Why are so disingenuous, and why are you a liar?
it's the alinsky way don't you know?
Chris

it's the alinsky way don't you know?
1. “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.“ Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood.
2. “Never go outside the expertise of your people.“ It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone.
3. “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.“ Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.
4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.“ If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.
5. “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.“ There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.
6. “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.“ They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.
7. “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.“ Don’t become old news.
8. “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.“ Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.
9. “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.“ Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.
10.“The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.” It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign.
11. “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.“ Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.
12. “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.“ Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem.
13. “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.“ Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

Holy shit. Someone call a mod stat.
No. Someone said I was pro Manafort and I said I was anti Mueller. Why are so disingenuous, and why are you a liar?
my accusation is that you posted outdated news which left out important developments. i dont care when carter wrote the article. even if she wrote it 5 hours before the developments, it woulnd't matter. what matter is that YOU posted it here long after it was outdated and you left out some pretty important information... ie judge ellis told the jury this morning that he was mistaken the day before
you said anything anti-mueller is good for you. an article that paints the prosecution in a bad light (whining about a judge) is just that
oh that is what you’re upset about?

Roger Stone Pal Randy Credico Told He Will Be Subpoenaed by Mueller
Special Counsel Robert Mueller has told
Roger Stone pal and radio host Randy Credico he will be subpoenaed
for an interview after refusing to accept a voluntary offer from federal agents.
“They actually didn’t call me in,” he said.
“They actually showed up and that asked me to come in and do a personal voluntary interview, which I did not.”

Warner was using Waldman as a back channel to Steele
Waldman represented both Assange and Derispaka
Steele was very interested in Derispaka getting visaif you look past partisan optics, Russkies dealing disinfo to both sides and both sides using it points to a problem somewhat more deeper than "collusion": operational security or the lack thereof. both for intelligence agencies and political campaigns.

Good. This judge has been misbehaving.
there is so much unregularities on this trial. Today, he excused the jury for half the day.
Then the guy says the prosecutors should bring their next witness and the judge hadn't even called in the jury to the court. This judge might be going senile live.

Here Are 5 Reasons Why Paul Manafort Will Receive Every Benefit of the Doubt
The wealthy Manafort has a major advantage in this trial.
1. Judge Ellis Is Skeptical About the Charges Manafort Is Facing
Throughout Manafort’s trial, Judge Ellis has been quick to express his skepticism about the federal government’s case against Manafort—often discouraging testimony about his relationship with Ukrainian oligarchs. Ellis, in fact, has asked attorneys to refrain from using the word “oligarch,” which he considers prejudicial.
2. Manafort Has the Best Legal Defense Money Can Buy
he has skillful attorneys like Kevin Downing as part of his defense team. And Downing, this week, has been attacking the testimony and credibility (https://theweek.com/speedreads/789112/manaforts-defense-attorney-grills-rick-gates-about-secret-life) of the prosecution’s star witness:
3. Manafort Might Have a Sympathetic Jury
Manafort has an advantage in that he has both a skeptical judge and an aggressive defense team, both of whom can play a role in convincing the jury that Manafort is being treated unfairly.
4. Even If He’s Convicted, Manafort Could Receive Lenient Sentence
Ellis has noted that Manafort, if convicted of multiple bank fraud and charges, could spend the rest of his life (https://www.politico.com/story/2018/03/13/judge-manafort-could-face-rest-of-life-in-prison-460302) in prison. But guidelines for these white-collar charges call for sentences well below the maximum allowable, and even if Manafort is convicted, the sentencing judge could exercise discretion and be as lenient as the law allows.
( ... but if he were black, instead of a white scumbag, JeBo would want MAX sentence )
5. Manafort Could Receive a Presidential Pardon
Even if Manafort is convicted and sentenced to prison, he has yet another possible escape route: President Trump, who has made it clear that he considers Manafort’s incarceration during the trial “very unfair (https://www.vox.com/2018/6/15/17468684/trump-manafort-jail-mueller).”

