"worst of the worst"

The share of criminal convicts arrested by ICE has halved over the last year, from a weekly average of 59 percent this time last year to just 27 percent for the week ending October 15, 2025. Even if we look at ICE’s preferred measure, the share of ICE arrests without criminal convictions or even pending charges rose from just 14 percent to 47 percent, comparing the same weeks in each year.

The number of arrests of individuals without criminal convictions has risen by 585 percent year over year, and the number of arrests of people without criminal convictions or criminal charges has increased by 1,200 percent. This is the true measure of the opportunity cost, as ICE has a significantly larger budget. It could be sending more agents to track down the nearly 500,000 immigrants who ICE claims (https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/25177131-2024-09-25-24-01143-ices-signed-response-to-representative-tony-gonzales-1/) have criminal convictions and are removable, but it apparently prefers to grab easy targets to meet arbitrary arrest quotas.

As noted in our original report (https://www.cato.org/blog/5-ice-detainees-have-violent-convictions-73-no-convictions), the broad outlines of these facts were already confirmed by publicly available DHS data on the population currently detained by ICE (69% no convictions) and removed by ICE (70% no convictions).

Despite this manifest change in priorities, the administration continues to claim (https://x.com/DHSgov/status/1991611813063270492) that it is arresting “the worst of the worst.” But in January, the president ordered (https://www.cato.org/blog/what-trump-has-done-imminently-plans-do-immigration) ICE to stop prioritizing people based on their level of public safety threat. In May, the White House further ordered (https://www.wsj.com/us-news/protests-los-angeles-immigrants-trump-f5089877) ICE to stop focusing on criminals or even specific people and just go out on the streets and arrest people, which has led to its demographic and racial profiling program.

Given these policies, it is no surprise that ICE has become much less focused on people with criminal histories, especially people with serious, violent criminal histories. Arrests of criminal convicts have increased, but only because DHS has diverted (https://www.cato.org/blog/ice-has-diverted-over-25000-officers-their-jobs) so much of the rest of the federal and state criminal law enforcement from active criminal investigations to arrest immigrants indiscriminately. As the New York Times reported in multiple (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/11/16/us/politics/dhs-agents-reassigned.html)pieces (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/11/25/us/politics/drug-arrests-gun-seizures-homeland-security-immigration.html) last month, federal criminal law enforcement is ignoring its basic tasks to conduct mass deportations, including by letting sex traffickers go free.

If you caught snippets of MSM and conversely- FOX - propaganda coverage of this latest shitshow - watching some of this is sobering as fuck - as to where this shithole country is now...

aside from the laughs...it is sobering that MSM & FOX had to scramble to concoct an "alternate reality" and "all is normal" narrative just to pretzel themselves as "honest brokers" of news/journalism/reporting...

while these oklahoma hicks basically deconstructed it and exposed it all in a few minutes of straight observation of the shitshow...

and it is so sobering and depressing to see how fucked we are and how long it will take to undo this destruction of our world standing and basically - cuts our legs as americans of

EVER EVER EVER - having the high moral ground against anyone on the planet that makes fun of us for being this stupid and allowing this kunt to sit in the oval - absolutely depressing;

The federal offices are back open and hundreds of thousands of federal workers have returned to work after the longest shutdown in history. But nothing is back to normal - federal workers say morale and trust in leadership are at an all-time low, tensions are high between furloughed staff and those who worked through the shutdown, schedules are slipping and projects are being pushed back, and more people are accelerating their retirement plans or leaving federal service altogether.

The recent shutdown, however, has just exacerbated the existing problems and added to what federal workers described as an already extremely trying year for the federal workforce.

"As if morale wasn't already non-existent, it sure is now. I expect a surge of people to (quiet) quit and I expect the remaining players to be bombarded with work with no support or guidance from leadership," one employee told Federal News Network. "The mission is dead. Operations are barely running. Morale is toast," another federal worker said.

does this play well on Main Street?

Representative Adelita Grijalva just said she was pepper sprayed during the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Tucson at a local restaurant on the westside.

In a post on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/reel/1191020339030146), Grijalva stated she was present at the raid that happened at Taco Giro located near St. Mary's Road and Grande Avenue.

Grijalva confirmed she was pepper sprayed in the face by an agent.

"I literally was not being aggressive, I was asking for clarification, which is my right as a member of Congress," Grijalva said.

Grijalva stated members of the press were pepper sprayed, and she had remnants of the spray on her face.

Rank bigotry on the basis of national origin

Shameful treatment of people who got in line and followed all the rules

Becoming a U.S. citizen takes years and involves immigrants acquiring a green card, extensive interviews, background checks, classes and a citizenship test. The naturalization ceremony is the final step to the process, where the oath of allegiance and a citizenship certificate are granted.

