View Full Version : What are you playing right now?

Doubtful. Howlongtobeat.com has the playtime for the original at 33 hours for a completionist and I'm at 46 hours with the base game beat but without any of the DLC played. :lol
Besides, I want to come back to Miles Morales later since it's a separate game. Don't want to play a game so similar right after.
idk man, the main quest line was pretty short, there's no way it took me anywhere near 30 hours to beat Miles Morales, unless you mean doing like most of the side content aside from collectables then maybe, but i felt like the main story was pretty easy to breeze through.
You check anything in the Golden Week Sale? Today is the last day. Well technically I think the sale ends at 8AM CST tomorrow. I couldn't resist Dragon's Crown Pro for $5 and Odin Sphere Leifthrasir for $18. Kind of tempted by Sakura Wars for $30 but being the game is mostly visual novel with some mech combat I think I'm just going to import the Japanese version.
Nah, I have so many games in the backlog at this point I need to start playing them before I buy new ones :lol i have a bad habit of starting games, buying new ones one sale, playing those while neglecting the other game. its a vicious cycle :

Game is too skill dependent and then you throw in needing crazy luck with good weapons. Also dont appreciate you need to make your way through waves of enemies before getting to the boss. It looks like the last patch made it so there are a lot more health drops along the way though.
How far along are you btw? I haven't played this game in over a week. Doubt I'll ever touch it again. :lol
still trying to beat the boss in the 2nd biome tbh. I havent played it in a couple days though. the game would be infinitely less infuriating to play if you just spawned in the same biome instead. but i get it, thats the genre. just so fucking annoying having to traverse through the overgrown ruins again and again to get back to where i even was.
i was able to find a key to the random house and got in there a bit. kinda makes me think the main character is just hallucinating or imagining all of this

It’s one of my best ps4 experiences tbh. The combat in Spider-Man was super fun man, specially with the ratchet and clank inspired weapons system etc. But I think the story is the best part of this game.
And honestly while some side quest was tedious, the swinging in the game was just way too damn good that it’s hard not to enjoy it.
I’m disappointed that the next game would feature Tom Halland as the Spider-Man, honestly whoever was in the first game did an amazing job tbh.
spiderman combat felt like an optimized version of the arkham combat system
Playing GTA V again with some Menyoo mods.

Doubt it given that this is an early PS5 game. We have just begun to scratch the surface of what the PS5 can do feature wise. Cant wait to see what Santa Monica comes up with God of War and the PS5.

Rift Apart was probably reason #2 for me getting PS5 early (Ghost of Tsushima was #1, Spiderman + Miles Morales #3), so with the game now effectively finished unless the reviews are dogshit I'll be getting this next month.

I want to see the raytraced Unreal engine and how that gets used this gen. Unreal 3 enabled so many amazing early gen 360/PS3 games: Bioshock / Rainbow Six Vegas / Gears of War... I think the Mass Effect games used Unreal 3 also. So would love to see a repeat of that.
You already saw what Unreal 5 without RT could do on PS5 here

Wow this Mass Effect remaster feels like a brand new game. Control feels so much more superior to the way the old ones felt like which was clanky and tanky. Movements are smooth and shooting feels great.

Hey man baseline bum I'm kind of dissapointed with P5 Strikers. I thought I'd like it more but this style of play is kind of cool at the beginning but it gets stale at some point.

Is the writing not as good with Koei-Tecmo instead of Atlus doing it? Or is it just the combat? I have always liked these sorts of Dynasty Warriors sorts of games. Drakengard which put the events of Nier Replicant into motion was one of those Dynasty Warriors style of games too. Speaking of Nier Replicant, the game has an infuriating platinum trophy that requires way too much grinding, since I remember you asking about the game and that you like hunting platinums. Might be the worst plat I have seen on PS4. Great game, I can't put it down ever since getting it, but it does kind of suck how much grinding you'd have to do to get the plat. Which I have no interest in trying for. Like this method to get eagle eggs that are necessary for maxing out some weapons. It's a super rare random spawn at the spot shown in the video so you can literally spend an hour killing yourself to reset the item spawn and still never have it be the eagle egg.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VpfTX50bTo
Another annoying thing is trying to grow a lunar tear in your garden, which will take you a week in the best case if you don't mess with your system's time zones.

