i searched all your posts including his name in the entire political forum and there were no results

yeah maybe he was mentioned within an article but never somebody you felt was important enough to include his name in any post :lmao

Mr. Horowitz is separately scrutinizing Crossfire and isn’t expected to finish for months. But the current report reveals that FBI officials displayed not merely an appearance of bias against Donald Trump, but animus bordering on hatred. Peter Strzok, who led both the Clinton and Trump investigations, confidently assuaged a colleague’s fear that Mr. Trump would become president: “No he won’t. We’ll stop it.” An unnamed FBI lawyer assigned to Crossfire told a colleague he was “devastated” and “numb” after Mr. Trump won, while declaring to another FBI attorney: “Viva le resistance.”

:lol low level lawyer

That was the exact the description in one of the articles posted here, which also included that he admitted to altering whatever document it was.

As I said in the post above, the fact that he hasn't been smeared until now pretty much ascertains that's an accurate description.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/horowitz-finds-evidence-fbi-employee-altered-russia-probe-document

The paper eventually added a correction to the bottom of its piece, reading, "Correction: An earlier version of this story erroneously stated that the FBI employee being investigated for altering a document worked underneath former Deputy Assistant Director Peter Strzok. The employee was a low-level lawyer in the Office of General Counsel and did not report to the deputy assistant director."

not at all.

i look forward to reading the report when it comes out. if people acted in a manner that calls into question the integrity of the process, i'm glad that they've been caught and will face the music

but if you had a wish list of desired outcomes, i dont think the guy going down being a person you had literally never heard of until 15 minutes ago was on that list :lol

:lol plus, why would you be butthurt? It's his deep state conspiracy that got shot down in flames.

Can you imagine pimping and waiting for the IG report for months, putting all you eggs in that basket, only to find out that the IG conclusion is that the FISA request was legal? rofl

The forgotten story of Republican Mike Conaway and how Mexico stole the election (https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2019/11/23/1901459/-The-forgotten-story-of-Republican-Mike-Conaway-and-how-Mexico-stole-the-election)

On January 12, 2017, a week before Donald Trump took office, Texas Republican Rep. Mike Conaway called a press conference to report urgent news. The House Intelligence Committee member had unearthed another example of foreign actors intervening to tip the balance of a U.S. election.

As The Dallas Morning News (https://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/2017/01/12/texas-congressman-compares-russian-hacking-to-mexican-singers-campaigning-for-clinton/) reported, Conaway had turned up a plot every bit as insidious as the Russians.

Turner: "Harry Reid and the Democrats brought in

Mexican soap opera stars, singers and entertainers

who had immense influence in those communities into Las Vegas,

to entertain, get out the vote and so forth.

Those are foreign actors, foreign people, influencing the vote in Nevada.”

When he was asked whether he considered getting

a Mexican singer to croon a song was “on par with Russian cyber-intrusions,” Turner did not equivocate.

Turner: “Sure it is, it's foreign influence.”

What he was trying to do was diminish the obvious impact of the Russian intrusion,

to make it seem like just one of many, to excuse the idea of laughing it off.

And that’s exactly what Conaway, Devin Nunes, and others are still doing when they wave op-eds and Facebook posts to “prove” Ukrainian interference in the election.

Donald Trump brutally fact-checked by his own Justice Department on ’60 Minutes’ for Ukraine conspiracies

Sunday, “60 Minutes” did an epic fact-check on the president and his GOP pals citing Trump’s own Justice Department (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/russian-hackers-2016-election-democratic-congressional-campaign-committee-60-minutes-2019-11-24/), which

charged at least 12 Russian citizens for their involvement.

There are at least two open cases against Russians for interfering with the U.S. presidential and congressional races.

What is often forgotten, however, is that the Russians also hacked the Republican Party’s servers (https://www.thedailybeast.com/report-russian-hackers-had-rnc-data-but-didnt-release-it).

It’s unclear if Russia still has access to the information by the GOP and if they’re using it behind the scenes.

“The GRU is military intelligence.

So when we look at the attacks that happened during our presidential races in 2016

you had military organizations inside of Russia attacking our infrastructure,”

those involved in the Russian efforts are hackers as well as soldiers.

“And in most cases, in most of these units, they’re not just hackers, they’re probably some of the best mathematical minds in Russia,” he continued.

“These are seasoned professionals that have worked their way up the ranks to be in these units to carry out these strategic attacks on behalf of that country

Shockingly, all of it is still going on.

“The Russians never left,” Anderson said. “I can guarantee you in 2016 after this all hit the news,

they never left. They didn’t stop doing what they’re doing.”

Republicans’ Big Lie About Trump and Russia

Collusion wasn’t a hoax and Trump wasn’t exonerated.

There are two very big lies that Donald Trump and his sycophants have used,

through aggressive, bombastic repetition,

to shape the public debate about impeachment, and

about Trump’s legitimacy more broadly.

The first big lie is that

“the people” elected Trump, and that

the constitutional provision of impeachment would invalidate their choice.

In fact, Trump is president only because a constitutional provision invalidated the choice of the American people.

The second big lie is that Russia didn’t help elect Trump, and that the president has been absolved of collusion.

the Mueller report found abundant evidence that

the campaign sought Russian help,

benefited from that help and

obstructed the F.B.I. investigation into Russian actions.

His investigation resulted in felony convictions for Trump’s former campaign chairman, deputy campaign chairman, personal lawyer, first national security adviser, and longtime political adviser, among others.

Russian operatives are back for the 2020 election —
and have an insidious new strategy

As accomplices, way too many of us were easily — willingly, in many cases — hoodwinked into sharing and retweeting propaganda designed to elect Donald Trump and, amid the chaos, undermine Western democracy.

Putin and his operatives recognized a significant weakness here —

the semi-distracted, drive-by gullibility of American social media users.

As much as it pains me to say it, Putin was right.

We might even be more gullible than he forecasted.

