They are having a going out of business sale at the moment to draw interest. I heard there was a sale going on at "Big Lots" which really impacted attendance. :wow

Only 1,000 attended Friday versus their expected 10,000.

Ticket prices for the event started at $129 for those who booked months in advance. They then increased to $169 while VIP tickets were sold for $269. Late Friday, the event promoted "Saturday Only" tickets for $49 as well as "Saturday Only VIP" tickets for $149.

A two-for-one taco manager's special going on at Taco Bell this Saturday will not help attendance either.

Trump got caught trying to claim code for new social media platform was his! :wow

Trump's new social media platform could face legal issues after allegedly ripping off code.

Source code founder told political news site Talking Points Memo that he plans to lawyer up, and left the door open to suing Trump and his new media venture if they did not comply with his company's rules of service. "I do intend to seek legal counsel on the situation," he told the outlet. "Compliance with our AGPLv3 license is very important to me, as that is the sole basis upon which I and other developers are willing to give away years of work for free." :lmao

Trump team set up a 'command center' dedicated to overturning the election the week of the Jan 6th riot

allies and lawyers employed by Donald Trump set up what was called a "command center" in a Washington D.C. hotel the week of the Jan 6th Capitol riot

from which they coordinated efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election (https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/willard-trump-eastman-giuliani-bannon/2021/10/23/c45bd2d4-3281-11ec-9241-aad8e48f01ff_story.html).

the center headquartered at the Willard Hotel became home to Rudy Giuliani, Steve Bannon and John Eastman -- the attorney behind the now notorious "coup memo -- among others.

"...an emerging picture of a less visible effort, mapped out in memos (https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/09/20/peril-woodward-costa-graham-lee-fraud/?itid=lk_inline_manual_4) by a conservative pro-Trump legal scholar and pursued by a team of presidential advisers and lawyers seeking to pull off what they claim was a legal strategy to reinstate Trump for a second term,"

"Their activities included

finding and publicizing alleged evidence of fraud,

urging members of state legislatures to challenge Biden's victory and

calling on the Trump-supporting public to press Republican officials in key states."

work was intense at the command center, "... leading up to and even extending beyond 1 p.m. on Jan 6."

Trump allies were

calling members of Republican-dominated legislatures in swing states that Eastman had spotlighted in his memos, including Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona,

encouraging them to convene special sessions to investigate fraud and

to reassign electoral college votes from Biden to Trump,

Trump's Real-Estate Empire Pays Heavy Price For Poisonous Politics

undermined Trump's business, built around real-estate development and branding deals that have allowed him to make millions by licensing his name.

His presidency is now associated in the minds of many with its violent end, as supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

Revenues from some of his high-end properties have declined,

vacancies in office buildings have increased, and

his lenders are warning that the company's revenues may not be sufficient to cover his debt payments, according to Trump's financial disclosures as president,

Prospective tenants in New York are shunning his buildings, one real-estate broker said, to avoid being associated with Trump.

Organizers of golf tournaments have pulled events from his courses.

remains under the cloud of a joint criminal fraud investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney's office and the New York Attorney General.

Revenues at his Las Vegas hotel, for instance, fell from $22.9 million in 2017 to $9.2 million during 2020 and the first 20 days of 2021, according to Trump's financial disclosures.

records show Trump's Washington hotel lost more than $73 million since 2016.

The resort saw revenues fall from $92 million in 2015 to $75 million in 2017, she said at another hearing the following year. Trump's presidential financial disclosure listed Doral revenues at $44 million last year.

New York City in January canceled his leases on a golf course, two Central Park skating rinks, and a carousel; Trump has sued the city for wrongful termination of the golf course lease.

One commercial real-estate broker says many prospective tenants won't consider the building because Trump's name is on it.

The Doral resort and Washington hotel, along with a hotel in Chicago, are secured by about $340 million in loans from Deutsche Bank AG, Trump's biggest lender.

But the bank has no appetite for more business with Trump and has no plans to extend the loans after they come due in 2023 and 2024,

After Biden baits Trump into weighing Virginia visit,

Youngkin camp hits the panic button

If GOP nominee Glenn Youngkin is willing to pledge loyalty to Donald Trump in private, “Why not in public," Biden wondered. "Is there a problem with Trump being here? Is he embarrassed?"

But Trump—whose picture appears directly opposite the word “insecure” in the dictionary—but on Wednesday afternoon, teasing the idea of traveling to the state in a one-line statement.

"Thank you, Arlington, see you soon!" Trump wrote.

"Trump confidants, meanwhile, were initially coy about whether he was being serious, with staff noting his penchant for mischief-making and trolling by tweet."

several hair-on-fire hours later,

the Youngkin camp managed to clarify that Trump wasn't actually planning on showing up in the state. Or at least not immediately. Chicken.

the Youngkin campaign just spent 24 precious hours beating back a rumor that terrified them, followed by a news cycle of stories linking Youngkin to Trump.

“President Joe Biden is still targeting Glenn Youngkin as an ‘acolyte’ of former President Donald Trump.”

Mission accomplished for Democrats.

Trump’s $300 Million SPAC Deal May Have Skirted Securities Laws

The former president began discussing a deal with a ‘blank check’ company early this year. Investors weren’t told.