Immigrants approved to be naturalized went to Faneuil Hall Thursday — known as the country’s cradle of liberty — for that long-awaited moment to pledge allegiance to the United States. But instead, as they lined up, some were told by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officials that they couldn’t proceed due to their countries of origin.

Thailand launches airstrikes on Cambodia as Trump’s peace agreement hangs in balance

Thailand launched airstrikes against Cambodia on Monday as a new wave of fighting erupted between the southeast Asian neighbors, leaving a peace plan presided over by US President Donald Trump just two months ago in danger of collapse.

Both sides accused the other of launching strikes along their disputed border in the early morning hours, after weeks of simmering tension and the earlier suspension of progress on the ceasefire agreement by Thailand.

The two nations have repeatedly fought brief border skirmishes in recent decades, with a deadly five-day conflict in July leaving dozens dead and displacing about 200,000 on both sides of the frontier.

You can give up certain products. You could give up pencils. Because under the China policy, every child can get 37 pencils. They only need 1 or 2. They don't need that many. You always need steel. You don't need 37 dolls for your daughter. 2 or 3 is nice. So we're doing things right.

abuse, racial profiling and administrative detention of US citizens, followed by concocted federal prosecution

The 200-page report from the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, led by Ranking Member Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), documents what investigators describe as a systematic pattern of constitutional violations—including excessive force, denial of medical care, fabricated assault charges, and deliberate targeting of citizens based on race and ethnicity.

The 22 detailed cases likely represent “only a subset of the likely hundreds of American citizens who have been unlawfully detained” under the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement operations, according to the report.
https://migrantinsider.com/p/senate-report-exposes-systematic

Winehole23
12-10-2025, 08:46 AM
The investigation presents evidence that ICE and CBP have functioned as what the report characterizes as a “paramilitary force” with vast resources that “lawlessly detains citizens based on its own whims.”

Seven of the 22 citizens interviewed were held for more than 24 hours—far exceeding the brief detention period Justice Brett Kavanaugh envisioned in his September 2025 concurrence blessing racial profiling by immigration officials. Javier Ramirez, a severely diabetic man, was held for over 96 hours despite repeatedly informing agents of his medical condition and having his passport and ID in his pocket. George Retes, a disabled Army veteran, spent three days in custody and missed his daughter’s third birthday.

12-10-2025, 08:47 AM
Violent Assault: Marimar Martinez was shot five times by CBP officers. Julian Cardenas had his head slammed into the ground, causing a concussion that went undiagnosed for three days because agents pressured hospital staff to expedite his processing. Rafie Ollah Shouhed, a 79-year-old man with a heart stent and broken ribs, was thrown to the asphalt by three agents who pinned him down as he begged, “I’m an old man with a stent in my heart.” One agent responded: “You don’t fuck with ICE.”

Targeting of Children: A six-year-old autistic U.S. citizen was separated from her parents by ICE agents in what investigators describe as “an apparent attempt to lure her parents to leave private property.” The child became violently ill, required emergency room treatment, and has continued to suffer nightmares. Anabel Romero’s 14-year-old daughter was zip-tied and pulled from a truck, sustaining bruises on her ribs, while her six- and eight-year-old children were held at gunpoint.

Denial of Medical Care: Andrea Velez was denied water for nearly 24 hours during detention. Cary Lopez Alvarado, nine months pregnant, was forced to squat between squad cars in a garage to urinate while immigration officials watched.

Fabricated Assault Charges: Immigration agents repeatedly filed assault charges against citizens that collapsed immediately when confronted with video evidence—including against the nine-months-pregnant Alvarado, the 79-year-old Shouhed with multiple broken ribs, and 4’11” Velez, who was charged with punching an agent over six feet tall.

Grand juries nope-ing out on Trump's war of retribution

This is the 2nd grand jury that has no-billed Leticia James after the first case got thrown out over an illegally appointed AUSA

A grand jury declined for a second time in a week to re-indict New York Attorney General Letitia James (https://apnews.com/hub/letitia-james) on Thursday in another major blow to the Justice Department’s efforts to prosecute the president’s political opponents.

The repeated failures amounted to a stunning rebuke of prosecutors’ bid to resurrect a criminal case President Donald Trump pressured them to bring, and hinted at a growing public leeriness of the administration’s retribution campaign.

Only 31% of U.S. adults now approve of how Trump is handling the economy, the poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research (https://apnorc.org/) finds. That is down from 40% in March and marks the lowest economic approval (https://apnews.com/projects/polling-tracker/) he’s registered in an AP-NORC poll in his first or second term.

Perhaps most worryingly for Trump, who’s become increasingly synonymous with his party, he’s slipped on issues that were major strengths. Just a few months ago, 53% of Americans approved of Trump’s handling of crime (https://apnews.com/article/trump-crime-poll-approval-dc-national-guard-5c5d503600cd443e639ab37dc6ddc0dc), but that’s fallen to 43% in the new poll. There’s been a similar decline on immigration, from 49% approval in March to 38% now.

