I watched OK state the other day and came away less than impressed. Their O will score some points, but Texas should be able to do the same on their D and more. The QB for OK state is still green and he will finally see a defense with a pulse (granted a faint one currently).

yeah, i haven't seen anything about OK state that seems to suggest they are going to be a contender in the big XII. but hubbard and wallace will be interesting to watch. i'd take the horns to cover the spread on this one.

My thought is that we have basically 3 new RBs coming into the program, you are going to see Whit still take a few snaps at RB, but mostly you will see him back in the slot splitting time with Smith. Should make for a pretty deadly slot duo. Robinson Ingram and maybe Jordan will take over RB duties with Young and Hulliby getting some touches as well.

I absolutely love guys like Jordan Whittington and Ty Jordan who are versatile enough to play both WR and RB.

I'm not sure on J Moore, he didn't hurt anyone that we know of, but he will be on an extremely tight leash. I'm curious to see what will happen with Derrian Brown. I'm sure he will redshirt but he will also get hit a few times in practice. Hopefully he will be safe, but I'm pulling for him to completely put his medical condition behind him and have a good career.

A lot of the folks that cover Texas on Twitter have all but dismissed Roschon making a return to the QB room. Many of them said he’s struggled to improve his mechanics and throwing motion even as an early enrollee. He’s been a natural at RB and very impressive thus far given his experience. I think he stays at RB.

If the Rice game had been in a crucial situation (like LSU), and Boyce had read a play like he did and dropped a sure TD, I wonder what would have been said. He made the read and then did not execute on a catchable ball. Expectations are interesting... It tells us about what coaches think of players. I wonder if anything was ever said about completing a play.

Expectations and ability; Herman has an interesting coachspeak that skirts some issues. And I know Herman is smart enough to realize it. One can always fall back on taking care of things internally. It’s got to be difficult when you speak to the press concerning young players. I guess if players start to get individual money for their brand, “we” can blast them relentlessly like a pro.

To be very honest, our defense did a damn good job tonight. Special teams didn't help them much, but when you force the nations leadiing rusher to run the ball 37 times to get his 100+ night, you have done something. Hated how their QB ran all over us, but if I had to chose, i'd take the QB over the RB any day.

Here is my biggest takeaway from this game. We played like crap, we made mistake after mistake and we still won the game. That is progress, because if we played that way from 2010 to last year, we lost that game. plain and simple.

I feel like Epps will be fine. Sure he lacks in speed and athleticism but he’s a possession receiver and been forced to start because of CJ’s injury. If CJ’s healthy Epps doesn’t sniff the field, it’s only his RS freshman year in which he’s had a couple of starts. CJ was and is still at times criticized for not being physical enough but he makes plays so you get some bad with the good that comes. Maybe Epps can make some strides, I like having the big targets let’s hope he can improve.

WSU with the epic choke job last night. 32 point lead late in the 3rd and lost to UCLA. BTW, WSU QB had well over 500 yds passing and 9 TDs in the loss. Had WSU continued the route for the win, UCLA may ave fired Kelly on the spot. However, IMHO, Kelly definitely saved his job for the rest of the season. He may have also lit a fire under his team finally, we shall see.

agree with a lot of your take. Proud of the D's effort, especially considering all factors (injuries, the opponent's talent, etc). We played well enough on that side of the ball to hold that opponent to under 20 points.

Epps plays extremely timid, IMO, and needs some kind of epiphany. He's very young, true, though, so let's not give up on him (agreed).

Honestly, that's the best news scenario regarding Sterns. I was fearing the worst. IMO, Jalen Green will hurt the most or will be felt more.