I dont know if it's the writing or not but it definitely feels like an after thought game. Story feels like a B-side for sure. I'm not too far into it to fully judge it.
Merely gameplay wise it's not grabbing me though.

But how much should I expect my wallet to hurt this year? So far my likely buys are Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, the Yuffie DLC for Final Fantasy VII Remake, Dying Light 2, and Horizon Forbidden West. No interest in playing RE8 yet since I'm waiting for PSVR 2 to come out before playing RE7 and hear RE8 is a continuation of the RE7 story.

Sounds like Starfield is at least 2022 also so not expecting much desire to buy a Series X this year. Still expect that to be an absolute killer system in 2-3 years though.
I'm guessing Nintendo will have some cool shit involving Zelda this year too. Keep hearing Wind Waker will come to Switch for the 35th anniversary of Zelda, and hope they bring a 60 fps Ocarina of Time too. No way they could get away with releasing the 20 fps version from N64, that shit is rough to play in 2021. Pretty sure they wanted BOTW2 to be a 2021 release for the 35th anniversary but sounds like that ain't happening because of COVID. Oh well, Nintendo still has my most anticipated game for 2021, Shin Megami Tensei V. Will be a Day -3 download for me tbh.
Also if you haven't played it, Bowser's Fury is pretty good on Switch. Super Mario 3D World is alright too, but certainly no Odyssey by any stretch.

Nier Replicant was a shoestring budget PS3/360 game, would take a complete rethinking of the game to make it reasonable to come out with a PS5 version. The biggest reason to play Nier Replicant is for the story and characters but since you never got past Ending A of NieR Automata I think, I wouldn't recommend the game to you. It's filled with fetch quests and the combat is too easy. It's a very flawed game but with a ridiculously good story. But a story you have to do the extra playthroughs for to really uncover. Yoko Taro said he was inspired to make the game based on 9-11 and the Iraq war but it really won't start making sense until you're doing later playthroughs. It's one of my favorite games ever made but there's a reason it's a cult classic and not something that gets 10/10 review scores. It has a niche audience. Now Reck and spurraider21 I'd absolutely recommend Replicant to since they enjoyed the story of Automata and played through the multiple endings. But gameplay isn't as good as Automata's so if Automata didn't really grab you I don't think Replicant would have any chance to. Story and characters are better in Replicant though, which is really saying something because Automata's story was outstanding.

Automata was damn good, just didn't have the time or appetite to play it 2-3 times.
It wasn't replaying it 2-3 times though. Playthrough B was similar to A except you were doing the story of Playthrough A as 9S, where your most powerful weapon was hacking the machines using a Geometry Wars style minigame. But it goes faster than Playthrough A and has some new story content not part of Playthrough A. It's not total repetition. Getting to Ending C gives completely new story and gameplay building off Ending B, there is absolutely nothing repeated from earlier content. Then ending D and E are just replaying the last mission of the game. I don't want to give spoilers but only going to Ending A told you very little of the story. There is a huge tone shift in playing for Ending B after getting Ending A, and the real meat of the game (and by far best part) is after Ending B all the way through to Ending C. Then I'll say getting to Ending E gives a really cool bossfight and Endings D and E might take an hour or hour and a half max in total to get after getting Ending C if I remember right.
In Nier Replicant you genuinely have to play Part 2 of the story 5 times for all endings, though the replays of Part 2 are pretty quick once you have no need to do any sidequests and because by the second playthrough of it your character will be strong enough to really cut through enemies quickly. Honestly before buying Replicant I'd replay Automata through to Ending E and then if you're really into the story get Replicant. I say that because Automata is much more polished and modern feeling game than Replicant, Replicant starts off very slow with a string of fetch quests before becoming incredible storywise, and the major plot twist of Automata won't hit nearly as hard if you already know it from playing Replicant. Also you'd be selling yourself super short if you don't do at least one replay to get to Ending B. Same with not pushing through to at least Ending C in Automata.