Republicans are more unhappy with Trump’s performance on the economy than they were in the first few months of his term. About 7 in 10 Republicans, 69%, approve of how Trump is handling the economy in the December poll, a decline from 78% in March.

Visits from Western Europe collapsed 17% year-over-year this spring. Seventeen. Percent. That’s not a blip, that’s a rupture.

Overall international travel to the U.S.? Also down over 11%.

Think about it: the U.S. lost tourists during a period when every other major destination is breaking visitation records.

Meanwhile, Paris just had to physically turn tourists away.

America’s turning them away with vibes.

‘Woke’ CBS News standards chief is Bari Weiss’ ‘first scalp,’ as new boss remakes network (https://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/news/woke-cbs-news-standards-chief-is-bari-weiss-first-scalp-as-new-boss-remakes-network/ar-AA1OBPQD?ocid=msedgntp&pc=LCTS&cvid=68f199ec72154787815ddb82ff413224&ei=23)going great so far

At the end of her heavily promoted Saturday night town hall (https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/cbs-news-bari-weiss-erika-kirk-town-hall-b2878224.html) with Erika Kirk, CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss promised viewers that there would be “many more conversations like this in the weeks and months ahead” on the network.

“So stay tuned. More town halls, more debates, more talking about the things that matter,” the anti-woke former New York Times op-ed writer declared.

However, based on the soft ratings from the Kirk event, one wonders just how much appetite the network’s leadership will continue to have for Weiss-led television specials.

According to early numbers from Nielsen’s Big Data + Panel measurement, the one-hour CBS News town hall – which aired on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET – drew 1.548 million total viewers and 237,000 in the coveted advertising demographic of viewers aged 25 to 54.

If these ratings hold (Nielsen will release final numbers Tuesday afternoon), the Erika Kirk sitdown declined 27 percent in total viewership compared to the network’s standard programming in that time slot year to date – and was down 47 percent in the key demo.

Weiss fails to realize she wasn't hired because she was good on-air talent or even talented at anything save mindless heterodoxy.Weiss's social skills, which are formidable -- sucking up to celebrities, rich and influential people and so forth -- maybe do not translate to TV ratings.

The editor in chief not having the skills to do the show is normal, maybe the network execs will manage to get her head screwed back on straight on that point.

Winehole23
12-16-2025, 06:05 PM
Weiss was a not very distinguished journalist, the idea that she is well-qualified to be a TV host seems ill-founded.

But maybe all that matters is having the power to hire yourself as a host.

ChumpDumper
12-16-2025, 06:15 PM
Yeah, I doubt ratings and revenue really matter too much for these particular shows.

I'm starting to think they should drop the pretense of trying to hang onto CBS News prestige and lean into their real audience's insanity -- e.g, the person who they really wanted to see interviewing Kirk is Candace Owens.

And she's available.

Good evening, America.

Eleven months ago, I inherited a mess, and I’m fixing it. When I took office, inflation was the worst in 48 years, and some would say in the history of our country, which caused prices to be higher than ever before, making life unaffordable for millions and millions of Americans. This happened during a Democrat administration, and it’s when we first began hearing the word affordability.

Our border was open. And because of this, our country was being invaded by an army of 25 million people, many who came from prisons and jails, mental institutions and insane asylums. They were drug dealers, gang members and even 11,888 murderers, more than 50 percent of whom killed more than one person. This is what the Biden administration allowed to happen to our country, and it can never be allowed to happen again.
We had men playing in women’s sports, transgender for everybody, crime at record levels with law enforcement and words such as that just absolutely forbidden. We had the worst trade deals ever made in our country, was laughed at from all over the world. But they’re not laughing anymore. Over the past 11 months, we have brought more positive change to Washington than any administration in American history.

There’s never been anything like it, and I think most would agree. I was elected in a landslide, winning the popular vote and all seven swing states and everything else with a mandate to take on a sick and corrupt system that really just took the wealth from people and crushed the dreams of the American people.

For the last four years, the United States was ruled by politicians who fought only for insiders, illegal aliens, career criminals, corporate lobbyists, prisoners, terrorists and, above all, foreign nations, which took advantage of us at levels never seen before. They flooded your cities and towns with illegal aliens. They decimated your hard-earned savings. They indoctrinated your children with hate for America, released, really, I mean, they just released a level of violent felons that we had never seen to prey on innocent. They caused war. They caused mayhem. They caused a horrible situation all over the globe.

But now you have a president who fights for the law-abiding, hardworking people of our country. The ones who make this nation run, who make this nation work. And after just one year, we have achieved more than anyone could have imagined.

