I don't know anyone who was motivated by "basket of deplorables," except perhaps the deplorables themselves.

I don't recall the Democratic candidate claiming that the deplorables were going to violently overthrow the country if they won.

You're not very good at comparisons.

[HILL-A-RY chants]
I know there are only 60 days left to make our case — and don’t get complacent, don’t see the latest outrageous, offensive, inappropriate comment and think well he’s done this time. We are living in a volatile political environment. You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?
[Laughter/applause]
The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people — now how 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive hateful mean-spirited rhetoric.

Trump’s economic adviser: ‘We’re taking a look’ at whether Google searches should be regulated

The Trump administration on Tuesday said it would explore regulating Google –

an effort that would challenge protections around free speech online –

in response to the president’s allegations that

the tech giant manipulates its search results to prominently display negative stories about him and other Republicans.

1034456281120206848other than DJT's bare assertion that Google privileges the left-wing views and suppresses right wing ones, what evidence can you adduce that this is true?

fwiw, Alternet and WSWS have been complaining about the exact same thing for about a year. maybe it's not the right wing per se that's targeted but merely "non-mainstream", "hateful" or arguably "extreme" points of view.

viewed from an economic perspective, optimizing mainstream views makes sense, that's where the clicks -- and the ad revenue -- come from.

Trump Privately Suggests Evangelical Leaders Break Law on Electioneering Because Democrats Will “Violently” Overturn Policies

https://compote.slate.com/images/530c24c6-6f7a-47fe-b953-039e46432a12.jpeg?width=780&height=520&rect=5568x3712&offset=0x0 :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

President Trump used typically inflammatory language to warn evangelical leaders at a White House event Monday night of what GOP losses at the ballot box in November could mean for his administration and party,

telling attendees that Democrats “will overturn everything that we’ve done and they’ll do it quickly and violently.”

Trump met with the 100 or so evangelical supporters during an open press event Monday,

touching on the hot button conservative issues religious liberty and abortion, :lol

but the tone shifted when the cameras were off during a closed-door event that the New York Times got an audio recording (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/28/us/politics/trump-evangelical-pastors-election.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage) of.

As a scare tactic, Trump mentioned

Antifa (https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2017/08/daryle-jenkins-has-stepped-up-to-explain-the-shadowy-groups-violent-tactics-to-the-world.html)—the sometimes violent anti-fascist activists—by name intentionally conflating them with the entirety of the Democratic Party.

“They will end everything immediately,” Trump said.

“When you look at Antifa,” he added, “and you look at some of these groups, these are violent people.”

The president also instructed the religious leaders to use their pulpits to push members of the churches to vote Republican in November,

which would be a violation of the Johnson Amendment (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/02/us/politics/johnson-amendment-trump.html) prohibiting tax-exempt organizations, namely churches and charities, from campaigning, directly or indirectly, on behalf of a candidate.

Trump boasted to the gathered leaders that he got “rid of” the restriction on electioneering, something he had pledged to do during the campaign, which helped him win over the evangelical community.

“They really have silenced you,” he said Monday. “But now you’re not silenced anymore.”

Trump has not, in fact, abolished the Johnson Amendment;

that would require congressional approval. In May 2017, Trump did sign an executive order directing the IRS to back off in its pursuit of churches engaging in political campaigns.

“You have people that preach to almost 200 million people—150 to, close, depending on which Sunday we are talking about, and beyond Sunday, 100, 150 million people,” Trump said.

“I just ask you to go out and make sure all of your people vote.”

Honestly I don't what the fuck you're talking about in this thread. In the same post you were saying people vote logically based on the economy and then right after they vote based on emotion.

It's the mental gymnastics they'll go through when they already knew what party (yes, party, not candidate) they were going to vote for anyways. You can read people like rmt from a mile away.

Going back to our convo, it's a number's game. Shillary won where she needed to win except for the Rust Belt, PA and Florida (last one was pretty tight). First two? All economy. Bullshit about having a backbone and bringing manufacturing back. Baloney.

Trump's attacks backfire as Muslim-American candidates surge (https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2018/8/28/1791609/-Trump-s-attacks-backfire-as-Muslim-American-candidates-surge)

With a stream of anti-Muslim attacks coming from the White House,

Congress is on track to get its first two Muslim women members.

