Monroe is the king of empty stats. He's not the kind of player you trade away Splitter for. It would be stupid to trade away Splitter before getting reassurance from the Aldridge camp that a deal is all but signed, sealed and delivered because free agents can't officially sign until the 9th. Asked why teams with no chance take the meetings and stein said something to the effect that it helps teams seem like destinations and legit franchises. He said the clippers point to their meeting with lebron, even though no one thought they had a shot, as one of the turning points to turning their franchises reputation around.
