I can die peacefully now.

His mom likes our team.
She will tell him he must play in Austin.

In all honestly, the chances are probably slim, very slim. However, Im not giving up hope for him to be a part of UTs 2020 class because everyone else is speculating he is UGA or Oregon bound. He probably is trolling at the Army practices, but hey it's something to hold hope for.

5* CB Kelee Ringo - Georgia
Consensus five-star cornerback Kelee Ringo signed during the early signing period.
The question, though, is with whom?
Despite a late push from Oregon, it sounds like Ringo is headed to Georgia, the program believed to be his leader for some time.
Ringo will announce at the Adidas All-American Bowl on January 4.

If Texas can close with Collins, Umanmeilan (sp), and Dixon than this was a really, really good class. Would love one more CB. Ringo would've just been icing to make this a great class. Hopefully one day soon Texas can be the team consistently pulling 5-7 elite players a year. I think they're getting there with Card, Jackson, Robinson and Brought on this year. Hopefully they can pull both Brockermeyers, Byrd, and Weaton to go with Mile of and Sanders next year.

word from someone who seems wired in really well is that he's just being a jerk, that there's nothing to see there. He's signed with Georgia, and speculated for a big wad of cash (again, I can't prove this, but there's a lot of smoke with that program)

To add to the Evans stuff, Georgia 24/7 believes he did sign with them on December 18th, but heard he started reaching out to other schools less than 24 hours later.

Anything is possible based on Evans' erratic behavior, but I think you have to consider Georgia finally gave up on the drama and told him he's free to go elsewhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has qualification issues as well.

Hudson Card had a really nice touchdown pass to put his team up by 10 I believe. Actually threw an equally impressive TD pass before then but it was called back for a penalty. Broughton supposedly looked nice and had a tackle or two in limited play.

Floss, have you seen anything on potential position coaches? Here's those that I've seen being mentioned by the different sites. Anyone I've missed?

OC: Mike Yurcich
QB: Mike Yurcich
RB: Stan Drayton
WR: Emmett Jones (Kansas, WR), Andre Coleman (interim WR)
TE: None (IT (I think it was) reported that Warehime would interview, but most likely wouldn't be retained)
OL: Herb Hand

DC: Chris Ash
DL: Oscar Giles, Elijah Robinson (TAMU DL. Might be going to the NFL with Rhule), Frank Okam (Baylor DL)
LB: Robb Smith (former Minnesota DC/LB. Worked with Ash at Arkansas)
CB: Jason Washington (247 mentioned he would interview this week)
S: Ash himself (if he goes with 1 LB, 2 DL and 2 DB coaches)

I’d prefer Okam over Robinson just cause I’d rather not be pulling coaches from A&M. Also Okam seemed to get his guys playing really well up front and it’s also great to have an alum on staff that was here when we were elite.

LJ:

“I grew up watching Texas a lot. Them moving to a four-man front helps. I was heavy on them early last year, but they started fading because of the fit,” Jackson said before the Future 50 Camp in Orlando. “I prefer the four-man front so I can stay on the edge and rush the passer.”

Jackson is a 6-6, 240-pound five-star prospect with 24 offers. He suffered a season ending knee injury as a sophomore. It was a tough, frustrating journey back to the field, but it ended with a Class 4A Division II state championship. It was his second in three years as a varsity player.

“It was great to bounce back from the knee injury. I missed football and I wanted to go win a title,” he said. “I felt 100% about four months after the surgery, but the doctors wanted me to wait until eight months out to go full-go and it worked out great.”

Jackson said he has trimmed his list to about 10 schools and hopes to commit by early in his senior season. The talented pass rusher listed Texas, Texas A&M, LSU and Alabama as schools that have separated from the pack. A&M holds a family advantage with his dad having played college basketball for the Aggies. Relationships and scheme should determine his eventual destination.

“I’m talking to LSU and Texas A&M the most right now. They’re contacting me three times a week and really showing me how I’d fit in their scheme,” Jackson said. “I want the place with the best plan for me, on and off the field.”

TA:

Another junior defensive lineman back on the radar is Tunmise Adeleye. The five-star from Katy Tompkins also didn’t like Texas’ odd-man front and was leaning toward programs with a four-man front. The hiring of Ash and move to a four-man front has Adeleye interested; his teammate and quarterback, Jalen Milroe, is a UT commit for 2021.

“I’ll be back at Texas in January,” Adeleye declared. “I want to see what the new defensive vision is about.”

Adeleye is a 6-3, 260-pound defender with the potential to grow into a three-technique defensive tackle. He and Jackson will be the top-ranked defensive linemen in the state for the 2021 class and the Longhorns hope to land one, if not both, five-star talents.

I wish Houston would have drafted him, cause we get all of their games in SA. I hated that he went to play for Fisher, the anti-QB HC. IMO, Fisher accelerated the negative choices Vince was making. Vince needed someone to support him, almost coddle him, but Fisher did neither. Fisher actually tore him down. Had Vince gone to a more QB friendly team, I believe he has a solid 10-14 year career as a starter and primary backup.

I don’t follow NFL. How do we feel about this hire?