That’s not entirely a coincidence (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/trump-era-igniting-new-wave-muslim-american-candidates-n903641), says Michigan’s Rashida Tlaib, one of those two women:

Then came Trump’s election, which prompted a “moment of darkness, fear and stillness” by American Muslims, she said. It wasn’t until the travel ban that there was “an eruption” and “all of a sudden people were starting to run for office,” said Tlaib.

It’s not just Tlaib, Minnesota’s Ilhan Omar, and the U.S. House, either:

There’s a resurgence in Muslims running for office nationally,

with 29 in ongoing campaigns across 13 states and many of them already clearing primaries en route to the general election.

With at least 105 American Muslims having filed papers this year, it’s a record since 2000, according to Jetpac.

That’s not going to fix all the damage that Trump and assorted other bigots are doing,

but greater Muslim-American representation is a start.

In a morning tweet, Trump attacked Gillum as a “failed Socialist Mayor” and called him the “biggest dream” for Rep. Ron DeSantis, a Republican

..a failed Socialist Mayor named Andrew Gillum who has allowed crime & many other problems to flourish in his city. This is not what Florida wants or needs!

7:00 AM - Aug 29, 2018 (https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1034772809350885376)

Trump’s tweet followed closely on the heels of a national television appearance by Gillum, in which he said he does not fear Trump’s expected heavy involvement in the general election — and called for Trump’s impeachment.

“Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis are both scraping from the bottom of the barrel,” Gillum said on CNN.

Christian Theologian Warns Evangelicals: Trump Will Turn On You ‘In A Moment’

Roger E. Olson has a stark warning for some of Trump’s most enthusiastic supporters.

A Christian theologian has a stark warning for the evangelicals who support President Donald Trump (https://www.huffingtonpost.com/topic/donald-trump).

Roger E. Olson (http://www.patheos.com/blogs/rogereolson/author/rogereolson/) wrote in a blog post on Patheos that Trump could turn on the Christian community “in a moment (http://www.patheos.com/blogs/rogereolson/2018/08/is-trump-our-cyrus-a-critical-american-christian-explanation-and-response/)” ― if it serves his agenda. And, he said, that agenda wasn’t necessarily the same as that of the evangelical community, which has enthusiastically embraced (https://www.vox.com/identities/2018/4/20/17261726/poll-prri-white-evangelical-support-for-trump-is-at-an-all-time-high) the president.

Olson, a professor of Christian theology of ethics at George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, said

many evangelicals don’t necessarily believe that Trump is a man of faith. :lol

But they view him like Cyrus, :lol

the biblical Persian emperor who helped to free the Hebrew people and rebuild their temple in Jerusalem despite not being Jewish himself. :lol

“They regard [Trump] as a person who is not one of God’s own people (Jewish or Christian),

but an instrument of God :lol

to deliver Israel and American evangelical Christianity from persecution,” :lol

Olson wrote.

Trump, they believe, was “raised up by God to reverse the trend in American culture toward total decadence and hedonism.” :lol

But, Olson warned, that might not turn out to be the case at all:

“Personally, speaking only for myself, I believe President Trump only cares about power.

I have not seen any real principles ― other than ‘Make America great again’ (with an implied ‘and me, too’).

I strongly suspect that he is manipulating his conservative Christian ‘base’ and

would turn on them in a moment if it suited his agenda to be powerful.”

Fucking Religion makes you Fucking Stupid

Olson is right, but Religion will block evangelicals from hearing him.

The Repugs/oligarchy have been for decades " manipulating ... conservative Christian ‘base’" with social issues then screwing them financially.

I suppose somewhere in the Bible the Bible-humpers can interpret "being screwed financially" is God's Plan for them.

New “Affordable Clean Energy” Plan Lands With A Thud

The Trump* administration announced its new “Affordable Clean Energy” rules for power plants last week, and

while coal stakeholders may be excited,

the verdict is already in from utilities: meh.

No, Shuttered Coal Power Plants Will Not Rise Again

Coal accounted for roughly 50% of US power generation until just a few years ago, but coal power plants began falling like dominoes when cheap natural gas flooded the power generation market.

More recently, cost-competitive wind and solar have added to the pressure on coal.

As of last year, coal’s share of US electricity generation (https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=427&t=3) was down to 30%.

That trend is not likely to reverse, Affordable Clean Energy rules or not.

More Power Plant Closures In Store

The other shoe dropped last week, when the Tennessee Valley Authority (https://www.timesfreepress.com/news/local/story/2018/aug/27/trouble-paradisetvstudies-whether-close-more-c/477822/) announced it was looking into the pros and cons of closing two of its coal power plants, the Paradise Unit 3 in Kentucky and the Bull Run Steam Plant in Tennessee.

