TSA literally doesn't understand Trump's lawyers did not want that memo out there because it shows intent.Would have to see the exact words of the memo. Howeveah, the "great pressure" comment after the act is reason enough to follow that trail. Trump's compulsion to mansplain everything could do him in.

"People familiar with the letter said Trump provided the contents of the letter, which was formally drawn up by Miller at Bedminster. They said it did not dwell on Russia."

Mueller has other ideas about what is and what is not obstruction of justice. You nor I know what he actually has.

You're being selective in picking what you want to highlight. It's a two way street.

The letter, which was first reported by the New York Times, as well as internal White House communications before Comey’s ouster, could now become key evidence for Mueller as he examines whether the Comey firing was part of an effort to obstruct the Russia investigation. The contents of the letter were described in detail by several people who had read versions of it.

It's already known that Mueller is indeed looking at the posibility of obstruction of justice by Trump so I dont know why you're acting like this isn't a thing already happening anyway.

The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said.

Republicans upset that FBI investigation showed Hillary was innocent earlier than expected (https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/9/1/1695233/-Republicans-upset-that-FBI-investigation-showed-Hillary-was-innocent-earlier-than-expected)

they think they’ve come up with a club (http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/31/politics/comey-clinton-investigation/index.html)that can used against both Clinton and former FBI Director James Comey.

Former FBI Director James Comey drafted a statement exonerating former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for running her government emails through a private email server before completing the investigation, according to two Republican senators.

The cause for the latest Comey-was-too-kind crisis?

The astounding discovery that Comey wrote earlier drafts of his July statement.

A perfectly ordinary procedure which is, of course, being taken in a perfectly ordinary way.

(https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump)Donald J. Trump (https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump)
(https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump)✔@realDonaldTrump (https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump)

Wow, looks like James Comey exonerated Hillary Clinton long before the investigation was over...and so much more. A rigged system!
6:56 AM - Sep 1, 2017 (https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/903587428488839170)

In fact, it appears that Comey — who did not personally lead the investigation into Clinton —

began circulating drafts of his statement to the investigation team as early as May for their feedback.

The reason: Everything they had told him was leading to the outcome that there was going to be no criminal finding.

At the time the note first circulated, investigators still hadn’t talked with Clinton, but it seemed obvious how things were going. (http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/31/politics/comey-clinton-investigation/index.html)

The person said back in spring 2016, agents and Justice Department officials were talking about how the investigation would end and there was a belief that the evidence was going in a direction to not support bringing charges.

This individual said by April 2016 the FBI had reviewed most of the evidence and didn't find evidence suggesting that Clinton had violated federal law.

The person said the FBI wanted to interview her but didn't believe it was going to change the outcome.

Russian Election Hacking Efforts, Wider Than Previously Known, Draw Little Scrutiny

Most of the complaints came from Durham, a blue-leaning county in a swing state.

She knew that the company that provided Durham’s software, VR Systems, had been penetrated by Russian hackers months before.
“It felt like tampering, or some kind of cyberattack,”

But months later, for Ms. Greenhalgh, other election security experts and some state officials, questions still linger about what happened that day in Durham as well as other counties in North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and Arizona.

local, state and federal agencies have conducted little of the type of digital forensic investigation required to assess the impact, if any, on voting in at least 21 states whose election systems were targeted by Russian hackers,

The assaults on the vast back-end election apparatus — voter-registration operations, state and local election databases, e-poll books and other equipment — have received far less attention than other aspects of the Russian interference,

Beyond VR Systems, hackers breached at least two other providers of critical election services well ahead of the 2016 voting,

Government officials said that they intentionally did not address the security of the back-end election systems, whose disruption could prevent voters from even casting ballots.

That’s partly because states control elections; they have fewer resources than the federal government but have long been loath to allow even cursory federal intrusions into the voting process.

