With the PG13 + James + Kawhi dream dead in LA the Spurs might as well just hold on to Leonard for the year and dare him to walk away from a supermax deal next summer if he qualifies for it. And if he doesn't qualify then he's not the same player anyways and losing him is no big deal then.

From Philly; If Lebron stays home and OKC already locking up PG. Philly is reportedly mulling over offering Saric and Covington an maybe the Miami pick, adding Fultz for Kawhi and Mills.

OKC just retained George after a rental, despite more than two years of rumors that he wanted to play in L.A, just getting Kawhi on the team gives the 76ers a decent shot of retaining him.

Making up for not signing Harden to 4/$60 and being too cheap to buyout Perkins.

Also, if OKC didn’t go into the tax they’d have imploded and lost all of their good players forever.

I'm kind of being facetious here guys. Lakers are Evil Empire, no doubt.

But I cant think of a more juicy karma-filled storyline than giving Kawhi to a Lebronless and PGless Magic. After taking all of their recent highly touted (by lakerfan, mind you) picks. I mean, PATFO was just doing what Kawhi and his group requested.

You see, I can't think of a more richly deserved fate for that asshat than getting exactly what he wants. And I would love him to have to be the face of that organization when they suck balls. Kawhi would miss the relative anonymity of SA after about the third home game, tbh.

Hill, Zizic, Osman, Sexton, lottery protected 2020 1st rounder for Kemba and Batum

Hornets get a lottery pick back in Sexton, a possible future 1st rounder, and also get off of Batum's horrid deal. Getting rid of Kemba allows them to bottom out and try and tank.

Holt did during the RJ's first year, I think again during the West and Aldridge year.

Otherwise, Spurs did an excellent job of signing good contracts and offsetting the big 3's money with vet min's and latter on rookie scale and cheap signings.

Yeah, they screwed up big time in the draft. Both of those guards probably won't interest the Spurs in the least. Beverly and Harris likely won't be enough, even if they get creative and trade us their 2019 pick where the Spurs would get it in the likely event that they miss the playoffs.

Why not? Kawhi, Simmons and Embiid is a conference Finals team and probably a 60 game winner in the east. Getting Kawhi in the door and trying to sell him on staying as opposed never having him and never getting him. OKC would've never gotten PG-13 and probably wouldn't have had they never traded for him.

They didn't know that the cap was going to sky rocket, while the assumed that if they kept all 4 players, each of their salaries would jump about $1.5-$2 million a year (save for Ibaka, I think his deal was flat).

There was also the repeater tax and the NBA dicking the Thunder by retroactively changing KD's 5 year, $85 million deal to a 5 year, $95 million dollar deal- despite it being signed before the Rose rookie max became a thing.

PG staying in OKC just got a lot of GMs to re-think their approach. LeBron going to LA would encourage other GMs to up their offers since they know LA will be desperate to add another piece.

The only thing that would kill the Spurs leverage with Kawhi would be if the Lakers got nobody because they'd run back the same squad and have plenty of money to throw at Leonard next year.

Duncan; 22.5 ppg, 17.5 rpg, 5 apg, 2 spg, 2 bpg, :wow

but shot 42% from the field and 59% from the line on almost 9 attempts per game. Spurs lost Game 1, 4 and 5 by 4 points, 2 points and 8 points,

in game 1 he missed 4 free throws, 4 more in game 4, and 5 in game 5. Had Duncan shot closer to 80-85% from the line the Spurs may have won two of those 3 games including that game one where the Spurs blew a big lead.

I think that Lakers team was more talented while the Spurs were poorly matched and also tired after a grueling series vs the Hornets and coming off another deep playoff run the year before.

Same. But Philly is reluctant to include Fultz in any package, broken jump shot and all. Don’t see them doing it with Kawhi being a potential one-year rental.

Even if it's Kawhi for Covington, Saric, Miami's 2021 pick, J. Anderson, and the rights to Parsekniks, I still might do it, just to be done with it and also to potentially fuck over L.A.

The Nuggets know it's a long shot, but Denver's ultra aggressive front office wants a shot at selling James on a Jokic/Murray/Barton teammate trio--even if it's just for one year.

Harris is better than Barton & Murray, but Murray has a chance to be a poor man's Kyrie, I remember how that dude was torching Steven Adams & OKC last season.

I wonder if Spurs are even trying to get a meeting or just punted given the KL situation.

If we got LeBron, Kawhi might even consider showing up for training camp for his 20 mill. :lol

Yep. Personnel moves reminiscent of beautiful game. Inside out and ball movement. Slashing guards.

Wondering if they plan to move LMA?

Interesting! Hope the beautiful game returns!
