I want him relegated to only center...

I have no idea. My guess is a West sort of backs up center because Diaw has three point range. It does seem weird.

If LMA chooses the Spurs I would actually love for him to only do a 2 year deal. There is some risk with LMA's age that he doesn't age well and that the last couple years of a max deal could look ugly. I would absolutely love to just maximize the chances to win for the next two years while having a ton of flexibility 2 years from now as well.
Spurs (especially if the win a title with LMA) would still have the inside track on re-signing him if he's a perfect fit.

Yeah, that's definitely something LMA should consider. The Spurs maxed out Parker coming off a pretty poor season. The Heat had Wade take less two contracts in a row and didn't want to reward him. If it's a choice between which franchise will take care of him the most, there isn't really a discussion.

I don't understand why he would sign a 5 year with Portland anyways. Short of being so badly injured that he's out of the league in 2 years, he'd recoup that money and probably more on his next contract even if he regressed
Yep, this is exactly what I said earlier. The only thing that would even be remotely possible is his heart issue which I believe is now under control. Any long-term injuries and your health is pretty much covered for life from the team anyway.

I don't think him pressuring LaMarcus is beneficial. He's more than likely just following up to make sure LaMarcus got all his questions answered. But you're right, I could be wrong.
He's not pressuring him, at the end of the meeting Pop needs to make the shit or get off the pot statement though. Spurs are 11-14 other players on the team, LMA or anyone else is a cog in the machine.

Lillard wants to hear it from Aldridge himself. Let's say he stays in Portland...Matthews, Batum, and RoLo are gone, that's 60% of your starting lineup (and 80% if Aldridge goes)...Lillard has many years left ahead of him but Aldridge is now reaching the top and is slowly going trail off in the next 2-3 years. Maybe he wants his chance at moving up the NBA legacy, be more than Malone and Barkley and Wilkins and Ewing and so on...
Lillard also wants the limelight, the endorsements, the accolades... he's a good player, but right now he's growing and he's all about himself. I think it's part of the reason LMA felt like leaving....

So tired of refreshing... I wish I could just get a text update when he finally gets off the pot.