That, along with legal constraints on intelligence agencies’ involvement in domestic issues, has hobbled any broad examination of Russian efforts to compromise American election systems.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/01/us/politics/russia-election-hacking.html?
module=ArrowsNav&contentCollection=Politics&action=keypress&region=FixedLeft&pgtype=article (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/01/us/politics/russia-election-hacking.html?module=ArrowsNav&contentCollection=Politics&action=keypress&region=FixedLeft&pgtype=article)

Putin and his hacking legions obviously think the hicks, rednecks, bubbas, who run state election systems are incompetent, ignorant, vulnerable idiots

Sources Just Revealed Mueller Is Dueling With Congressional Republicans Over His Russia Probe

Conflicts among those involved in the Russia hacking probe are giving Donald Trump cover and dragging out the investigations, which is what the president wants.

One problem is that the Senate and House committees run by Republicans have held private hearings with former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and are soon to hear from Donald Trump Jr. but there are barriers preventing the sharing of what they have learned with Mueller.

Mueller has been urging the House and Senate Intelligence Committees to hold more hearings in public so that he doesn’t have to fight to access the transcripts – which is a problem that has already become a flash point over Manafort’s previous testimony.

Devin Nunes Just Blew Up At The Attorney General And FBI Director Over Russia Dossier

embattled Congressman Devin Nunes (R-CA), threatened to hold Attorney General Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Chris Wray in contempt of Congress for not relinquishing documents and transcripts of testimony relevant to the infamous Christopher Steel/Fusion GPS dossier (https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/3259984-Trump-Intelligence-Allegations.html)on Trump’s Russia connections by the September 1 deadline.

it remains unclear why Nunes in particular should feel such intense personal desire to see anything and everything “memorializing FBI’s relationship with Mr. Steele, any payments made to Mr. Steele, and efforts to corroborate information provided by Mr. Steele and his sub-sources — whether directly or via Fusion GPS.”

Nunes is the congressman and former Trump campaign surrogate who had to step down from the House Ethics Committee (http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-pol-ca-nunes-intelligence-committee-20170525-story.html) after facing serious scrutiny in the spring for alerting Trump to intelligence reports tying the Trump campaign to Russia.

Circumstantial evidence is evidence that relies on an inference to connect it to a conclusion of fact—like a fingerprint at the scene of a crime. By contrast, direct evidence supports the truth of an assertion directly—i.e., without need for any additional evidence or inference.

On its own, circumstantial evidence allows for more than one explanation. Different pieces of circumstantial evidence may be required, so that each corroborates the conclusions drawn from the others. Together, they may more strongly support one particular inference over another. An explanation involving circumstantial evidence becomes more likely once alternative explanations have been ruled out[citation needed].

Circumstantial evidence allows a trier of fact to infer that a fact exists.[1] In criminal law, the inference is made by the trier of fact in order to support the truth of an assertion (of guilt or absence of guilt).

Testimony can be direct evidence or it can be circumstantial. For instance, a witness saying that she saw a defendant stab a victim is providing direct evidence. By contrast, a witness who says that she saw the defendant enter a house, that she heard screaming, and that she saw the defendant leave with a bloody knife gives circumstantial evidence. It is the necessity for inference, and not the obviousness of a conclusion, that determines whether evidence is circumstantial.

Your move, Putin'spet.

But then, predicting what Trump will, or won't do is sort of a mugs game. He never fails to do the stupidest shit possible, just when you think he can't be dumber.

The thing about a good theory though, it that it both explains facts, and you can make testable predictions.

Fact 1:
Russia attempted to hack our electoral process through a multi-pronged attack.

Fact 2:
Donald "look how big my inauguration crowd was" Trump has done nothing but deny this even happened. He has shown no willingness whatsoever to hold Russia to account for anything.

Fact 3:
Donald Trump has a pattern of criticizing anyone, and everyone at the drop of a hat. Allies, enemies, courts, free press, nothing has escaped his remarks and twitter feed, except for ONE/(two) thing(s), and that is Russia/Putin

Fact 4:
Russian efforts appeared designed to support Trump

Fact 5:
Trump directly called on Russia publicly to support his efforts to get elected.