He agreed to merge his social media venture with what’s known as a special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC.

The result is that Mr.

Trump — largely shut out of the mainstream financial industry because of his history (https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/09/27/us/donald-trump-taxes.html) of bankruptcies and loan defaults (https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/04/magazine/deutsche-bank-trump.html) —

secured nearly $300 million in funding for his new business.

To get his deal done, Mr. Trump ventured into an unregulated and sometimes shadowy corner of Wall Street, working with an unlikely cast of characters: the former “Apprentice” contestants, a small Chinese investment firm and a little-known Miami banker named Patrick Orlando.

Lawyers and industry officials said that talks between Mr. Orlando and Mr. Trump or their associates consequently could draw scrutiny from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Digital World’s securities filings repeatedly stated that the company and its executives had not engaged in any “substantive discussions, directly or indirectly,” with a target company —

even though Mr. Orlando had been in discussions with Mr. Trump.

Digital World’s lack of disclosure about those conversations could be considered an omission of “material information.”

'Red flags were everywhere':

Bombshell report shows the Trump administration ignored warnings of 1/6 violence

A new report from the Washington Post published on Sunday detailed a deep dive into the extensive warnings the federal government received of potential violence and efforts to interfere with Congress's counting of the Electoral College votes on Jan. 6.

Despite this ample foreshadowing,

the administration and law enforcement agencies were still unable or unwilling to prepare adequate defenses

to keep the mob from storming the Capitol that day.

More trouble for Trump Org over accusations of insurance fraud

a former employee of one of Donald Trump's golf courses claims the Trump Organization has been bilking their insurance company with inflated damage claims. (https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/trump-organization-insurance-investigation-golf-course-1249755/)

the accusations stem from a flooding incident at the former president's Briarcliff golf course in 2011 where the Trump Org received $1.3 million to repair the damage that they spent a minimal amount to fix.

FBI payments to Trump’s Doral resort show ‘day-to-day graft’ of administration

The FBI paid $2,600 for six stays at former President Donald Trump's Doral golf resort in 2018 and 2019

"For all six stays, the FBI paid Trump National Doral the maximum the government allowed, according to the General Services Administration's per diem rate lookup (https://www.gsa.gov/travel/plan-book/per-diem-rates/per-diem-rates-lookup/?action=perdiems_report&state=FL&fiscal_year=2018&zip=33178&city=&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=checksimbalances&cdlcid=60be2306fe2c195e919529b2),"

the documents do not explain why the FBI chose Doral, which is situated near several government offices in the Miami area.

"It's disappointing that the pressure to funnel taxpayer money to President Trump's businesses extended even to the rank and file of the FBI,"

day-to-day graft that pervaded the Trump administration from the beginning."

government spending at Trump's properties during his time in office totaled $2.5 million.

President Joe Biden's approval rating fell to a new low of 38 percent in a USA Today/Suffolk University poll released on Sunday, with 59 percent disapproving of the job he is doing as chief executive.

The survey, which comes one year before the midterm elections, was completed just before Democrats passed a bipartisan infrastructure bill and advanced a social spending package, as well as before the release of an encouraging economic report that pointed to stronger-than-expected job growth.

Results of the poll include:

Vice President Kamala Harris' approval rating is even worse at 28 percent, with 51 percent disapproving of the job she is doing; 21 percent are undecided.
Among those surveyed, 46 percent say Biden has done a poorer job as president than they expected, including 16 percent of those who voted for him. Biden has particularly disappointed independents, with 44 percent saying he has done worse, not better, than they expected.
Sixty-four percent say they don't want Biden to run for a second term in 2024, including 28 percent of Democrats. Opposition to former President Donald Trump running for another term in the next presidential election is nearly as high, at 58 percent, including 24 percent of Republicans.
If the midterms were today, 46 percent said they would vote for their Republican congressional candidate, while only 38 percent said they would chose the Democratic one.
If the presidential election were today between Biden and Trump, 44 percent say they would vote for Trump, 40 percent for Biden, and 11 percent for an unnamed third-party candidate.
Among those polled, 66 percent say the United States is on the wrong track, while 20 percent say that the nation is headed in the right direction.
The infrastructure bill, which passed on Friday, is backed by 61 percent of those surveyed, including a third of Republicans, and opposed by 32 percent.
The Biden administration’s "Build Back Better" social spending package has the support of 47 percent, while 44 percent oppose it.
The poll surveyed 1,000 registered voters by landline and cell phone between November 3-5, with the margin of error at plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

‘I’m done’: Trump threatened to destroy GOP in temper tantrum over election loss -- and start his own party

Donald Trump angrily threatened to leave the Republican Party and start his own political party on his last day as president.

told Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel he would start his own party but backed down when GOP leaders threatened actions that would have cost him millions of dollars,

Trump told McDaniel he didn't care whether he destroyed the Republican Party.

"I'm done," Trump told McDaniel. "I'm starting my own party."

"You cannot do that," McDaniel told Trump. "If you do, we will lose forever."

Trump told McDaniel he didn't care whether he destroyed the Republican Party.

I'm done," Trump told McDaniel. "I'm starting my own party."

