Even though Booker was back, I still feel better about our win the other night because we aren't at full strength either. We straight up curb stomped them while the highly touted Raptors struggled despite being at full strength.

You guys do realize he only played 29 min because he left early with foot issue. In other words his pussy was hurting so he
acted like it was referred pain to the foot. For Kawhi he gets referred pain in all parts of his body from his pussy.

(His body) feels good, just don’t want to overdo it too early since I missed out on a year, it’s just injury prevention, so just not playing back-to-backs for right now,” Leonard said (https://torontosun.com/sports/basketball/nba/toronto-raptors/raptors-will-continue-to-play-it-safe-with-kawhis-workload) after participating in an optional practice on Thursday. “We’ll see what happens and what they have on the menu but I’m pretty sure I’ll be playing (in Los Angeles),” Leonard said.

This latest episode for the drama queen is THE REASON SA was not going to max this guy out. The "Group" is holding him out of games waiting for the move and the big payday. Coach Nurse by his comments is saying he has ZERO influence on his top player sitting out of games.
Nephew is such a sorry POS. My enjoyment of the NBA has been diminished the last couple of years with all this nonsense going on. Not only with the nephew, but a lot of the top level NBA players are basically jerks who have their insulated existence away from the fans that have supported them financially. Most of these star players in all likelihood have a wall built around their mansions - oh the irony.
Pop was carried by Coach Bud. No surprise that things went downhill after he left. Bud was the reason they even made the trade for Kawhi, otherwise Pop would have stood pat. Now look at what he's done with the Bucks.
And what has he done with the Bucks yet, exactly ?
We've seen what he's done with Atlanta where he's been fired from tho.

Dray is already trying to get media on his side for it like he does. Apparently if he won it he could get super max, but who the fuck would let Dray take up that much of their cap? :lol
I hope he gets the DPOY just to cause problems for Dubs. Does Green resent it if he doesn't get the superMax? Does he leave? Do they somehow give it to him and raise their payroll even further. Green getting it is good for the rest of the league.

I have felt this way about the superstar NBA players in the league for the last 7-8 years. In this era and beyond they are going to have Hollywood attitudes because the NBA is Hollywood. To me they are just like any other celebrity. I can appreciate their talent from afar but I can never like them. I still watch the league because I like basketball but not because I like the players.

Don’t believe Number 2 (and especially Uncle Dennis) want to be in Lebron’s shadow. Not good for the brand. Number 2 will end up with Clips, Philly, Boston or Toronto. Klay and Lebron will team up on Lakers with some of their young guns.

It's always a possibility that he could go to the Lakers. I wouldn't be surprised if he does but I think he will go to the Clippers. The reasoning for this is first you gotta factor that Uncle Dennis is a pawn of the Suttons. The Suttons are a billionaire jewish family that runs impact sports which is the agency Kawhi is with. Originally there was a strong push out of these guys for Kawhi to be a Laker. I remember Cris Carter who is a mouth piece of Kawhi in the media pushing for Kawhi to the Lakers. That changed immediately the moment Lebron signed with the Lakers. I remember hearing Cris saying something along the lines and I'm paraphrasing "Kawhi wants to be in LA but that doesn't mean the Lakers. He respects Lebron but he wants his own team." Also factor in the Suttons don't like Lebron. There was a tweet a few years ago in which Sutton's son who runs impact sports insulted Lebron.
It really comes down to what the Sutton's want since Uncle Dennis is a pawn for them. It's funny when you think of it that Kawhi is a pawn of a pawn in this game.

Joseph Sutton, the son, 2014, called LeBron James a f*****t on twitter! Interesting we will go after athletes with dubious twitter or instagram timelines, Hadar in Milwaukee as an example. But we don't look at the agents or influence peddlers. There are screen shots of the exact tweet. I have it. Fairly easy to find. But, it's amazing how a Chris Carter, Stephen A, or Jalen Rose won't ask the question directly to KL or to anyone why KL is allowing himself to be represented by an individual, the top executive at his agency, who used a homophobic slur toward LeBron James? I guess with Get Up! and FIRST TAKE based in NYC, ESPN doesn't want to ruffle the feathers of a family werth between 3.6 to 5+ billion dollars, centered around NYC real estate. Uncle Dennis is KL's body man, and a paid employee of the Suttons. He is the Sutton's buffer, so people will look at him and not the Suttons. KL will go where THEY want him to go in the offseason.

