Bad move by Dennis but they're like 18-4 and Leonard is posting career highs in Rebounds, Assists and hes ptobably going to post career high in points too.
I'm sure hes ok. :lol
Obviously if he gets rid of dennis..he will be much better.

dunno about america market for NB, but in europe and down here its very popular if u cant afford nike/adidas, depends on what shoes u buying for what purpose...trainers are popular since it fits in every household budget... unlike chinese brands or puma
Kawhi could’ve been a silent swag spokesman for Jordan brand. Could’ve done a whole “my game does the talking” campaign. The anti-superstar.
But then he went and opened his mouth and ended up with NB.

Where are you seeing that, all I've seen is that it would be more than the Jordan deal.
Instead of N, those shoes should have the letter K on them because he only thinks about himself...K for Kawhitter of course! He owes Spurs fans an apology...we will probably never see it.

11-29-2018, 01:44 AM
In 2017, US athletic footwear market by brand was: Nike (35.6%), Jordan/Nike (15.7%), Adidas (11.4%), Skechers (4.7%), New Balance (3.5%), Converse/Nike (3.5%) and Under Armour (2.5%).
By total revenue, Nike had $34.4 Billion, then Adidas at $24 billion, Puma and Under Armour at $5 billion each and then New Balance at $4.5 billion.
So, surprisingly, New Balance as company is close to Under Armour.

LOL Kawhitter walking around in socks because his handlers mismanaged an already shitty shoe deal. How classic.
This. Sadly, hilariously this. I bet I’m not even far from the truth with this happening due to something like-
Uncle: Kawhi wear dees when you go out for your presser
Kawhi: mute
Other leech from Kawhi’s group: no it’s not official. Is it?
Uncle: Didn’t that guy DM you on insta?
Leech: He said he’d fax it over. Did you plug it in?
Kawhi: mute
Uncle: Go out in socks for now. We wanna look like professional.
Kawhi: (begins weird laugh)
Uncle: no not now Kawhi
Kawhi: mute
It’s mismanaging their way to walking to arena for all star game all over again.

There is no logic in Dennis. I don't think he understands basketball culture at all. I'm the biggest kawhi stan out there, but a lotnof what Dennis is doing this year has been comical.
Resting back to backs - The dude is playing 36 when its not back to back. There's practiclly no reason why he should resting this early other than the dumb idea "less games, less chance of injury. He is practiclly ruining any chance of Kawhi making a name for himself just to secure his commision in the max deal.
New Balance Signing - Even if the reports of 5 mill a year is innacurate, this isnt the brand that will help leonard with his own brand.
The raptors have a legit chance of making the NBA finals even with kawhi at 80%, there is no reason to sign these deals now other than business incompetence.
Kawhi needs to realize his uncle is in it for himself or else hes going to destory the rest of his career.
Barring a return to 2016-2017 physical form, then I would say it is too late. He'll still be great, very good or good for a while (maybe 5 or 6 years) but I think the Spurs' diagnosis was accurate.
I also think Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Boston (if they can turn their offense around) are better occupied for a run to the Finals. A one star team with a bunch of overachieving role players ain't winning a title in the NBA in 2018 - '19.

New balance is trying to break in to the basketball shoe market, although very surprising. Good buisness move by them, depending on the payout to Kawhi. If he wants to be a brand, Kawhi has to stand out. This agreement has people talking. Mission accomplished!! Especially if Toronto can get to the finals, which is not a reach based on the teams play so far.

I'm trying to figure out the Uncle Dennis angle here. If Nephew is healthy, why not play out the season to prove Nephew's health, sign with the Lakers (or I guess the Clippers, even) and then bank what would have to be a huge shoe deal? Signing a shoe deal at this point when his long-term status is still iffy and he's playing in NBA Siberia is a strange business decision.
Maybe they understand that his long term status isn't 'iffy'. He had a ton of rest by sitting out most of last season, and we're like 1/4 of the way into this season, and his lift is still dog shit, mostly affecting his 3 ball, but also his defense. He's had plenty of time to shake the rust off, if that were actually what it was.

11-29-2018, 05:19 PM
I agree he looks slower and not even close to being the defensive stopper he once was. His saving grace is he is on a very good team from starters to bench. With that said I think it’s 50/50 they win the title this year they are that good not hating on his team just KY/Uncle Dennnis.
RC_Drunkford
11-29-2018, 05:23 PM
the only reason he signed with New Balance is cause this is probably the only shoe company that offered him his own sneaker. Remember he didn't resign with Jordan brand cause Uncle Dennis wanted him to have his own shoe. Aside from that, I don't see a lot of shoe companies paying a player a whole lot of money when he sits out every 2 games. To them that's less marketing

Lol, only because there are just 2 good teams on that stupid conference and probably will be Boston.
Just like last season it went to Cleveland it was just Lebron and bums but Boston had flatulence.
This season GS will be on the finals again, it doesnt matter how much they struggle refs will be there to give them extra shots.
Yeah that's why I think they have a good shot to make the finals. Warriors when healthy are practically unbeatable.