Starting on Day 1, I took immediate action to stop the invasion of our southern border. For the past seven months, zero illegal aliens have been allowed into our country, a feat which everyone said was absolutely impossible. Do you remember when Joe Biden said that he needed Congress to pass legislation to help close the border? He was always blaming Congress and everyone else. As it turned out, we didn’t need legislation. We just needed a new president.

We inherited the worst border anywhere in the world, and we quickly turned it into the strongest border in the history of our country. In other words, in a few short months, we went from worst to best. We’re deporting criminals, restoring safety to our most dangerous cities. Just take a look at Washington, D.C. It’s at levels of safety that we’ve never seen before. And they decimated the bloodthirsty foreign drug cartels. We did that all by ourselves, with our people, and we’re so proud of it because they were poisoning and destroying our population. Drugs brought in by ocean and by sea are now down 94 percent. We have broken the grip of sinister woke radicals in our schools, and control over those schools is back now in the hands of our great and loving states, where education belongs.

After rebuilding the United States military in my first term, and with the addition, we are adding right now, we have the most powerful military anywhere in the world, and it’s not even close. I’ve restored American strength, settled eight wars in 10 months, destroyed the Iran nuclear threat, and ended the war in Gaza, bringing for the first time in 3,000 years peace to the Middle East, and secured the release of the hostages, both living and dead.

Here at home, we are bringing our economy back from the brink of ruin. The last administration and their allies in Congress looted our Treasury for trillions of dollars, driving up prices and everything at levels never seen before. I am bringing those high prices down and bringing them down very fast.

Let’s look at the facts. Under the Biden administration, car prices rose 22 percent, and in many states, 30 percent or more. Gasoline rose 30 to 50 percent. Hotel rates rose 37 percent. Airfares rose 31 percent. Now, under our leadership, they are all coming down and coming down fast. Democrat politicians also sent the cost of groceries soaring, but we are solving that, too. The price of a Thanksgiving turkey was down 33 percent compared to the Biden last year. The price of eggs is down 82 percent since March, and everything else is falling rapidly. And it’s not done yet, but boy, are we making progress. Nobody can believe what’s going on.

Here are just some of the efforts that we have underway you will see in your wallets and bank accounts in the new year. After years of record-setting falling incomes, our policies are boosting take-home pay at a historic pace. Under Biden, real wages plummeted by $3,000. Under Trump, the typical factory worker has seen a wage increase of $1,300. For construction workers, it’s $1,800. For miners, we’re bringing back clean, beautiful coal, it’s $3,300. And for the first time in years, wages are rising much faster than inflation. Remember that rate, the wages, just look at it, wages are going up much faster than inflation. How big is that?
Very importantly, there are more people working today than at any time in American history. And 100 percent of all jobs created since I took office have been in the private sector. Think of that, 100 percent of all jobs have been in the private sector rather than government, which is the only way to make a country powerful and great.

This historic trend will continue. Already, I’ve secured a record-breaking $18 trillion of investment into the United States, which means jobs, wage increases, growth, factory openings and far greater national security. Much of this success has been accomplished by tariffs, my favorite word, tariffs, which for many decades have been used successfully by other countries against us, but not anymore. Companies know that if they build in America, there are no tariffs, and that’s why they’re coming home to the U.S.A. in record numbers. They’re building factories and plants at levels we haven’t seen. A.I., automobiles, we’re doing what nobody thought was even possible, not even remotely possible. There has never, frankly, been anything like it.

One year ago, our country was dead. We were absolutely dead. Our country was ready to fail. Totally fail. Now we’re the hottest country anywhere in the world. And that’s said by every single leader that I’ve spoken to over the last five months.

Next year, you will also see the results of the largest tax cuts in American history that were really accomplished through our great Big, Beautiful Bill, perhaps the most sweeping legislation ever passed in Congress. We wrapped 12 different bills up into one beautiful bill. That includes no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and no tax on Social Security for our great seniors. Under these cuts, many families will be saving between $11,000 and $20,000 a year, and next spring is projected to be the largest tax refund season of all time.

Because of tariffs, along with the just passed One Big, Beautiful Bill, tonight I am also proud to announce that more than 1,000, 450,000, think of this, 1,450,000 military service members will receive a special, we call warrior dividend before Christmas, a warrior dividend. In honor of our nation’s founding in 1776, we are sending every soldier $1,776. Think of that. And the checks are already on the way. Nobody understood that one until about 30 minutes ago. We made a lot more money than anybody thought because of tariffs, and the bill helped us along. Nobody deserves it more than our military. And I say congratulations to everybody. And by the way, we now have record enlistment in our military, and last year we had among the worst recruitment numbers in our military’s history. What a difference a year makes.

In addition, I’m doing what no politician of either party has ever done. Standing up to the special interests to dramatically reduce the price of prescription drugs. I negotiated directly with the drug companies and foreign nations, which were taken advantage of our country for many decades to slash prices on drugs and pharmaceuticals by as much as 400, 500 and even 600 percent. In other words, your drug costs will be plummeting downward, and I use the threat of tariffs to get foreign countries who would never have done it, to pay the cost of this giant dollar reduction. They stop ripping us off. And it began as of four days ago.