I doubt ESPN a 30 billion dollar industry is fearful of the Suttons but more so their interests coincide with the Suttons which is they want Kawhi in a large media market whether it's LA or NYC which is why they never wanted to get down to telling the actual truth. Clowns like Jalen,Cris, Stephen A are all just a bunch of paid shills. There was an interesting clip on youtube where Stephen A bitched about the Warriors Demarcus Cousins signing but the next day on ESPN said the complete opposite and told people to get over it. This should show you these guys are just a bunch of corporate whores.
As weird as it sounds what really tends to annoy me now is when Jalen screams the Spurs misdiagnosed Kawhi. Spurs have now way to defend themselves against this bs allegations simply due to HIPAA law. They can't say anything publicly about Kawhi's medical record to refute Jalen's claim because the law won't allow it. So Jalen is free to peddle this crap 24/7. I wish somebody would call out Jalen on this bs.

I see your point about Kawhi, but star athletes (in all sports) have had insulated, "sheltered, " spoiled and walled off lives at least since the 1980's. Once the salaries of the top tier guys began climbing in the 7 and 8 digits that was both a necessity and a choice.
Look how many athletes have been robbed, shot at or kidnapped home and abroad. Ican understand that it makes them less "relatable" but they are elite, premier athletes so really many stop being relatable (in a purely financial or athletic sense) in high school.

Exactly, and instead of letting the matter become even bigger and hurting/damaging the reputation of their medical and training staff entirely. They severed the relationship fully by not offering the super max extension knowing either that or Los Angeles was Kawhi's (representations) end game.
There is also the likelihood that Leonard pulls this stunt again when unsatisfied or happy about something in the organization (since he saw that his petulant behavior worked before).

If he earns the SuperMax again, Toronto might be tricked into offering it, only to have him resume his bullshit again trying to get to LA with all of the money, to boot. They absolutely must NOT offer the SuperMax with a no trade clause. Let him fucking walk if he won’t take the money without a no trade clause.

i don’t understand the logic of letting him walk over a no trade clause. He has already shown money isn’t the highest priority. If he signs with Toronto he probably wants to play atleast another partial year there. No one wants to go to Toronto. By retaining him as an asset, you could get something back for him like Ingram or Kuzma in a trade. Maybe draft picks.

Like your thinking very much! If you've never heard it, listen to Tom Haberstrough's BACK to BACK podcast on July 5th, 2018. Michael C Wright of ESPN who covers the Spurs was interviewed. Wright said that the Spurs gave KL and his group (Uncle Dennis, Suttons! ) complete control of the rehabilitation process on Aug 8th, 2017. KL was coming off rehab of his injured ankle thanks to ZaZa, a 4 to 6 week injury. All the diagnosis over quad bruise or tendon, starting the Spurs recommend rehab, stopping rehab and wanting a second opinion, getting control of the rehab from the Spurs took less than a month and all before Aug. 8th 2017. The Spurs couldn't give details of Kawhi's rehab because they did not know! The group (Suttons, Uncle Dennis) weren't giving the details according to Wright! And the media again neglected to mention the truth of when KL wanted and got his second opinion. It wasn't in December or January! It was in August of the off season and not after he was done playing his nine game audition.
In the CBA of the NBA the Spurs could have had an impartial doctor and team designated by the NBA away from the Spurs and Kawhi's medical team examine KL 'injury'. But, what would be gained by being vindicated? What would the Spurs achieve by proving their star is committing 'fraud' through a false injury? The Spurs would still be on the hook for close to $20 million dollars for two years to a players we couldn't trade. We certainly wouldn't have gotten a quality player like DeMar DeRozen.

