Trump Biographer Tim O’Brien Says Trump ‘Admired’ Jeffrey Epstein: ‘He Routinely Talked About Him’

Trump is distorting facts :lol

when he says he didn’t know Jeffrey Epstein, saying “they knew each other well.”

“When the president stands on the White House lawn and

said he barely knew Jeffrey Epstein, that’s not supported by the fact pattern.

They knew each other well from 1987 to at least 2o02.

He traveled on Epstein’s jet at least once,”

“Epstein was either a member of Mar-a-Lago in name or substance,

but he was there all the time and

the president wanted him to be there,” he continued.

“I spent about two years, a lot of time with Trump in the mid-2000s, and

he routinely talked about Jeffrey Epstein as someone he admired,

he felt they were in sync.”

“What did he admire about him?” Wallace asked.

“He liked that he was free to pursue women whenever he wanted to,

he liked that he had a lot of money to spend the way he wanted to,”

“There’s a lot of similarities to how these two men approached the world.

And it is not credible that the president didn’t have a close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, and

they were worried about it up until Election Day,”

Trump’s Department of Labor being led by sweatshop defender after pedophile supporter resigned in disgrace

After cabinet Secretary Alex Acosta resigned in disgrace on Friday, the Department of Labor will now be led by an acting director who was a former lobbyist for Jack Abramoff, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes reported.

Patrick Pizzella worked for Abramoff before his boss went to jail, working on to defend the “sweatshop” conditions in the Northern Marias Islands.

The Department of Labor is tasked with stopping sex trafficking and sweatshops.

Secretary Of State Pompeo Debunked Trump’s ‘Deep State’ Conspiracy Theory

Trump has ordered an investigation into how the CIA handled its investigation of Russian election interference.

Specifically, Trump is hoping that an investigation (https://shareblue.com/ag-barr-investigating-trump-deep-state-conspiracy-theories/) led by one of his loyalists, Attorney General William Barr, will cast doubt on the CIA’s conclusion that Russia wanted Trump to win the race.

There’s just one problem, as Politico reported (https://www.politico.com/story/2019/07/12/pompeo-cia-russia-findings-1409190) Friday. Trump’s own secretary of state,

Mike Pompeo, already debunked this theory — two years ago,

in a thorough inquiry he led when he was the head of the CIA.

The inquiry, which Politico noted was conducted at the CIA’s “highest levels,” verified that the CIA did nothing improper in its investigation.

Trump is still pushing his loyalists to find another explanation that makes him look better.

Appeasing them by firing these people one after another is folly. I told him that.
Then he comes to the aid of Pelosi this morning, citing she ain't a racist, after she called him one a month or more ago! See, he wants 'em to let up. Tried to tell him that'll never happen as long as he trod this earth.

Barr Throws Trump Under the Bus

A declaration by the attorney general makes it just a little harder for Trump to pretend that he is above the law.

the most important moment at Trump’s Thursday joint press conference with Attorney General William Barr was the one where

Barr committed Trump to obeying the Supreme Court.

By making an explicit commitment to obey the courts and the rule of law,

Barr has boxed in his president.

Trump, at various points, has suggested that he might defy or circumvent the courts. But Barr this time left no wiggle room.

Barr said this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRU12plOlQQ) (read it slowly and carefully):

Some in the media have been suggesting in the hysterical mode of the day :lol

that the administration has been planning to add the citizenship question to the Census by exec fiat without regard to contrary court orders or what the Supreme Court might say.

This has been based on rank speculation. :lol

As should be obvious, this has never been under consideration. :lol

We have always accepted that any new decision

to add a citizenship question to the census would be subject to judicial review. :lol

That was, to put it mildly, BS.

In fact, Trump has repeatedly threatened to defy the courts,

most recently when he abruptly changed the game plan (https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1146435093491277824?s=20) on the Justice Department’s efforts to follow the Supreme Court’s census ruling.

Former students recall Jeffrey Epstein's 'persistent attention' on teenage girls during his teaching days (https://theweek.com/speedreads/852609/former-students-recall-jeffrey-epsteins-persistent-attention-teenage-girls-during-teaching-days)

Epstein allegedly recently paid (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/jeffrey-epstein-news-financier-accused-witness-tampering-wiring-money-co-conspirators-2019-07-12/)two possible co-conspirators in a non-prosecution agreement with federal prosecutors in Florida 12 years ago a combined $350,000.