Persona 4 Golden has a really long tutorial intro, like maybe 3-4 hours, but the game picks up a lot after that. Also you can play Persona 5 easy on PC now through RPCS3, though I don't recommend the 60 fps patch because it speeds a lot of shit up. Though might be worth waiting for E3 to see if they finally bring Persona 5 Royal to Switch and/or PC, since it adds a lot and gets rid of one very annoying thing in the base Persona 5: namely, your cat making you go to bed early all the time, which makes the original game a real grind against the clock. Gotta think P5R is coming to one of those two platforms after Atlus saw how well P4G sold on Steam.

Forgot where I saw the list, somewhere on reddit r/PS5. Definitely picking up TLOU Part II and 13 Sentinels though. Fucking love the art style in 13 Sentinels and read nothing but great things about it. Don't know if prices will go live on PSN at midnight PST or 10AM PST though. Walmart has already started their Days of Play pricing on TLOU II though, went immediately from $59.99 to $29.88 on walmart.com as soon as it hit midnight local time. And Demon's Souls from $69 to $59. Walmart has Cyberpunk for $30 if you want to chance the PS5 port being any good.

finished RE8 on all difficulties, except the last one, which i dont wanna bother with as the game is not that good. I think its a little better than 7, but not by much. Ethan still sucked. It was good seeing Chris looking way better than in 7, but his mission didnt really do it for me. Reminded me of those RE action games. Boss fights were ok, classic RE stuff. Heisenberg, who sounds like Nick Cage, was my favorite character. I really hoped the game would be scarier, but the only scary part lasts for like 2 minutes. Anyway, it sucks that capcom aint using their old RE characters in these new games, as everyone would love to see Leon, Jill, Ada and Claire, while Etha and Mia are fucking shit.

The problem with this franchise is that it keeps using the same characters. As much as I like Jill and leon, fucking let it go.
It needs brand new characters in a different universe even. And when I say new characters I mean, characters that have a personality. Ethan is barely better than a cardboard. Boxes in Metal Gear have more personality than Ethan for god's sake.

Just finished Nier Replicant Sqrt 1.5, and it was worth every penny of full price. Not quite a top 5 game on the PS4 for me, but pretty damn close. I think I'd rate my top 10 games of the PS4 generation as
1. Bloodborne
2. NieR Automata
3. Persona 5 Royal
4. Dying Light
5. God of War
6. Ghost of Tsushima
7. Nier Replicant
8. Yakuza 0
9. Witcher 3
10. Horizon Zero Dawn
Replicant is certainly a flawed and at times very repetitive game, but A+ storytelling and character development. spurraider21, you were asking about my thoughts after I finish this game, and I'd say if you were a big fan of Automata I think you'd like Replicant. But I'm not 100% sure as this has a lot of fetch quests and repetition. Eg Endings B, C, D require replaying the story missions of the second half of the path leading to Ending A, though you can get ending C and then just don't save and reload your save file and get ending D the same way you could in Automata. The new material added for Ending E is freaking awesome and ties the game up really nicely and now the original 360/PS3 version without it feels very incomplete, plus the route to Ending E is new and awesome.
IDK, I think you'd like it but I wouldn't be shocked if you hated it too for feeling like a PS3 era game. And for the repetition, which even I found annoying but feels like a necessary evil to peel more layers of the onion that is the storyline.

Spiderman's really good but not a top 10 game for me, haven't played Metal Gear Solid 5, and never have been very interested in the Batman games. Uncharted 4 is like an 18 hour game and storyline is kind of corny. Graphics are amazing and gameplay is fun but if a game is going to be short it has to be great in every other facet (eg like The Last of Us, but I didn't count it because it's just a straight remaster of a PS3 game).