https://sports.yahoo.com/raptors-kawhi-leonard-sits-vs-lakers-foot-soreness-015640952--nba.html
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Kawhi Leonard is sitting out with foot soreness when the Toronto Raptors face the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night.
Leonard injured his left foot late in the fourth quarter of Toronto's win at Phoenix on Friday night, and coach Nick Nurse says the Raptors are being careful with their superstar.
The decision deprived Lakers fans of their only chance this season to see Leonard, who could be an unrestricted free agent coveted by their team next summer. Leonard grew up in Southern California's Inland Empire area, one hour east of Los Angeles.
Leonard is sitting out for the third time in his first 10 games with the Raptors. He missed two games last month, skipping half of two back-to-back sets.
Would be really funny if kawhi only plays 9 games but they are front loaded.

how long is he gonna sit out B2Bs?
“The plan is for a little while here to not let him play [both halves of] the back-to-backs,” [Raptors coach Nick] Nurse said. “I don’t think we’ve decided how long that’s gonna be yet. We’re going game by game.”
“I just wanted to get healthy,” said Leonard, who scored 19 points to go with 6 rebounds and 5 assists Friday night to help improve Toronto’s record to 8-1 this season. “I feel healthy now, and they just don’t want to rush into things. I don’t either. It’s a long season, so we’re thinking about the long road.”.

KaWhitter is now KaWhitting on the Raptors. The Spurs are very lucky to have gotten DD when had we waited we might not have gotten a damn thing. I do wish we still had DG here for his defense. If DjM, DW and LW 4 had not been bit by the injury bug we might be hell on wheels in a good way.

They may be lucky to have DD but they're goiing to waste the next three years of his prime witb the PATFO's brutal roster construction and DD will be another disgruntled star player who doesn't want to be here and Spurs fans will blame the location and market size per the usual.

You could very well be right. One thing the Spurs can't keep doing is bringing in old guys whose career's are basically over and pay them star salaries and we then load up on one position and none of the four or five are real starters but, guys who can help get us into the first round but, get their asses handed to them if we make it to the 2nd round. I'd like to see both DW and LW 4 get real playing time when they come back to see if they are true keepers or not.

It would be very selfish of Pop and the FO to keep him around three years on fringe playoff team while chewing up three years of his prime. Pop needs to pick a lane already. Either keep DD and build a competitive roster around his star or trade him for lottery picks BEFORE the Spurs lose leverage. I don't really expect the Patfo to do the right thing though.

DD is a victim here. He never wanted to leave Toronto. He went from a championship caliber team to a fringe playoff contender, only if a few playoff contenders shit the bed. And now, he's stuck with a hapless FO that's content with mediocre and a player who's in the middle of his prime wanting to contend for a championship. No it doesn't since I have been a fan of the Spurs since '94. I was a kid when I first became a fan and lived through the heart breaks of the Spurs losing to the Jazz and Rockets from '94-'98. I remember experiencing the horrible '96-'97 season and thinking at the time the Spurs were a million miles away from ever winning a title. Spur lucked out and got Duncan and the rest was history. I never took it for granted when the Spurs won titles during the Duncan era because I knew how hard they were to get. I got to see the Spurs win 5 titles in my lifetime that's more than many other fan bases will ever experience. To put it in perspective my younger brother is a Knicks fan who would just kill to have 1 title. I'm set for life with the 5 titles the Spurs have won. Anything else afterwards would be gravy. If the Spurs never win another title again in my remaining lifetime I would be fine granted I hope that won't be the case.
You are just a dipshit troll that needs to rub salt in people's faces 24/7. You are a sadist at heart. Last year was awesome year for you with the Kawhi fiasco but you are running out of shit to rile people up about. You think you've had it rough? Trying living through the great depression. When I was a kid, I didn't have transportation to school, I had to walk 2 miles barefoot in the snow. There was no internet, cell phone or HD TV to follow my favorite sports teams. I had two choices, I could attend the live sporting event in person or I could purchase something called a newspaper for a nickel. In the 60's, I became a fan of the Dallas Chaperalls and to a lesser extent the Kentucky Co!onels of the ABA. In that time, I became a huge fan of Charles Beasley and Bob Verga. And like you, I was very upset in 72-73 when the Chaps missed the playoffs but the following year, the Chaps moved to San Antonio and the Virginia Squires sold us Gervin for a mere $228, 000. The ABA tried to block the trade like the NBA did with CP3 however, the Spurs won in court and the franchise was changed forever.
A couple of years later, the ABA/NBA merger happened and a lot of people including myself were disappointed because we felt the ABA was just about ready to take off. And Yeah, there were some playoff disapppointments and no championships but it was more FO thing than Gervin. When your second and third best players on the team are Larry Kenon and Billy Paultz, you know your up shits creek without a paddle. So don't tell me about disappointments in the 90's you sanctimonious mook. At least, you had players like Sean Elliott, Vinnie Del Negro and Terry Cummings surrounding David Robinson. Sure, Cleo. Can you get me Tuesday night's lotto numbers too, please?
And calling one of the best front offices in NBA history "inept" constantly doesn't make it so. Do they make mistakes and sign/draft the wrong player? Sure, but they've also acquired/drafted 4 hall of fame caliber players and built an organization that every other team (including Golden State) aspires to be.
"Brutal roster construction" with limited resources ("poorest" owners in the NBA), annually drafting in the 20's and in a small media market. The Grizzlies, Hawks, Kings, Magic and Thunder sure did capitalize on their talent pool to come away with 0 championships......