There has never been anything like this in the history of our country. Drugs have only gone up, but now they’ll be going down by numbers never conceived possible. It’s called most favored nation, and no president has ever had the courage or ability to get this done, until now. The first of these unprecedented price reductions will be available starting in January through a new website, Trumprx.gov. And these big price cuts will greatly reduce the cost of health care.

I’m also taking on the gigantic health insurance companies that have gotten rich on billions of dollars of money that should go directly to the people. The money should go to the people. That’s you, so they can buy their own health insurance, which will give far better benefits at much lower costs. It will be far better health insurance. The current unaffordable care act was created to make insurance companies rich. It was bad health care at much too high a cost, and you see that now in the steep increase in premiums being demanded by the Democrats. And they are demanding those increases and it’s their fault. It is not the Republicans’ fault. It’s the Democrats’ fault. It’s the unaffordable care act, and everybody knew it.

Again, I want the money to go directly to the people so you can buy your own health care. You’ll get much better health care at a much lower price. The only losers will be insurance companies that have gotten rich, and the Democrat Party, which is totally controlled by those same insurance companies. They will not be happy, but that’s OK with me because you, the people, are finally going to be getting great health care at a lower cost. Another major focus is the cost of energy. For years, the radical left Democrats exploited the green energy scam as an excuse to funnel many billions of dollars into their own massive slush funds, as their energy restrictions drastically drove up prices and they drove them up at record levels.

Electricity costs surged 30 to 100 percent under Biden, and the typical family lost $5,000 to $10,000 in higher energy costs. Think of that, $5,000 to $10,000 you lost. On Day 1, I declared a national energy emergency. Gasoline is now under $2.50 a gallon, and in much of the country, in some states, it, by the way, just hit $1.99 a gallon. And within the next 12 months, we will have opened 1,600 new electrical generating plants, a record. And it’s a record that won’t be beaten by practically, I would say, by anybody, or certainly not very soon. Prices on electricity and everything else will fall dramatically.

The Democrat inflation disaster, again, the worst in the history of our country, also robbed millions of Americans of homeownership, and indeed the American dream. The yearly cost of a typical new mortgage increased by $15,000 under Democrat rule. In 11 months, we’ve already gotten that annual cost down by $3,000, and it’s coming down a lot lower. Wait till you see, the numbers are going to be shocking, and I’ll soon announce our next chairman of the Federal Reserve, someone who believes in lower interest rates by a lot, and mortgage payments will be coming down even further. Early, the new year, and you will see this in the new year, I will announce some of the most aggressive housing reform plans in American history.

A major factor in driving up housing costs was the colossal border invasion. We have never been invaded. This is the worst thing that, frankly, in my opinion, the worst thing that the Biden administration did to our country is the invasion at the border. The last administration and their allies in Congress brought in millions and millions of migrants and gave them taxpayer-funded housing. While your rent and housing costs skyrocketed. Over 60 percent of growth in the rental market came from foreign migrants. At the same time, illegal aliens stole American jobs and flooded emergency rooms, getting free health care and education paid for by you, the American taxpayer.

They also increased the cost of law enforcement by numbers so high that they are not even to be mentioned.

For the first time in 50 years. We are now seeing reverse migration as migrants go back home, leaving more housing and more jobs for Americans. In the year before my election, all net creation of jobs was going to foreign migrants. Since I took office, 100 percent of all net job creation has gone to American-born citizens. One hundred percent.

In the end, government either serves the productive, patriotic, hardworking American citizen, or it serves those who break the laws, cheat the system, and seek power and profit at the expense of our nation.

Look at Minnesota, where Somalians have taken over the economics of the state and have stolen billions and billions of dollars from Minnesota, and indeed from the United States of America. We’re going to put an end to it.

For so long as before my election, the vast majority of good and decent Americans were forced to watch as corrupt politician plundered the halls of power, exploited our taxpayers and pillaged every system that makes civilized society function. But not anymore, and you see that every day, not anymore.

We’re putting America first, and we are making America great again. Very simple, we are making America great again.

Tonight, after 11 months, our border is secure, inflation has stopped, wages are up, prices are down, our nation is strong, America is respected, and our country is back, stronger than ever before. We’re poised for an economic boom the likes of which the world has never seen. Soon we will host the World Cup and the Olympics, both of which I got. But most importantly, we will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

There could be no more fitting tribute to this epic milestone than to complete the comeback of America that began just one year ago. When the world looks at us next year, let them see a nation that is loyal to its citizens, faithful to its workers, confident to its identity, certain to its destiny and the envy of the entire globe. We are respected again, like we have never been respected before. To each and every one of you, have a merry Christmas and a happy new year. God bless you all.