If you ask me, nothing touches GOW on the PS4 gen. That game had everything, great story, amazing looks, great camera work, extremely well done combat, polished mechanics, top notch audio, attention to detail. It was just an engrossing experience.
Maybe the biggest knock is that replayability isn't great, which is common with major productions like that. They're really interactive movies. Something you pick up maybe every couple of years to just re-live the experience.
There's a lot of that with Naughty Dog as well. TLOU just wasn't thematically my favorite, and I really disliked having to play that other character in TLOU II. I don't know about the last Uncharted (which I thought was very good, but not great), but I played the trilogy on PS4 as well, and it's just such a great series.
I thought AC Origins was sort of a reboot of that franchise, and Egypt was just the right place. That's probably on my top 10 as well.

Automata's not a short game. Did you stop playing it after Ending A?
I sorta hate these kind of discussions because it's all about tastes, tbh
Yep. True enough which is why I didn't want to get on a heated back and forth.
I also tend to have a first negative opinion of first person games. There are few games that I like that are in first person. When I think of first person done well I immediately think of Dishonored. I bring that game up all the time. Such a homer. :lol
You got a code around for Disco Elysium Final Cut? Shit looks real interesting. I'm about to splurge on the PS store right now. I'm bored and looking for something new to play even though I have almost 20 new games to play. :lol
So far looking through their extended state of play sales where they got a few good games in there real cheap. Thus far I have nabbed Return to Arkham and Project Cars 2 for a grand total of 20 bucks.
I'm seriously addicted to buying shit on the store now. baseline bum (https://www.spurstalk.com/forums/member.php?u=131) weren't you looking to play Dishonored? They have a bundle going for Dishonored 2 and Prey. Two solid Arkane games right there. Though Dishonored 1 is still far superior in my opinion.
So I’ve been playing this game for the past week. Almost at the end.
It’s a good game but it’s basically a motion book. No combat gameplay at all. It’s basically you go to person A, have a 30 minute conversation and then on to the next person. The voice acting though..

i definitely liked Nier Automata more than Uncharted 4. tbh i felt Tomb Raider and ROTR were superior to Uncharted. not quite sure where i'd put dying light. it was definitely a good game... probably not quite as good as uncharted and tomb raider, but still very good. spiderman definitely cracks my top 10 of PS4 era. arkham knight was also really good but weighed down by fckn batmobile :lol
without putting them in order (except GOW #1) and just off the top of my head from what i've played so far, my top 10 of the generation... i'm thinking God of War, Nier Automata, Spider-Man, RDR2, Bloodborne, Sekiro, Horizon, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Arkham Knight, Uncharted 4, Celeste probably make it. subject to revision if i think on it more.

1. Last of Us Part 2
2. Witcher 3
3. HZD
4. Nier Automata
5. Dying Light
6. GOW
7. Dark Souls 3
8. Uncharted 4
9. Rise of the Tomb Raider
10. Resident Evil 2 Remake
really is tough trying to put a list together as most of the games after the top 2 are really interchangeable. I really enjoyed GoW but I didn't think it was the masterpiece a lot of posters here think it was. agree with baseline bum on Dying Light though, that game was the tits
Mostly all I care about is story. Gameplay is secondary to me. If you dont have a good story then I lose interest on the game quick.
Devil May Cry 5 and Yakuza 0 for example have solid story but complicated controls, imo. Between the different fighting styles and different combinations of buttons it makes it a bit confusing so you have to keep playing the game without long breaks in between because re-learning the controls is a bitch.