"You cannot do that," McDaniel told Trump. "If you do, we will lose forever."

"Exactly. You lose forever without me," Trump responded. "I don't care."

viewed the destruction of the GOP as payback to party leaders who betrayed him

but top Republicans made clear they would stop paying his legal bills from post-election challenges and

render his email list worthless.

"It's a list Trump had used to generate money by renting it to candidates at a steep cost," Karl writes.

"The list generated so much money that party officials estimated that it was worth about $100 million."

Subpoenaed Trump insiders may be forced to flip

New York Times' Maggie Haberman disagreed with CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin by asserting that

some may be forced, or be willing to testify, because they will have no choice.

Haberman countered saying the legal bills are piling up for all of the officials being scrutinized and that could end up being a problem for Trump if they run out of money.

Bannon criminal referral that was sent to the Justice Department -- which has gone nowhere in almost three weeks -- Toobin said the committee is struggling at the moment without the DOJ working faster.

even if they decide to -- the Justice Department finally gets its act together and prosecutes people -- the options for delay can go for months and months."

"There are some people who are actually doing some form of dealing with the committee,"

It depends, in some cases, how many legal fees they want to incur on their own.

Judge rejects Trump request to block House panel from presidential records

WASHINGTON – A federal judge refused Wednesday to block a House committee’s access to Donald Trump’s presidential records while he appeals a previous decision by the judge on those same documents.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan rejected the emergency request to keep the documents confidential while the case is argued. She had ruled late Tuesday against an injunction after finding President Joe Biden's decision to allow access to the documents outweighed the former president’s interest in keeping them confidential.

““Were the court to grant Plaintiff’s motion, the effect would be ‘to give [Plaintiff] the fruits of victory whether or not the appeal has merit,’” Chutkan wrote in her ruling. “Plaintiff is not entitled to injunctive relief simply because the procedural posture of this case has shifted.”

Trump appealed her decision to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. But without at least a temporary injunction, the National Archives and Records Administration is set to release the records Friday to the committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol.

Judge rules lawyers who challenged Trump's 2020 election loss in Colorado must pay large fines

Colorado Magistrate Judge N. Reid Neureiter issued a nearly $187,000 fine that the judge hopes will deter others from filing such lawsuits.

They must also pay $11,000 in legal fees to the states of Michigan and Pennsylvania, who were both named as defendants in the lawsuit.

"They are experienced lawyers who should have known better. They need to take responsibility for their misconduct,"

The judge explained that the high fees reinforced "the severity of the violation."

The lawyers also solicited donations for their lawsuits from the "arguably innocent and gullible public," which the judge also said was improper.

He hopes that the penalty will stop future lawsuits that aren't legitimate.

America's Orban and his Orban-ized mafiya forcing USA into fascism

RUMP’S CAPACITY TO STEAL THE 2024 ELECTION IS ONLY GROWING

The former president’s desperate scheme to overturn his 2020 defeat and incessant “fraud” lies were just the beginning,

as loyalists are angling for key jobs overseeing future elections.

Across the country, proponents of the “big lie” (https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2021/06/republicans-now-bragging-about-being-trump-big-lie-pushers) are angling for jobs overseeing election systems (https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2021/05/the-republicans-who-backed-trumps-election-lies-are-hatching-a-plot-to-take-over?utm_social-type=owned&utm_source=twitter&utm_brand=vf&mbid=social_twitter&utm_medium=social), seeking to

replace officials who proved insufficiently loyal to Trump in his 2020 loss to Joe Biden.

it’s not just the comparatively high-profile posts under threat;

Trump allies are also trying to take over lower-level positions as well.

This movement has been in progress for months, running in parallel with the GOP rush to enact voter suppression laws (https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2021/02/trumps-election-lies-are-fueling-a-new-gop-voter-suppression-crusade) based on Trump’s election lies.

the former president has made a number of endorsements in low-level races—unusual for a national figure—in recent weeks, aimed at lifting loyalists into key positions in swing states like Michigan.

“President Trump is committed to

saving America :lol

Trump told Fox News that he simply had to fire former FBI Director James Comey.

Otherwise, he could have been held accountable for his relationship with Russia during the 2016 election.

"Had I not fired Comey, you might not be talking to me right now about

Trump ‘snitched on himself’ in NY fraud probe — which could 'ruin' him financially

An ongoing fraud investigation in New York could "take an economic wrecking ball" to former president Donald Trump's company,

Snell said he believes the report suggests that someone from Trump's company is cooperating with the AG's office and testifying against him.

Snell added that he believes the backbone of the case is the evidence contained in documents.

Trump Organization reported the value of one of its properties to lenders as $527 million,

a few months before telling tax authorities it was worth only $16.7 million.

Donald Trump didn't need anyone to snitch on him. He snitched on himself with how broad of a disparity that was."

many people have been "sleeping" on the civil investigation because they want to see Trump go to prison on criminal charges.

"However, this could take an economic wrecking ball to the Trump Organization," he said.

"This could mean

hundreds of millions of dollars in back taxes, penalties, other fees

that he could have to pay to the state as well as to the lenders that he defrauded,

so this could be ruinous for him financially."