Darren Linvill and Patrick Warren, just published a mind-blowing article for Rolling Stone (https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/russia-troll-2020-election-interference-twitter-916482/) about the next generation of active measures emerging from the ashes of the Robert Mueller-indicted Internet Research Agency (IRA).

the IRA was folded into the Federal News Agency in Russia, which, like the IRA, is reportedly financed by Yevgeny Prigozhin (https://www.thedailybeast.com/heres-how-trump-backing-russian-trolls-spawned-a-news-agency-in-washington), nicknamed “Putin’s chef (https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2019/10/07/putins-chef-admits-links-to-pro-kremlin-media-for-the-first-time-a67618).”

And, naturally, the Kremlin’s active measures continue today under that barely disguised shingle.

a version of the classic bait-and-switch trick — simple enough if you know it’s coming, but just clever enough to outwit those of us who are most susceptible.

a Twitter account known as @IamTyraJackson posted a thing about NFL athlete Warrick Dunn’s charity work. The goal here was to build a massive audience for the account by tweeting something innocent yet irresistible. And irresistible it was, accumulating a colossal 290,000 likes.

The @IamTyraJackson account was gratefully suspended,

but not before the IRA gained all kinds of new followers for the short lifespan of the account,

subsequently hammering those followers with disinformation —

again, baiting followers with something sweet and cuddly,

then bludgeoning them with “messages promoting division, distrust, and doubt,”

Another IRA front, known as @PoliteMelanie, was given a very specific yet nefarious mission.

Driving apart the United States is exactly the point.

the Melanie account tweeted the results of a fake poll aimed at “educated, urban, left-wing Americans.” In the end,

the account managed to build a following of 20,000 people, aided by the poll and its 300,000 likes.

The fake poll, by the way, suggested that

55 percent of conservatives believed “homo sapiens” (sic) should be disowned by their family.

And yes, apparently well-educated liberals were duped.

Remember WHO it is that's been investigating the DOJ/FBI since January and who is now slow rolling *some* of the evidence out in advance of his soon-to-be-released report to prepare the public for it's explosive revelations:

This isn't Judicial Watch or members of Congress doing their own investigations that uncovered the #FusionGPS/FBI/DOJ nexus of corruption.

It's this DOJ Inspector General who's been QUIETLY doing his work in the background since January while EVERYBODY focused on Mueller.

Strzok, Page, the Ohrs, Hillary's campaign funding the Trump dossier thru #FusionGPS & trying to hide it by running the $ through a law firm?

The DOJ IG is the guy who uncovered all of this.

Since nobody even knows who this guy is, allow me to introduce you to the DOJ IG: his name is Michael Horowitz.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_E…

When Horowitz announced last January he'd been tasked with investigating the DOJ/FBI for political fixing, it received so little media attention even *I* didn't hear about.

oig.justice.gov/about/meet-ig.…

Literally NOBODY at the time in the media paid any attention at all to this official announcement on January 12th, 2017.

oig.justice.gov/press/2017/201…

Here's what Horowitz and his 450 agents were specifically tasked with investigating, and what they have been pursuing QUIETLY since January:

Now, IG Horowitz and his investigators aren't LIMITED to just that; if during their investigation they discover other improper acts by FBI/DOJ officials they can investigate those improper actions as well.

Note the 1st issue Horowitz was tasked with investigating: that's Comey's decision not to press charges against Hillary Clinton & her aides *despite* the obvious fact the law was broken numerous times relating to classified information.

We now know, thanks to the IG & his special agents investigation into this, that Peter Strzok & others in the FBI *knew* Hillary & her aides, Cheryl Mills & Huma Abedin, repeatedly lied in their interviews about Hillary's illegal email server.

Clinton/Mills/Abedin insisted to the FBI agents that they never intentionally sent class. info over nonsecure lines.

Mills & Abedin compounded their lies by claiming they didn't even KNOW about this private server of Hillary's until after she left the St. Dept.

Strzok & others in the FBI at that time had emails in their possession that demonstrated Hillary/Mills/Abedin were sending emails to each other DISCUSSING the private server.

These emails were written, of course, while Hillary was still the Secretary of State.

So Strzok & other agents in the FBI were very well aware they were being lied to extensively during these interviews.

And they made a deliberate decision to let them skate.

So 1 of the VERY FIRST THINGS Horowitz established in his investigation was that proper procedures were NOT followed in this investigation of the email server.

Agents let powerful Democrats boldly lie to them and get away with it.

But, in the course of investigating why FBI agents including Strzok let Hillary & her aides boldly lie to them & then walk away without any charges, IG Horowitz uncovered SOMETHING ELSE.

Not only were FBI agents - who are supposed to be strictly politically neutral at their jobs - giving Democratic politicians & their staff preferential treatment, Horowitz discovers these same FBI agents & others at the DOJ are engaging in blatant political fixing.

In the course of looking into why FBI agents let people tell blatant lies and walk away, Horowitz discovers these same agents making use of the Trump dossier to get a FISA warrant approved for surveillance of the Trump campaign during the election.

IG Horowitz & his special agents then dig into the Trump dossier and how it was used to bolster the case to the FISA court that top Trump campaign team members needed to be investigated/surveilled as possible foreign agents.

Since by August it was know the Trump dossier was an opposition research product of #FusionGPS, it's being used by FBI agents to get a FISA warrant for surveillance of a political campaign is a huge red flag.

In fact, even earlier than this Senator Charles Grassley had become aware of information in which the FBI actually offered to pay $ to the Trump dossier's author, Christopher Steele, to continue his research into Trump. Grassley demands the FBI explain this.

So now IG Horowitz has to investigate the improper use of a political opposition research product by FBI/DOJ officials. There is no way if this dossier was accurately described as political opposition research that it should've been presented to the FISA court.

And it's while researching the Trump dossier that IG Horowitz discovers it's production was funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign. Which tried to HIDE this funding by running the $ through the law firm of Perkins Coie.