Honestly... for me after RDR2 and TLoU2 there is a big gap. Then I'd have GoW, Horizon, Spiderman, Uncharted 4, Witcher 3, Dying Light and maybe a couple others all pretty interchangeable. There are some like Nier Automata and Ghosts of Tsushima that I just couldn't get into and finish. That isn't because of the game though, it's all me. Did you play God of War on one of the hard difficulties? I don't think I would have liked the game nearly as much on the default difficulty, as on Give Me Challenge it felt a lot like a Souls game in combat, including Sigrun (final valkyrie) being a really difficult bossfight. I just hope Dying Light 2 is decent on a controller, as I'm definitely getting that one for PS5. Played on PC with mouse and keyboard in the original, but no way I want to spend $850 to get a PS5 level gpu these days in addition to another $500 to upgrade my board / cpu / ram as well as dumping a $200 for a 1TB PCIE 4.0x4 SSD (and no way I'm buying an SSD less than 1TB in 2021). play give me god of war on NG+ and fight sigrun again
Got too much other stuff I want to play. Just started a playthrough of Chrono Trigger (haven't played it since 1995) and have The Last of Us Part II, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Dragon Quest XI S, Yakuza 5 & 6, Sekiro, and Miles Morales at the top of my backlog right now. Also still playing 逆転裁判 蘇る逆転 to work on my Japanese reading ability. And I'll probably get Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart to play immediately at some point this month or next. Probably be a few years before I do another God of War playthrough as much as I loved the game. Hell I haven't even done a second playthrough of Bloodborne yet.

i've done multiple runs of God of War at this point... first give me a challenge, then NG+ give me god of war, then plain give me god of war... that last one was brutal (even though valkyries were easier, the actual campaign was harder since you dont have your gear and runic attacks)
i havent made a second run of bloodborne either. i did multiple sekiro runs, though... chased the platinum on that one. the sekiro dlc was a nice touch (not a campaign type thing, just gauntlets/boss runs with some new movesets). i also did 2 runs of spiderman (since after you beat the game you unlock an "ultimate" difficulty which i wanted to take on). otherwise ive played every game just once so far.

I still thought was really funny in Sekiro in English that they call you wolf, but in Japanese they say ōkami where the ō is a really long o, like o----hh shit I'm going crash into that car. And ōkami can mean wolf (written 狼) or god (written 大神). So they play that pun up in the game since you're basically immortal. But you lose the double meaning in English.
The game Okami does the same, as you're the sun god Amaterasu ōkami in wolf form. Though in Japanese the game is called 大神 = ōkami like god and not 狼 = ōkami like wolf. Japanese loves its fucking puns. :lol
Also Okami is a pretty cool game if you like the watercolor art style, plays like a Wii era Zelda, and goes on sale cheap all the time. Though combat is really simplistic and easy so might turn you off.

JFC more than $1500 to upgrade my PC to PS5 level hardware, no fucking thanks.
the PS5 controllers are pretty awesome, an underrated feature of the new gen. I hope Techland utilizes the technology because it has potential for a great immersive experience on PS5

You think Cyberpunk is worth $20 on PS5? Gamestop is running it for that price today.
Is the game any good? Story? Gunplay? Or is it just some nice graphics slapped onto a soulless rushed world? Do you think it'll ever be a great game? Better yet, instead of being worth $20, is it worth the time committed to play it considering all the other great PS5 shit out there right now? Or does it feel cookie cutter?

It is, IMO. I played it all the way through. It's snappy on PS5. It's a fun game. This game received ultimate hype and then ultimate hate. Neither was warranted, but it's a good game (not sure the buggy status at this point, but other than restarting the game and loading your save occasionally, that was it for me).
Story is decent, there's a lot of side quests you can do in a number of ways, etc. $20 is a steal for it, IMO.

According to how long to beat, 10 hours is about right. 15 if you are into collection and all that shit.
https://howlongtobeat.com/game?id=79776
I also heard the story is mediocre at best. Sounds like a wait bin sale game to me. Outside of maybe god of War 5 I will always wait for deep sales. There is no way I can justify spending 70+ dollars on a base game that may or may not come broken as fuck ala Cyberpunk.

Finally got the hang of this situation over cardzmania. It's not really Canasta in the real sense. It's rasslin' that bot over the black 3's and thus control to the whole fucking thing. It's the damnest thing I've ever seen. It gets to the point where once we run out of the 3's to freeze the discard pile we start in on the wild cards. That was me who commenced that practice. The Bot just keeps throwing his good cards that were ready to be put into Canastas till we fought over the discard pile. I've thrown 5 deuces in a row at one point before he finally gave in. And the fucker always has black 3's in his hand if I go out first.