'This is the ballgame': MSNBC's Heilemann says it's all over for Trump after appeals court loss

John Heilemann claimed the unanimous decision by a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit

clearing the way for the House riot committee to receive documents from the National Archives is a devastating blow to Donald Trump.

Heilemann said it looks like the end of the road for Trump with only the Supreme Court left to appeal to.

"If you read all 68 pages, it's a line by line rebuke of the president and breaks up the guts of any arguments he's been making that day,"

this three-judge opinion by the D.C. Circuit was about as black and white -- I mean everything I have ever said about --

you just don't get a slam dunk through the legal system.

It's just wrong, the words were so historic."

"There is direct link with linkage between the president and the events of that day, unanimous three-judge opinion in the D.C. Circuit,"

claims of the president to executive privilege now that he's no longer president are absurd."

"It's great when you see the court in such emphatic terms come to the same conclusion. And I will say that this is the ball game."

Former White House lawyer calls for charging Sidney Powell with criminal fraud (https://www.rawstory.com/sidney-powell-election-fraud/)

https://www.rawstory.com/media-library/sidney-powell.jpg?id=27977746&width=980&height=551

laid out the case to charge former Donald Trump attorney Sidney Powell with criminal fraud charges for bilking followers out of millions (https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/sidney-powell-s-election-lie-cash-grab-must-be-treated-n1285759) to investigate the 2020 election.

Powell -- who is already facing a massive defamation lawsuit (https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/11/politics/defamation-lawsuits-sidney-powell-rudy-giuliani-mike-lindell/index.html) filed against her by Dominion Voting Systems -- should also be indicted on criminal charges.

raking in $14 million for her "Defending the Republic nonprofit group using baseless claims about 'fraud' in that election."

there are limits to free speech and Powell has crossed over into criminality.

"... spreading fake news to ask for money is commercial speech, and courts enforce laws criminalizing fraud.

While Powell may argue that she believed her claims, there is no First Amendment right to lie to people to get their money."

"Lies that people get away with in politics can result in indictments in the charitable fundraising world,"

she raised millions making such false statements makes it that much worse —

"...there are legal limits to lying, even in politics.

Lying about nonexistent election fraud to a turbulent crowd ahead of their storming the Capitol and

threatening to kill the vice president is incitement of insurrection, which can be criminal.

Likewise, lying about demonstrable facts concerning an election that is already over to get people to send you money which cannot possibly be used to change the election result should be prosecuted as fraud."

Here’s how Trump ignored reality to blow up Middle East peace deal

During the 2016 campaign, Trump vowed to cut “the mother of all deals” to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"Abbas told Trump that he thought they could make a deal. Netanyahu urged Trump to wait."

Yet Trump still pushed for a deal.

Trump reached the conclusion that Netanyahu never sincerely wanted to negotiate a two-state solution,"

Trump may have destroyed all hope for peace during the 2016 presidential campaign.

"Trump undermined his own efforts toward a peace deal in December 2017 when

he recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and said the U.S. Embassy would move there,"

It turned out to be far more serious, becoming the worst crisis between the U.S. and Palestinians in at least 15 years."

'Troubling' questions raised about disappearing millions from Trump's dark money machine

the "dark money" machine that is raking in hundreds of millions of dollars to promote Donald Trump recently changed ownership hands and

questions are being raised about where all the money is going and who controls it (https://www.thedailybeast.com/donald-trumps-dark-money-machine-america-first-policies-gets-a-makeoverand-new-owners).

the non-profit formerly known as America First Policies underwent an ownership change that further has obscured how the money is being used.

Pointing out that the changes "cast another layer of opacity over millions of dollars in already obscured donations the group made to controversial far-right causes in 2020,"

“Whatever your views of so-called ‘dark money’ may be, these groups are further obscuring money flows,”

the selling of a non-profit is quite unusual, telling the Beast,

"Nonprofits generally do not have owners as a matter of state law, so I am not sure what they mean by ‘sold.'

Nonprofits can sell their assets, including their name, as long as they do so for fair market value,” before adding, "the nonprofit itself would have received the proceeds.”

"All the confusion has one immediate upshot: It makes it even more difficult to understand who exactly is responsible for millions of dollars in shady grants that [Trump affiliated group] America First Policies doled out last year."

paper trails vanish almost immediately, with some entities appearing to have evaded scrutiny after failing to file tax reports for several years—

a pattern which raised concerns among experts in nonprofit law."

Judge dismisses Trump suit to block Congress from getting tax returns

"A long line of Supreme Court cases requires great deference to facially valid congressional inquiries.

Even the special solicitude accorded former Presidents does not alter the outcome,"

"The Court will therefore dismiss this case."

If the parties in the case don't reach an agreement on next steps within 14 days,

Trump can seek relief from an appeals court.

Remember how the Repugs sent BLM from DC to somewhere 100s of miles away, a backhand way to abuse, insult, disband BLm, "destruction of the administrative state"?

Most BLM leaders to return to Washington

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will move many of its leadership positions back to Washington, D.C., after a controversial Trump-era move to send them to Grand Junction, Colo.

An email sent out by BLM Director Tracy Stone-Manning that was obtained by The Hill states that the agency will “consolidate” most of its directors in Washington.

