Per Inside Texas, 2019 Buford (GA) running back and Texas signee Derrian Brown is making incredible progress and as wild as this sounds there's hope he could practice this fall. We know, it sounds wild but Brown's camp and team sources are cautiously optimistic that he'll return to the field after a red-shirt season.

This is awesome news, can't help but cheer for this kid to make a comeback.

2021 OL Jonah Miller of Tucson, AZ talks about his spring visit to Texas (OrangeBloods).

Teammate of RB Bijan Robinson and S Lathan Ransom.

“It (the Texas offer) meant a lot. It was really cool, really a great experience there,” Miller said. “What stood out was definitely how they care for their players. The NCAA, they can’t pay players at all, so they put all their money into making players’ lives easier. It just feels like a family environment there. It was really cool.”

“I’d say very high,” Miller said of where Texas fits in his big picture. “They made a great impression on me and I loved it there.”

“What pops into my mind when I think of Texas is the stadium. At the spring game, it wasn’t even a full game, but it was pretty electric,” Miller said. “That was pretty cool.”

“I think I’m very efficient in run blocking. I’m skilled at pass pro, feel like my feet are better than a lot of other tackles,” Miller said. “I can get better at pad level, maybe endurance in the fourth quarter.”

If we can get by with just one unexpected conference loss, Oklahoma, goes either way, and beat LSU.
The recruitment will Flowe on its own.

I don't think I worry about anything when it comes to sports, however I do rate our team on 3 levels, is it a playoff level, a conference championship level or below those levels.

On Defense

Defensive Line is Conference Champion level
Linebackers is Unknown
Safety is Playoff level
Corners are Conference Champion level

Offense
QB - Playoff level
RB - Conference Champion Level
WR - Conference Champion Level
Oline - Unknown
TE - Unknown


When it comes to Linebacker, I think we be optimistic that without injuries we have the talent and infusion of juco guys that we can be at a Conference level this season. I feel the same about the oline, but they are going to take longer to come around as most oline's often do. However the wildcard is Parker Braun, if he can come in and be at or close to a conference level we will be in a very good place. Our oline is still one year away from becoming a strength to this team. The funny thing is, Parker wants to redshirt, and our schedule is such that we could play him against LSU, blOwU, the Conference championship game, our bowl game and one other game and still redshirt him while also using him for the games we need him. We have enough talent we don't need him for the rest of our schedule.

As for TE, they are a complete unknown, but we do have some talent I think will step up to give us some good production both in run blocking and in catching the ball.

So here's my question.. Let's just say in all hindsight that he decided not to sign. Two questions I have. 1. How does this effect his eligibility if he was to decide to go back to USC ? And 2 . "Here is where things are at today. McCoy has been back home in SoCal for two weeks. Texas will come out to meet with the family on Wednesday and obviously try and get him to return to campus. At that point, the family will have a discussion about whether to go in to the portal or not. If they decide to do so, my guess is it will happen fairly quickly, by the end of the week and as soon as Thursday and like most people have speculated, I believe that is what the family is leaning on doing.

"Once everything is settled, I’ll have a detailed story on the reasons why McCoy decided to come home (if that is indeed what they decide). I can say this has been a pretty agonizing decision for Bru and the family and they know what an incredible PR hit he’s going to take and how he’s going to be perceived in the national media. I don't know if anyone else said it, but I know that has been my stance for a very long time. This kid is another Adrian Peterson making a business decision. Peterson picked blOwU when everyone thought he was going to pick Texas and he called it a business decision. This is exactly what Evans is doing. He wants to go to a school that has a dominate offensive line and a stable of backs so he doesn't have to carry the load. This kid just wants to get through the next few years without injury so he can take his talent to the NFL. This has been my read on him since his Junior year. Every school he picked has done extremely well with putting running backs in the NFL.

Hands down he is going to Bama with an outside shot at going to LSU.

It was never any skin off my nose, I'm still not convinced he is the best back, Milton is my pick for that but he is close.

The best report I have is that this year there a ton of great RBs out there. Do you guys remember (if you are old enough) the 1983 NFL draft? It was the draft of QBs, there were 5 taken in the first round. The best of the best was John Elway. The last QB taken was the kid from Pitt taken by the Miami Dolphins who ended up making the biggest impact. That was Dan Marino. He became the immediate starter and took the fish to the super bowl against the 49ers.

Don't worry if our Rbs are 5'star or 4'star. There are a lot of kids that have the talent to be immediate starters and make a huge impact, it doesn't have to be Evans or Milton.

My personal favorite is the kid that just committed to Oklahoma, he is the guy I wanted most. The one from Poteet high in McKenney.

Evans basically downplays any success Texas has, so my initial reaction is beating LSU and OU (after already defeating Georgia) won't matter at all.