"This course of action, and in particular its timing, suggests the defendant was attempting to further influence co-conspirators who might provide information against him in light of the recently re-emerging allegations,"

Concerned that Epstein will tamper with witnesses, they also argued that he should be denied bail (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/jeffrey-epstein-news-financier-accused-witness-tampering-wiring-money-co-conspirators-2019-07-12/) while he awaits trial.

eight former students of Epstein, who in the 1970s taught math and physics at the Dalton School in New York, said that his conduct with teenage girls "had left an impression that had lingered for decades,"

One student recalled him attending a party where students were drinking. Others recalled his "persistent attention" on girls in hallways and classrooms

A few students did say Epstein had an uncomfortably close relationship with one of their female peers.

When asked during the deposition if he had any sexual contact with his former students after his teaching days, Epstein replied,

"not that I remember." :lol

Trump Furious That Mar-a-Lago Is Left with No Employees After ICE Raid

https://media.newyorker.com/photos/5d29fdb41ddae900084adf38/master/w_727,c_limit/Borowitz-MarALagoRaid.jpg

PALM BEACH, Florida —Donald Trump was reportedly “hopping mad” on Saturday after a surprise ice raid left his Mar-a-Lago retreat with no employees.

The ice agents conducting the pre-dawn raid swept through the opulent Palm Beach club and

left guests with no one to prepare their food, wash their dishes, or clean their rooms.

When informed of the news, a furious Trump reportedly barked at his

son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and his sons Eric and Donald, Jr., ordering them to hurry to Palm Beach and wait on tables.
A spokesman for Mar-a-Lago called the situation “dire,” warning that

the resort had lost almost as many staff members as the White House.

Trump's Epstein problem isn't going to go away with Acosta, with more women coming forward

https://images.dailykos.com/images/311208/story_image/GettyImages-455509848.jpg?1476283238

Trump "stewing" about further disclosures.

"There would just continue to be disclosures," a senior official told CNN's Jim Acosta.

"There would be questions in this town and on the [2020 campaign] trail."

Chances are, given Trump's old and long friendship with Epstein,

tossing Acosta won't be an end to those questions.

There are already new disclosures (https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/crime/article232551882.html), with

"at least a dozen new victims" of Epstein coming forward this week.

After Epstein's arrest Saturday,

"four women have reached out to New York lawyer David Boies, and

at least 10 other women have approached other lawyers who have represented dozens of Epstein’s alleged victims in the past."

One in Palm Beach, Jack Scarola, said that at least five women have contacted either him or Fort Lauderdale attorney Brad Edwards.

Trump Says Ilhan Omar Should Go Back to Africa: ‘You Can’t Leave Fast Enough’

So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen,

who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all),

now loudly……….and viciously telling the people of the United States,

the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth,

how our government is to be run,” Trump wrote. :lol Trash didn't write that :lol

“Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.

Then come back and show us how……..it is done.

These places need your help badly,

you can’t leave fast enough.

I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!” Trump wrote.

Trump’s lying lawyers are doing permanent damage to the Justice Department

The Solicitor General of the United States has a unique relationship with the Supreme Court.

Unlike other lawyers, the solicitor general routinely makes unproven claims about what the government knows and how the government is constrained, and the court typically trusts these claims.

This relationship of trust grew over many decades, and

it is the product of the rigorous process the solicitor general’s office uses to vet such claims with the relevant agencies to ensure that they are telling the truth.

Simply put,

the Supreme Court trusts the solicitor general’s office

because that office spend a very long time demonstrating its credibility.

current Solicitor General Noel Francisco strained his special relationship with the justices to the point where it was starting to fray (https://thinkprogress.org/noel-francisco-will-supervise-mueller-if-trump-fires-rosenstein-af2c0ec66b13/).

In a 2018 argument, a frustrated Justice Sonia Sotomayor asked Francisco, “How many times this term already have you flipped positions from prior administrations?”

this administration abandoned views that the Justice Department held for many years.

Often, it did so in ways that undercut the institutional interests of the United States (https://thinkprogress.org/noel-francisco-will-supervise-mueller-if-trump-fires-rosenstein-af2c0ec66b13/), while benefiting the Republican Party.