-Papadopoulos continuously pushed for meetings between Trump Campaign officials and Russian contacts.
-Papadopoulos was unsuccessful in establishing any meetings between the Trump Campaign and Russian Officials.
-Papadopoulos and Downer had a conversation in a bar. This was the sole reason the FBI used to launch a counter-intelligence investigation.
-FBI’s Head of Counterintelligence Bill Priestap just happened to be there at the same time. *shrug
-No mention of Papadopoulos in the Steele Dossier
-FBI states: "On July 22, 2016, the FBI is informed that Papadopoulos told Downer “the Russians might use material that they have on Hillary Clinton in the lead-up to the election which may be damaging".
-FBI states: " On July 31, 2016 - just over a week later - the FBI opens a massive Counterintelligence Investigation into an opposing presidential candidate’s campaign based solely on this single conversation."
-Yeah I'd say Papadopoulos is implicated.

Trump Goes After Jeff Sessions Again: ‘Scared Stiff and Missing in Action’
President Donald Trump once again went after his own attorney general, Jeff Sessions, in a tweetstorm about what the media should really be focused on.
The President honed in on reports this week about communications between dossier author Christopher Steele and DOJ official Bruce Ohr.
Trump declared, “I have never seen anything so Rigged in my life.”
But then he went after Sessions for not doing more to look into this, saying, “Our A.G. is scared stiff and Missing in Action.”
Donald J. Trump
✔@realDonaldTrump
The big story that the Fake News Media refuses to report is lowlife Christopher Steele’s many meetings with Deputy A.G. Bruce Ohr and his beautiful wife, Nelly. It was Fusion GPS that hired Steele to write the phony & discredited Dossier, paid for by Crooked Hillary & the DNC....

Giuliani Now Denies Trump Ever Discussed Michael Flynn With ComeyRudy Giuliani is backtracking and pretending he isn’t.
The president’s lawyer is now saying that Donald Trump never discussed (https://edition.cnn.com/2018/08/12/politics/rudy-giuliani-michael-flynn-question-cnntv/index.html) former national security adviser Michael Flynn with then-FBI Director James Comey.
When he was asked why he said the opposite just last month, Giuliani tried to make it seem like never said what he actually said.
“There was no conversation about Michael Flynn,” Giuliani said
on CNN Sunday.
“That is what he will testify to if he’s asked that question.”
That
would contradict not only Comey,
who had told senators that Trump told him he wanted him to drop an ongoing investigation into Flynn,
but Giuliani himself.
Talking to ABC last month, Giuliani denied that Trump had asked Comey to drop the probe—but
did say the two talked about it (https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/week-transcript-18-trump-adviser-judicial-nominations-leonard/story?id=56430826). “He didn’t direct him to do that,” Giuliani had told ABC. “What he said to him was, ‘Can you give him a break?’”
When CNN’s Jake Tapper asked Giuliani about that discrepancy, the president’s lawyer denied he ever said that.
“That’s crazy. I have never said that,” :lol
he added.
“What I said was, that is what Comey is saying Trump said. I have always said the President denies it.”

Authoritarianism expert hints
Lindsey Graham may be covering for Trump
due to the 2016 Russian hacking of his own emails
Addressing the about-face Sen Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has made —
going from Donald Trump critic to stalwart Trump defender
— authoritarian expert Sarah Kendzior suggested that the South Carolina Republican may be doing it involuntarily.
Kendzior was asked what she made of Graham who called for the Mueller investigation in the beginning but now wants it to abruptly end.
Graham appeared on Fox News Sunday where he said,
“These [FBI] investigations against Trump were corrupt to the core.
They gave Clinton a pass, and
we need a special counsel to look at all things at the Department of Justice and FBI
when it came to the Trump investigation, particularly the counterintelligence investigation.”
“I can offer some theories.
Lindsey Graham was one of the people who called for the investigation of the Trump campaign’s ties to the Kremlin,”
Kendzior began.
“He did that all the way back in 2016 before Trump was inaugurated.
He has then done a complete 180.
He’s been supporting Trump, he’s been covering for Trump.”
“The RNC was hacked; no one knows what happened to those emails.
Lindsey Graham personally was hacked (https://www.cnn.com/2016/12/14/politics/lindsey-graham-hacking-russia-donald-trump/index.html) and nobody knows who has those emails.
The RNC is complicit financially and politically and broadly
in what the Trump campaign has done in terms of illicit interactions with Russia.”
“We have tracked all of those financial ties (https://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/commentary/2018/05/08/putins-proxies-helped-funnel-millions-gop-campaigns) and
there’s pretty good chance that
either voluntarily or involuntarily Senator Graham has gotten mixed up in the situation and
cannot be an objective observer,”