KL didn't take over.
Under the basket, why didn't he take it up strong, to score and/or get fouled?
Did the Warriors re-sign Matt Barnes or something? Didn't catch the game.

This is 2018 it's ok to admit that you have man love for Kawhi. You don't have to be under cover about it like Dwight Howard was. Anyways it has to hurt knowing that Kawhi will not beat a healthy Warriors team this year when it matters.

I wouldnt read too much into the Raptors needing OT to beat the Warriors, KD had an amazing game, when he plays like that his team stands a chance against anybody regardless of not having Curry/Green. Only real concern for the Raptors would be all the wide open 3's off offensive rebounds/transition they were giving up to Thompson, you cant give those to Curry.

The Warriors are one of the greatest teams ever assembled, and they don't play with peak effort during every part of the season. When the Spurs were at their peak, they got bored at times too and you end up playing to the level of your opponent. You could tell that the Warriors really wanted to win last night and the intensity of the game was probably the highest of the season for both teams, which probably can't be said of the earlier game they dropped to the Spurs.
It was sort of a no-win situation for both teams, except for one outcome...
Toronto loses = GSW are the greatest team ever assembled
Toronto wins = they only won because GSW were short handed
GSW loses = they only lost because they were short handed
GSW wins = even without two of their best players, they are still the best in league - look how good Durant is!
That last outcome is what KD was obviously shooting for, but failed to reach. He even lost the jersey off his back in a bet with Drake.
The game two weeks from now will be the better test, at home in Oakland with Curry and Green back in the line up. The Raptors will have a much bigger challenge on their hands, but it will be another game where both teams are up for the best opponent and not playing down to an opponent they think they can beat by cruising.

Why is every game treated as some sort of referendum? We know better than anyone how valuable scumbag and Green are and that the Spurs, even considering the circumstances, made one of the most embarrassing trades of all time.
This game was obviously meaningless, but I actually think the Raptors have a miniscule chance against them, if the expected Finals comes to fruition. Granted, their core is still in it's collective prime, but the Warriors remind me of the '98 Bulls, '03 Lakers, '08 Spurs, '11 Lakers, '14 Heat and '15 Spurs. All the signs of fatigue and erosion are present.
The overwhelming star power and absence of another veteran championship team to challenge them are probably still enough to get them over the hump though.
phxspurfan
11-30-2018, 06:20 PM
absence of another veteran championship team to challenge them
exactly. There's no '98 Jazz, '03 Spurs/'04 Pistons, '11 Celtics, '14 Spurs or '15 Clippers/Warriors/Cavs to stop them. Just a bunch of shitty middle of the road (historically) teams like the Thunder, Blazers, Rockettes, Celtics and Raptors. All of which will falter.
And yes, I am also like Charles Barkley in thinking the Clips aren't for real yet. They may miss the playoffs once the dust settles later in the season:
GSW
OKC
Nugz
Portland
Memphis
Lakers
Minny
New Orleans
Rockettes
Jazz
are all better than the Lou-Wills.

He won't win the MVP award with all the "rest" games and Giannis playing at another level (the clear league MVP).
He could make it to the Finals, but they don't have enough horsepower to beat a fully manned Warriors team. Especially, when three of their most important players (Ibaka, Lowry & Green) are known to shit the bed in high pressure situations.

Kawhiso continues to take over and now fans blame teammates. He's very ball dominant. Had 3 unforced TO bc he doesn't pass the ball. They weren't TO of the bad pass kind. They were TO of the I lost my handle bc I am getting this double team and I don't want to pass kind or I am going to flop kind. He goes to the Clippers he probably ends their egalitarian offense and passing.
He was perfect for the Spurs bc Pop likes post up and I so a lot... Oh well.

5-1
They faced just one top playoffs team in those games -Bucks- and lost.
I guess it's easy to have a winning record vs Hawks Bulls Wizards Jazz Lakers...Even the Spurs beat Lakers twice.
They beat the Grizzlies bc everyone including Lowry got incredibly on fire.

He got more than what many Hall of famers get on their lifetimes. He can't complain. Also, the Spurs team he was a part of was a 47 wins team without him. It's not like they were the Cavs minus Lebron.
Great point, he's not carrying the non playoffs Lakers either (without LeBron it's arguable they are probably worse than last year.)