The answer to Sotomayor’s question, according to Georgetown law professor Marty Lederman, is at least a dozen times (https://twitter.com/marty_lederman/status/968303168701583365?refsrc=email&s=11).

it’s probably significant that Francisco couches these assertions in language such as “according to DoD.” (https://twitter.com/marty_lederman/status/1149974604586409984?s=11)

Having been caught once asserting that a deadline exists that the administration later disavowed,

Francisco likely wants to, in Lederman’s words, give himself some “wiggle room.”

the word of this administration means approximately nothing after the census case. :lol

this Supreme Court is still dominated by Republicans, so it remains fairly likely that they will rule in favor of Trump on the schedule Francisco demanded in the Sierra Club case.

Noel Francisco will no longer be solicitor general.

Nevertheless the cloud of partisanship Francisco raised over his office will remain.

The Supreme Court now knows that

the solicitor general’s office can be captured by partisans

who are not reliable custodians of the special relationship that office built with the justices over many decades.

Abuse of female politicians is rife online - and much of it is being directed by established far-right groups and figures,

Female politicians across Europe have been targeted with threatening and misogynist content.

On both mainstream and fringe social media platforms, analysis of selected profiles found women in politics faced frequent comments targeting their gender, race and physical appearance.

the abuse aimed at female MPs exceeds that directed at their male counterparts, and differed in its focus and content.

Trump administration’s national security offices hampered due to ‘blacklisting’ of experts who opposed his election

many of those attending who might provide counsel to Donald Trump are being iced out for the crime of opposing his election in 2016.

According to the report, “Republican national security heavyweights blacklisted from his administration for signing a pair of ‘never Trump’ letters in 2016 face a crossroads — remain opposed or support him in 2020.”

“The White House has shown little willingness to tap into this wellspring of expertise,

even as Trump cycles through national security aides and

faces a dwindling pool of experienced staffers for a potential second term,”

“Of the 149 experts who signed at least one of the two letters warning that Trump was unfit for office

— the first published on the War on the Rocks website during the 2016 GOP primaries and the second on the New York Times’s site during the general election campaign —

just one has been hired by the Trump administration.

State Department intelligence analyst Rod Schoonover drafted a critical report on U.S. security issues

, only to see half of that report cut away by officials from the Trump White House—

the half of the report that dealt with threats caused by the climate crisis.

In response to being asked to update Congress on national security, without discussing the biggest threat facing national security, Schoonover has resigned.

a “senior White House official” accused the ten-year department veteran of being

“a clear example of some within the behemoth of the U.S. bureaucracy

running around thinking their way is the only way and

scumbag Barr shuts down SDNY investigation of scumbag Trash

Federal investigation into Trump Organization appears to have ended... and the timing is suspicious (https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2019/7/13/1871477/-Federal-investigation-into-Trump-Organization-appears-to-have-ended-and-the-timing-is-suspicious)

the investigation being conducted into the Trump Organization by U.S. attorneys in the Manhattan District of New York appears to be wrapping up with no charges whatsoever.

there has been no contact between the U.S. Attorney's office and officials at the Trump Organization for over five months.

U.S. attorneys at the Manhattan office requested interviews with executives of the Trump Organization. But those interviews never happened. In fact, there has been no contact between the U.S. Attorney's office and officials at the Trump Organization for over five months.

It doesn’t appear that the investigation into the Trump Organization has wrapped up after finding nothing wrong.

It appears that, five months ago, the investigation was simply halted, and

the Justice Department has sat on that decision until now,

when news that the organization has been “cleared” is beginning to leak out.

Five months ago was when William Barr was confirmed as attorney general.

It certainly looks as if

writing up a completely misleading “summary” of the special counsel report

is far from the biggest favor that Barr has done for Trump.

Did Obama Admin Build Cages That House Immigrant Children at U.S.-Mexico Border?

While under scrutiny for treatment of migrants, the Trump administration has been shifting blame to its predecessor.

That portion of Trump’s commentary is true.

Images of children behind chain-link fencing were widely seen at a site in McAllen, Texas, that

had been converted (https://valleycentral.com/news/local/new-mcallen-facility-to-house-1000-immigrant-children) from a warehouse to an immigrant-detention facility in 2014.