Bobby Three-bludgeons is right now actively seeking to interview Azerbaijan born Russian Pop Star Emin Agalarov (http://www.kmov.com/story/38799764/mueller-seeks-interview-with-russian-pop-star-who-encouraged-trump-tower-meeting) who had his publicist set up the Trump Tower meeting with Donnie Dumbsh*t,
so where else would Devin Nunes be but meeting with Emin’s Father-in-Law, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev?
Azer News (https://www.azernews.az/nation/136067.html):
“President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a US Congressional delegation led by Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Devin Nunes and
including member of the committee Rick Crawford.
The successful development of the bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States of America in political, economic, energy and security areas was stressed at the meeting. :lol :lol
The sides said Chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Devin Nunes`s visit to Azerbaijan will contribute to the expansion of cooperation.
Azerbaijan`s active support for peacemaking operations in Afghanistan was hailed, and the sides expressed their confidence that the two countries will continue making efforts to combat international terrorism.
The sides exchanged views over regional security and settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.”
sure the three decade old border dispute (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagorno-Karabakh_conflict) was high on their agenda items but the official account above seems to lack some truthiness, so lets see a Twitter breakdown.

Trump’s lawyer has no idea what ‘obstruction of justice’ meansPoor Rudy. He opened his mouth and embarrassed himself again
“The statement ‘go easy on him’ is hardly an obstruction,” Giuliani claimed.
“Obstruction involves a threat, obstruction involves a false testimony, obstruction involves an offer of money — has to be corrupt.“
this is hardly an exhaustive list.
For one thing, there is no one federal law (https://thinkprogress.org/trump-is-very-confused-about-obstruction-of-justice-f6304ea3a993/) prohibiting a singular crime known as “obstruction.”
To the contrary, federal law forbids a wide range of activities —
threatening or harassing witnesses;
bribing jurors, federal officials, or witnesses;
lying to federal investigators or under oath;
and kidnapping the family members of a federal judge,
just to name of few —
which can all be lumped under the broad heading “obstruction of justice.”
One of the broadest of these obstruction laws (https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1505) provides that
“whoever corruptly…
influences, obstructs, or impedes or endeavors to influence, obstruct, or
impede the due and proper administration of the law
under which any pending proceeding is being had before any department or agency of the United States”
faces a fine and up to 5 years in prison.
If Trump is prosecuted for pressuring (and later firing) Comey, this statute is likely to form the basis for that prosecution.

the director of the FBI office that normally handles employee discipline had decided

Goelman said, adding in a statement, “This decision should be deeply troubling to all Americans.”

revealed details of her testimony before special counsel Robert Mueller's grand jury while speaking with CNN's Chris Cuomo Monday night.
Davis reported that based on her interactions with the special counsel, it is clear they are focused on the issue of "collusion."
"They were really genuinely concerned with whether or not any collusion happened with Russia," she said.
Davis is of interest to the special counsel because of her personal and professional ties to Roger Stone,

Putin wants Trump to hand over three DHS agents investigating company linked to infamous Don Jr meeting
Putin had a whole list of Americans he wanted to be turned over.
According to Michael Weiss, writing for the Daily Beast, far down
Putin’s shopping list are three Department of Homeland Security (https://www.thedailybeast.com/this-is-why-putin-is-targeting-three-dhs-agents) agents
whom he has accused of running off with over $400 million in Russian money –
when in fact they were investigating associates of Putin laundering that money.
The agents — identified as Todd Hyman, Aleksandr Schwartzman, and Svetlana Angert — were included by Putin,
who reportedly explained to Trump that some of that stolen money was funneled to the 2016 presidential campaign of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. :lol
“It might have been legal, the contribution itself, but the way the money was earned was illegal,”
Putin offered at the Helsinki meeting.
As Weiss writes,
“Hyman, Schwartzman, and Angert were not laundering money, as Putin and his prosecutor would suggest;
they were investigating money launderers.”

So now we have a new bill in Congress to punish Russia for its nerve agent attack on Great Britain, that is already causing a drop in the Ruble.
If the bill does not pass by another veto-proof majority, the theory that Donald Trump has been compromised would predict he will attempt a veto.
The theory predicts he will speak out publicly against this, and attempt to fight it by persuading Congress to not pass it.
If it passes by a veto-proof majority, he will sign it grudgingly, then drag his heels in implementation, as well as put out a signing statement that attempts to weaken the bill, by interpreting the language as narrowly as possible.