By this point, realize what Horowitz has uncovered so far:

1) FBI agents allowed Hillary & her aides to lie during interviews without ANY consequences

2) FBI agents improperly made use of political opposition research to help launch FISA surveillance of a political campaign

3) Hillary Clinton's campaign illegally tried to hide it's funding of the Trump dossier from the FEC by using a law firm.

Now here's what ELSE Horowitz discovers: FBI/DOJ officials who made use of this dossier knew it was tied to Hillary & that it was oppo research.

Through study of emails, text messages, phone calls and other records, Horowitz builds a case that demonstrates top FBI/DOJ people knew this Trump dossier was tied to the HRC campaign and the only way they could use it in FISA court was to MISREPRESENT IT to the judge.

IF Strzok & other FBI/DOJ people had ACCURATELY presented the dossier to the FISA court, it would have been inadmissible as political propaganda/oppo research.

Instead, they chose to present it as the result of INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY work.

The case Strzok & others were making to the FISA court to get that surveillance warrant was that top Trump people were likely COMPROMISED and working as AGENTS OF A FOREIGN POWER, namely Russia.

And instead of saying "And here's our proof, stuff from a dossier compiled by a former MI6 guy being paid by the HRC campaign thru #Fusion GPS!"

the FBI/DOJ decided to BOLSTER their case for the warrant by misrepresenting where this information came from.

Let me explain here it is a SERIOUS CRIME to misrepresent your evidence to the FISA court to pretend you have probable cause to believe people are acting as foreign agents & they need to be wiretapped & surveilled.

At this point, IG Horowitz and his special agent investigators had to be HORRIFIED by what they had discovered.

Now the question becomes: why were FBI/DOJ officials so DETERMINED to get this FISA surveillance of the Trump campaign?

To the point they would commit the crime of misrepresenting the origin/nature of the Russian info in the Trump dossier to the FISA court?

And the answer is: as an 'insurance policy' in case Trump won the election.

Look at all the Strzok text messages that have been released from the IG's investigation thus far.

Did he think Trump was dirty and just chock full of Russian collusion?

Yes he did.

The reason top FBI/DOJ people were determined to get the Trump campaign under FISA-approved surveillance was so they could begin collecting EVIDENCE of all the Russian/foreign collusion they just KNEW Trump & his team MUST be engaging in.

Remember: Hillary's foreign entanglements/corruption were WELL KNOWN to all the highly placed people in the Obama regime. People in the FBI/DOJ knew all about them because they'd just spent EIGHT YEARS making sure she got away with it all.

Now...how did these same people view Trump last year leading up to the election?

From their own writings, we know they believed Trump is just as corrupt as Hillary, if not MORE so.

So how hard would it be to build a case against him if they get surveillance? 🤔

Given that these people think Trump is even more corrupt that Hillary & must be setting up numerous pay-to-play schemes for himself leading up to the election, and certainly after WINNING it, finding evidence of Russian collusion would be CAKE.

Remember also: at the time Strzok & Ohr and all these others are engineering this FISA court surveillance, they hoped to uncover crimes they could use BEFORE the election to sink Trump's chances to win.

After Trump won the election, the FISA surveillance was SUPPOSED to now be used as an 'insurance policy' to find evidence of Trump corruption & hopefully lead to his quick impeachment.

And here's what's to funny about all of this: They got the surveillance they wanted and they found....NOTHING.

There were no pay-to-play schemes being set up, no illegal secret deals being done.

As I've been saying for going on 9 months now, if any smoking gun had been produced from any of this, it'd have leaked long ago.

Instead of finding any evidence from this FISA surveillance they can use to damage/impeach Trump, what Stzok & others ended up having to do was go after gen (https://www.spurstalk.com/forums/member.php?u=14810)Flynn for making perfectly legal phone calls to the Russian ambassador & manufacturing a process crime.

So here's what IG Horowitz's report is going to show: a highly partisan FBI/DOJ engaged in blatant political fixing to let Democrats skate from serious crimes while actually BREAKING THE LAW to try to nail/manufacture cases against Trump's incoming administration.

Michael E. Horowitz, remember that name.

Once Democrats & DNC Media figure out what he's done, what he's been doing and who's going to prison as a result, what they did to Ken Starr in the 1990's is going to look mild.

Ken Starr's investigation led to Bill Clinton's impeachment. Michael Horowitz's investigation will have far greater results and will actually to people going to prison for violating their offices and their oaths.

GOP Intelligence Committee Chairman Refuses To Knock Down Ukraine Conspiracy Theory

Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina declines to say whether Ukraine meddled in the 2016 election.

Sen. Richard Burr (https://www.huffpost.com/topic/richard-burr) (R-N.C.) on Monday refused to say whether he’s seen evidence that Ukraine (https://www.huffpost.com/news/topic/ukraine) interfered in the 2016 presidential election, declining to directly rebut a debunked conspiracy theory

played a game of words with reporters on Capitol Hill who pressed him about an interview (https://www.huffpost.com/entry/republican-john-kennedy-russia-dnc-hack-ukraine_n_5ddab4d8e4b00149f71e72ee) with Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.),

who suggested the Ukranian government worked “actively” to help elect Trump’s opponent Hillary Clinton (https://www.huffpost.com/news/topic/hillary-clinton).

Trump later thanked Kennedy “for the job he did in representing both the Republican Party and myself” on Twitter.

“Every elected official in the Ukraine was for Hillary Clinton,” Burr claimed Monday, according to NBC’s Frank Thorp (https://twitter.com/frankthorp/status/1201649575037145093).

“Is that very different than the Russians being for Donald Trump?” :lol Evidence Free False Equivalence undetectable by Repug mob cult

Burr’s own committee concluded (https://www.npr.org/2019/10/08/768319934/senate-report-russians-used-used-social-media-mostly-to-target-race-in-2016)that Russia used social media campaigns to sow discord among the American electorate in 2016, adding that the activity was “overtly and almost invariably supportive of then-candidate Trump.”