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/obama-build-cages-immigrants/ (https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/obama-build-cages-immigrants/)

So therefore, the standard rightwing defense goes: Trash is bad, but is no worse than Obama! :lol

‘Alcaida’ And ‘Peopel’: Trump’s Handwritten Notes Show That He Is A Racist With Poor Grammar

https://2vwlfu3ynqxb3npfhm3m8lde-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/trump-spelling.jpg

It doesn’t take a Rhodes scholar to recognize that Donald Trump isn’t the brightest bulb in the box, but there are some instances in which this fact is simply unavoidable.

the president gave the public a view of his notes – and they weren’t pretty.

Judging from the president’s scribbles,

he wouldn’t even be able to advance out of the first round of a grade school spelling bee.

In a pair of words jotted down at the top of Trump’s, he wrote “ALCAIDA” and “SOME PEOPEL.”

Donald Trump has shown time and again that he has the intellectual abilities of a toddler – and

he seems to revel in it.

The longer his presidency goes on, the more comfortable he is flaunting his idiocy and racism,

he often receives the loudest applause at MAGA mob rallies when he spews ignorant, vile and white nationalist attacks on his political opponents, particularly when they are minority women.

Republicans in Congress refuse to condemn (https://www.politicususa.com/2019/07/15/mitt-romney-trump-racist-tweets.html) anything he says or does only emboldens him to continue ramping up the racist, moronic rhetoric.

What’s frightening is that it’s only going to get worse as 2020 the presidential campaign heats up.

his big push to make prescription drugs cheaper,

an issue that rivals infrastructure in the frequency with which Trump makes big promises,

fell through.

Unlike infrastructure, his plan to lower drug prices actually got as far as a proposed rule, but it was yanked back (https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/white-house-kills-key-drug-pricing-rule-to-eliminate-hidden-rebates/2019/07/11/ff595192-a3de-11e9-bd56-eac6bb02d01d_story.html?utm_term=.ab666042428c) last week.

the proposal would cost $180 billion over the next 10 years and drive up Medicaid premium costs, and

the last thing the administration wants to do is raise Medicare premiums a year before an election.

Johnston agreed that

Trump has been deeply racist throughout his career — but added that another major problem is

Trump’s cognitive faculties are severely impaired.

“He once removed a black blackjack dealer because he thought it would curry favor with his biggest gambler, [alleged mobster] Bob Libutti.

He’s found to have discriminated in his casino business against blacks, Asians, women, Puerto Ricans.

He has a long history of actions.

We should be paying attention to his actions, and

they’re flat-out racist.”

“We have a mentally ill person in the White House,

someone who is deranged, and

it’s awful to contemplate that.

we need to recognize this, that we have somebody who is incompetent—”

“He is at times delusional

and there are videos where you can see he’s delusional.

Trump Can Always Find Someone Worse

To replace a disgraced secretary of labor, Trump has elevated a sweatshop lobbyist.

The Trump administration is so scandal-plagued that the outrages have to be grouped into genres.

There are personal scandals, involving individual misconduct of a sort that transcends the partisan divide, such as Donald Trump’s alleged payout to his onetime amour Stormy Daniels.

But there are also ideological offenses involving an extremist right-wing agenda, as with the family separation policy on the border.

Trump managed to name a replacement who might turn out, at least in policy terms, to be

even worse: Patrick Pizzella,

the deputy secretary of labor, is set to be elevated to acting secretary.

Pizzella is likely to be an eager henchman for big business in its efforts to throttle labor unions and discard Obama-era regulations.

‘1950s racism straight from the White House’: Trump’s tweets revolt politicians around the world

British politician David Lammy branded Trump’s comments “1950s racism straight from the White House.”
Prime Minister Theresa May, who has just days left in office, also condemned the tweets.

“The prime minister’s view is that the language used to refer to these women was completely unacceptable,”

“Trump’s racism is sickening. Any European politician who fails to condemn this has questions to answer & should be ashamed of themselves,” wrote (https://twitter.com/guyverhofstadt/status/1150493327671877632) Belgian politician Guy Verhofstadt.

In Germany, commentators condemned Trump’s remarks on Monday. To rely on “ugly sentiments,” wrote the Süddeutsche Zeitung daily newspaper, has “long become part of his strategy.”