.. and fast forward to the signing statement, that does exactly what this theory predicts.
He is both dragging his heels, and puts out a signing statement that does everything it can to weaken the bill's implementation.

EUROPE AND THE US DRIFT (DANGEROUSLY) FAR APART
The Continent is something most Americans — those born after World War II — have more or less taken for granted.
But now we need to seriously worry about Europe.
There have been serious friction points like the 2003 Iraq invasion, for example,
but for the most part America could count on Europe to be stable and loyal in times of trouble.
But cracks are definitely widening — both within Europe and between Europe and the United States.https://www.ozy.com/opinion/europe-and-the-us-drift-dangerously-far-apart/88685?utm_source=dd&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=08162018&variable=992d608214b505003aa04bf10a595031

https://images.dailykos.com/images/577489/story_image/DkjkYCQXsAEf_aU_1_.jpg?1534274066
In a subsequent interview (https://www.wsj.com/articles/trump-revokes-ex-cia-director-john-brennans-security-clearance-1534358658) with the Wall Street Journal, Trump made that crystal clear, saying he had to move against Brennan and others he holds responsible for the Russia probe.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dkr0vgYU4AAXbTe.jpg
On revoking security clearances, he said he would "put a Republican on, too, if I thought they were incompetent or crazy.
”Trump then pointed to other investigators who worked on the Russia probe and the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server.
“You look at any of them and you see the things they’ve done,” Trump said. “In some cases, they’ve lied before Congress. The Hillary Clinton whole investigation was a total sham.”
He went on to suggest he’s reviewing the security clearance of other critics – James Clapper, James Comey, Michael Hayden, Sally Yates, Susan Rice, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bruce Ohr – simply because he’s decided that they’re bad people.
“I don’t trust many of those people on that list,” Trump said. “I think that they’re very duplicitous. I think they’re not good people.”
Trump’s comments are reminiscent of when he claimed he was firing Comey over mishandling the Clinton probe, then admitted (http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2017/05/trump-is-trying-to-control-the-fbi-its-time-to-freak-out.html) in a TV interview days later that he was thinking “this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story.”
It was clear from the start that Trump’s move was about punishing his critics (https://twitter.com/JohnBrennan/status/1029830514230865920) and threatening other intelligence officials to watch what they say. But
Trump’s comments to the Journal underscore that the specific goal was undermining the Russia probe.

According to BuzzFeed (https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/emmaloop/senate-intel-wants-to-follow-the-money-in-the-russia-probe),
the slow-walking of information available to Treasury is so bad,
that even people within the department believe that it is intentionally trying to block the investigation.
Last year, Treasury rejected the committee’s request for help from one of its experts,
even as Treasury officials have speculated — behind closed doors
— that the Senate committee would not be able to follow the twisting financial trail laid out in the documents they had turned over,
a path that often passes through offshore shell companies or untraceable cash transactions.
Treasury has been unwilling to provide some documents,
produced others in a deliberately complex form, and
refused to provide the expertise needed to unravel what it has provided.
It’s enough that emails authored by the department’s own
Financial Crimes Enforcement Network discussed whether Treasury was attempting to block the investigation.

Here's Why a Former US Attorney Thinks Michael Cohen's Sudden Silence Should Terrify Trump
For a time, Michael Cohen's name was splashed across national headlines. Now he appears to be laying low.
the president's former attorney who is known to be under federal investigation. "He's suddenly quiet. Is
he acting this week right now like a potentially cooperating witness?"
"You bet he is," Rosenberg replied.
"Now, he's situated differently, of course, because he might end up being a defendant rather than just the witness.
But right, the silence you hear from him is deafening.
The reason you're hearing silence, I think, is because he's cooperating.
He was asked the same thing:
Tell us the truth and don't talk to anyone else.
And guess what? he's not talking to anyone else.
I think it's a very good guess."