President Donald Trump’s $1,776 checks for more than a million troops, announced Wednesday, come from Congressionally-allocated reconciliation funds intended to subsidize housing allowances for service members, a senior administration official confirmed.

During a prime-time TV address, Trump said he was “proud to announce” that “1,450,000 military service members will receive a special, we call ‘warrior dividend,’ before Christmas.” He added that to honor the nation’s founding, “we are sending every soldier $1,776. Think of that. And the checks are already on the way.”

The senior administration official told Defense One in an emailed statement late Wednesday evening that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth directed the Pentagon to “disburse $2.6 billion as a one-time basic allowance for housing supplement” to all eligible service members ranks 0-6 (https://www.studyguides.af.mil/Portals/15/documents/rank_ribbons/Officer%20Rank%20Insignia%20of%20the%20United%20St ates%20Armed%20Forces.pdf)and below. “Congress appropriated $2.9 billion to the Department of War to supplement the Basic Allowance for Housing entitlement within The One Big Beautiful Bill,” the senior official said. “Approximately 1.28 million active component military members and 174,000 Reserve component military members will receive this supplement.”

But maybe all that matters is having the power to hire yourself as a host.

spending is an Article I enumerated power, right?
It's all been done before... Act now and let Congress or the Courts catch up.

Thomas Jefferson did it with naval spending - refusing to spend appropriated money. Congress let it go.
Abraham Lincoln did it to fund the raising of troops. Congress retroactively approved his spending.
Franklin Roosevelt did it to initiate many of his New Deal programs. Congress later ratified much of his socialist agenda.
Richard Nixon did it by impounding appropriated funds. Congress reacted by passing the Impoundment Control Act of 1974 [presumably meaning they didn't feel they could counter his impoundment without legislation].
George W. Bush did it with military spending after 9/11. Congress followed up with authorizing legislation.
Barack Obama did it by deferring or modifying statutory spending requirements related to Obamacare. Not sure how Congress responded - he did it anyway.
Donald Trump, in his first term, did it by redirecting Defense funds for the border wall. Congress declined to appropriate the funds, lawsuits ensued, and congressional objections followed. Biden tore the wall down and sold it for parts, pennies on the dollar. In his second term, Trump bought most of it back and is continuing construction of the wall unimpeded.
Joe Biden did it by pausing and forgiving student loans he had no authority to pause or forgive. Congress and the courts fixed it.

Bottom line, Trump can start spending the money - just like previous presidents - and see how the Congress and Courts respond. I suspect, Congress will find it in their hearts to fund the 1776 checks.

Isabela Herrera donated $2.5m to MAGA Inc. on 12/31/2024.

At the time, her father, a Venezuelan-Italian banker, was being prosecuted for bribing Puerto Rico's governor.

In July, Trump's DOJ authorized a misdemeanor plea deal, overruling career prosecutors who had pushed a harsher sentence

In January, Oak View Group, then controlled by Tim Leiweke, donated $250k to Trump's inaugural.

In July, Leiweke was charged in a bid-rigging case.

He was expected to testify in the DOJ's case against LiveNation.

But this month, before either case went to trial, he was pardoned by Trumphttps://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2025/12/22/us/politics/trump-donors-fundraising-benefits.html?unlocked_article_code=1.-k8.9xQ1.45fnWbx7HTVy&smid=url-share

To shed light on what has been a largely opaque fund-raising apparatus, The New York Times conducted a comprehensive investigation. It relied on previously unreported documents and public campaign finance filings, as well as interviews with dozens of people who are familiar with the solicitations or are involved in the fund-raising. It traced a large portion of the funds raised — more than half a billion dollars’ worth — back to 346 donors who each gave at least $250,000. It also found that more than half of them have benefited, or are involved in an industry that has benefited, from the actions or statements of Mr. Trump, the White House or federal agencies.

In another case, the former health care entrepreneur Elizabeth Fago, after donating $1 million to MAGA Inc., attended a donor dinner with the president (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/27/us/politics/trump-pardon-paul-walczak-tax-crimes.html). Mr. Trump pardoned her son (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/25/us/politics/trump-pardon-walczak-ashley-biden-diary.html), Paul Walczak, less than three weeks later, sparing him from having to pay nearly $4.4 million in restitution and from reporting to prison for an 18-month sentence (https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/owner-florida-health-care-companies-sentenced-employment-tax-crimes) for employment tax crimes.