Trump’s tweets, the paper wrote, were so “clearly racist, that a debate over their content is a waste of time.”

German news outlet Der Spiegel echoed those comments.

In the West Bank, where Tlaib has relatives and is considered a hometown hero despite having never lived there, many saw Trump’s tweets as a confirmation of what they view as a pro-Israel bias — and an insult to values America purports to uphold.

“This statement proves that Trump is anti-Palestinian, anti-Islam and completely biased toward Israel,”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau denounced the tweets when asked whether he considered them racist during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Monday.

Get it on a SC track along with the rest. We won on the Muslim Ban.

Just my opinion, but the legal problem in this instance is that there’s no natsec implications, as it was claimed in the (eventually trimmed down) Muslim ban. He could probably pull this off if he tried to apply it to those same countries. The rationale just doesn’t apply for Guatemala or Honduras. Making it more complicated is that this is a purported reform of the asylum process, which is fully in the government control (no illegal migrants here), and there’s laws in the books that directly contradict this motion.

I’m not stating I’m for or against the maneuver, just stating that IMO, it has low chances of surviving legal scrutiny. I think they know too, since they tried to make this work by having Guatemala institute the procedure, until their president told them to go fuck your mother some more.

He gets that 2nd 4 years & it'll be "you" starting up that (civil war). "You're" pushin' all those chips, every last one into the middle of that table. "You" couldn't take the +4. "You'll" barely make it to November next without an insurrection.

You're right about the sour apples thing. I'm certain I'm abstaining from the 2020 election as the Dems are one giant heap of horse shit whose message is basically, "at least we're not Trump".

But I'd be a liar if I said I didnt want Trump to win just to see the uber meltdowns, excuses and batshit conspiracy theories from the Spurs Homers/RGs/Bootses and the media.

He's an embarrassment on the global scale, but back home, beyond the embarrassment, overall, no one is really hurting from him being in power. And the people who are still pissed they lost to him still get that chubby from rubbing their foes faces in shit when he does embarrassing stuff the way they wanted that chubby that November night in 2016.

Trump Claims He Has Presidential Power ‘That Nobody Has Ever Seen Before’

President Donald Trump has many verbal ticks that often act as tells about what he is really thinking or doing.

Trump refers to a true fact that “no one ever knew” or that “people have no idea about,”

it almost certainly means that the president himself just learned about this fact, even though it’s widely known.

with regard to “Article II,” Trump is referring to the second article of the Constitution that lays out presidential power.

In fact, this is discussed all the time in politics, and

it has come up frequently throughout Mueller’s investigation and

in the aftermath of former FBI Director James Comey’s firing.

Trump’s claim that “nobody ever mentions” it and that

it gives him authorities and rights to act that “nobody has ever seen before”

suggests that he has only recently become aware of Article II, its provision, and the debates over its scope.

Following the oligarchy's tax cut scam

WH projects $1 trillion deficit for 2019

The White House projects that the federal deficit will surpass $1 trillion this year,

the only time in the nation's history the deficit has exceeded that level, :lol

excluding the four-year period following the Great Recession.

"The 2019 deficit has been revised to a projected $1.0 trillion," the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) wrote in its midyear review (https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/20msr.pdf?_cldee=bmVsaXNAdGhlaGlsbC5jb20%3d&recipientid=contact-be1a39f03079e71193fd0050568d4238-3dd5ebb0e7ec4d06949cbe400b375d51&esid=12a73077-28a7-e911-9415-0050568d4238).

As a candidate,

President Trump (https://thehill.com/people/donald-trump) promised to wipe out not only the deficit but the entire federal debt, which has surpassed $22 trillion. :lol Promise Kept! :lol

Republicans cast aside projections that their 2017 tax reform law would add $1.9 trillion to the deficit over a decade. :lol of course!

GOP strategist delivers devastating analysis of Trump’s ‘Make America White Again’ agenda on CNN

Setmayer argued that appealing solely to angry white voters was the only hope he had of winning in 2020.

“It’s ‘Make America White Again,’ according to the president of the United States, because

everyone in the country is not welcome,” she said.

“If you have a difference of opinion, you’re not welcome.”

“Who is Donald Trump to determine what makes America great?” she asked.

“A guy who dodged the draft,

who goes after Gold Star families?