Al Franken breaks down why Trump’s ‘collusion is not a crime’ defense is an ‘insult to everyone’s intelligence’
he targeted the absurdity of Trump’s pivot from “NO COLLUSION!” to “collusion isn’t a crime.”
Collusion is a crime, he said:
It’s usually called “conspiracy to commit…”
“The thing is, collusion IS a crime,
if you collude with somebody to break a law,”
Franken wrote.
“That’s called ‘conspiracy.’
You can’t get out of a crime by finding a synonym.
‘I am not guilty of murdering the victim.
I merely killed her!
And there’s no such thing as first degree killing!!!’
If that were the case, all any criminal defense lawyer would need is a thesaurus.”
Franken went on to mock other Trumpian defenses.
“‘My client didn’t steal the iPhone.
He pilfered it.
I demand that he be released forthwith!’
This is the kind of insult to everyone’s intelligence that Trump specializes in,” he wrote.

‘This is what he does when he’s most afraid’: Former Trump casino executive explains president’s Omarosa meltdown

The former Trump executive said Manigault Newman’s tape of Lara Trump appearing to offer her “hush money” days after her firing from the White House reminded him of his own experiences with whistleblowing on his old boss.
“These tactics are similar to what he used when he tried to stop my book,”
O’Donnell said of his 1991 tell-all “Trumped!”
“The letter comes to the publisher,
then they come to you directly trying to buy you off, and
then after that, the threats begin,” he said.
“Looks like the same pattern is there for his behavior.”

Trump Eager To Strip Clearance Of More Critics, Those Involved In Russia Probe
President Donald Trump has told those around him that he wants to strip the security clearance from more critics and people involved in the Russia investigation,
Aides said that
Trump thinks he looks strong :lol
and decisive :lol
for punishing Brennan so aggressively.
Senior advisers, including press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, reportedly
advised Trump to announce the security revocation
this week to
change the narrative from former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman’s tapes (https://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/trump-thank-you-omarosa-tweet-after-lara-recording-release).

still seems a stretch, but I agree using presidential power to discredit mean tweeters is overkill.
The law hinges on intent.
If you publicly state your intent, it becomes less and less of a stretch.

Like I said earlier...Trump has the DOJ slow rolling the release of documents heading to the midterms. I’m curious when he’s going to open the floodgates. He’s had EVERYTHING since he took office.

It's funny that the FBI did everything it could to not affect the 2016 election and the one thing its director did do helped Trump.
But you never think about that.
Using the DOJ to affect US elections is worse.Your side should have thought about that during 2016, but they all thought she’d win and it’d be swept under the rug.

If the Russia investigation is exposed as frame job by the FBI/DOJ what is worse....the frame job itself or using the revelation of the frame job to punish the party who attempted it?

There's more proof of collusion than of a frame job, at the moment.
I personally don't think either side is clean, both were in the mud. I dont think there was a frame job tho.

Rachel Maddow: drumpf Not Flogging Critics by Taking Sec. Clearances, He's Hamstringing Witnesses. (https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2018/8/17/1788920/-Rachel-Maddow-drumpf-Not-Flogging-Critics-by-Taking-Sec-Clearances-He-s-Hamstringing-Witnesses)
doing so denies them access to their files and notes
sequestered in the various agencies they worked for and
makes it impossible to prepare for testimony
that might be required of them as the Trump/Russia probe moves forward.
A cursory examination of the officials being threatened makes this clear:
https://pbs.twimg.com/card_img/1030304353868046337/s1xrAIDe?format=jpg&name=600x314
https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow/watch/maddow-trump-isn-t-attacking-critics-he-s-going-after-witnesses-1300799555807?v=railb
All were in crucial positions to observe or investigate the Trump campaign during the time period involved.
"Look at almost all the names on the list of people the president wants to do this to. Brennan, CIA director during the Russia attack.
Clapper, director of national intelligence during the Russia attack.
Comey, director of the FBI during the Russia attack.
McCabe, deputy director of the FBI during the Russia attack.
Strzok, head of counterintelligence at the FBI during the Russia attack.
Susan Rice, national security adviser during the Russia attack.
Sally Yates, deputy attorney general during the Russia attack.
Security clearances may or may not be something any of these people are using for their current work.
But if they are stripped of their clearances or blocked from ever getting them again,
what does that do to their ability to prepare for testimony and to testify if need be?
We have good reason, after all, to think that
a bunch of these people might have important things to say
provided they can speak about classified material in a classified setting."