I really dislike the hire. Packers fans have been trashing Mike McCarthy for years & they were happy AF when he got fired last season. So it's no surprise to see Packer fans & folks who watch a lot of Packers games are clowning the Cowboys for this hire. I never understood why Packers fans hated & complained so much about Mike McCarthy until I watched this really good X&O's video SBNation.com's Brett Kollerman did last season on why the Packers offense was garbage under McCarthy. It's not pretty & doesn't speak well about McCarthy as a playcaller & gameplanner:

Smart decision by Rhule and shrewd hire by the Panthers. Not only a great financial decision for him but the team has some blocks to build with not to mention the 7th pick in the draft. Should be a great opportunity and I wish him luck.

Sounds like he will be making north of $7 million which means that he is making $3 million more than previously. So "tomorrow" he'll be making about 175% his original salary compared than what he was making "yesterday."

If true, 7 yr 60 million, that is well over 8 mill a year....and if he reaches his incentives it goes up to 10 mill a year, cause he has 10 mill worth of incentives in the deal.

This is what his Wiki page says about Frank Wilson.

In 2011, Rivals.com named Wilson the National Recruiter of the Year.[6] In 2014, NFL.com named Wilson the top recruiter in all of college football.[7][8] In 2015, Scout.com honored Wilson as the SEC Recruiter of the Year.[9] In 2015, LSU secured a Top 5 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. The achievement marked the first time since 2002–03 that LSU finished with back-to-back Top 5 recruiting classes in America. From 2011–2014, 29 LSU Tigers have been selected in the NFL Draft which ranks second to Alabama (30).[10]

This is what his Wiki page says about Frank Wilson.

Which is exactly why I think he's the best option. Everybody praised Drayton for his ability as a coach (his work with Zeke and Jordan Howard was highlighted) and his work with Roschon this year is remarkable. But it is also a position where you have the time to really be a difference maker as a recruiter. His resume as a recruiter is pretty much second to none in college football.

He did have a pretty good run with Stevan Ridley, Jeremy Hill, Alfred Blue, Spencer Ware and Leonard Fournette while at LSU.

Hey Chris Del Conte, how about that “ We aren’t going to lose out on anyone over money” talk?
$225,000 to dominate DFW recruiting is peanuts in the grand scheme.

The irony - dirty schools spend $225,000 on individual recruits. Texas refuses to spend $225,000 on 1 coach who can bring in multiple recruits of that elite talent level.

From a profitability perspective it’s better to spend that $$$ on talented clean coaches rather than spend the $$$ on individual recruits (like dirty schools). That’s if the the talented coach can bring in the elite talent with fair play

yes, Flex TE is not a real thing; it's just a title for being a bigger slower slot receiver on LOS. A real TE is tight on the line and dual receiver/blocker. Finley was not tight and not a blocker.

I though the same thing, but I did some searching on him.

1. he is a DFW guy from Euless.
2. He has been in Kansas City Chiefs organization and Georgia Bull dogs
3. He is young and probably understands the kids mind better than an old guy does.
4. Pass defense is where Ash made his living and this guy has been around ash for 10 years

I'm willing to give the guy a chance before I poop on the hire.

Side note, I found this in the Rivals article posted above, now I really like this guy.

Back at the college level, Valai is back recruiting, including in his home state of Texas. As mentioned, the Euless native helped trained high school and professional athletes after he days at Wisconsin and helped found the company Grindhouse Sports Training near Dallas.

I like the Valai hire.

I'm willing to give the guy a chance before I poop on the hire.

good points. Lot of people will get hung up on the name Rutgers and be turned off immediately. Gotta look deeper, under the hood.

Per OrangeBloods, Coach Washington will not be retained, and they agree that Jay Valai from Rutgers is the likely replacement.

I'm less concerned about Riley than Joe Brady, I'm more than happy to see him go back to the NFL. I think with what we have coming back we can beat blowu, but beating LSU next year, is going to be a feat.

I’m not saying we beat LSU next year; there is certainly a lot tbd about the Horns next year. But I don’t think LSU is going to be as dominant without Burrow. He was lights out this year.

I haven't seen anything in the last few games that leads me to believe that there is going to be a huge drop off from Burrow. I watched their backup step in during the aggy and blowu games and cut both teams to pieces. That tells me it's a combination of the system and their athletes. LSU is always going to have the athletes, but hopefully the system can go away.

24/7 mentioned former NC Sate DC Dave Huxtable as a guy under consideration for the LB job. He coached with Ash at Wisconsin in 2011.

They are also under the impression that Tosh Lupoi interviewed for the DL job rather than the LB job.

They casually name dropped both Frank Wilson and Northwestern RB coach Louis Ayeni when talking about Stan Drayton and his potential move to the NFL. They didn't elaborate, just said that Texas could do a lot worse than those two.

IT talked about this. They believe that Drayton going somewhere else is actually a positive note. It is an opportunity to bring in an elite recruiter. Also they mentioned that we don’t have to worry about Bijan... he is wired differently and he isn’t going anywhere.

In this business, TRUST IT.

I would say our offense with Andrew Beck was a glimpse.
We were still not good at running the ball outside of Ehlinger.
But people said we were back. Whatever back means.
Im defining back as winning the conference because of depth on the roster.