Who bragged after about his sexual conquests

instead of going to Vietnam to serve his country,

who goes after war heroes like John McCain?…

I believe Donald Trump hates this country!

He hates what makes America great!

He hates the rule of law!

He hates diversity,

the freedom of dissent!”

Presidential historian: Trump joins Andrew Johnson 'as the most racist president in American history' (https://theweek.com/speedreads/852905/presidential-historian-trump-joins-andrew-johnson-most-racist-president-american-history)

It took more than a century, but

Andrew Johnson has met his match when it comes to racist presidents, presidential historian Jon Meacham said Monday.

"What the president's done here is yet again —

I think he did it after Charlottesville and

I think he did it, frankly, when he was pushing the birther lie about President Obama —

he has joined Andrew Johnson as the most racist president in American history."

Johnson "said African Americans were incapable of self-government and relapsed into barbarism if they weren't closely supervised."

"said this was the single most racist statement by a president in a public paper."

politicians have set it up so

poor black Americans and poor white Americans are "pointing at each other instead of pointing up,"

"That's the story of the racial politics of the country in the modern era.

By using culture instead of economics, which the Republican Party in the modern era has done very well."

Democratic Congresswomen Urge Trump to Go Back to Russia

WASHINGTON —Four Democratic congresswomen issued a brief statement on Monday urging President Donald Trump (https://www.newyorker.com/tag/donald-trump) to go back to Russia and improve the dire conditions of that country.

In the tersely worded statement, the four lawmakers—Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, of New York; Ilhan Omar, of Minnesota; Ayanna Pressley, of Massachusetts; and Rashida Tlaib, of Michigan—indicated that

Russia was “broken and crime-infested” and required Trump’s immediate attention.

The statement went on to suggest that,

once Trump had fixed the problems plaguing Russia, he could return to the United States and “show us how.”

In a tweet, Trump mocked the congresswomen, contrasting them with

the “real revolutionaries” honored over the weekend on Bastille Day.

“In 1789, these brave people stormed Louis XVI’s airports,” he wrote.

The flip side of the coin is being naive about how "awful" things really aren't under him. Not here to play "well, this happened when..." and go down that rabbit hole. The fact is, the last three administrations all had some really rotten and massive scandals and made some rotten decisions that don't get as much scrutiny as this idiot gets. The reason? They didn't pick fights with the media. Are you really that worse off now than 2-3 years ago? 8 years ago?

Being naive is acting like we live in a 3 world hell hole worthy of all the protesting we see. We're a sycophancy with the highest quality of life ever recorded, filled with people who say one thing and do another.

I don't expect you to agree, but I feel most protesters/ SJWs protest because it's a fad/en vogue and not under altruistic premises. The moral high ground they desire so badly is not because of doing what's right, but so they can feel validated in their political affiliation. I look at declining charitable donations and community service volunteers as some evidence of this, tho nowhere near all. Social media is where the faux morality movement originated and has it's deepest roots.

Politics in our country has become petty. People are mad their side lost because they don't get to gloat. The ones upset they couldn't gloat are the ones taking their loss the hardest and you see that on this board in spades. It's funny seeing somewhat intelligent people ground into petty tears and seeing their true intentions shine through their hypocrisies.

I'm not naive. Nothing is "worse" under him, there's just more scrutiny on him because he is P.E No. 1 in the media because he stupidly picked a fight with them. The corruption, lies, scandals- basically everything the virtue signalers that are upset because he "won"- has always been happening, just a larger lens is on this dude.

What you meant is nothing is worse for you. Hey, same here! It's great to be straight, white, and wealthy. But take a few minutes to explore outside your bubble.

We're losing decades of environmental progress. LGBT protections have been reversed. Poor women have fewer resources for birth control and STD treatment/prevention. People who have been here their whole lives and were given a path to citizenship by the previous administration are now in danger of being deported. Iran was being lifted out of 3rd world status by a mutually beneficial agreement that was reversed out of partisan spite. The administration is actively working to further reduce the voting power of poor, urban minorities. We're letting fewer refugees in than ever before because of fear that the POTUS encourages and cultivates. The President's son in law is managing fucking Middle East diplomacy. Journalists are getting death threats at best, getting murdered by the President's allies at worst.