That would add two more to the growing list of TVA coal plant closures.

At its peak TVA operated 59 coal units, and if the two plants shutter that would bring the number down to just 25 (each of the two plants slated for closure has one coal unit).

Affordable Clean Energy Rules Won’t Stop Natural Gas

Natural gas stakeholders have already seized on the flexibility advantage (https://cleantechnica.com/2017/06/28/new-us-energy-dept-grid-study-even-gives-oil-gas-heebie-jeebies/) to make the case that their fuel enables a more effective integration of wind and solar energy into the grid.

That’s a tough argument for coal to win.

Just yesterday Indiana’s Tribune Star took note of a recent study (http://www.tribstar.com/news/local_news/switching-to-gas-power-plants-more-expensive-than-coal-study/article_9b1e5c97-bc1b-5a40-a572-88378d3bb89c.html), commissioned by the mining industry, that looks at the cost of building new gas power plants compared to maintaining existing coal power plants.

Government Watchdogs Call on the New York Attorney General to Dissolve Trump’s Company and Revoke Its Corporate Charter

Free Speech For People (https://freespeechforpeople.org/) (FSFP), a non-partisan legal advocacy organization, announced Thursday that it delivered a letter to New York State Attorney General Barbara D. Underwood on August 24, 2018,

calling for an investigation into whether to revoke the corporate charter of the Trump Organization

under a New York law (http://codes.findlaw.com/ny/business-corporation-law/bsc-sect-1101.html) that authorizes her to dissolve a corporation for persistently illegal conduct or abuse of its powers contrary to the public policy of the state.

These alleged activities, detailed in the letter and in previous correspondence, include

money laundering (https://www.globalwitness.org/en/campaigns/corruption-and-money-laundering/narco-a-lago-panama/),

tax evasion (https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/tax-crimes-brought-down-al-capone-what-about-trump/2018/08/23/996cea04-a710-11e8-8fac-12e98c13528d_story.html?utm_term=.a7c3e8f2c0f8),

fraud (https://www.propublica.org/article/ivanka-donald-trump-jr-close-to-being-charged-felony-fraud),

facilitating unconstitutional foreign government payments (emoluments) to the president (https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/05/trumps-company-isnt-tracking-all-the-money-it-gets-from-foreign-governments/527997/),

helping Iran’s Revolutionary Guard evade international sanctions (https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/03/13/donald-trumps-worst-deal), and

concealing a political slush fund by invoicing bogus “legal services.” (https://wapo.st/2PIgQ5L)

“Cohen’s guilty plea is just the latest evidence piled on top of a mountain of alleged violations by the Trump Organization,”

“The New York attorney general should use her legal authority to file a lawsuit to dissolve the company and revoke its corporate charter.”

“The New York Business Corporation Law is quite clear,”

“The attorney general can dissolve any New York corporation that conducts its business in a persistently fraudulent or illegal manner.

We now have a guilty plea by former Trump Organization, Inc. Vice President, Michael Cohen,

implicating the corporation in a criminal conspiracy to violate federal campaign laws."

Anti-Trump Resistance Rises: President’s Disapproval Hits Record High After Manafort and Cohen News

Ominous trends for the midterms: Trump is more unpopular than ever and Americans are rallying behind Robert Mueller

President Donald Trump's disapproval rating has reached a record high — and the number of Americans who support special counsel Robert Mueller over Trump is now greater than those who do not.

A new Washington Post-ABC News poll (https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/poll-60-percent-disapprove-of-trump-while-clear-majorities-back-mueller-and-sessions/2018/08/30/4cd32174-ac7c-11e8-a8d7-0f63ab8b1370_story.html?utm_term=.4e9f237427ff) found that

three out of five Americans (60 percent) disapprove of Trump's performance as president,

with only 36 percent approving of how he has performed so far.

Similarly 49 percent of Americans believe that Congress should start proceedings that might ultimately lead to Trump's removal from office,

with only 46 percent saying they should not do so.

Finally a whopping 53 percent of Americans believe that Trump's efforts to interfere with the Mueller probe counts as obstruction of justice,

while only 35 percent say that this isn't the case.