I think you can do that in golf (Tiger Woods) or tennis (Djokovic). But in Bball,, it is inexcusable.
Kawhi has a degenerative disease and the Spurs medical staff figured it out last year. His group didn't like the findings, which is why they looked for other doctors for a second opinion. Kawhi's group also decided to burn bridges with North America's most respected franchise and find the supermax deal elsewhere. Kawhi Leonard is leaving few clues about his upcoming free agency
LOS ANGELES -- When Kawhi Leonard was a kid growing up in Southern California, he was surrounded by Los Angeles Lakers fans. His adolescence matched the heyday of Kobe Bryant's tenure with the franchise, and his family -- like so many others in Riverside and other parts of the Inland Empire where he grew up -- was full of devoted followers of the purple and gold.
Leonard, though, wasn't one of them.
"I wasn't at all," Leonard said Saturday. "My family was, but I wasn't.
"I liked Allen Iverson, I was an A.I. fan, so I didn't like the Lakers."
It was a throwaway line at the end of a short, perfunctory postpractice interview -- one that, like virtually every such session Leonard is a part of, he dutifully worked to end as quickly as he could. But it also was a small window into the mindset Leonard has employed as he has lifted himself from being a high school star plying his trade 60 miles east of Los Angeles into the sport's best two-way wing player.

i don’t understand the logic of letting him walk over a no trade clause. He has already shown money isn’t the highest priority. If he signs with Toronto he probably wants to play atleast another partial year there. No one wants to go to Toronto. By retaining him as an asset, you could get something back for him like Ingram or Kuzma in a trade. Maybe draft picks.
A no trade allows him to refuse any trade that he doesn't want, which would be anything outside of LA. Imagine last year if we had already paid him, and didn't have the Toronto option on the table...
I'm not going to pay him the SuperMax for a partial year of causing problems. You're all in without a no trade, or you can take that reduced fucking contract which is all that the LA teams can offer, and lose more money that you already have. Toronto has decisions to make, and they're predicated on Kawhi staying or going, not sitting on the fence.

I do kind of think the whole "fan" of a "team" thing is overrated. The NBA doesn't sell teams, it sells star players. And its match ups no longer involve team rivalries. Now its all about stars. So the only relevance of the Lakers to Kawhi is probably that it is a professional team in his hometown. No different than the Clippers.