Fact 6:
Donald Trump has gone out of his way to meet and talk with Putin privately in person, with no American witnesses. This is the only leader with which he has acted in this manner.

Theory:
Donald Trump has been compromised in some way. Either he directly owes them money, or they have evidence of some kind of him breaking the law or doing something he does not want others to know about.

This theory explains those facts, and is fully consistent with observed reality.

Prediction:
Donald Trump will take no action personally, nor will he criticize Russia or Putin in any way in regards to the Russian attack on our elections. He may allow his underlings to do some minor, inconsequential stuff, and if forced to do anything by Congress will drag his feet, if not outright attempt to veto any sanctions.

The way to falsify the theory:
1) Trump criticizes Putin/Russia (good)
2) Trump orders/takes action that materially harms Russian interests (definitive)

Bullshit conspiracy theories fail very often because either: they cannot be falsified, or they directly conflict with observed reality. This theory can be falsified, and does not conflict with what we know as fact.

Donald Trump is unpredictable except for Russia.

He may be stupid enough to fire Mueller if Mueller starts asking questions that will expose how he has been compromised.

If he does so, he will be impeached. The Republican party will have almost no choice at that point. Congress will find their spine, because they want to be re-elected, and Trump will have gone too far for all but the most jaded hacks.

"Trump warns of 'dangerous low' in Russia relations"

See Fact #3

http://edition.cnn.com/2017/08/03/politics/russia-us-trump-putin-sanctions/

I find the use of the term "dangerous" to be somewhat telling.

He has repeatedly shown the only thing he is ever genuinely concerned about is himself.

At some point, if the Russians do have compromising material, they might decide to release it. From Trump's selfish perspective, bad relations would vastly increase the danger of that material being made public.

One also has to wonder that after Trump is no longer useful to Russia, when that material will find its way into the light of day.

Once Trump is no longer useful to Putin, then it would be in Russia's interests to release it, since the ensuing scandal would presumably damage US democracy, a chief Russian aim.

If the material were personal in nature, i.e. tapes with prostitutes, it would be pretty easy for them to release it at no cost to themselves.

If the material implicated Russians, such as money laundering that would less likely to be released, unless of course the Russian involved were already disgraced or removed from power.

Proof that investigating Trump is starting to backfire for Democrats

https://thenypost.files.wordpress.com/2017/09/storm-harvey_trump1.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=664&h=441&crop=1

There’s a lot going on in the Hillary Clinton/Donald Trump/Russia investigation that all the highfalutin’ newspapers that cover politics are still trying to ignore.

Well, investors had better know this stuff before it bites them in the assets. So here goes.

Numerous reports coming out of the Senate Judiciary Committee last week said that former FBI Director James Comey made the decision not to refer Clinton for prosecution long before he even interviewed key witnesses, including Hillary.

Remember, the Republicans now control this committee. So bad news isn’t going to be stifled anymore.

Clinton, you probably remember, “lost” her private emails, which she’d been storing on a personal computer server. Comey chastised her harshly in a televised speech but then said there was a unanimous decision not to recommend prosecution.

Clinton’s emails, which were stolen by the Russians, have never been found. But as I’ve mentioned numerous times, the messages are still in the possession of the National Security Agency (NSA), which offered to give them to the FBI.

Comey turned down that offer, according to a source who has been very reliable.

I’ve also mentioned that Comey fibbed when he said his agents unanimously agreed that prosecution was unnecessary. In fact, my source says that FBI agents were irate about the decision not to go after Clinton.

The controversy got pretty intense, which may be why Comey forced agents who worked on the Clinton matter to sign additional nondisclosure agreements.

There was another important development last week when a federal judge ordered the FBI to disclose more details about how it handled the Clinton investigation. That could put Comey in a hotter spot than he’s already in.

What’s this got to do with the investigation of Trump and any influence the Russians may have had over the last presidential election? Absolutely nothing.