Judge scraps Trump lawsuit to shield tax returns from Congress
But the judge stayed the impact of his ruling for 14 days.

A federal judge has rejected former President Donald Trump’s bid to block congressional Democrats from obtaining his tax returns.

Judge Trevor McFadden, a Trump appointee to federal district court in Washington, said Trump was “wrong on the law” and that Congress is due “great deference” in its inquiries.

“Even the special solicitude accorded former Presidents does not alter the outcome,” McFadden wrote in a 45-page ruling (https://ecf.dcd.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/show_public_doc?2019cv1974-148). “The Court will therefore dismiss this case.”

RNC (reportedly) picking up the tab for Trump's private legal bills

The Republican National Committee has agreed to cover up to $1.6 million of Donald J. Trump’s personal legal bills, according to a person familiar with the matter, in an unusual arrangement under which the party is paying to defend the former president from ongoing investigations that focus on his private business practices.

The first payments, for $121,670, were made in October to the firm of Mr. Trump’s lawyer Ronald P. Fischetti, and were publicly reported last month to the Federal Election Commission.

The decision by the Republican Party to cover up to $1.6 million in legal fees was first reported on Thursday (https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/republican-party-trump-legal-bills-new-york-probe/2021/12/16/08af4524-5c3f-11ec-9c0e-a955f8a009c1_story.html) by The Washington Post and was confirmed by the person familiar with the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private negotiations.

Questions raised about $75 million funneled into Trump's struggling DC hotel

a new report issued this week criticized the General Services Administration (GSA) for not investigating a $75 million cash infusion (https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/trump-s-d-c-hotel-lease-not-good-look-federal-n1286272) that Donald Trump and his family used to prop up their struggling Washington, D.C. hotel. (https://www.rawstory.com/trump-international-hotel/)

Trump's lease of the Old Post Office from the federal government that became Trump International (https://www.wsj.com/articles/trumps-selling-prized-washington-d-c-hotel-for-375-million-11636923944)was likely illegal.

Noting that the GSA claimed in 2017 that the Trump family was in complete compliance with the terms of the lease,

Painter claims the new report paints a portrait of sloppy work that allowed the family retain possession of the hotel despite clear conflicts of interest.

the $75 million the Trumps invested in the hotel after an initial $200 million to refurbish the property.

The bottom line is that every dollar that went to the corporation that operated the hotel enriched Trump.

Trump obviously received a benefit from the federal government’s lease of the Old Post Office.

Terrified And Running Out Of Options Trump Sues NY AG To Stop Trump Organization Investigation

he sued NY Attorney General Letitia James to block her investigation into the Trump Organization.

In the filing, Trump’s legal team claims that investigations launched by James’ office

“are in no way connected to legitimate law enforcement goals, but rather, are merely a thinly-veiled effort to publicly malign Trump and his associates.

“Her mission is guided solely by political animus and a desire to harass, intimidate, and retaliate against a private citizen who she views as a political opponent,” the document adds.

If Trump’s argument against James sounds familiar, that’s because it is.

Trump used the exact same argument in his executive privilege lawsuit,

where Trump argued that the 1/6 Committee lacked a legitimate legislative purpose to conduct an investigation.

Donald Trump is 'freaking out' -- and with good reason

Trump is in an awkward place with his legal problems where he's quickly running out of options.

Katyal explained that the major crime is the 18 US Code 1505, obstructing an official proceeding.

"It doesn't take a rocket scientist to learn Donald Trump today is, to use the technical legal term, freaking out," he mocked.

"He is freaking out because of the revelations that you just mentioned a moment ago.

Also because there was a decision ten days ago by the federal court in Washington, D.C. by

a Trump appointee and what the judge said is that

one of the insurrectionists was guilty of violating this statute obstruction of an official proceeding, the count of votes on Jan. 6."

the insurrectionist clearly intended to try and stop the count and that it doesn't require a lawyer proving the person did or didn't intend violence.

With or without violence,

the person acted with corrupt intent to stop the counting of votes.

That, he explained, is the manual for prosecuting Trump.

"That is what he is worried about and why you see all of these moves by Trump and his allies today,"

The Insurrectionist Trump Announces He Will Give a Speech at Mar-a-Lago on 1/6

Trump, who incited an insurrection against Congress when, motivated by his lies, a mob of his supporters stormed the United States Capitol on the false premise that the election had been stolen, announced he will give a speech at his Mar-a-Lago estate on January 6, 2022, the one-year anniversary of the attack.

“Why isn’t the Unselect Committee of highly partisan political hacks investigating the CAUSE of the January 6th protest, which was the rigged Presidential Election of 2020?” Trump said in his statement announcing the event.

The statement continues by noting that Trump plans to reframe the November 2020 election as “the insurrection”

remember, the insurrection took place on November 3rd, it was the

completely unarmed protest of the rigged election that took place on January 6th.”

Trump just admitted that he knows he's in trouble

Frank Figliuzzi believes he noticed another sign (https://www.rawstory.com/trump-doj-fbi-republicans-investigated/). Figliuzzi believes that with an unhinged tirade against Democratic prosecutors and law enforcement, Individual 1 all but admitted that he knows he’s directly in the legal line of fire.