Possible.
With tendiopathy its generally a play through pain scenario. The spurs tried their best to keep leonard and this was their medical solution. Which is is fine if he really does have degenrative tendiopathy.
Most medical journals suggest excercise and gradual increase of excercise is the best way to "treat" tendiopathy. Its not treatble but its about pain tolerance.
The spurs believed they can get him to 100% by making leonard accept the pain tolerance associated with tendiopathy.
Leonard and camp believe resting will solve it.
Most journals ive read so far suggest its not a treatable injury though and leonard will have to learn how to play with pain or he will never be the same again

Health-wise he’s done and his camp knows it. His only goal for now is to sign a supermax with any team, play a bunch of games, and a call it a career before the season ends.

Health-wise he’s done and his camp knows it. His only goal for now is to sign a supermax with any team, play a bunch of games, and a call it a career before the season ends.
That sounds like the plan... if his career is going to be shortened by the injury anyways and he’s going to be unpredictable in terms of whether he can play or not through some pain.

Like I've always said during the kawhi shitshow last year. Kawhi embodies the millinial/generation z mindset. Only work when you want to, call in sick, no call no show, can't take constructive criticism, if you talk shit runs away to his safe place in his tios house, etc. He's worse than the lost hikkokimori kids of Japan. I don't know how japanese parents put up with this shit! I would fucking drag their ass outta bed and send em to work construction or something with their uncle or dad.

This is ridiculous. I've never seen a "star" not support his teammates when he's "hurt." It pissed me off last year, more than any of his other antics. Unless an injury dictates he can't sit, then why can't he sit for a couple hours, clap a few times, and pretend he cares about his team?

Raptors are basically coddling Kawhi and his camp(uncle) at this point. What is extremely weird to me is how Kawhi doesn't even sit on the bench with the team when he's not playing. I have never seen something like this before. He shows up to practice with the team but then is no where to be found during the actual game. The raptors are not even talking about it as they don't want to get on his bad side I guess. They just hope he shows up in the playoffs at this point.

No offense but I hate the Raptor fan base. They are arguably the second most annoying fan base after Laker fans. Granted I'm judging them by what I have seen on Realgm. I get the saltiness in this thread, it's fine but don't lie. He's not doing anything his team ignores...
His coach already said they will be on this "injury prevention" on b2b's until the All-Star break, that the goal is having him healthy in playoffs. After the game vs SAC, Lowry said he knows that Kawhi is still trying to get his legs under him.

I wouldn't....What other thing the franchise could do? Raptors' FO HAD to trade one of Lowry/DeRozan. Both players together were a playoffs big fiasco. You can't expect a different result doing the same thing over and over again...
Also, the trade has been successful even if Kawhi doesn't sign with them. Lowry needed this change, he seems a way better player without DeRozan on court, and having Kawhi working with OG and Siakam is helping to their development.

Kawhi missed ton of open 3's in that series...His 2P% was great, it was his 3P% what killed his effeciency.
If Dree "forced" Kawhi to shoot .48% overrall...I wouldn't he was dismantled. After all, Russ won an MVP shooting .40%
Also, the Spurs would have won that series if in game 5 with Kawhi in his best superstar form, they would have called a play for him instead of going with 2 consecutive Parker-LMA pick&rolls to close the game.. in a night both guys couldn't hit an ocean.

Spurs were probably right with their medical diagnostic. Bad tendon. Suck it up and learn to play with the pain. Thats really the only solution to degenerative tendons. The more he plays and mentally accepts the better he will get.

Kawhi does not look the same physically. I've watched Raptors games and he's played efficient and well in some of them, but his defense isn't anywhere near the same, and he doesn't seem to get much elevation anymore. I really don't know if it's rust, but right now, he doesn't look the same athletically.
How did he go in today's game, anyway? I can't really take away much from one block.

In 3 of his 10 games he looked explosives but the rest not so much.
I think a lot of that has to do with the resting.
If the Spurs were right and Im starting to believe they are, he just needs to continue playing to develop pain tolerance with his broken tendon. Apperently thats what the meds wanted him to do. To be fair to the medical stuff, a degenerative tendon only real "cure" is improved pain tolerance.