Have you played any of the rest of the series? The PS4 game is awesome too. I'm kind of 50/50 on buying it right now since it's only a 10-15 hour game. On one hand there isn't much else this year for PS5 but jeez feels bad to pay $70 for a short game. With so little out for PS5 I imagine it'll stay a $70 game until summer 2022 though. This is precisely why I like to check out guides for games I intend to plat. Knowing whether to start the game on normal or hard could be the difference in cutting playtime by an entire playthrough.
Optimizing numbers of playthroughs is a must if you’re not keen on wasting precious hours. There is a way to get the bare minimum of tokens without getting golds on every challenges if you just play the game without using tokens until after you beat the game.
This is basically the workaround..
don’t spend your challenge Tokens & Base Tokens yet! Keep them all until after the story! Then you can make a manual save > buy 15 upgrades > reload save to get tokens back > buy all suits.
This is important because you can only get a maximum of 6 tokens per challenge but that would require you to perform really well and get a gold rating. To get all trophies you only need 1-3 Tokens per challenge, if you don’t waste any (bronze or silver rating does suffice). That means you can get away with mediocre scores. If you were to overspend your Tokens on stuff you don’t need, then you’d have to go the extra mile and get perfect scores on each challenge for more tokens, which will ramp up the platinum difficulty significantly.

I'd personally rate the Rocksteady Batman games a notch above this one. It has less side stuff being that they are linear games (Moreso in Arkham Asylum) but you still get plenty of stuff to do. Batman games are harder overall too.

If you play Persona 5, spend the money on the Royal version instead of playing the free version available through PS Plus, as your fucking cat makes you go to sleep early all the time in the original version of the game (eg the one on PS Plus for free), which makes it a real grind against the clock. Though you gotta get the DLC too as it has the best bossfights of the game. Only runs 30 fps though, no PS4 Pro patch even much less PS5 patch. That shit is my game of the century.
If you play Persona 5, spend the money on the Royal version instead of playing the free version available through PS Plus, as your fucking cat makes you go to sleep early all the time in the original version of the game (eg the one on PS Plus for free), which makes it a real grind against the clock. Also gotta warn the game has about a 3 hour intro tutorial but gets awesome after that.
Both Persona 5 Royal and NieR Automata have ridiculously awesome original soundtracks too.
I’m rolling with Nier. Shit looks badass on PS5

Good choice. More bang for your buck, too.
Persona 5 is an excellent game but it's a one and done. Nier Automata has replayability for days.

Yeah it's nice at a locked 60 fps. One thing I gotta warn: the game is not over when you think you have finished it the first time (e.g. Ending A). It calls it new playthroughs but it's really continuations of the story. Ending E is when you have actually completed the story.
While the game is awesome up to Ending A, if you quit after Ending A you will have only played the worst part of the game.

also yakuza 0 has picked up a bit. i just started chapter 4, the second chapter with the eyepatch guy. its pretty straightforward. my only question is i'm actually expected to hold up against the Apex Predator guy at this point. otherwise, the move upgrades seem really expensive. hopefully you start rolling in money as the game goes on. or do i have to say fuck it and only commit points to a single combat style?

I mean you can kick the shit out of the Mr Shakedown guys in Chapter 1 provided you have leveled up your body, heat, and moves enough. It has been so long since I played Yakuza 0 though all I remember about styles was Kiryu's power style is garbage (so slow) and I never bothered with Majima's breakdance style either. I do think side missions are the keys to unlocking new moves, heat actions, leveling up your strength and attack power, etc. I always do the side missions in these games so do a lot of character customization from the beginning though.
Before my characters were really powerful I think the main way I beat the Mr Shakedowns was building up my heat through fighting and drinks and then switching to knives and using heat actions to stab them. Though the GOAT move in Yakuza is the Komaki Tiger Drop which is a counter you'll learn training with Komaki.

with Kiryu i have 3 fighting modes... the first i think was called brawler, then you unlock rush, and the last one is called beast. the beast one i found to be totally unusable. brawler and rush seemed decent. dont know if i'm just supposed to commit to one, or if this is the kind of game im expected to max out all the trees
so far with majima i just have the one basic brawler style one and the weapons one

I know this is blasphemy, but I really didn't like TLOU2. I thought it was way too long, and it really interfered with the story. It is a quality game and it looks phenomenal on the PS5, but overall I thought it was a let down compared to TLOU1.
I'd rank Fallen Order way higher, but I'm admittedly a fanboy. If you love star wars, you'll love Fallen Order especially with the PS5 patch.