Trump, foundation seek dismissal of New York 'self-dealing' lawsuit

U.S. President Donald Trump, his three adult children and his namesake foundation are seeking the dismissal of a lawsuit by the New York state attorney general accusing the nonprofit of “self-dealing” for Trump’s benefit, including for his 2016 presidential campaign.

In a Thursday night court filing, the defendants said the lawsuit by Attorney General Barbara Underwood targeting the Donald J. Trump Foundation contained “fundamental legal and factual deficiencies,” and was politically motivated, reflecting her office’s “antipathy” toward the president.

“Relief is sought based on the NYAG’s appearance of partiality; its overwhelming conflict of interest; and its resulting unwillingness to resolve this matter without litigation,” Alan Futerfas, a lawyer for the defendants, wrote.

Amy Spitalnick, a spokeswoman for Underwood, said on Twitter:

“As our lawsuit detailed, the Trump Foundation functioned as a personal piggy bank to serve Trump’s business and political interests.

We won’t back down from holding President Trump and his associates

accountable for their flagrant violations of New York law.”

Trump’s latest rally rant is much more alarming and dangerous than usual

At his rally on Thursday night in Indiana, ... he also added a refrain that should set off loud, clanging alarm bells.

Trump didn’t simply castigate “fake news.”

He also suggested the media is allied with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s probe — an alliance, he claimed, that is

conspiring not just against Trump but also against his supporters.

“Our biggest obstacle and their greatest ally actually is the media.”

Trump also lashed out (https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/30/politics/trump-evansville-rally/index.html) at the FBI and the Justice Department, claiming that “people are angry” and threatening to personally “get involved.”

Robert D. Chain, who was arrested (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/30/us/politics/fbi-threat-boston-globe.html) this week for allegedly threatening to murder journalists at the Boston Globe while mimicking Trump’s language, also connected Mueller’s investigation to the media.

“You’re the enemy of the people, and we’re going to kill every f–––ing one of you,”

Trump surely knew about this arrest when he repeated his attacks on the news media Thursday night — and when he connected the media to the Mueller investigation as part of a grand conspiracy against him and his voters.

in most or all of these cases, whichever side is culpable,

most of our elected leaders on both sides have used their prominence to calm passions in hopes of averting future horrors.

there is no longer any denying that Trump continues to direct incendiary attacks against working members of the free press even though his own language is being cited by clearly unhinged people making horrifying death threats against them.

even these presidents maintained a grudging acceptance of

the news media as an adversarial mechanism of accountability that legitimately informs the public debate and thus

retains a vital institutional role in our democracy.

Trump simply does not accept this at all.

He is trying to destroy this foundational set of ideas in the minds of his supporters.

And it seems to be working (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/politics/wp/2018/07/25/three-quarters-of-republicans-trust-trump-over-the-media/?utm_term=.9841fce620aa).

there is broad public faith that our institutional mechanisms of accountability are functioning properly;

wide support for allowing them to proceed undisturbed;

broad public conviction that Trump is corrupt and has improperly tried to obstruct that from happening; and

wide opposition to any such efforts in the future.

a Democratic takeover of the House could look like a very serious possibility, which itself will ratchet up tensions.

Trump could still oust Sessions in the lame-duck period and replace him with a loyalist to constrain the probe, which would thrust the country into crisis.

The most charitable interpretation is that Trump is merely invoking this conspiracy against him and his voters to get them out to the polls, to stave off loss of the House and oversight or impeachment later.

There is no reason whatsoever to grant Trump the benefit of such an innocent interpretation.

But whatever his actual intent, there is no denying it:

Trump is doing this in the full knowledge that someone out there might take him at his word, with deadly seriousness.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2018/08/31/trumps-latest-rally-rant-is-much-more-alarming-and-dangerous-than-usual/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.e9fffd87a844&wpisrc=nl_most&wpmm=1

A Republican leader just quit his party and shredded Trump in a blistering op-ed

Michael J. London is the latest GOP member to publicly call it quits

“I blame President Trump (http://www.courant.com/topic/politics-government/donald-trump-PEBSL000163-topic.html) for turning the Grand Old Party into a lame, extreme right-wing group of people unwilling or unable to see the truth.

But Trump is not alone in causing my disillusionment.

I have had it with the state and federal branches of the Republican Party that tolerated the president’s behavior.

None of our GOP candidates for governor denounced Trump.

None of the leaders of Connecticut’s GOP will speak out.

Trump is simply the worst president our country has had — ever.

He is encouraging increased pollution and

disavowing the need to halt climate change.