The committee ... “found no evidence that Ukraine waged a top-down interference campaign akin to the Kremlin’s efforts to help Trump win in 2016,”

Republicans were playing into Russian President Vladimir Putin’s hands by pointing the finger at Ukraine.

Trump and his Republican allies on Capitol Hill have continued to seek to shift the narrative that Russia meddled in the 2016 election.

The Steele dossier is a very important piece of evidence, just not the evidence you are hoping for. The Steele dossier ties the DNC to Fusion GPS, which ties the DNC to hired Russian agents. I don't think special counsel Mueller is working on what you think he's working on, quite the opposite.

The full list of Mueller indictments and plea deals
1) George Papadopoulos, former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser, was arrested in July 2017 and pleaded guilty in October 2017 to making false statements to the FBI. He got a 14-day sentence.

2) Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chair, was indicted on a total of 25 different counts by Mueller’s team, related mainly to his past work for Ukrainian politicians and his finances. He had two trials scheduled, and the first ended in a conviction on eight counts of financial crimes. To avert the second trial, Manafort struck a plea deal with Mueller in September 2018 (though Mueller’s team said in November that he breached that agreement by lying to them). He was sentenced to a combined seven and a half years in prison.

3) Rick Gates, a former Trump campaign aide and Manafort’s longtime junior business partner, was indicted on similar charges to Manafort. But in February 2018 he agreed to a plea deal with Mueller’s team, pleading guilty to just one false statements charge and one conspiracy charge.

4) Michael Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser, pleaded guilty in December 2017 to making false statements to the FBI.

5-20) 13 Russian nationals and three Russian companies were indicted on conspiracy charges, with some also being accused of identity theft. The charges related to a Russian propaganda effort designed to interfere with the 2016 campaign. The companies involved are the Internet Research Agency, often described as a “Russian troll farm,” and two other companies that helped finance it. The Russian nationals indicted include 12 of the agency’s employees and its alleged financier, Yevgeny Prigozhin.

21) Richard Pinedo: This California man pleaded guilty to an identity theft charge in connection with the Russian indictments, and has agreed to cooperate with Mueller. He was sentenced to 6 months in prison and 6 months of home detention in October 2018.

22) Alex van der Zwaan: This London lawyer pleaded guilty to making false statements to the FBI about his contacts with Rick Gates and another unnamed person based in Ukraine. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and has completed his sentence.

23) Konstantin Kilimnik: This longtime business associate of Manafort and Gates, who’s currently based in Russia, was charged alongside Manafort with attempting to obstruct justice by tampering with witnesses in Manafort’s pending case last year.

24-35) 12 Russian GRU officers: These officers of Russia’s military intelligence service were charged with crimes related to the hacking and leaking of leading Democrats’ emails in 2016.

36) Michael Cohen: In August 2018, Trump’s former lawyer pleaded guilty to 8 counts — tax and bank charges, related to his finances and taxi business, and campaign finance violations — related to hush money payments to women who alleged affairs with Donald Trump, as part of a separate investigation in New York (that Mueller had handed off). But in November, he made a plea deal with Mueller too, for lying to Congress about efforts to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.

37) Roger Stone: In January 2019, Mueller indicted longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone on 7 counts. He accused Stone of lying to the House Intelligence Committee about his efforts to get in touch with WikiLeaks during the campaign, and tampering with a witness who could have debunked his story. He was convicted on all counts after a November 2019 trial.

Finally, there is one other person Mueller initially investigated, but handed over to others in the Justice Department to charge: Sam Patten. This Republican operative and lobbyist pleaded guilty to not registering as a foreign agent with his work for Ukrainian political bigwigs, and agreed to cooperate with the government.

The Steele dossier is a very important piece of evidence, just not the evidence you are hoping for. The Steele dossier ties the DNC to Fusion GPS, which ties the DNC to hired Russian agents. I don't think special counsel Mueller is working on what you think he's working on, quite the opposite.

Chumpdumper is a little bitch that doesn't like to put his takes on the line, how about you and I make a friendly avatar bet. Winner chooses losers avatar, you determine the length of the terms.

I win if anyone from the Obama administration/DNC or tied to the DNC is indicted by Mueller's investigation.
You win if anyone from Trump's team or tied to his team is indicted by Mueller's investigation.

Bonus bet if you so choose: 2x the length of the terms if Wasserman Schultz is indicted for her actions while at the DNC

I believe the whole Russian collusion angle was manufactured by the DNC with help from the Obama administration and the IC to take down Trump while he was running. They thought Hillary would easily win and they'd be able to sweep their plan under the rug. Trump shocked everyone and won. What we are seeing now is the scrambling of the DNC and the IC to try and cover up their mess. The flawed CrowdStrike report and the unmasking of USP's and illegal dissemination were fatal blows to the attempted cover up.

Here's your chance to rid the board of me for good.

iii. Paul Manafort’s Two Campaign-Period Meetings with Konstantin Kilimnik in the United States
Manafort twice met with Kilimnik in person during the campaign period — once in May and again in August 2016. The first meeting took place on May 7, 2016, in New York City. In the days leading to the meeting, Kilimnik had been working to gather information about the political situation in Ukraine. That included information gleaned from a trip that former Party of Regions official Yuriy Boyko had recently taken to Moscow — a trip that likely included meetings between Boyko and high-ranking Russian officials. Kilimnik then traveled to Washington, D.C. on or about May 5, 2016; while in Washington, Kilimnik had pre-arranged meetings with State Department employees.