In case you missed this latest Trump tantrum, read it here, courtesy of Trump spokeswoman/sockpuppet Liz Harrington.

NEW!

President Donald J. Trump:

"All the Democrats want to do is put people in jail. They are vicious, violent, and Radical Left thugs. They are destroying people’s lives, which is the only thing they are good at. They couldn’t get out of Afghanistan without disgracing our... pic.twitter.com/eSqKpLdidW (https://t.co/eSqKpLdidW)

Many saw this as yet another case of steaming hypocrisy from Trump. Remember, this is the same man who actually encouraged those “Lock her up!” chants at Hillary. But Figliuzzi saw something different: a time bomb about to go off.

when Trump goes off like this, it almost always means that “he’s learned something he doesn’t know”—and doesn’t like it.

In this case, Figliuzzi suspects that Trump has learned that “something … is about to happen to him” and he’s “lashing out.”

Specifically, Figliuzzi thinks that someone told him that either federal prosecutors, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, or New York state Attorney General Letitia James are “getting closer to him.”

Legal experts explain why Michael Cohen is one of the most important cases against the Trump administration

the importance of Michael Cohen's lawsuit (https://www.rawstory.com/michael-cohen-sues-first-amendment/) against former President Donald Trump's administration and Attorney General Bill Barr (https://www.rawstory.com/2020/07/bill-barr-needs-to-reveal-who-inserted-illegal-clause-in-michael-cohens-release-agreement-ex-prosecutor/).

According to them, it's among the most important cases dealing with the behavior of the previous White House.

Cohen is alleging that his First Amendment rights were violated when he was told that

the only way he'd be released from prison to house arrest during the COVID outbreak was if he signed over his rights.

The Justice Department told him that

if he gets to go home he can't appear on television or write a tell-all book.

Cohen sued, winning the case with a judge who said,

"I find that the purpose of transferring Mr. Cohen from furlough and home confinement to jail is retaliatory,

and it’s retaliatory because of his desire to exercise his First Amendment rights to publish a book."

"I've never seen such a clause in 21 years of being a judge and sentencing people. How can I take any other inference but that it was retaliatory?"

it seems like another petty Trump inner-circle battle,

the reality is much more serious,

can occur to any of us if we are targeted for exercising our rights in a manner which offends a corrupt president."

"A [POTUS] being a bad guy and

then being able to use the Bureau of Prisons and the Justice Department

to go pluck his enemies out of their homes,

shackle them and throw them in jail without legitimate cause,

that is a blaring red siren,"

Trump Administration Overpaid Farmers By $3 Billion, Unevenly Distributed Aid

After President Donald Trump (https://www.newsweek.com/topic/donald-trump)'s administration imposed tariffs, causing international disputes that hurt farmers,

the U.S. Department of Agriculture's methods for calculating the amount of damage for each county was faulty,

resulting in overpayment and inconsistent payment,

corn producers received around $3 billion more than the USDA's estimate of trade damage to corn,

while payments for soybeans, cotton and sorghum farmers were below the estimated trade damages.

"Though corn yields are higher in the Midwest and West, corn producers received an estimated average of $69 per acre in the South, $61 in the Midwest, $34 in the Northeast, and $29 in the West,"

Trump USDA picked winners and losers in their trade aid programs and left everyone else behind,"

"Making larger payments to farmers in the South than farmers in the Midwest or elsewhere, regardless of whether those farmers actually experienced a larger loss, undermines our future ability to support farmers when real disasters occur."

“Donald Trump will be indicted for racketeering, tax-fraud, bank-fraud, and insurance-fraud in New York;

he will be indicted for attempting to interfere with an election in Atlanta; and

he will be indicted for sedition in Washington.

Trump will be convicted in all three cities by the testimony of his closest associates.

The New York Attorney General, Leticia James, has subpoenaed Donald Trump to be deposed in a civil fraud investigation.

It appears that prosecutors intend to indict Trump in both civil and criminal cases.

Attorney General James has been working closely with The Manhattan District Attorney who empaneled the 1st Grand jury last May to hear evidence of the Trump Family’s criminal activities in New York.

This Grand Jury, (empaneled by retiring Manhattan District Attorney, Cyrus Vance,) indicted the Trump Organization—(of which Trump and his 3 eldest children are officers)—and

also indicted the Trump Family’s Chief Financial Officer.

The Trump Organization and its CFO were indicted for Tax-Fraud, Grand Larceny, and other felonies.
Since July, this Grand Jury has been busy hearing testimony from a parade of Trump employees.

It is not yet known which of these employees have flipped and agreed to testify against their boss.

Before the end of Vance’s term on December 31,

this Grand Jury is expected to indict multiple employees, officers and members of the board of directors of the Trump Organization—

including personal indictments of Donald, Ivanka, Junior and Eric Trump.
In early November, a 2nd Grand Jury was empaneled in Manhattan to investigate the difference between the value Donald Trump reported for each property on his tax filings and the value he claimed on the same property with insurance carriers.

The newly elected Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, will lead the prosecutions of those indicted by both the 1st and 2nd Manhattan Grand Juries.

