Someone with a Twitter account can probably ask Bresnahan about that 50/50 number.

BTW, the entire tweet is fucking gold: Lamarcus "disliked the basketball part of the presentation". Isn't that the entire presentation?

Lakers: Lamarcus, you can make a shitload of money here, and we will always have shitloads of money to throw at big names. You can get handjobs from Dyan Cannon during practices. Oh, and you have to play with Kobe and be coached by Byron.

I honestly think this could come down to who the Spurs have sold him on playing C next to going forward. Not only does that appear to be a big deal to him, but the type of one does too. Chandler is a perfect fit and if they keep Len, he could be a solid one too.

I understand why they dumped Splitter over Diaw and came around on it, but as far as selling him, the opposite probably would have been better.

Exactly.

He agreed to meet with certain teams, and he's standing by that and meeting with them all.

Every rumor we hear (even from the 'top' journalists) -- Spurs are front runners, Spurs/Suns are neck-and-neck, Lakers are out -- are just that... rumors.

LMA probably hasn't talked to anyone but his agent at this point about which way he's leaning. So it's all speculation.

Monroe is the king of empty stats. He's not the kind of player you trade away Splitter for. It would be stupid to trade away Splitter before getting reassurance from the Aldridge camp that a deal is all but signed, sealed and delivered because free agents can't officially sign until the 9th. The Spurs would have from now until then to unload Splitter and free up cap space to sign LMA. Another reason why I think he's just posturing.

I think it's clear where he should go. SO yea he'd be stupid if he ain't coming to SA.

It's not that much of a no-brainer.

You could say a lot of negative things on the spurs :
- 1 or 2 more years max for Duncan and maybe Pop
- Ginobili almost done
- Parker maybe (probably?) not the same anymore
- Diaw / Mills / Green etc... all very inconsistent

It leaves Kawhi and a great FO but the FO hasn't draft anyone worthy since 2011 and Kawhi is becoming a good offensive player but you can't yet build an elite offense around him IMO

This is the biggest decision of his basketball life he deserves to listen to everybody he said he would listen to. The fact that he is doing his due diligence and talking to everyone is a good thung. It shows he is a man of his word. He told all those teams he would meet with them and he is. That's a good quality actually.

Portland gotta be the real worry.

I don't think Houston would be bad for him. There he would definitely start to shoot 3s but on a personal level he'll be more of second fiddle to Harden than he was for Lillard.

Maybe even on the KLove in Cleveland scale.

Portland would have known for a while.

They signed Aminu and threw a massive bag of cash at lillard.

Maybe they get a young athletic wing to replace Carroll for cheap? They certainly didn't get hurt too bad by Carroll leaving

Well if Milsap will play a SF it will be all good, but I don't think so. I am sure they gonna get a SF that is a good defender for cheap.

Pretty premature to say Aldridge doesn't want to come here just because he hasn't announced it already. Maybe he just wants to go through with his meetings and then announce. No need to rush. Annoying yes, but drawing up a new narrative because a few hours pass is extreme.

No shit, this site is pretty funny sometimes - half the posters saying he's not coming anymore were talking about their bball boners like 3 hours ago.

Portland would have known for a while.

They signed Aminu and threw a massive bag of cash at lillard.

Yeah it's looking good and I had taken that they were in rebuild mode for a given until just now.

But they can still offer him the most money and there is a chance he just didn't like Batum and won't really mind him being out.

Then there are the rumblings of a trade for Bledsoe (to kind of replace Mathews) who the Portland GM drafted back in the day.

What makes that complicated is the Suns also being interested in LMA lol.

We must be winning this.

Relax people. You're all expecting him to eliminate teams from contention, and doing that would be stupid. Eliminating even one of them gives him less leverage. yea they don't have the money. So Bledsoe's got to go and he was in the meeting with Aldridge. I really don't get what that stupid organization is doing.

This isn't true... Suns can very easily offer Morrii (12 per year), Tucker, Goodwin, and multiple draft picks to Portland rather than Bledsoe. Similarly, they could swap out some picks and add Len, Warren, or rights to Bogdanovic if they needed to.

While it's true the Suns can't sign Aldridge to a 4-year Max outright, their sign/trade offer is very competitive a return for Portland and would net Aldridge a 5-year Max, so money isn't the problem.

Excpt the players you are discussing are not filling Portland's needs. If Aldridge leaves, they probably prefer the cap space over your filler.

Don't fill needs? Two mid-20s SF/PFs to a team who just traded their starting SF, backup SF, and losing starting PF doesn't fill needs? Tucker has a team option to buyout for CAP space, and then the offer includes multiple young prospects and picks.

Considering the Morrii combine to average like 30 ppg, 11 rpg per-36 for just 12-per year, this, plus 1sts makes it a highly attractive package full of small contracts (largest just MLE level) and prospect/1sts which they can then flip or keep as part of a rebuild in wake of all they lost (Matthews, Afflalo, Batum, Aldridge, Lopez).

No, 4 years and 4.5% raises. Same as Spurs would be able to offer assuming they had max cap space.

That's very different than with 7.5% raises. And the fifth year isn't great under the current cap situation and why Portland doesn't have as much leverage even with ability to go five years. Better to opt out in year 4 and get a much higher cap bump.

Sign and trades no longer allow players to sign five year deals or get max raises under the newest CBA. The money for him to leave would be the same either in a sign and trade or in an outright signing.

So I know this will sound like a TSPENCE or other shit throwing against the wall, plus it looks like a real source(s) may he on this.
And this is double hearsay but...

I friend of mine is good friends with LMA's kid's mom. He just got done talking to her and she said that LMA told her the decision has been made. He will be a spur. No word on when he will announce, but she said the decision has been made.

God I hope it's true

Straight from the Baby Mama's mouth? Sounds legit.

If he signs with the Suns, I'd just laugh. I mean, I'm not sold that's even a playoff team since PHX's guards don't really have enough playmaking ability to take advantage of LMA and Chandler.

:lol no way he doesn't just re-sign in Portland with Damian Lillard over playing for the Suns.

In my eyes, the choice for LMA is quite simple: money with the Blazers, rings with the Spurs.

I can't see it. They have to move Bledsoe to make this deal work, they need to clear about $13 million or so to land LMA. And how is someone getting excited about an offense run by Brandon Knight?

Hopefully this is just his agents leaking info to throw the media of the tracks of the truth. I can see Portland, SA, Houston, Lakers, Knicks and maybe even Dallas. But Phoenix? I just don't see how that makes sense. Maybe if they still had Dragic but not now.

Yeah, if you don't go to the team with the winning culture, go to the team that can pay you the most, which is also better than Phoenix. Didn't they get rid of Batum because LMA didn't like him?

The Spurs have Duncan, perimeter talent, and Pop. Plus Diaw, Defensive player of the year and Finals MVP Leonard, defensive ace Green. Plus a track record of good drafting / 16 or so consecutive 50-win seasons, five rings, etc. The Suns are a joke. And Woj is an idiot for crediting those sources.