He is taking credit for a strong economy when it was the previous president (like him or not) who set the current strong economy in motion.

He has separated immigrant mothers and children.

He has, more likely than not, supported (or participated in) collusion with an enemy.”

“Disavowing my party is no easy thing.

I have made many friends over the years in the Republican Party.

I am saddened by the fact that many will be more than offended by what I am saying.

My decision was made after considerable soul-searching.

But I can’t take it any more.

Trump does not represent true Republican values. He does not represent my values.

I am leaving the Republican Party and, for the time being, will remain unaffiliated.”

stunning to see how easily the rank-and-file of the Republican Party have fallen in line with Trump’s racist and destructive agenda

nothing wrong with that, but it only helps 401(k)saving past age 70.

it's a good thing that Trump has used the bully pulpit to draw attention to this problem, but this measure is a band-aid applied to a sucking chest wound.

retirees not having saved enough money for retirement will be a personal problem with social and political dimensions over the 20-30 years, and not just because people are undisciplined. 40 tears of flat wages and an epochal recession figure into this.

the latter dominates for the victims of the oligarchy, not your accusatory, victim-blaming "undisciplined". 1945-75 it was possible for the middle class to have a comfortable life AND save, but now 3/4 of country would be hit hard by $500 emergency expense, consume 100% of their paychecks, paycheck to paycheck, and Banksters Great Depression stole 4M homes forcing people to become renters (no equity) and victims of predatory landlords.

and the bullshit of the "miracle of compound interest". Works miracles for lenders to college students/families at sub-prime 7%.

There was a story on college debt recently where a girl left college $70K in debt, paid back $50K over a few years, to end up with $70K debt.

NY Attorney General: Trump Charity Illegally Bankrolled His Campaign

the Attorney General of New York has pledged to continue with a lawsuit (https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/new-yorks-attorney-general-says-trump-foundation-bankrolled-political-campaign-pursues-lawsuit)against the president for misusing charitable funds donated to the Trump Foundation.

According to her,Trump used the Foundation

as a personal piggybank and

a source of money to illegally fund his businesses and

also his political campaign.

In filing the suit, Underwood wrote that the

Trump Foundation “was little more than a checkbook for payments from Mr. Trump or his businesses to nonprofits, regardless of their purpose or legality.”

The suit seeks $2.8 million in restitution and the foundation’s disbandment.

It's Just AWESOME to assoicate with Trash

Former Trump associates forced to run GoFundMe campaigns
after being swamped with legal bills
with their proximity to the president.

According to Axios, both former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, have each gone hat in hand to the public as their legal problems multiply while being investigated by special counsel Robert Mueller.
To date, the attorney’s “Michael Cohen Truth Fund” has raked in just short of $170,000.

In the case of Flynn, who is reportedly also working with investigators in an effort to secure a plea deal, his family set up a defense fund website.

“The costs of legal representation associated with responding to the multiple investigations that have arisen in the wake of the 2016 election place a great burden on Mike and his family. They are deeply grateful for considering a donation to help pay expenses relating to his legal representation,” the pitch reads, accompanied by a glowing portrayal of Flynn as a military man who served his country.

Trump associates Cohen and Flynn aren’t the only ones who have sought help from the highly-polarized public.

Andrew McCabe, the former deputy director of the FBI who was unceremoniously fired just short of retirement by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, also went the public funding route, raising more than half a million dollars to helpmpay for a legal challenge to his dismissal.

Trump's Approval Number Nose-Dives, Dems' Blue Wave Might Be Building: IBD/TIPP Poll

The broader IBD/TIPP

Presidential Leadership Index (https://www.investors.com/politics/ibdtipp-poll-presidential-approval-direction-of-country/) plunged 11.6% to 40.4. That's one of the biggest monthly drops

since IBD started tracking this index in January 2000. The proprietary Leadership Index combines results from several questions on approval, favorability and strength of leadership.

Trump's Approval: Losing GOP Support

Trump lost significant ground on job approval with Republicans this month, which fell from 83% last month to 76% this month.

Among independents, Trump's approval dropped 4 points to 33%.

Democratic approval has never been above the low single digits.

He also saw a big drop in support from men (it went from 49% last month to 40% today).

His backing among women, however, barely changed. It's currently 32%.

The result is a two-track presidency.

Take foreign policy: In public and in private, President Trump shows a preference for autocrats and dictators, such as President Vladimir Putin of Russia and North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-un, and displays little genuine appreciation for the ties that bind us to allied, like-minded nations.