Late on the evening of May 6, Gates arranged for Kilimnik to take a 3:00 a.m. train to meet Manafort in New York for breakfast on May 7. According to Manafort, during the meeting, he and Kilimnik talked about events in Ukraine, and Manafort briefed Kilimnik on the Trump Campaign, expecting Kilimnik to pass the information back to individuals in Ukraine and elsewhere. Manafort stated that Opposition Bloc members recognized Manafort’s position on the Campaign was an opportunity, but Kilimnik did not ask for anything. Kilimnik spoke about a plan of Boyko to boost election participation in the eastern zone of Ukraine, which was the base for the Opposition Bloc. Kilimnik returned to Washington, D.C. right after the meeting with Manafort.

Manafort met with Kilimnik a second time at the Grand Havana Club in New York City on the evening of August 2, 2016. The events leading to the meeting are as follows. On July 28, 2016, Kilimnik flew from Kiev to Moscow. The next day, Kilimnik wrote to Manafort requesting that they meet, using coded language about a conversation he had that day. In an email with a subject line “Black Caviar,” Kilimnik wrote:
I met today with the guy who gave you your biggest black caviar jar several years ago. We spent about 5 hours talking about his story, and I have several important messages from him to you. He asked me to go and brief you on our conversation. I said I have to run it by you first, but in principle I am prepared to do it.... It has to do about the future of his

As to the contents of the meeting itself, ... at least three principal topics were discussed.

Second, Manafort briefed Kilimnik on the state of the Trump Campaign and Manafort’s plan to win the election. That briefing encompassed the Campaign’s messaging and its internal polling data. According to Gates, it also included discussion of “battleground” states, which Manafort identified as Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota. Manafort did not refer explicitly to “battleground” states in his telling of the August 2 discussion,

After the meeting, Gates and Manafort both stated that they left separately from Kilimnik because they knew the media was tracking Manafort and wanted to avoid media reporting on his connections to Kilimnik.

After Russian trolls target black Americans, one city fights back

What had begun as a heartfelt popular response to the police shooting of a local black man was taking on an unfamiliar hateful edge that felt inauthentic.

On the internet, he saw protest campaigns that seemed to be no more than mash-ups of images designed simply to stir instinctive emotions.

“I wasn’t the only one thinking,

‘This doesn’t seem like our community,’”

says Mr. Smith, a dreadlocked warehouse worker who recalls seeing

pages such as “Black Matters US” popping up on his phone screen.

“It felt purposefully manipulated.”

Turns out, he was right.

About two-thirds of Russian activity on Facebook and other social media platforms seeking to influence the 2016 election was

aimed at black Americans,

according to a new Senate Intelligence Committee report. And at least one of the Moscow-linked trolls was focusing on Charlotte.

The internet campaign appeared

designed to convince African Americans,

who traditionally favor Democrat candidates,

that it was not worth voting – at least not for Hillary Clinton.

It was built on false messages such as “HILLARY RECEIVED $20,000 DONATION FROM KKK FOR HER CAMPAIGN.”

Trump welcomed Russia’s Sergey Lavrov to the White House — to humiliate us all

https://www.rawstory.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Trump-left-and-Russian-Foreign-Minister-Sergei-Lavrov.jpg

Lavrov was honored with his second private Oval Office meeting (the first one was a cataclysmic disaster (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/trump-revealed-highly-classified-information-to-russian-foreign-minister-and-ambassador/2017/05/15/530c172a-3960-11e7-9e48-c4f199710b69_story.html)) and

a press conference with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo,

the foreign minister took his opportunity here to repeatedly humiliate the United States.

Standing beside Pompeo, Lavrov vehemently and condescendingly dismissed the conclusion of the U.S. intelligence community that Russia interfered in the 2016 election.

“We have highlighted once again that all speculation about our alleged interference in domestic processes in the US are baseless.

There are no facts that would support that.

We did not see these facts,” Lavrov said.

“No one has given us this proof because it simply does not exist.”

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report and public indictments meticulously documented extensive evidence of the Russian efforts to interfere in the election.

Lavrov proudly and contemptuously lied to the world and disparaged the findings of U.S. intelligence.

Justice Department watchdog investigating possible FBI leaks to Giuliani in 2016

The Justice Department inspector general continues to investigate potential leaks by FBI officials in New York to President Donald Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani before the 2016 election.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz told the Senate Judiciary Committee (http://www.cnn.com/2019/12/11/politics/justice-department-inspector-general-senate-hearing/index.html) on Wednesday that the investigation is ongoing, and is broader than just Giuliani, but suggested his team was struggling to prove that there were illegal leaks.

Shortly before the election (https://www.cnn.com/2016/11/04/politics/rudy-giuliani-hillary-clinton-email-fbi/index.html), Giuliani claimed that he heard about big problems coming soon for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

That was shortly before then-FBI Director James Comey announced he was reopening the criminal probe into Clinton's email server,

which didn't lead to any criminal charges.

The polls shifted (https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-comey-letter-probably-cost-clinton-the-election/) after Comey's comments, and

Clinton has said it was a main reason for her defeat.

==============

General Flynn Should WITHDRAW His Guilty Plea. His New Judge Is A Government Misconduct Expert

Extraordinary manipulation by powerful people led to the creation of Robert Mueller’s continuing investigation and prosecution of General Michael Flynn. Notably, the recent postponement of General Flynn’s sentencing provides an opportunity for more evidence to be revealed that will provide massive ammunition for a motion to withdraw Flynn’s guilty plea and dismiss the charges against him.

It was Judge Rudolph Contreras who accepted General Flynn’s guilty plea, but he suddenly was recused from the case. The likely reason is that Judge Contreras served on the special court that allowed the Federal Bureau of Investigation to surveil the Trump campaign based on the dubious FISA application. Judge Contreras may have approved one of those four warrants.

The judge assigned to Flynn’s case now is Emmet G. Sullivan. Judge Sullivan immediately issued what is called a “Brady” order requiring Mueller to provide Flynn all information that is favorable to the defense whether with respect to guilt or punishment. Just today, Mueller’s team filed an agreed motion to provide discovery to General Flynn under a protective order so that it can be reviewed by counsel but not disclosed otherwise.