Yeah, true. i actually forgot about the foot injury. For some reason I was thinking he missed those couple of games due to resting, but I actually forgot he had a foot injury. And yeah, you're right, he did look really good in a few of the games, but definitely not all of them. I'm still giving him at least half a season to see if he can get back to his old self. Kawhi really excites me when he plays lock down defense and when he plays fast on the defensive end of the court. I just haven't seen that from him this season so far at all. His domination on defense and being able to take a game over on that end of the court is why I liked him so much. Just being able to blow up plays and then finish with a thunderous dunk after taking the ball from the offensive player is what I like to see most from him.

If anything this article points out how much of a pimp coach Pop is. I mean yeah Tim Duncan was the cornerstone, but Pop turned that into being the most feared man in basketball and the most gospel. It's really impressive. I mean they could only find one random executive to talk bad about Pop and he had to be anonymous bc of how scared he is of Pop's hand coming down on him. I like it. Especially for a small market team like us.

Yeah but for a small market team to garner that respect/fear is pretty unheard of. Like nobody cares about what the Kings/ Magic/ OKC/ Bucks coaches say or do. Pop may be a dinosaur and dying out but man he's going out Tony Montana style. He's not going out like Phil Jackson or Jerry Sloan.
I agree that the odds of us signing a 3rd star is low and none of these premadonnas actually want to be coached and so the idea of playing for Pop can be seen as a negative. Everyone seems to respect him, but they know that their role and numbers may change if they play for him. Kind of parallel to Lebron James and playing with him.
We are going to have to homegrown a 3rd star and hopefully it's either Murray or Walker or this 3rd get we get in the draft this year.

Nobody still really believes he had a serious injury or that he had some degenerative condition that meant he would only play another 100 games or some nonsense, do they?

I felt all the way back in December of last year it was fake injury and that he would sit out the whole entire year. Also predicted he would come back next year playing at an MVP level. He stole 20 mil from the Spurs.

Has Kawhi always gone straight to the locker room without shaking hands or is this a toronto thing?

I'd love to have the Raptors problems, tbh. It beats getting demolished by the 2-11 suns, getting curbstomped by the Magic at home and losing to the kings?

Neph played 43 minutes tonight and Raptors play tomorrow. Doubtful he plays but if he does, that'd mean they're pretty damn confident about his health.

Exactly. Raptors drop 3 straight and they’re still tied for the best record in the league.
Leonard and the Raps will be just fine. Spurs fans can laugh all they want while the team gets demoralized all season long.

Pop doesn't allow lack of sportsmanship on his teams. He most definitely never pulled that shit as a Spur, tbh.

Looks like Kawhi is taking the heel role. He doesn't care about likeability at this point. Always complaining about calls. He's kind of strayed away from the "good guy Spurs" mentality. Good for him, but glad he's not on our team.

The only thing that surprised me is how now he's more vocal with complaining to the refs. I wonder if Pop held him back from going at the refs when he played for the Spurs.

Ahh shut up with your retarded lecture. I will enjoy every time the Raptors get clowned this year even if the Spurs lose 30 in a row. As long as the Raptors don't win the title I will be good.

I don't consider losing by seven points in OT to the Celtics on the road getting clowned. Losing by 24 points to the toothless 2-11 Suns is getting clowned.

In fact, during his last full season with the Spurs, Leonard was being encouraged by everybody including coaches and players to talk to the refs, and he was starting to do that.
But time goes by and people forget.

:lol You are a bitter old man whose not even a Spurs fan but is obsessed with trolling Spur fans despite your shitty Cavs not ever having a rivalry with the Spurs. Hell I can understand why Laker fans troll here 24/7 due to the intense rivalry from the Duncan/Kobe era but your trolling is just strange from a motive perspective. To me you are just a deranged angry person.
I would love to see the Spurs win but I'm realistic to know with this crappy roster they are not going to win many games this year. I can't be an unrealistic stupid person and expect the Spurs to be great this year and that's why I said they could lose 50 in a row and it won't matter. I can live with it. I lived through the horrible '97 season. To get angry and depressed after every spurs loss is just stupid and retarded. It's obvious you are upset the losing is not getting to me.