Technically, it's an amazing game. I have no beefs with the looks, game mechanics, etc.
For a game that hinges on story so heavily though, there's some highly questionable story-driven decisions that I hate.
I did not want to play that other character. It would've been ok if it was 10 mins, flashback-style thing, here or there, but when it's half the game, it's not ok. Waited years to play some of these characters again, and one is killed from the get go, the other you only get to play for half the game.

No I'm right there with you. It's a heavy game with heavy themes, not something people play just to enjoy themselves. Understandably not everyone's cup of tea.

This is weird but do you guys who have a PS5 having any controller issues while playing? I mean physically.
The side of my middle finger is getting shredded because for some reason I’m resting it at the back of the controller, near the bump of the right trigger. The rough surface of the Dual Sense is grating the shit out of it. :lol
It might just be the current game I’m playing though. The swinging momentum of spider man makes you grip the controller super tight.

as far as i recall, the DLC suits were purely cosmetic. no abilities attached to them. my favorite suit for cosmetic purposes was the vintage comic book suit (the one directly to the right you have selected). the contrast in art style between spidey and the rest of the world was good eye candy
most useful abilities imo were the Web Blossom, Spider Bro, or just the basic Battle Focus

also, Yakuza 0 has gotten a lot better. i still find the combat to be pretty clunky (sometimes trying to lock onto an enemy is really frustrating, and my guy just faces the opposite direction and it takes a while to turn him around)... but it was pretty punishing on hard difficulty before figuring out that i can just abuse heal items.
i'm playing with Kiryu for his second stint now, and just unlocked the real estate business thing. i'm just pouring my money into that trying to scoop up and upgrade as many properties as possible. i want big passive income down the line, since learning new combat abilities is starting to get really expensive.
my biggest point of frustration is that there are no markers for side quests, so they're literally quite random and i dont really want to miss them, since apparently these side characters become employees for the business and can have good ratings. dont want to be looking at a guide, avoiding that so far

true, but not at the exclusion of a fairly fleshed out game mechanic
Man, I'm eating Spider Man alive. This game became too easy.
I'm on the last DLC. By far the worst of them. Both boring and annoying missions, and most of the combat is chasing drones/dudes on jetpacks.
Once I'm done 100 percenting everything I'll work on the last 2 trophies which are play an NG+ and ultimate difficulty. I hope I can get both in one run. Also will try the 1 hit kill to speed shit up.

tbh didnt feel any harder than my first playthrough... mostly because you're probably pretty good with the combat by this point, and since its NG+ you have all your shit from the beginning.
the only time one of these games actually felt hard on the hardest difficulty iirc was Arkham Asylum. in that game on hard difficulty you no longer got the alert to dodge enemies and actually had to time it right based on their animations. i dont think any of the sequels even made it that hard.
that was especially frustrating in arkham asylum because if you mistimed the counter button you lose your whole combo, and the only saving grace to that difficulty was stringing long combos so you could get critical damage.
edit: apparently arkham knight has a "knightmare" difficulty which also removes the attack indicators, but thats only available on NG+

I just played the main missions only so I was able to beat it quite fast. Ultimate is only on the easier side if you have mastered the combat. It's pretty much 2 hits and you're dead. The sable dudes really were the only ones who killed me a handful of times, namely the jet pack fucks. Got stuck for about 30 minutes on the next to last mission just about when you're heading into the building to fight Li for the last time. Bosses were all rather easy because they have the same moves without randomness added to them.
9/10 game.