But as I’ve said before, any investigation of Trump was likely to backfire when investigators started to look at the Democrats and their dealings.

And that’s exactly what is starting to happen.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/steve-bannon-comey-charlie-rose_us_59b5e0cfe4b0b5e531070b47?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=__TheMorningEmail__091117&utm_content=__TheMorningEmail__091117+CID_50776ccd 9f408542e04d35cbe0109037&utm_source=Email%20marketing%20software&utm_term=HuffPost&ncid=newsltushpmgnews__TheMorningEmail__091117

nope, I think Manafort and Flynn were already in FBI's GUN SIGHTS before Comey was fired, pulling on those threads would have led Comey to Trash.

Firing Comey only kicked the hornet's nest that was already buzzing loudly.

Trash's intelllectual and emotional retardations render him truly stupid and ignorant.

Firing Comey? What was he thinking?

How Russia Created the Most Popular Texas Secession Page on Facebook

One other arena these actors may have targeted: secession movements within the U.S. At this point, it’s little secret that a number of American secession movements?—?including Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and both white and black nationalists?—?have constructed links with Russian actors, including those funded by the Kremlin.

Moscow’s ties to the California secession movement, which received a boost following Donald Trump’s election, have seen the greatest coverage?—?understandably so, given the former #Calexit leader’s willingness to highlight his links to the Moscow-funded Anti-Globalization Movement of Russia (AGMR) at every turn.

#Calexit was further “amplified by many of the same accounts that infiltrated conservative Twitter communities and promoted a pro-Trump, white nationalist agenda.”

I put together a piece for POLITICO Magazine detailing the ties between Lone Star secessionists and Russia, dovetailing off a recent visit from the Texas “foreign minister” to St. Petersburg, where the Texan turned to Russian media to fan the flames of secession.

As local Russian officials were threatening to deliver arms to Mexico (and unidentified “guerrillas”)

to allow Mexico City to reclaim Texas,

Texas secessionists themselves were finding sympathetic ears in Moscow.

And that’s where the evidence, as of mid-2017, stood, as it pertained to Moscow’s links with Texas separatism.

Funding for travel to,

and organizing in, Moscow;

plumping support in Russian-backed outlets like RT and Sputnik;

odd comments about funding Mexican guerrillas to claim lands lost.

Member of Duma admits ‘Russian intelligence stole the president of the United States’ on live TV

Writing on Axios (https://www.axios.com/russian-politician-says-russia-stole-u-s-presidency-on-live-tv-2484056561.html), Becca Rotenberg said the comments were made by Vyacheslav Nikonov on the Russian TV show, “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov.”

According to Julia Davis, writing on Twitter, “#Russia (https://twitter.com/hashtag/Russia?src=hash)‘s state TV mocks American intelligence services: MP Vyacheslav Nikonov says

U.S. spies slept while Russia elected a U.S. President.”
Clarifying the comment, Nikonov reportedly blurted U.S. “intelligence missed it when Russian intelligence stole the president of the United States.”

The Hill (http://thehill.com/policy/cybersecurity/350040-russian-pol-us-intelligence-missed-it-while-russian-intelligence-stole) notes that the panel Nikonov was participating on focused on the diminishing power of the United States on the world stage.

Another day; another boom

Russian operatives hiding behind false identities used Facebook’s event management tool to remotely organize and promote political protests in the U.S., including an August 2016 anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim rally in Idaho, The Daily Beast has learned. […]

The Facebook events—one of which echoed Islamophobic conspiracy theories pushed by pro-Trump media outlets—are the first indication that the Kremlin’s attempts to shape America’s political discourse moved beyond fake news and led unwitting Americans into specific real-life action.

“This is the next step,” Clint Watts, a former FBI agent and expert on Russia’s influence campaign, told The Daily Beast. “The objective of influence is to create behavior change. The simplest behavior is to have someone disseminate propaganda that Russia created and seeded. The second part of behavior influence is when you can get people to physically do something.”