Last week, Mr. Trump signed an executive order (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/us/politics/trump-marijuana-reclassify-order.html) to downgrade cannabis from the most restrictive category of drugs, easing some limitations and allowing for more research. It was a major victory for a burgeoning industry that has spent heavily since the election (https://www.politico.com/news/2025/12/18/how-the-cannabis-industry-leveraged-a-big-win-from-trump-00699174) on lobbying and donations, including a $1 million donation to MAGA Inc. from American Rights and Reform PAC, a pro-cannabis political committee; and a $750,000 donation to the inaugural committee from Trulieve, a leading marijuana retailer. Kim Rivers, Trulieve’s co-founder and chief executive, urged Mr. Trump to make the move during multiple meetings with him, including a donor dinner at his New Jersey golf club in August, according to a person familiar with the event, which was first reported by the Wall Street Journal (https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/trump-marijuana-federal-drug-classification-01a73b8c).

“We are really thankful for the president,” Ms. Rivers said in an interview on Thursday. “He has been consistently supportive,” she added. She declined to comment when asked if she would have been granted the presidential audiences without donating.

Since retaking office, the president has lavished his post-election donors with praise and access to himself and his inner circle. In some cases, the attention can provide a competitive business advantage. In others, it may only mean bragging rights.

At least 100 donors have attended exclusive dinners and events with Mr. Trump at the White House, accompanied him on overseas trips that include meetings with foreign dignitaries and prospective business partners — or both. About half have popped up at multiple events. Regular visitors to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue include Jensen Huang, chief executive of Nvidia; Lisa Su, chief executive of AMD; Tim Cook, chief executive of Apple; and others.

Trump's vindictive financial coercion keeps getting slapped down by federal district courts, even by judges he appointed

This is a lawsuit by 12 states challenging DHS's attempt to withhold counterterrorism grants to states that do not cooperate with federal immigration enforcement

A federal judge has blocked the Trump administration's attempt to reallocate federal Homeland Security funding away from states that refuse to cooperate with certain federal immigration enforcement.

U.S. District Judge Mary McElroy's ruling on Monday solidified a win for the coalition of 12 attorneys general that sued the administration earlier this year after being alerted that their states would receive drastically reduced federal grants due to their "sanctuary" jurisdictions.

In total, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency reduced more than $233 million from Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington. The money is part of a $1 billion program in which allocations are supposed to be based on assessed risks, with states then largely passing most of the money on to police and fire departments.

The cuts were unveiled shortly after a separate federal judge in a different legal challenge ruled it was unconstitutional for the federal government to require states to cooperate on immigration enforcement actions to get FEMA disaster funding.

In her 48-page ruling, McElroy found that the federal government was weighing states' police forces on federal immigration enforcement in deciding whether to reduce federal funding for the Homeland Security Grant Program and others.

"What else could defendants' decisions to cut funding to specific counterterrorism programming by conspicuous round numbered amounts -- including by slashing off the millions-place digits of awarded sums -- be if not arbitrary and capricious? Neither a law degree nor a degree in mathematics is required to deduce that no plausible, rational formula could produce this result," McElroy wrote.

The Trump-appointed judge then ordered the Department of Homeland Security to restore the previously announced funding allocations to the plaintiff states.
"Defendants' wanton abuse of their role in federal grant administration is particularly troublesome given the fact that they have been entrusted with a most solemn duty: safeguarding our nation and its citizens," McElroy wrote. "While the intricacies of administrative law and the terms and conditions on federal grants may seem abstract to some, the funding at issue here supports vital counterterrorism and law enforcement programs."

McElroy notably cited the recent Brown University attack, in which a gunman killed two students and injured nine others, as an event when the $1 billion federal program would be vital.

"To hold hostage funding for programs like these based solely on what appear to be defendants' political whims is unconscionable and, at least here, unlawful," the Rhode Island-based judge wrote in her ruling, issued little more than a week after the Brown shooting.

Emails seeking comment were sent to the DHS and FEMA.

"This victory ensures that the Trump Administration cannot punish states that refuse to help carry out its cruel immigration agenda, particularly by denying them lifesaving funding that helps prepare for and respond to disasters and emergencies," said Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell in a statement.

Same judge ordered HUD to stick to its funding guidelines after proposing changes that could put tens of thousands of people on the streets

A federal judge on Friday halted the Trump administration’s (https://thenationaldesk.com/top-videos/secretary-scott-turner-defends-hud-report-linking-immigration-housing-costs-housing-urban-development-interview-trump-administration) attempt to overhaul a major federal homelessness program, blocking changes that could have redirected billions of dollars away from permanent housing programs and put tens of thousands of people at risk of losing stable shelter.

U.S. District Judge Mary McElroy granted a preliminary injunction preventing the Department of Housing and Urban Development (https://thenationaldesk.com/news/americas-news-now/trump-administration-department-housing-urban-development-investigating-racial-boston-policies-michelle-wu)(HUD) from altering how more than $3 billion in Continuum of Care grant funding is distributed. The ruling requires HUD to continue operating the program under its existing rules while the legal challenge moves forward.