Alvin Bragg has a successful history of holding the Trump Family responsible for fraudulent activity—

including a principal role in shutting down the Trump Family Foundation after the Trumps “redirected” Not-For-Profit cash gifts donated to fight childhood cancer to Trump’s political campaign coffers.

A Grand Jury in Fulton County, Georgia empaneled to hear

evidence that Donald Trump led a criminal enterprise to interfere with the counting of ballots in Georgia’s November 3, 2020 elections will end Trump’s Presidential aspirations.
Fulton County District Attorney,

Fani Willis has a recording of Donald Trump committing the felony.

She will put Brad Raffensperger—and every other Georgia Official that Trump pressured to change the vote—in the witness chair.

She will subpoena Lindsey Graham, and each of Trump’s other co-conspirators.

Most will flip and testify against Trump to avoid prison.

Those that choose to avail themselves of their 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination, will be immunized by the court and directed to testify.

It will not take long for Trump to be indicted in Georgia.

The indictments in Atlanta and New York will be followed by other criminal indictments.

The District Attorney in Westchester, New York has opened a criminal investigation into Donald Trump’s finances at his Westchester golf club.

Working with two former Trump insiders, the Westchester District Attorney has uncovered what is believed to be a Million Dollar Insurance Fraud.

The Congressional investigation of Trump’s attempt to overthrow the government on January 6, 2021, and

Scotland’s investigation of money laundering brings

the number of Donald Trump’s known criminal investigations to five.

Prosecutors are preparing to indict Donald Trump in Atlanta, Manhattan, Westchester, Edinburgh, and Washington, D.C.”

Trump’s 2024 playbook is straight out of Hitler’s ‘Mein Kampf’: Yale historian Timothy Snyder

an alarming report (https://www.npr.org/2021/12/23/1065277246/trump-big-lie-jan-6-election) on "the clear and present danger of Trump's enduring 'Big Lie.'"

Yale University history professor Timothy Snyder noted Adolph Hitler used a similar strategy.

"Part of the character of the 'big lie' is that it turns the powerful person into the victim.

And then that allows the powerful person to actually exact revenge, like it's a promise for the future,"

"The lie is so big that it reorders the world.

And so part of telling the big lie is that

you immediately say it's the other side that tells the big lie.

Sadly, but it's just a matter of record, all of that is in Mein Kampf."

Former Democratic senator offers Merrick Garland a roadmap for criminally charging Trump

, questions are surfacing beyond President Donald Trump's role, including what he was doing for hours while even his political allies were begging him to intervene.

former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO), a former state prosecutor,

explained what she would encourage Attorney General Merrick Garland to do in terms of persuading members of grand jury to indict Trump criminally.

She encouraged prosecutors to walk jurors through what it looked like in those moments when Trump was watching television coverage of the riots.

What McCaskill explained is that the text messages, emails, phone calls and desperate requests for help he and his staff were getting are all evidence of Trump's malicious intent.

"We can go through and we can put the images at a specific time," she explained.

"And we can then fill in the text messages, the phone calls that were flooding the White House saying, get him to call them off.

Now, what was he watching on TV at those moments?

He was watching windows being broken.

He was watching police officers being stabbed with flag poles.

He was watching people hang from the balcony in the Senate.

He was watching people carry around government property proudly like trophies in the capital.

And, frankly, he was watching a confrontation at the door of the House where someone was killed."

"Give me those facts. Give me those timelines, and give me a jury," McCaskill said.

"I'm just telling you, any responsible leader would want to end the violence, not provoke it.

That's what he did that day,

and that's what this committee is going to layout.

And that's where Merrick Garland is either going to rise to the occasion or

go down in infamy as one of the worst attorney generals in this country's history."

There are encouraging signs that Trump may finally be headed for his day of legal reckoning

The House January 6 Select Committee (https://january6th.house.gov/) is diligently investigating the origins of the insurrection, including Trump’s part in inciting the riot at the Capitol that delayed the certification of Joe Biden’s victory.

Trump is under consideration for a criminal referral to the Justice Department.

At the same time, state-level investigations against Trump appear to be heating up in New York (https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/20/politics/bragg-new-york-trump/index.html) and Georgia (https://www.nytimes.com/2021/11/06/us/politics/trump-election-interference-investigation.html).

While we endure the agonizing wait, investigators have a truly staggering array of potential charges to shift through and analyze. They include:

There is no guarantee, of course, that any of this will lead to an actual arraignment.

Ultimately, the final calls will be made by three prosecutors:

Attorney General Merrick Garland on the federal level;

Alvin Bragg Jr., the incoming Manhattan District Attorney in January;

and Fani Willis, the Fulton County, GA, District Attorney.

Whether any of the three prove to be up to the challenge, one thing is certain:

It isn’t sufficient to prosecute the low-level rioters who stormed the Capitol.

To restore the rule of law, the leaders of the insurrection must be charged and tried.

This includes the ringleader of them all—Donald Trump.

In both New York (https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/laws/CPL/30.10) and federal (https://fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/RL31253.pdf) courts, the basic statute of limitations specifies that charges must be brought within five years of the commission of a felony. In Georgia (https://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/criminal-case-statute-of-limitations/GA-felonies-misdemeanors.htm#:~:text=The%20general%20time%20li mits%20are,years%20for%20other%20felonies%2C%20and ), the general statute is four years.