This development is huge. Prosecutors almost never provide this kind of information to a defendant before he enters a plea — much less after he has done so. This is one of myriad problems in our justice system. As Judge Jed Rakoff wrote several years ago, people who are innocent enter guilty pleas every day. They simply can no longer withstand the unimaginable stress of a criminal investigation. They and their families suffer sheer exhaustion in every form — financial, physical, mental, and emotional. Add in a little prosecutorial duress — like the threat of indicting your son — and, presto, there’s a guilty plea.

Judge Sullivan is the perfect judge to decide General Flynn’s motion. The judicial hero of my book, Emmet Sullivan held federal prosecutors in contempt for failing to disclose evidence, dismissed the corrupted prosecution of Alaska Senator Ted Stevens and appointed a special prosecutor to investigate the Department of Justice.

That independent counsel, Henry Schuelke, issued a scathing report finding systematic, intentional and pervasive misconduct in the Department of (In)Justice. He identified the prosecution’s deliberate concealment of evidence favorable to the defense. That is why Judge Sullivan both issues such Brady orders in each of his cases and encourages every other judge in the country to do the same.

Emmet G. Sullivan is one judge who is ready, willing and able to hold Mr. Mueller accountable to the law and who has the wherewithal to dismiss the case against General Flynn — for egregious government misconduct — if Mueller doesn’t move to dismiss it himself.

Judge Sullivan’s experience can only help General Flynn as more evidence appears every day to reveal that Flynn should not have been prosecuted. James Comey testified to Congress that the agents who interviewed Flynn — including the hopelessly compromised Peter Strzok — thought Flynn was telling the truth. The entire FISA warrant application becomes more problematic by the day.

Within the next six weeks, we will probably have the bombshell report of Michael Horowitz, the Inspector General for the Department of Justice. He is the one who discovered the Strzok-Page emails, and he has been investigating the FBI and DOJ in their Clinton cover-up for the last year.

Since Flynn entered his guilty plea, we’ve learned that information Mr. Comey leaked deliberately to “trigger” Robert Mueller’s entire investigation was classified. Also, FBI agents Peter Strzok, Lisa Page and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe were working on an “insurance policy” to protect the country against a Trump presidency. It seems plausible that this “insurance policy” included the appointment of a special prosecutor.

Indeed, the bases for throwing out everything Robert Mueller has touched grow exponentially as more truth finds sunlight.

Watching guilty pleas evaporate is nothing new for Mr. Mueller’s favored lieutenant Andrew Weissmann. Along with his Enron Task Force comrade Leslie Caldwell, Weissmann terrorized Arthur Andersen partner David Duncan into pleading guilty.

Weissmann and Caldwell made Duncan testify at length against Arthur Andersen when they destroyed the company and 85,000 jobs only to be reversed by a unanimous Supreme Court three years later. Turns out, the “crime” they “convinced” Mr. Duncan to plead guilty to was not a crime at all. The court allowed Duncan to withdraw his plea. And, that was not the only Weissmann-induced plea to be withdrawn either. Just ask Christopher Calger.

Judge Sullivan is the country’s premiere jurist experienced in the abuses of our Department of Justice. He knows a cover-up when he sees one. Until the Department is cleaned out with Clorox and firehoses, along with its “friends” at the FBI, Judge Sullivan is the best person to confront the egregious government misconduct that has led to and been perpetrated by the Mueller-Weissmann “investigation” and to right the injustices that have arisen from it. Stay tuned for the fireworks.

i dont think i ever said i thought there would be a finding of collusion. in fact i said i doubted anything would turn up, iirc.

it was a legitimate investigation founded on an adequate predicate, and would have been a lot shorter and quieter if trump and his people didnt actively lie and obstruct at every opportunity.

so actually, i was bang on

and FISA abuse :lol props tbh
ive always said that if things were done inappropriately, that people should be punished. i welcomed the OIG investigation. what i didnt buy were the deep state coup conspiracies where they invented an investigation out of thin air at the orders of obama to spy on trump's campaign, etc.

that was just about completely vindicated. they did find plenty of wrongdoing in the fisa process, which i've already acknowledged, but dont change the big picture question of the FBI being weaponized against trump... which didnt happen

Supposing an abuse of power -- like a President using the FBI to spy on a political campaign -- only came to light after he/she left office, wouldn't it make sense to prevent that person from holding office again?

Ulysses S. Grant's Sec'y of War William Belknap was impeached post-resignation, even went to trial.

Too little too late, and Mueller recommending no jail time happened before the sudden change of heart. We’ll see now what his sentence looks like. I would still wager it will be lenient considering he’s a first timer, IIRC

How Sorry Is Michael Flynn That He Hired This Nutbag Lawyer?
https://www.wonkette.com/how-sorry-is-michael-flynn-that-he-hired-this-nutbag-lawyer

:rollin

Flynn still in major trouble.

------------------------------------------------

Judge Sullivan was singularly unimpressed with "[d]efense counsel's theory" that "[t]he evidence the defense requests, if produced, would defeat the factual basis for the plea." Moreover, he strongly implied throughout the 92-page ruling that the evidence sought would prove inculpatory to Flynn, rather than exculpatory, saying, "To the extent he seeks information in addition to what has already been provided, Mr. Flynn has failed to establish the first component of his Brady claim: favorability."

Flynn won't be able to claim a conflict of interest with his former attorneys at Covington after having waived it on multiple occasions, and he won't be allowed to leverage the court to get documents from the FBI to defend himself against the "smear" that he's a Russian agent, since that's not what he's charged with. Which is a blow to Sidney Powell, who was sure that Judge Sullivan, the hero of her book License to Lie, who threw out the case against Alaska Senator Ted Stevens based on prosecutorial misconduct, would see things her way.

Alas not.