Astute observers have noted, though, that the rest of the administration is operating on another track, one where countries like Russia are called out for meddling and punished accordingly, and where allies around the world are engaged as peers rather than ridiculed as rivals.

On Russia, for instance, the president was reluctant to expel so many of Mr. Putin’s spies as punishment for the poisoning of a former Russian spy in Britain. He complained for weeks about senior staff members letting him get boxed into further confrontation with Russia, and he expressed frustration that the United States continued to impose sanctions on the country for its malign behavior. But his national security team knew better — such actions had to be taken, to hold Moscow accountable.

This isn’t the work of the so-called deep state. It’s the work of the steady state.

TRUMP BOOM: Unemployment Claims Hit Near 50-Year Low

According to trump - those numbers are FAKE!

Let's take a walk down memory lane and remember a few times Trump trashed the jobs numbers as “fake,” incomplete or something other than the right way to determine whether America had been made “great again.”
Sep. 7, 2012 (https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/244102395838230528)
“Unemployment rate only dropped because more people are out of labor force & have stopped looking for work. Not a real recovery, phony numbers”

Trump Demands to Know Who Put “Entering Crazytown” Sign on Oval Office Door

WASHINGTON —Donald J. Trump demanded on Friday that Attorney General Jeff Sessions investigate who put a sign reading “Entering Crazytown, U.S.A.” on the door to the Oval Office.

Trump reportedly noticed the sign for the first time Friday morning, and

became enraged after asking Kellyanne Conway, the counsellor to the President, to read what it said to him.

According to White House insiders,

determining the creator of the sign could prove difficult, because

between seventy and a hundred White House staffers have been known to use the word “Crazytown” to describe their work environment.

“Whoever put that sign on my door has committed treason against the United States,” Trump told reporters, before turning away and revealing that

someone had put a Post-it reading “President Stupidpants” on his back.

Canadian paper busts Trump for making up stories about fake fans to tell at his rallies

Canadian newspaper published a scathing fact-check (https://www.thestar.com/news/world/analysis/2018/09/08/according-to-donald-trump-a-lot-of-people-are-crying-around-donald-trump.html).

The Toronto Star explained how President Trump talked about nine miners crying tears of joy. The next week, the same story was told but with eight steelworkers.

“Trump tells a lot of stories about his private interactions with people,” the Star reported.

“So although Trump is a serial liar, we can’t say for sure that he is making all of these stories up.

The newspaper then recounted a number of Trump’s stories about people crying.

Trump’s claims of tears from

the head of a major company,

farmers, business people,

the parents of Korean War soldiers and :lol all of them 110+ years old :lol

the children of Korean War soldiers.

The paper noted Trump using tears to shame former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT).

Trump has claimed that members of special counsel

Robert Mueller’s team cried at Hillary Clinton’s election night party.
The Star also pointed out that President Trump has claimed that he has not cried since he was a baby.

Did I say anywhere on this board that he got anyone a raise? IMO, the effects will be felt most by the people who are worse off - meaning those without a job having more possibilities. Those who are already doing ok or well would respectively feel less benefit eg a $1k bonus to someone making less is more of a big deal than to someone making more.

Trump begged campaign advisors to hide his record of supporting a woman’s right to choose

Discussing a potential run for office, Bossie listed Trump’s contributions to pro-choice candidates as a liability in the Republican Party primary.

“I’m against abortion,” Trump claimed.

“Well, you’ve got a track record,” Bossie noted.

“That can be fixed,” Trump argued. “You just tell me how to fix that.”

In the same meeting, Trump reportedly referred to himself as a “popularist” before Bannon taught him the word “populist.”

Bannon’s initial impression of Trump was as “Archie Bunker, but a really focused Archie Bunker.”

Investigative journalist and Trump expert: The president ‘really believes he’s superior to the rest of us’

Johnston said that there is a reason that Trump frequently attack’s people’s intelligence or calls them “dumb.”

Fox News reporting on another corporate media entity's bias is the height of irony.

And the allegation is that Google showed bias by (checks article) trying to increase voter turnout.

Imagine if Google was overtly putting out content that favored one candidate over the other. Can you imagine a corporate media entity doing that? Tucker Carlson should investigate.

Vetting process?

Manafort: Convicted - and more to come.
Gates: Guilty - cooperating with prosecutors
Flynn: Guilty
Pop-dop: Guilty/sentenced