Kawhi was a bigger threat when he was with us bc he had a 3 ball. This year he doesn't. It's early and he could get his shot back, but as of now it is a liability. BTW Giannis is the clear MVP and it isn't even close. He has Kawhi beat in every statistical category and his team is playing well. Raptors have a better record but have won 6 games without so when you factor that in, the better record argument doesn't work. It'll be interesting to see Kawhi vs Giannis bc Giannis is bigger, faster, longer, and stronger while Kawhi has Jordan like moves. Yet I don't know how well Kawhi will play against him since he no longer has a 3 point shot.

I'll talk about a game that you could have watched.
Kawhi got double-teamed vs Grizz most game, Memphis was very aggressive with that and Kawhi passed the ball so well. His playmaking led to 5 open 3's in the 2nd half and it was the key to the win.
It's not like he doesn't want to pass the ball, he already did.
However, fans blame his teammates when they are abysmal vs top playoffs teams. That's the story of this season and most seasons for the Raptors. It's not new. Sadly, Lowry -neither the rest of the team- can't handle pressure vs elite.

We will see. But blaming the loss on his teammates is chicken shit. He missed a bunch of 3s had 2 TO in the 4th Q too and he relishes having the ball.in his hands and taking more shots the everyone. You are right in the Grizzlies game he passed when he was forced to. It allowed others to get a rhythm... But he's a player that relishes the big moment and I admire that but can't come in blaming everyone else when it's on him. Besides they aren't going to go without one loss the rest t the way that's unrealistic.

any details on kawhi’s NB deal?
Still haven’t found anything concrete.
Reading through comments his sister made he’ll have merchandise with his logo. So it sounds like he was able to keep that. And if I’m reading it right he’ll have his signature shoe which is still in the making.

Let's me see...
-he took more shots than everyone.
he's the leading scorer, that's what scorers do. they take more shots than others.
esp when he's shooting better than his teammates' abysmal %FG.
-he had 2 TO
Kawhi had 2 TO but scored 27 pts in .52% 100% FT
Kyle had 3 TO scored 5 pts in .14% ...That's why fans blame him.

Nephew has been damn good offensively the last three games. I previously said he was 80% of the way to his 2017 offensive level. I'll now say he's about 90% there. If he starts hitting threes, it'd soon be 100%.
Defensively, Nephew is no where near his DPOY days. I'd rate Siakam as a better defender so far this season ... and Danny Green, too. That said, I don't think it's possible for Nephew to be as good as he was 2017 offensively while simultaneously playing defense at a DPOY level.

Do you think the Raptors can win it all? I feel like they get too stagnant in crunch time and as incredible as nephew is I have a hard time believing you can win a title with Siakim/Lowry as your second best player.
But then again, if the Warriors didn’t exist the Raps would be heavy championship favorites.

If the Warriors are anywhere close to table, they probably sweep the Raptors. Might take five games.
Main problem is Lowry always struggles in the playoffs. For as much grief as DeRozan got, Lowry choked as much if not more. The other problem is that depth doesn't matter nearly as much in the playoffs. Their depth helps them win regular season games but depth doesn't win high level playoff series.
Given the Raptors reliance on Lowry and depth, I don't think they should be the favorites to come out of the East, tbh.

So because Kawhi didn't make every shot, and had turnovers it negates how bad his teammates were that game? And it negates how good he was? Did u watch the game? Or highlights?

Their lack of a #2 and 3-point shooting will prevent them from winning the title, but I still like them to win the East..they match up well against Philly and Boston..Milwaukee matches up well, but they just don't have any talent outside of their top 2 and occasionally Bledsoe..
Lowry is an elite #3, but he's not a natural #2 guy, he doesn't have the penetration to negate his lack of size..
Green is shooting 44% from 3, but the rest of their high-volume shooters are frighteningly bad..Kawhi 33%, Lowry 35%, Ibaka 29%, FVV 31%, OG 32%, Miles 28%..damn..

:lmao Typical Raptors with their woe is me, everyone is out to get us because we're the lone Canadian team, nonsense. They're the only franchise in sports that's apparently never lost a game because it was always the refs conspiring against them.
I agree the final call was bad (even though it was absolutely a foul, holding and pushing occurs on every ATO play, especially with the game on the line), but so too was Siakam blatantly traveling a few plays before that and the refs ignoring it because Nurse pretended to get mad about Valanciunas blatantly undercutting Beasley previously.

Kawhi won finals MVP at age 23 in part by playing in one of the most stacked teams of all-time. Not many players get that chance, so I think he's just fine in the "deserving" category. Specially after being such a monumental bitch to the franchise that gave him that opportunity.

That was arguably the deepest team ever. That team was a choke away from beating the defending champions on a B2B on the road without it's 4 or 5 best players. That team could go 12 men deep and had at least 9 guys who were above average rotation guys. That team was stacked as fuck.