The clock is ticking. There is no more time to waste.

Trump suffers "a meltdown in Mar-a-Lago" as Jan. 6 probe closes in

https://mediaproxy.salon.com/width/1200/https://media.salon.com/2021/07/donald-trump-mar-a-lago-0719211.jpg

Trump made to the Willard hotel, where his allies Steve Bannon, Rudy Giuliani and others were huddled in a "war room" as part of an effort to disrupt the certification of Joe Biden's election win, and Guardian reporter Hugo Lowell -- who first revealed (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/nov/30/donald-trump-called-top-aides-capitol-riot-biden) that call -

he instructed his operatives the find ways to stop the certification

from taking place at all at the joint session of Congress on Jan. 6.

If you speak to Trump's allies, this is not a big deal --

he was just trying to find ways to delay certification and find another day,

but I always thought this was a really disingenuous characterization because, either way,

through action or inaction,

he managed to get the certification stopped, and

the Capitol was attacked and

now it's going to loom large in the committee's investigation."

Lowell predicted the U.S. Supreme Court would decide in the spring whether Congress may see that evidence, and

he agreed the committee would eventually take some action against Trump personally.

"It's increasingly becoming more likely because they are looking at criminal referrals for the former president," Lowell said.

"They're still looking at Bannon and

they're still looking at Giuliani and [John] Eastman.

These are the guys at the Willard

There was, like, a massive operation happening at the Willard."

they are now focusing on the culpability of Trump himself and

whether he directed the Willard to then direct the Capitol attack,

There was, like, a massive operation happening at the Willard."

they are now focusing on the culpability of Trump himself and

whether he directed the Willard to then direct the Capitol attack,

and if there was some sort of ongoing conspiracy."

Trump is in a bit of a meltdown, from what we understand, down in Mar-A-Lago."

Sure, even Putin mentioned it to Biden at their sit earlier this year. The Poot wanted to know why they weren't granted bail, said it a basic human right, don't you know.

Regardless of that unsavory business, Recky, the old man specifically told them to::: "Go down there and peacefully protest."

The first phase of the Texas election audit demanded by former President Donald Trump failed to find significant voting issues, according to a report by the secretary of state's office.

The first phase consisted of a partial manual count of ballots and security assessments in four of the largest counties in the Lone Star state, the Texas Tribune reported. All counties are already required to undergo this as part of the normal process.

Trash helped his white rural ag voters by screwing their brown ag workers

Thousands of seasonal farmworkers will get their much-deserved raises after all

The previous administration used its final weeks of power to push through a final slew of anti-immigrant policies (https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2020/11/19/1996925/-Trump-using-final-weeks-of-power-to-push-more-immigration-changes-just-to-be-a-jerk), including an

“unconscionable” move freezing the wages for thousands of seasonal farmworkers (https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2020/11/13/1995296/--Unconscionable-Trump-admin-moves-to-freeze-wages-for-essential-farm-workers-amid-pandemic) for two years.

It was a plan to financially benefit farmers while screwing over the kind of workers that very same administration had declared “essential” (https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2021/7/22/2041287/--This-is-our-moment-to-pass-legalization-farmworkers-and-advocates-say-following-Senate-hearing) amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

“Farmworker advocates sued the Department of Agriculture over the proposed wage freeze and secured an injunction to stop the ruling.”

It was cruel enough that undocumented farmworkers were deemed essential but were then shut out of emergency pandemic relief. (https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2020/4/3/1933993/-Undocumented-farm-workers-deemed-essential-during-pandemic-but-are-shut-out-of-financial-relief)

“Thousands of farmworkers will get raises thanks to a lawsuit,” United Farm Workers tweeted (https://twitter.com/UFWupdates/status/1468111983484436482?s=20) earlier this month.

“Alongside allies ⁦@FarmwrkrJustice (https://twitter.com/FarmwrkrJustice) and @ufwfoundation (https://twitter.com/ufwfoundation),

we blocked the Trump administration move that would have withheld $1.6 billion from farm workers over the next 10 years.”

Cheney: Jan. 6 Committee Has ‘Firsthand Testimony’ Trump Resisted Pleas To Stop Attack

the panel has heard testimony that offers insight into the communications to former President Trump on the day his supporters breached the Capitol.

Appearing on ABC News, Cheney, who serves as vice chair of the committee, said that the committee has “firsthand testimony” that Trump was sitting in the dining room next to the Oval Office watching TV as the deadly Capitol insurrection unfolded.

detailed pleas by Trump’s daughter Ivanka and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for the then-President to put a stop to the deadly attack.

“We know members of his family, we know his daughter. We have

firsthand testimony that his daughter Ivanka went in at least twice to ask him to please stop this violence,”

the committee cautioned the Supreme court that allowing Trump to block access to White House records would amount to the court extending monarchical power to a former executive.

“Accepting Petitioner’s arguments would result in a remarkable expansion of a former President’s interests—

at the expense of the incumbent President’s Article II authority—

contravening not only GSA, but also the Constitution,” the panel wrote.

“The Constitution’s text and structure reflect the Founders’ rejection of monarchy and perpetual power.”
