The DB coach that was at Houston Lamar (Reagens?) when they had Jamison and Cook is now at North Shore. Always brought the Lamar kids to Texas for visits.

Per 24/7, Texas is in a much better position with 2021 DT Marcus Burris of Texarkana Pleasant Grove after his visit last weekend and him being able to sit down with Coach Ash.

He says Texas will get an official visit, and his recruiting is very likely to be an in-state battle with A&M since he doesn't want to be far from home.

I am really starting to love this 2021 class. It seems we have a lot of guys who are taking a positive leadership role with recruiting. If Tom and his staff can show they can develop these guys, I think we have the making of a championship class.

Something I will point out. Texas had a great 2002 class, but they didn't really take the steps to becoming a great team until Mack made some coaching changes after the 2003 season when we brought in McWhorter to coach the oline, and Tomey and Robinson to run the defense. Of course it also helped letting Vince be Vince.

Hoping we have a repeat of history with our new coaching staff.

In my opinion, Roschon isn't moving back.

He will see how good Card is in the spring and I think he's starting to realize his NFL potential is at RB.

And he has got to understand this.
Even if he has a good season as a starter eventually there will be competition.

QBs can get injured in our system. Ehlinger, the full back playing QB, has been extraordinarily resilient imo.
Need to understand a team needs more than worthy backups.

Yurcich never had a mold he always went for. It was more of what type of QB helps fit the talent in their class and if we have depth, they can afford to get a mound of clay they can mold over a few years in the program. Those development guys end up being like Taylor Cornelius as a quality backup and/or spot starter later in their career. Doesn’t hurt to have a guy like that, that’s willing to hold that role while getting an education from UT.

Tell that to the countless numbers of junior high and high school coaches that put in countless hours both teaching classes, coaching , and many times dealing with unreasonable and irrational parents and their sometimes spoiled kids for a fraction of that pay. Very few coaches get into that gravy train of recycled jobs that you allude to.

I have several friends that I played with and against that are coaching high school and college. I have a good friend of mine who is one of those parents. However unreasonable as he was, he was also right, he moved his son to a high school that would let him play QB and he took that school deep into the playoffs. He is one of the top 10 players in San Antonio this past year. Probably won't play QB on the next level.

Granted, there are jerks everywhere, in all professions. Countless hours put in as you know but it is a select few coaches in comparison that ride the recycle gravy train.

Not sure if this question has been asked before, but when the coaches stop by the school's, what all happens? Basically pull them out of class to up talk their school?

It probably mostly revolves around their athletic period and observing workouts and talking to coaches. I believe rules prohibit kids being pulled out of classes.

The fact that he had a meager upbringing and was a mediocre student, but somehow rose to the leader of one of the top nations in the world, and one that would have conquered all of Europe, if not for us. He took over a country on the brink of total Anarchy, within 10 years they became the most powerful country in Europe. If he stopped right there he would have gone down in History as one of the greatest leaders in the history of the world, but he had to let his crazy out and start another war. Then he did the most foolish thing imaginable, he opened up a two front war. How stupid do you have to be to do that?

If you put aside the evil, he created the Autobahn, the VW Bug, some of the greatest weapons in the history of the world. We went to the Moon because of the V2 Rocket, we have Jet Airplanes because his scientist.

Now add in the crazy and evil and you have the greatest mass murder in the history of the world. It speaks to an eternal truth. Humanity has the capacity to do amazing wonderful things, and he also has the capacity to commit some of the greatest atrocities imaginable.

The USSR lost 22 million people in WWII, by far the most of any country, it was also the USSR that won that war, not the US, not England, not Patton, it was the USSR.

With that said, Stalin's style of winning was throwing his men at a problem until the German's run out of bullets. Watch the movie Enemy at the Gate, it has a part that really showed how the Soviets fought that war. Every other soldier got a gun and every soldier got a clip of ammo, if the guy carrying a rifle died, the next guy was to pick up his gun. If any soldier were to come back from the battle before it was over then he would be shot by the troops behind them. It was beyond brutal.

IMO, Stalin was a worse tyrant than Hitler was, he murdered millions of his own people. Human life meant nothing to him.

Both leadership styles were successful in some ways and pitiful in others. Hiller completely went overboard with his Nazi party instead of listening to his actual generals and his real fighting men. Led to some huge military errors in leadership. Their leadership styles both involved being as brutal and savage as possible as quickly as possible. They both knew how to incite the masses till all sensibilities were forgotten.

Narrative is definitely changing in the NFL. In this years Superbowl, you are seeing the BIG 12 dominate in the game. Byron Pringle (coached by Dre Coleman, Kansas City), Damien Williams (playing greatly this whole Playoff season, Oklahoma) and of course Patrick Mahomes (Texas Tech). SEC does not a claim of playing "NFL type" football.

I could see him and Adeleye being our starting backers next year with Ossai being moved to rush end. It's good for continuity to keep him, all we would have done is get another guy just like him from the portal. Given the choice i'd rather keep the guy that is already in the system and we know can contribute.

Rakestraw apparently has a great relationship with Mizzou, and Umanmielen is a wild card since it appears he's fascinated with going out of state but deep down probably doesn't want to.

I was always curious why Rakestraw had pinned his Mizzou offer on Twitter. You see it a lot with schools that kids really favor.
