Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine cannot guarantee the safety of foreign officials planning to attend Russia’s Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9, warning that any incidents on Russian territory fall solely under the Kremlin’s control, Interfax Ukraine reported on May 3.

“Our position is very simple for all countries traveling to Russia on May 9: We cannot be held responsible for what happens on the territory of the Russian Federation,” Zelensky said during a briefing with journalists. “They are responsible for your safety. We will not provide any guarantees, because we do not know what Russia might do on those dates.”

"The level of demographic panic within the government has reached epic proportions," he continued.

In March, Raksha said Russia might be seeing its lowest birth rates since the late 1700s. Births dropped by 6 to 7 percent in February and by 3 to 4 percent in March, the demographer said.

In January, the Health Ministry warned of pending shortages of 86 medicines, including human immunoglobulin, ibuprofen and even iodine. In August, the list extended to almost 200 items.

According to data from Russian medical market research company RNC Pharma, Russia stopped importing medicines containing 99 active substances last year, equivalent to 8% of all imported items.

This year, a report by the market research DSM Group found that the range of foreign medicines available had decreased by a further 20%.

A report published in January by Russian newspaper Izvestia found that 99% of pharmacists admitted to shortages of medicines in 2022. This covers 30% of cancer medicines, and 20% of medicines used to treat blood diseases and congenital abnormalities.

Whereas in Moscow you can still find 75% of brand name medicines, in more remote locations, such as the southern Russian cities of Rostov-on-Don or Pyatigorsk, pharmacies have under half of all subsidised medicines available. In Vladivostok, in the Russian Far East, that shortfall is 64%.

There are very few things I’ve seen the Kremlin worry about, and food prices are one of them.

Russia has already essentially exhausted their stockpiles of the previous year’s harvest. They’re relying on imports for a lot of basic foods and food is a big portion of an average Russians budget.

So, by further STRENGTHENING the ruble, Russia can provide *some* relief on those costs, or at least try to make the pain slow down.

So, a lot of these farmers in Russia are going under. The ones that haven’t are barely holding on.

As you can see, under these circumstances, where you have to plant a bigger area to get close to the same yields, that requires more work.

The labor shortage continues to be a major problem, and Russia is at risk of losing a million migrant laborers simply because they can’t pay them enough.

Putin had suggested that Russia would solve its labor problems through robots and mechanization. But….

The farmers have already been bled dry of profits and they barely scraping by. They can’t afford to mechanize things more.

And as a result, the agricultural equipment industry in Russia is collapsing. That’s the opposite of mechanization.

He said maintaining Russia's oil production at 540 million tons per year until 2050 will require doubling investment in the sector.

In the face of rising costs, "it is necessary to reduce the tax burden," said Rubtsov, according to state news agencies.

Russia has also become the world’s most expensive market for wholesale potatoes. According to the agricultural analytics firm AB-Center, wholesale prices jumped 285.5% year-over-year by early April, rising from 11.4 rubles ($0.14) to 42.4 rubles ($0.53) per kilogram (excluding VAT).

Ukrainian forces launched a missile strike on June 5 targeting a concentration of Russian missile troops near the city of Klintsy in Russia’s Bryansk Oblast, the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported.

The pro-Kremlin event will be hosted by the Tsargrad Institute and led by far-right Russian ideologue Alexander Dugin.

"I am eager to meet everyone. As far as I know, Russians are among the most intelligent people on the planet. It would be foolish not to ask their opinion on all sorts of issues," Errol Musk was quoted as saying by the Russian state news agency TASS.

Among the forum's panels are sessions titled "Russian Space: The Race for Mars" and "The Battle for Hearts and Minds: The Ideology of Sovereign Russia."

According to Kommersant, scheduled speakers include Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, oligarch Konstantin Malofeev, and prominent state TV anchor Ekaterina Andreeva.

Errol Musk, a former South African businessman and politician, has publicly praised Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling him "a strong leader" and saying that "it would be foolish not to admire Putin" in an April interview with BBC Russia.
