it was mostley because of Kawhi, but he come to conclusion that he was mistreat with how Pop and FO handle the team not carring enough of winning, i don't want to get into detail of all their poor functioning, but it was very bad front office wise and also coaching wise, since 2014 the team being so underachiever with so miss oportonities to win more, i'm feeling kawhi cause he gave his all!
How the hell is the team supposed to win at a high level when Leonard, their best player sits out the season? And the job of the player is to play. Not be a whiny bitch about an injury and sit it out. They paid him 19 mil to sit it out. If he was faking are you cool with him collecting 19 mil to sit on his ass? Disgraceful.

Future home of Deng? Wonder what’s PHX price though, and ignore its Ball whether they send back something decentish that could entice Spurs like, say, Bender (Josh Smith would be awesome be unlikely).
Then it’s Ingram, Kuzma, Bender and a 1st Rounder for Leonard.

If James signing with LA is 100% incumbent on acquiring Leonard first, then you absolutely do not participate in making that happen if you're San Antonio FO.
But... If James already signs with them in the next week, you at least listen to LA offers and only make a trade that is unbelievably hard to pass up.
Otherwise sit back and operate your off season plans as if Leonard will be on the roster for at most one year. Any future offers with merit will be considered between then and February, with only LA being treated as a last resort.
Don't reward Leonard and don't assist in an LA superteam. Only two tenets I'm hoping the FO abides by.

With Lebron to LA almost a certainty now, and his plane landing in LA a few minutes ago, I wouldn’t be surprised if he signs on the dotted line tomorrow. Getting this over with quickly, like he said he would, so that the Lakers can start making other moves.
Spurs lose a little bit of leverage as soon as Lebron signs on the dotted line. Not all of it, but some.

Kobe's era is over, just like Magic's and Kareem's and West's. Lakers fans will jump on the nuts of the next big star and never look back.
Lebron would instantly become the most loved guy in LA as soon as he put on a Lakers jersey.
:lol Kobe's era? Role players don't have eras.
You're understimating how insane Kobe's stans are, though. When that Lakers team loses to the Warriors every year, the narrative will 100% be that LeBron isn't better than Kobe because Kobe won rings for the Lakers and LeBron hasn't. Yet another reason why joining the Lakers would be a stupid move by LeBron and would not help his legacy like he thinks it would.

I think the problem is that he played games and dragged the franchise name in the mud. If he just said he likes LA and wants to live there and play there, then more power to him. But by claiming the Spurs are no fun, their doctors are incompetent, degrading the organization, and apparently faking or exaggerating an injury to not play, he gets a black eye in how he played.
If he left like Gordon Hayward, then more power to him because he earned the right to be a free agent. But that's now what happened here.

Yep he needs to go to the Clippers and be coached by Doc Rivers. Lord knows that motherfucker has proven to be a genius over the years, and his players just love him. I wouldn't even consider that truthfully. He still remembers the '00s battles. I will gaurantee popovich doesn't trade a healthy Leonard to LA without acquiring a ton of assets in return. Ingram, Kuzma, and Ball (Aka 1st round pick) at minimum would all be headed here in any trade. LA will be stripped bare before San Antonio sends them a top ten player, fully developed by the organization.

:lmao At the media attempting to spin James' opting out (when he was always going to do so) as the Spurs losing leverage, as well as Lowe acting as if James would be fine going to the Lakers solo.
Going into his 16th season, turning age 34 during it, with mileage closer to a 40 year old, somehow I don't think he's okay with essentially throwing a year in the garbage (especially considering he wasn't in '14-'15 or '17-18), while babysitting the Lakers overrated, immature kids and risking Leonard cozying up to the 76ers and re-signing . . . or worse, the Spurs not trading him and getting him signed to the super max.
Even if George re-signs on a 1+1 deal and comes next off season, he's not enough.

He is a pathetic baby. That shit he pulled will not play with any team in the league. When the team says you are healthy, you are expected to get back out there. When you refuse to play, there is going to be friction. The longer is drags out the worse the friction will be. I would like to see the Spurs go Machiavellian on Kawhi and not trade him. Keep him for all of next year. I know some will say the Spurs reputation will get dragged down even more but I disagree. Why would Kawhi trust the LA medical staff? They messed up Lonzo's knee.
Remember, out of the hundreds of NBA players who have gone to Europe for exhibition or to have a career, Kawhi is the only one to end up with a raging, never before seen mutant eye infection that didn't clear up for months. Didn't have a problem with Spurs doctors then, did he?
Exactly what was he doing in Germany to get that infection? What did he bury his face in?
Give him 12 months of Magic Hollywood House parties and he might end up looking like Brundlefly.
Kyrie threatened to have season-ending surgery if the Cavs didn't trade him. This was swept under the rug in favor of blaming LeBron for "running him out of town."
Durbeta is one of the most media-protected superstars this sport has ever seen. There's nothing he could do that would make the media criticize him for more than a day or two at the most.
Kyrie DID have season ending surgery this year. But Kyrie also came out directly and said it, and tore the bandaid off. All after the season.
Durant played the season out before making the biggest bitch move ever. Kawhi couldn’t even do that

The only good thing that could come out of LeBron going to LA is tarnishing Kobe’s legacy and pushing him down to the fifth best Laker of all time (sixth best player to suit up for Lakers as Wilt wasn’t as good anymore at that point). But that would involve the Lakers winning titles which is painful. Though that would prevent the Warriors from winning them.