The lawsuit was brought by a coalition of 20 states, Washington, D.C., along with local governments and nonprofit organizations.
The plantiffs argued that HUD’s proposed changes would significantly reduce funding for permanent housing programs and replace them with temporary, transitional housing models that include work or service requirements. According to the plaintiffs, those changes could jeopardize housing for roughly 170,000 people nationwide.

McElroy said HUD’s actions likely conflicted with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, the federal law governing the program. She noted that Congress designed the Continuum of Care system to prioritize long-term housing stability and renewal funding.

“Ensuring lawful agency action and continuity of housing and stability for vulnerable populations is clearly in the public interest,” McElroy said during the hearing.

“It’s concerning to the court that we sort of keep having these cases where the agency issues these orders or memos or changes of policy, but they haven’t done the work to get that policy through. And so it sort of begs the question, are they really intending to change the policy, or is the chaos the point?”

The department had withdrawn a revised funding notice shortly before an earlier court hearing and told the court it planned to issue a new version later. McElroy suggested that the timing appeared calculated to avoid judicial review, calling it “concerning” and potentially an evasion of the court’s authority.

HUD officials defended their broader goals after the ruling. In a statement, a spokesperson said the agency “remains committed to program reforms intended to assist our nation’s most vulnerable citizens and will continue to do so in accordance with the law.”
McElroy’s ruling maintains the current funding framework until HUD issues any new guidance through a process that complies with federal law. The judge said she expects to issue a written order formalizing the injunction early next week.

The Justice Department’s solicitor general effectively ordered Brooklyn prosecutors to abandon two FIFA bribery convictions amid pushback from their Trump-appointed US attorney—potentially unraveling dozens of other international soccer corruption cases and hundreds of millions of dollars in recovered penalties.
John Sauer, DOJ’s top Supreme Court litigator, recently relayed to Eastern District of New York chief prosecutor Joseph Nocella that he must ask a judge to overturn guilty verdicts (https://news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law-week/doj-seeks-to-drop-fifa-corruption-case-against-ex-fox-executive) of the former chief executive officer of Fox International Channels and an Argentine marketing company that were unanimously upheld (https://news.bloomberglaw.com/litigation/us-gets-another-shot-at-ex-fox-executive-in-fifa-corruption-case) by a federal appellate panel in July, said three people familiar with the situation.
Nocella reached out to Sauer to urge him to reconsider and not drop the case, according to a person briefed on the matter, who asked not to be identified because the communications were private.
Some government lawyers worried that ending the case could result in overturning convictions of dozens of other soccer officials and sports marketing executives, as well as the return of hundreds of millions of dollars in fines and penalties, said the person. There was also concern that the government was walking away from a federal appeals court decision that affirmed the government’s ability to prosecute bribery cases.

Epic self-dealing, rampant corruption of power

Donald Trump just had the most lucrative year of his life. The president is now worth a record $7.3 billion, up from $4.3 billion in 2024, when he was still running for office. The $3 billion gain vaulted him 118 spots on The Forbes 400, where he lands at No. 201 this year.

No president in U.S. history has used his position of power to profit as immensely as Trump. His primary vehicle for enrichment: cryptocurrency, an asset class full of hype and vulnerable to regulators.

Trump family business delays launch of $499 gold smartphone

Trump Mobile, the phone company launched by Donald Trump’s family business, has pushed back plans to deliver a $499 (£371) gold-coloured smartphone by the end of the year.

The Trump Organization licensed its name to launch a mobile service and the device in June, in the latest monetisation of his presidency by a family business empire now run by Trump’s sons.

In the latest setback for the project, Trump Mobile said there was a “strong possibility” the handset would not be delivered this month, the Financial Times reported. The company’s customer service team told the FT that the recent government shutdown had disrupted shipments.

The T1 smartphone, described by the company as “proudly American”, was initially promoted as a US-made rival to devices from Apple and Samsung. Almost all smartphones sold in the US are made overseas, primarily in China and South Korea but also increasingly in India and Vietnam.

IRL Trump is nuking Republicans chances in the midterms, leading the USA into civil war and stoking WWIII

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday he might veto legislation to extend federal health insurance subsidies, injecting fresh uncertainty into a debate that has pitted congressional Republicans against Democrats and threatened to raise premiums for millions of Americans.

Expiration of the health insurance tax breaks at the end of 2025 left millions of Americans facing significant price hikes for coverage.

The Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday passed the Democratic-backed legislation that would restore the subsidies to the Affordable Care Act, with 17 Republicans joining Democrats.

Who said the global elitists were male? Could collectively be an old, worn out, dried up, liberal white woman.

You should apologize for misgendering and for being the first to suggest the statement was homoerotic, somehow.

He's just a natural born liar.

"....Data compiled by a Sweden-based organization that advocates for democracy globally found in an October 2024 report found that 34 countries or territories allow mail-in voting, which it refers to as "postal voting."..

His answer to the "disaster" of Obamacare subsidies is....Obamacare subsidies!