“Due to the town of Twin Falls, Idaho, becoming a center of refugee resettlement, which led to the huge upsurge of violence towards American citizens, it is crucial to draw society’s attention to this problem … “

DAMN.

Just … DAMN.

The event host was called “SecuredBorders,” and it was a Russian front. On top of the Alex Jones exclusives on the Great Idaho Refugee Yogurt Rapes that led up to the event, the Daily Beast notes that Dead Breitbart also wrote many “news” blog posts about the Idaho situation. Dead Breitbart has not yet apologized to yogurt.

NOW do people see why Robert Mueller is investigating Breitbart and InfoWars and looking into Russian bots and Russian military intelligence buying Facebook ads and all that hullabaloo? Because shit is real and an enemy nation literally was (and is) all up in our American business, inciting far right racists and pushing fake Hillary news to Bernie supporters, to sow loathing (it worked!) and install their puppet in the White House.

In related news, the FBI is reportedly investigating the Russian state-owned Sputnik media organization, to see if it was working directly for the Kremlin as part of Russia’s disinformation campaign during the election. We have a feeling we are just barely starting to scratch the surface of the Russian digital operation that helped sway the election in the unqualified orange fuckseed’s direction.

Of course, Mueller is also probing First Son-In-Law Prince Jared Kushner’s role in the Trump-Russia conspiracy. Kushner oversaw the Trump campaign’s digital operation, and he met with a metric shitload of Russians during the campaign and the transition too. How odd! Wonder if that has anything to do with why some of Donald Trump’s lawyers reportedly wanted Kushner to quit his White House job because of his role in the Russia investigation.

Is it possible these things are all connected?

Russia probes pose loyalty test for Team Trump

Current and former White House aides caught up in the probe are being advised by their attorneys to tell the truth – even if that might hurt the president.

Lawyers representing Donald Trump’s current and former aides are giving their clients one simple piece of advice: Don’t lie to protect the president.

As special counsel Robert Mueller and congressional investigators prepare to question high-ranking aides — including Hope Hicks, Reince Priebus and Sean Spicer — in the coming weeks, Trump’s long history of demanding his employees’ complete loyalty is being put to the test.

But Trump stalwarts know the president is closely following the media coverage of the Russia case — and the last thing they want is to be deemed a turncoat whose answers end up becoming further fuel for investigators.

Several of the lawyers representing current and former aides told POLITICO they’re actively warning their clients that any bonds connecting them to Trump won’t protect them from criminal charges if federal prosecutors can nail them for perjury, making false statements or obstruction of justice.

“What I always tell clients is you can’t protect anybody. You can only hurt yourself,”

said a lawyer representing a client involved in the Russia probe. The attorney added that any overt attempts to protect Trump will raise wider suspicions of a cover-up, making matters “worse for everybody.”

“Efforts to concoct a story to protect somebody are almost inevitably doomed to failure,”

the attorney explained.

“All you do is create liability to yourself that didn’t exist before.”

Trump’s Press Secretary Just Urged The Justice Department To Prosecute Fired FBI Director Comey
the White House is ramping up its war of words to discredit Comey, charging that he needs to be investigated and possibly punished.

Responding to a question (http://www.politico.com/story/2017/09/12/justice-department-james-comey-prosecution-sarah-sanders-242605) about former White House Chief Strategist Steven Bannon’s insistence on 60 Minutes that Trump’s firing of Comey was a huge mistake, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said today that in light of new revelations,

the President stands firmly behind his decision to fire the FBI Director.

“Since the director’s firing,” said Sanders, according to Fox News (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/09/11/new-pressure-on-comey-to-return-to-capitol-hill-as-white-house-accuses-him-false-testimony.html), “we’ve learned new information about his conduct that only provided further justification for that firing.”

Sanders charged Comey (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/white-house-justice-department-should-certainly-look-at-prosecuting-former-fbi-director-james-comey/article/2634176) gave “false testimony” to Congress, which is perjury, but said it is not the president’s role or her job to investigate whether he broke the law by leaking classified information and giving false testimony before Congress while under oath.