This case is not United States v. Theodore F. Stevens, the case that Mr. Flynn relies on throughout his briefing. In that case, the Court granted the government's motion to dismiss, and the government admitted that it had committed Brady violations and made misrepresentations to the Court. Even if Mr. Flynn established a Brady violation in this case, dismissal would be unwarranted because "[t]he remedy for a Brady violation is retrial, not dismissal." [Internal citations omitted.]
Adding insult to injury, in a section headed "Ethical Concerns with Mr. Flynn's Brief," Sullivan accused Powell of failing to adhere to professional standards by inadequately citing an amicus brief as her source material, saying, "The Court notes that Mr. Flynn's brief in support of his first Brady motion lifted verbatim portions from a source without attribution." There's a legitimate argument to be made that Powell's conduct is pretty standard in the legal community. But there's no argument that this decision was anything but a total repudiation of both Powell's legal reasoning and her courtroom strategy. Flynn might wind up getting a pardon from Donald Trump, but he's sure as hell not getting a walk from Judge Emmet Sullivan.

See you at sentencing on January 28, Sidney!

Anti-Putin activist ‘forcibly drafted’ and sent to Arctic base

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny said Wednesday that one of his allies

had been forcibly conscripted and sent to serve at a remote Arctic base, in a move his supporters said amounted to kidnapping.

Ruslan Shaveddinov, a project manager at Navalny’s anti-corruption foundation, went missing Monday after

police broke into his Moscow flat and his phone’s SIM card was disabled.

Russia agents raid Alexei Navalny offices with power tools

https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/660/cpsprodpb/4A2E/production/_110309981_058812979-1.jpg

Russian security forces have raided the premises of opposition leader Alexei Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation, taking laptops and other equipment.

CCTV video posted online shows sparks flying as the door is forced open.

Mr Navalny linked the raid to his

refusal to comply with a court order to delete a 2017 online film accusing Russia's prime minister of corruption.
The 43-year-old opposition leader says he was dragged out of the office, but he was not detained.

His foundation was declared a "foreign agent" by the Russian justice ministry (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-49986016) in October, making it subject to more checks.

Thursday's raid came a day after Mr Navalny condemned the forcible conscription of one of his allies (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-50912822)to serve at a military base in the Arctic.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-50916198

Steele dossier details a sustained relationship, with information flowing both ways, and meetings between Trump campaign and various levels of campaign officials.

Trump himself asked Russia for help, publically, in a press conference, about the very same email and dirt all these other jackasses had meetings about.

Certainly looks at this point that we have evidence the information sharing did in fact go both ways, with the Russians getting detailed voter data, so that they could direct and target their efforts to sway the election, with some small amount of Hillary information coming back, with promises of more "dirt".

Trump himself continues to act like someone compromised, meeting Putin at every opportunity he can, so that he can have discussions away from any witnesses, and having his scheduled meetings go hours over schedule.

Trump is acting guilty as all fuck.

Stay blind to that. It will make all the shit that is going to come out much sweeter.

There's no indication any information in the dossier would be considered or was needed at all -- and if it was, there is much more valid information in the dossier than you would wish. FISA standards are higher than you wish them to be, and the process the FBI goes through to meet those standards is more stringent than you wish it to be. Fresh Cambridge Analytica leak ‘shows global manipulation is out of control’

Company’s work in 68 countries laid bare with release of more than 100,000 documents

the Observer revealed it had misappropriated 87 million Facebook profiles (https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/apr/08/facebook-to-contact-the-87-million-users-affected-by-data-breach).

the global infrastructure of an operation used to manipulate voters on “an industrial scale” is set to be released over the next months.

Christopher Steele (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/nov/15/christopher-steele-trump-russia-dossier-accurate) siaid that ... while the company had closed down,

the failure to properly punish bad actors meant that the prospects for manipulation of the US election this year were even worse.

documents were revealed to have come from Brittany Kaiser (https://www.theguardian.com/books/2019/oct/29/mindfck-christopher-wylie-targeted-brittany-kaiser-cambridge-analytica-review), an ex-Cambridge Analytica employee turned whistleblower,

“It’s so abundantly clear our electoral systems are wide open to abuse,” she said.

“I’m very fearful about what is going to happen in the US election later this year, and

I think one of the few ways of protecting ourselves is to get as much information out there as possible.”

there were thousands and thousands more pages which showed

a “breadth and depth of the work” that went “way beyond what people think they know about ‘the Cambridge Analytica (https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/cambridge-analytica) scandal’”.

“on our current trajectory these problems are likely to get worse, not better, and

with crucial 2020 elections in America and elsewhere approaching,

this is a very scary prospect.

Something radical needs to be done about it, and fast.” :lol not if Moscow Bitch McConnell is on the job :lol

authorities in the west had failed to punish those practising social and other media manipulation, and

“the result will be that while CA may have been exposed and eventually shut down,

other, even more sophisticated actors will have been emboldened to interfere in our elections and sow social divisions”.

Kaiser said the

Facebook data scandal was part of a much bigger

global operation that worked with

governments,
intelligence agencies,
commercial companies and
political campaigns

to manipulate and influence people, and

that raised huge national security implications.

“There are emails between these major Trump donors discussing ways of obscuring the source of their donations through a series of different financial vehicles.

These documents expose the entire dark money machinery behind US politics.”

what had been revealed was “the tip of the iceberg”.

“The documents reveal a much clearer idea of

what actually happened in the 2016 US presidential election,

which has a huge bearing on what will happen in 2020.

It’s the same people involved who we know are building on these same techniques,” she said.
“There’s evidence of really

quite disturbing experiments on American voters,

manipulating them with fear-based messaging, targeting the most vulnerable,

that seems to be continuing.