Lebron has a summer home in LA. Nothing new here.
Still hoping Pop and R.C. will just entertain whatever offers are made and if they don't work make Kawhi prove his worth on the floor. If he sits, his career will be over.
This isn’t midget Isaiah Thomas who went from a max contract discussion to a MLE at best. Don’t doubt that even if he were to sit out all of next year he would get a max deal for at least 2-3 guaranteed years

I still don't get why Lebron would want to go to LA to live in the Shadow of Kobe. A fan base of faggots who think a side kick is better than him :lol
Going to Philly makes a hell of a lot more sense. Much better players would be around him, could help bring the 76ers back to the top. Kind of an ideal situation imo.

Philly has some nice burbs to live in, and the city is pretty solid compared to about 20 other NBA cities (SA included).

Think his his wife is calling the shots just as much as he is. His family reportedly loves LA, they already have 2 homes there and live there in the offseason, etc. And wherever he goes, he wants to be there for the rest of his career since his kids are about to enter high school. I changed it hoping it would bring some good juju our way with the whole situation and with FA starting tonight tbh. But I’m already getting tired of looking at it.
Does anyone else remember how both PG13 and LeGOAT were two guys Kawhitter always talked to and acknowledged after match-ups? I'm not even sure I saw him do that for former teammates that he was supposedly close to (like Simmons or Deadmon). I hope there hasn't been some sort of pact in the works for this bullshit.

Lakers will sign some vets this year on 1-year deals, and preserve their cap space for a max player. Kiwi will certainly want to join then.
Remember, RC will get bent over if he waits and tries to trade Kiwi at the deadline. Everybody and they mamma will offer yall scraps for your franchise player. The alternative? He buys a 1-way ticket to LAX next summer, only to return in a Laker uni. :lol

The Spurs are smart to wait out the initial free agency open and see how it plays out with LeBron and PG13. They'll have a better sense of the market in a couple weeks and still give wheover is willing to trade for Kawhi at least a full year of value.

PG signing with OKC isn't going to strengthen the Lakers. A lot changes over a year. Remember when PG was going to sign with the Lakers when he became a free agent? Him not doing so after a pretty damn similar situation to Kawhi is somehow supposed to make Magic feel better? Isn't dude going to resign if they don't get 2 Max players this summer? It takes some mental fucking gymnastics to think that PG staying in OKC makes the Laker position stronger.

LeBron joining the Lakers does tarnish his so-called legacy. He is never going to be MJ. The media is saying him leaving this time does not tarnish his legacy. C'mon. It would be cruel af for OKC, if after all these reports pointing to him staying, he ends up in LA.

God if they do that and stretch Deng it would mean the max offer they'd be able to make Kawhi next summer would be 4 years, $76 million. If they signed James + CP3 and just salary dumped Deng their max offer could be 4 year, $108 million next summer (as opposed to 4 years, $139 million from other teams w/o Bird Rights or 5 year, $179 million with Bird Rights from whatever team the Spurs trade him to). Either way, signing James + CP3 would likely kill Leonard to LA next summer.

Yes, but my guess is that doesn’t mean meet with them before midnight.
Like that means a damn thing...
It simply means they would want Kawhi more, if they can't get PG as a replacement.
That's it and all the things that go along with it.
PG isn’t a Kawhi replacement. If he were, he wouldn’t have been bounced in round one by Joe Ingles.
They can schedule meetings. They still can't meet with them until 9 pm Pacific time.

Interesting, thanks for that. So in essence CP3 going there would be a good thing for the Spurs in terms of the market price for Kawhi if LA is out of the running.. I just can’t see LeBron signing in LA without some sort of assurance of a second star THIS year.. that won’t be Kawhi if the Spurs don’t trade with LA..
RC and Pop surely must see this.
Like that means a damn thing...
Well we all know Magic likes to play by the rules.
I kinda think the negotiation right now is not SAS v LAL, but SAS v Leonard.
If I’m spurs I let this drag out and tell Leonard that they want to accommodate his trade but that surely he understands that it’s reasonable for them to also want to get the best deal possible. That might be until December. Then you tell him that if he really wants to be off the team by the start of camp, he should rethink other places you might be interested in signing long term.
If Leonard what’s to sit out again, then that’s a big risk to him. It’s one thing if he played all year last season, but he didnt. Teams, even the Lakers, want to see some proof of life before signing him long term.
Goal for spurs is to really open up the feild of possible suitors in a meaningful way.

Wonder if CP3 will join the Lakers once Lebron signs.. that may be enough to clinch his move for now and wait for Kawhi next season.. not sure of the Lakers cap situation exactly though.
Houston has to sign Paul. Their rep is on the line. Plus if Lakers did it would be like the Deng deal in two years.

It all depends on how badly Kawhi wants out. But Kawhi personally is much richer getting traded than signing as a free agent. I’m sure that’s why PG re-signs with Thunder.

Agreed, there is down side for Leonard in waiting until free agency. No max raises each year of new deal, and continued doubts about his health if he doesn’t play. On the flip sidebar if he stays and plays well enough to get on an all-team, Spurs might still have the super max next summer.
Again, this is why I put the squeeze on Leonard a little more at this point.

True and they are more under the radar than Lakers, which fits his personality. But if he can’t join a super team and wants out of San Antonio, he needs a trade to make up ground he loses in missing the Super Max. Signing as a free agent means losing $$$.

It would hinder Kawhi’s chances of getting a Max deal there next summer obviously. But I think LeBron will not be too pleased if PG remains in OKC and the Lakers do not trade for Kawhi.
I think LeBron is signing there regardless, but just LeBron with all those college kids on LA’s roster is going to be a second round exit in the West. Lebron knows he needs more help than that. And he’ll be almost 35 going into next season. I doubt he wants to waste a year all because the Lakers have high hopes for next summer.

If PG signs a 2-year deal in OKC (1+1), He could still opt out after next season and then sign in with the Lakers if he wants. He will demand a max contract though. With LeBron on board, the Lakers would have to decide between maxing out Kawhi or PG. I seriously doubt both would take significant paycuts to join LA together.