“That’s the job of the Department of Justice,” said Sanders, “and something they should certainly look at.”

Sanders was asked if the White House wanted to see Comey investigated.

“I think if there’s ever a moment where we feel someone’s broken the law,” answered Sanders, “particularly if they’re the head of the FBI, I think that’s something that certainly should be looked at.”

In an obvious effort to discredit Comey and justify his firing, the White House has previously charged that the former FBI Director acted illegally when he had a friend share memos about conversations with Trump with the New York Times, as he acknowledged in July in testimony before Congress.

This is all part of an

ongoing White House campaign to justify the firing of Comey and discredit him in advance of any actions by Mueller

to claim the firing was really an obstruction of justice by the president out of fear of the Russia investigation.

This drumbeat of suspicion which Trump wants to

plant that Comey is the real criminal is going to continue,

but the reality is that like the investigation into Secretary Clinton’s private email server,

it is just a distraction.

The surprising new strategy of pro-Russia bots

Co-ordinated groups of Twitter bots pushing pro-Russian propaganda have developed an odd but occasionally effective strategy - retweeting messages that the bot-makers disagree with and flooding their enemies with followers.

Brian Krebs is an investigative journalist with a big social media following. But even he was surprised when one of his tweets was retweeted thousands of times:

"I woke up the next morning and found about 12,000 retweets... I also found I had about the same number of new followers," he told BBC Trending radio. "Part of me wanted this to be true [and all the followers to be real]."

Krebs, who wrote about the experience on his blog (https://krebsonsecurity.com/2017/08/twitter-bots-use-likes-rts-for-intimidation/), immediately suspected he'd been on the receiving end of a bot attack.

Bots - automated or semi-automated accounts which tweet or retweet automatically - have been at the centre of allegations of Russian interference in Western elections. US intelligence agencies claim that bots spread false news stories and misinformation during the 2016 presidential election campaign.

And networks of bots were also involved in spreading memes, gifs and misinformation in the run-up to the French presidential election in spring 2017.

The Russian government denies that they operate or fund bot networks. And there's no definitive evidence connecting botnets, even if they do push pro-Russia stories, to the Kremlin. The pro-Russian bots could be operated, as President Vladimir Putin once put it, by "patriotic" Russian citizens acting independently.

But why would pro-Russia accounts retweet a message like Krebs' tweet, which runs contrary to their views?

A Russian billionaire with ties to Manafort is out on $174 million bail — but lawyer claims his extradition is ‘imminent’

http://2d0yaz2jiom3c6vy7e7e5svk.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/manafort_russian.jpg

A ccording to the attorney for a Russian oligarch with extensive ties to former Donald Trump campaign manager Paul Manfort, his client is close to being extradited to the U.S. from Austria, reports the Chicago Tribune (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chicagoinc/ct-dmitry-firtash-inc-20170911-story.html).

“Imminent,” and “at risk,” is how attorney Dan Webb described the extradition of his client, Dmitry Firtash, who is currently free on $174 million bond overseas.

Firtash has battling extradition to the U.S. since his 2014 arrest in Vienna after being accused of masterminding a titanium-mining racket involving Boeing.

According to Firtash and his lawyer, he claims he was targeted at the time by the Obama administration as punishment for Putin’s annexation of Crimea.

Firtash’s attorney admitted that fears that his client might “hop on a private plane and head over to Moscow, or to some other country where we can’t extradite him,” in the extradition is approved.

Complicating Firtash’s return to Chicago to face charges based on federal wiretaps, is his connection to Manafort, who is also under investigation by the FBI.

According to USA Today, Firtash has been connected to the Russian mob and has business dealings with Manfort dating back to 2008.

According to Manafort, he “never had a business relationship” with Firtash.