This is an entire global industry that’s out of control but what

this does is lay out what was happening with this one company.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/jan/04/cambridge-analytica-data-leak-global-election-manipulation (https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/jan/04/cambridge-analytica-data-leak-global-election-manipulation)

Explosive report indicates that Donald Trump's loans from Deutsche Bank were backed by Russia (https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2020/1/3/1909205/-Explosive-report-indicates-that-Donald-Trump-s-loans-from-Deutsche-Bank-were-back-by-Russia)

https://images.dailykos.com/images/480686/story_image/GettyImages-509339634.jpg?1512512975

According to Forensic News (http://forensicnews.net/2019/12/30/trump-deutsche-bank-loans-underwritten-by-russian-state-owned-bank-whistleblower-told-fbi/),

Trump’s loans from Deutsche Bank were underwritten by a Russian state-owned bank.

That news reportedly comes from a whistleblower with access to documents from both Deutsche Bank and Russia’s state-owned VTB Bank.

VTB Bank was also the proposed lender on the never-completed Trump Tower Moscow project.

The question of why Deutsche Bank would extend a series of huge loans to Trump has been dangling

When Trump first went to Deutsche Bank, he was worse than broke.

He had just finished bankrupting multiple casinos in New Jersey, and

then had convinced investors to back a takeover of those casinos at a fraction of the original value.

Then Trump deliberately allowed the investment group to go bankrupt so he could grab the whole deal himself at a fraction of what his investors had paid.

Then he went bankrupt.

Again.

And along the way he was socked with a massive fine for money laundering at his now bankrupt (again) casino.

Trump was so fiscally radioactive that no American bank would let him in the door.

But Deutsche Bank turned around and gifted Trump with loans that gave him a fresh start and

an apparently miracle turnaround of his New York real estate empire.

Those loans have always been the subject of head-scratching over just what Deutsche Bank could have been thinking.

what Deutsche Bank was thinking was that it wasn’t risking a damn thing,

because the Russian government was actually vouching for Trump through VTB Bank.

If Trump didn’t come through, Vladimir Putin was offering to make it good.

Trump lost the fight against the congressional subpoena at the district level and in two appeals,

with all judges decisively siding with Congress’ authority to request the records.

That the Supreme Court agreed to hear the case is very unusual,

both because there was no conflict among rulings by lower courts and

because the Supreme Court tends to avoid most cases involving a conflict between the executive and legislative branches.

Much of Trump’s “recovery” depended on selling apartments and buildings to Russian oligarchs at far above market prices.

Those deals have always suggested the same kind of money laundering that added to the conviction of Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort, but

if these accusations are accurate, Russia did far more for Trump than buy his gilded condos.

this would show that Donald

Trump was 100% dependent on the Russian government for his “big comeback.”

It would mean that

he was completely beholden to Putin

for his real estate,

for his golf courses,

for his candidacy—

for everything.

Michael Flynn should get up to 6 months in jail for lying to FBI, prosecutors say

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump's first national security adviser Michael Flynn should serve up to six months in jail, prosecutors told a federal judge on Tuesday, saying Flynn has failed to accept responsibility for his actions and undermined a separate criminal case.

The sentencing memo shows just how harshly the Justice Department responds to Flynn's recent attempts to unravel his guilty plea in the Mueller investigation and says that he sought to thwart the government's investigation into his former business partner, an abrupt turn from Flynn's months of cooperation and public reticence during the special counsel's probe.
"It is clear that the defendant has not learned his lesson," the Justice Department wrote. "He has behaved as though the law does not apply to him, and as if there are no consequences for his actions."
Flynn, 61, is set to be sentenced on January 28, more than two years since he pleaded guilty to lying to federal investigators.
"Given the serious nature of the defendant's offense, his apparent failure to accept responsibility, his failure to complete his cooperation in -- and his affirmative efforts to undermine -- the prosecution of Bijan Rafiekian (also known as Bijan Kian) and the need to promote respect for the law and adequately deter such criminal conduct," prosecutors wrote, recommending between zero and six months in jail.

Btw, that means Flynn Jr is in legal jeopardy. Because Flynn made the deal in part to save his son from FARA violations. Dumb fuck

Either he knows there’s no pardon or he knows more trouble ahead for him. Or both

That hearing where he reaffirmed his guilty plea will be super difficult to overcome. He's gonna have to say he perjured his ass off that day or was insane or on really strong meds or something.

It's quite a gamble on its face. Doesn't make much sense as a pardon has to be in the future.

eh. he's withdrawing on the grounds that the government breached the plea deal, and their brief cited some precedent for that.

Alright, Chris -- explain how he gets exonerated after pleading guilty twice in open court under oath.

Step up.

No memes.

It's going to be difficult for Flynn since he already plead guilty to lying. Unless this 'exculpatory evidence' can be construed to have made him lie, there's really not much to go on there.

lol

I mentioned this a few weeks ago when the usual conspiratards were advancing new theories presented by Flynn’s new attorney: it’s difficult to claim you’ve been misled after asserting twice in front of different judges that you lied.

Too little too late, and Mueller recommending no jail time happened before the sudden change of heart. We’ll see now what his sentence looks like. I would still wager it will be lenient considering he’s a first timer, IIRC

Eyup.

The dude took on an idiot for a lawyer, the kind of idiot that buys into conspiracy theories and pushes them on social media, which is probably how she came into his orbit.

Always funny to watch what happens when conspiracy idiots encounter a place where evidence and facts matter.

They never do well. (think Kolbach's "voter fraud" fiasco)

Winehole23

The correct reading of this is probably that the motion to withdraw his plea is more MAGA-facing than legally sincere.

Winehole23
01-15-2020, 11:18 AM
After all, if the motion succeeds, the plea deal goes poof and Flynn faces hard time upon conviction at trial. You can just bet the US Att'y has a pocket full of superceding charges too.

In that instance, Flynn could be charged with crimes far more serious than lying to investigators, that's probably why he pled out to start with. That and no charges for Flynn Jr. Presumably that hazard would also be revived.

Bottom line is, after tens of thousands of posts:

Flynn is still in major trouble.

He was working as an agent of Turkey, undeclared. When Judge Jackson asked prosecutors if what Flynn did was tantamount to treason, it wasn't idle speculation.