Perhaps worst of all, we're all getting dumber, because truth and facts have no value anymore. We've lowered the bar, and that does affect you and me. 5 years ago, if I told you the President of the United States would spend 5 hours a day live tweeting cable news, the other 5 hours playing golf, and never read a single intelligence report, would you find this acceptable? If that's okay, who the fuck knows what kind of retard we'll be putting in that office in the next 20 years?

The naivety would be thinking that people aren't mad that Trump won. The correlation is looking at the rise of "social justice". Nowhere to be found in the previous administrations (not going down the rabbit hole- Obama and Bush both had MASSIVE scandals that didn't get half the attention that even petty Trump shit gets).

Of course people are mad that Trump won. He's a purposefully divisive, vulgar buffoon and a historical embarrassment who brings out the worst in all of us. He has set so many dangerous, fascist precedents I've lost count of them.

No one expects a scandal-free presidency. We should at least expect a competent leader who gives some indication that he understands that he serves the American people (ALL of them) and not himself.

Of course people are mad that Trump won. He's a purposefully divisive, vulgar buffoon and a historical embarrassment who brings out the worst in all of us. He has set so many dangerous, fascist precedents I've lost count of them.

No one expects a scandal-free presidency. We should at least expect a competent leader who gives some indication that he understands that he serves the American people (ALL of them) and not himself.

I put in a fair amount of time at the local shelters every month, it's not a lot by veteran volunteer standards, but it's what I can give and I converse with everyone of all walks of life. It's fair to say I step out of my bubble more than most.

Comparably, I rant and rave about the plight caused by this rotten state government because I see it, I live in it and I hear it from too many on a personal level, did on the employer level and all the way to the most needy of people. I empathize with your mood. Regardless if you believe me or not (this being ST, I expect the tomes et. al), I understand where you're coming from.

I would love to continue on, but @ the gig right now. Want to discuss how we were already getting dumber before this idiot was elected and how he's a representation of the typical Murican- disingenuous, biased and dumb.

Appreciate the counterpoint and I might produce an equal quality rebuttal if I manage time later. :bobo

Trump believes white nationalism is a winning strategy — because Fox News tells him so

Fox News has gone so deep into white nationalism that Donald Trump now believes that's how he'll win in 2020

Soon, however, it became clear that this was strategic.

Trump thinks it's a winning move to echo the claims of David Duke and other white nationalists who

believe the United States is for white people. (https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2019/07/trumps-white-nationalist-attack-four-congresswomen/594019/)

He justified his racism (https://www.vox.com/2019/7/15/20694986/trump-racist-tweet-ilhan-omar-al-qaeda) by saying that "many people agree with me,"

and by continuing to rave on Twitter about how

the real purveyors (https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1150732346099978240) of "racist hatred" are those who look askance at his embracing the rhetoric of Stormfront and the KKK.

Trump "believes that most Americans are as racist as he is and that he will be rewarded for this indecency with a second term."

"Trump's popularity has taken its sharpest dips whenever he goes full racist," and

that even that seemingly rock-solid level of support that sits right around 42% in opinion polls

has dipped into the 30s when Trump openly aligns himself (https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/trump-approval-ratings/) with white nationalist views.

Trump has spent his entire term in office with lower overall approval ratings than any president in more than 60 years (https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/7/23/17602278/donald-trump-approval-rating).

Since Trump was elected, the Fox News programming that promotes white nationalist ideas has slowly grown both in airtime and in severity.

"Replacement theory" — the white nationalist idea that has spurred multiple terrorist attacks,

holding that white people will somehow be removed and "replaced" by people of color

Now that's become a regular feature of slick Fox News segments (https://www.salon.com/2019/04/29/fox-news-and-the-synagogue-shooter-right-wing-network-airs-similar-views-every-day/), which suggest that

immigrants of color are (https://www.mediamatters.org/video/2019/03/28/laura-ingraham-undocumented-immigrants-invasion-country-they-want-tell-you-you-cant-say-anymore-they/223276) "invading the country" and can never be "fully American,"

The network also hypes the idea that

nonwhite immigrants are dirty and diseased (https://www.mediamatters.org/blog/2019/04/04/How-Fox-has-been-using-racist-nativist-and-anti-immigrant-rhetoric-to-talk-about-border-is/223334), as well as inherently criminal.

the same kind of rhetoric that was used to demonize the Irish and Italian immigrants of the past,

who were seen as threats to American culture due to scary foreign practices like putting garlic in food and praying with the Rosary.

