FOX Sports Southwest will air 60 games this season, KENS 5 will broadcast nine games and CW35 will carry the action for two games. Eleven regular-season games for the Silver and Black will be carried exclusively on national TV. The season tips off on KENS 5 when the Spurs host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 8:30 p.m. FSSW will carry the Spurs’ first road game of the year on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Chicago. San Antonio’s home matchup against the Golden State Warriors on TNT on Thursday, Nov. 2 will be the first exclusively national Spurs broadcast of the season.


CW35 will broadcast the Spurs vs. Milwaukee Bucks game on Nov. 10 and Spurs at Utah Jazz game on Dec. 21. Both CW35 broadcasts will feature 30-minute pregame specials.


Veteran broadcaster Bill Land returns to call his 15th season of Spurs basketball as the lead play-by-play announcer and former Spur Sean Elliott returns for his 17th season as the lead analyst. Andrew Monaco will serve as the primary studio host, and will be joined in the studio by Cayleigh Griffin with contributions from Richard Oliver. Ric Renner joins the crew for Spurs road games on FSSW.



All 60 FSSW broadcasts will include “Spurs Live” pre and post-game shows. FSSW will also continue “Spurs Insider,” which provides fans an in-depth look at Spurs basketball on and off the court. I still contend that Murray wasn't quite fully healthy during summer league. He only played in two or three of the first games, and even then was on minutes restriction. He also didn't look at all like the Dejounte we saw during the regular season / playoffs last year.

It's not like he went out there and showed something to make the staff say, "Okay, you are ready, we don't need to see anymore" like they have Kawhi and other players in the past. And if he was just struggling, why not let him try to play through it and get better?

The only thing I can think is that the staff knows they will need him with Parker being out, and they didn't want to risk putting him out there if he isn't 100%.

I am inclined to think he's going to be himself, which is bitch and pout. He may stay all season bc no trade is favorable but that doesn't mean he ain't unhappy.
I do think there are other factors that can help in a season that I do expect to have a lot of guys out due to injuries but they aren't meant to replace what LMA can provide.

I'd say you're both right. There are 5 major X factors I can see - Hit on all five, Spurs could possibly ring, miss on all five and it will be a relatively rough season.

LMA - how will he play, how will he be used, what is his attitude, will he be traded

Gay- how well will he come back from injury that often ends careers, how well will he fit in if he can function

Tony - how well will he come back from a major injury of his own (one that ended Barkley's career)

I'd say you're both right. There are 5 major X factors I can see - Hit on all five, Spurs could possibly ring, miss on all five and it will be a relatively rough season.

LMA - how will he play, how will he be used, what is his attitude, will he be traded

Gay- how well will he come back from injury that often ends careers, how well will he fit in if he can function

Tony - how well will he come back from a major injury of his own (one that ended Barkley's career)

His career as an elite player may be over and that is what the Spurs need to get past an elite team.

Great points, as for the Gay injury it might be mental as well as physical. It has to be in the back of his mind that his career could end at any moment if he pushes himself too hard.

Wilkins and Bryant were old and Jennings was pint sized and speed/quickness reliant. The best comparison, is Matthews, a player of similar age and caliber, who though clearly diminished, is still decent and presuming relative health should remain so for awhile.

Gay is likely to follow suit. It helps that he's both tall and long and can comfortably (mostly) slide up a position, which should at least somewhat mitigate the inevitable loss in athleticism.

Unless Leonard suffers a season ending injury, I doubt Aldridge is traded in season. They'll want to remain at their current level and the only possible trade I could see that would more or less do that, is Favors (if he's recovered). But they could just sign him as a replacement, so they might as well keep the higher upside player in the meantime, unless the situation turns toxic.

Green was also involved in the trade rumours. However Pop did publicly say he has not used LMA correctly and he will find better uses out of him offensively, as defensivly he has been amazing. So hopefully after their talk, things are all good. He is still very talented regardless.

I agree. I am just very skeptical of LMA.
These are parties making the best of an awkward situation. I think he'll compete and execute what Pop wants bc he's never been a cancer in the sense of sabotaging his own team, but I don't think Spurs are out of the woods with him and his pouting, or his wanting to be traded, or opting out and leaving.

In think it bears mentioning one of the standoffs that lasted all the offseason came to a close per realgm. Former Austin Spurs Jamychal Green got a 2 yr/17 million contract from Memphis. Kind of a bargain when they started the guy all season. JSimms got a slightly larger but similar guaranteed amount and he was a backup. But Green lost all bargaining power by being restricted. It was either that or a very small QO for a single season. If he were injured he'd be screwed. Gratz for him on the contract but it's bittersweet.

The whole "Captain picking squads" seems to me a sad attempt at creating drama (who will be slighted, who will be picked first, etc) for a meaningless game. If Silver, wanted to increase the drama in the league, than ditch that lousy award show in July and get back to giving out MVP, etc during the playoffs. That was always fun to see how the newly anointed MVP would fare against other MVP contenders who felt slighted (same with DPOY to a lesser degree).

I've seen the Spurs live six times. Five games in SA in 2011 and 2014, all won (against good Teams like OKC etc.). One game in Germany and the fuckers lose to Alba fucking Berlin. :lol

Somehow an even less exciting camp than 2014's. Suggest tonight's game will be more of a dress rehearsal for Wednesday. Btb the game will be on TNT, according to ESPN.

it was the preseason after the championship season ... I saw Timmy live ... I was able to take a photo with him in the Adidas store ... that was more important than the loss against Alba tbh