Fox News ratings are high, and that is incredibly meaningful to Trump, who has a long-standing obsession with TV ratings

it's clear that he believes — or at least pretends to believe — that ratings are tied tightly to alliance with his racist agenda.

The pattern is clear:

Trump believes racism is more popular than anti-racism,

because,

he believes, racism gets TV viewers and anti-racism doesn't.

And getting TV viewers is the only measurement he takes seriously.

you would burn it down in a race war just to “beat the libs”

your hero is the problem
but your brainwashing holds you hostage

this will pass

the traitor criminal will be prosecuted and imprisoned

no other way this can end

only thing is how much destruction will this cult leave behind

but we will be stronger for it and you can disappear in your shame when the brainwashing wears off

Speak for yourself.

The notion that if you’re not with Team Trump, you’re automatically the enemy, and/or actively sabotaging them, is ridiculous on its face, truly fascist, disconnected from reality and ultimately a bad proposition for Team Trump in a democracy, since the faction votes alone are not enough.

While it might sound romantic to some minority plebe that there’s a dear leader, it’s largely the same two faced plebe that denounced the previous president for being some sort dictator and their followers for making a cult of personality out of him. In other words, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Telling VN anti-war dissenters "Love It or Leave It" from "My Country Right or Wrong" assholes was used by Repugs 50 years ago, accompanied with the manual workers, LE/FDs putting American flags on all their clothes, uniforms, to prove their imperial patriotism.

They were all LOSERs supporting clusterfucking shitfesting VN war that America lost.

Trump Humiliated As Bipartisan Group Of Lawmakers Votes To Condemn His Bigotry

While the vote was largely along party lines, it wasn’t completely partisan.

A handful of Republicans and the House’s only independent, Rep. Justin Amash, joined with Democrats to condemn Trump’s bigotry –

a fact that will likely get under the president’s very thin skin.

The condemnation passed by a 240-187 majority.

While it was a bipartisan rebuke of the president’s racism, that didn’t stop Republicans from trying to prevent the measure from advancing.

Trump’s Investment Boom — And Other Economic Myths

After the president signed his big tax cut, Lawrence Kudlow :lol :lol :lol said,

“We’re on the front end of an investment boom.”

The investment boom hasn’t happened (https://www.nationalmemo.com/trump-lied-about-economy-64-times-in-a-single-tweet/).

“A slim five percent rise in 2019 capital spending is in store, down from last year’s six percent gain,”

“That is a small annual gain compared with past decades, when double-digit increases in capital spending were relatively common.”

the level that Trump disparaged when Obama was president.

60 economists found that they expect real GDP growth to total less than 2 percent in the second, third and fourth quarters of 2019.

In 2016, the term Stephen Moore used for that rate of growth was “sluggish.”

“Nearly everyone who looked at this, other than the Trump administration itself, felt that this would have very little effect on the economy.”

If anyone has shown presidents don’t matter for the economy, it’s Trump,”

“The recent boost in growth does have something to do with deregulation.”

“The uncertainties around tariffs and trade have contributed to caution on the part of businesses.”

Trump has made less difference, for good or ill, than most people expected.

As economist Larry Kudlow puts it: ‘The Fed can print money, but it can’t create jobs.'”

Now, they see easy money as the only hope.

Trump and Jeffrey Epstein seem to discuss 'hot' women in 1992 video discovered by NBC (https://theweek.com/speedreads/853290/trump-jeffrey-epstein-seem-discuss-hot-women-1992-video-discovered-by-nbc)

NBC has resurfaced an old tape of President Trump laughing and seeming to discuss women with Jeffrey Epstein,

Footage that aired on MSNBC on Wednesday (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/tape-shows-donald-trump-jeffrey-epstein-discussing-women-1992-party-n1030686), which Morning Joe's Mika Brzezinski said was found in the NBC archives after being shot in November 1992 for a talk show appearance,

shows Trump partying at Mar-a-Lago with Epstein.

Trump seems to point a woman out to Epstein and say, "she's hot," although it's difficult to hear due to the loud music.

Epstein also laughs after Trump says something to him that isn't audible.

The footage also shows Trump grabbing a woman at the party.