‘More smoking guns than Bonnie and Clyde’: House Dem blasts Nunes’ ‘obstructive behavior’ in Trump-Russia probe

A member of the House Intelligence Committee told MSNBC host Chris Matthews that Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) is “obstructing” the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Matthews asked Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) about Vyacheslav Nikonov, a member of Russia’s parliament, bragging (http://www.rawstory.com/2017/09/member-of-duma-admits-russian-intelligence-stole-the-president-of-the-united-states-on-live-tv/) about stealing the presidential election.

“Are your Republican colleagues as in the know as the Russian Duma members are? Do they know what’s going on or are they still denying it?” Matthews asked.

“Well first, we just need to president to accept…” Rep. Swalwell began, before Matthews interrupted.

“Like Nunes, I don’t know what he’s up to, that guy,” Matthews exclaimed.

“He looks like such a homer for the Trump crowd in the White House.”

Matthews then asked about Derek Harvey (https://www.rawstory.com/2017/09/flynn-loyalist-ousted-from-nsc-joins-nunes-house-intelligence-committee-staff/), a Mike Flynn loyalist who was ousted from the National Security Advisor was hired by Rep. Nunes, who chairs the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

“On our committee I have not seen the acceptance that Russia interfered with our election and we have a responsibility to do something about it,” Rep. Swalwell noted.

“And when you look at the eagerness and willingness of the Trump campaign to work with the Russians, we have more smoking guns than Bonnie and Clyde — we have the evidence that they were willing to work with the Russians,” the former prosecutor explained.

“The question is did it materialize to a working relationship.”

Swalwell says that this isn’t just about accountability for the 2016 election, but about deterring future election interference.

“Nothing sharpens the knives of the Russians more for a future attack than disunity among our investigation,” Swalwell explained.

“Nothing will strengthen our shield in a future attack than having a report that understands Russia, identifies who was responsible and makes reforms so it never happens again.

We don’t have that right now.”

“Are you confident that your commmittee, the House Intelligence Committee, is going to break this case?” Matthews asked.

“It’s troubling Chris, it’s like watching your favorite football team complete a 20-yard pass and the next play, you have a 10-yard sack,” Rep. Swalwell related. “That’s what the obstructive behavior by the chairman does.”

“I get the feeling that your chairman is hiring some Trumpster from the White House to help quash this investigation,” Matthews noted. “That’s what it looks like. Is that what’s going on here?”

“He’s being obstructive,” Rep. Swalwell noted. “I don’t know what his motives are, but it keeps us from being able to do our job.”

FBI probed over Jeff Sessions’ Russia contacts

http://2d0yaz2jiom3c6vy7e7e5svk.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Jeff-Sessions-3-800x430.jpg

A new lawsuit has challenged the FBI to release advice it gave Attorney General Jeff Sessions about whether his contacts with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S. during the 2016 election should have been included on his security clearance application.

After CNN revealed Sessions had at least two meetings with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak in May, the attorney general said he left contacts with the dignitary off his application because he was told to by the FBI.

Later it was revealed

Sessions met with Kislyak as many as three times (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/jeff-sessions-russia-meetings-secret-james-comey-senate-testimony-closed-a7782206.html) after he testified:

“I did not have communications with the Russians” during his Senate confirmation hearing. Sessions released (https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-russia-sessions/sessions-releases-heavily-redacted-record-of-foreign-contacts-idUSKBN19Y1ZT) a redacted copy of his application form in July.

“If Jeff Sessions wants us to believe his excuse, he should prove it,” said Austin Evers, executive director of the government watchdog group American Oversight in astatement (https://www.americanoversight.org/pfaw-american-oversight-sue-doj-fbi-failing-provide-documents-alleged-sessions-fbi-instructions) about the new lawsuit (https://www.americanoversight.org/document/pfaw-v-fbi) Tuesday.

The Washington Post later revealed

two of Sessions conversations with Kislyak (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/sessions-discussed-trump-campaign-related-matters-with-russian-ambassador-us-intelligence-intercepts-show/2017/07/21/3e704692-6e44-11e7-9c15-177740635e83_story.html?tid=a_breakingnews&utm_term=.f2893fe6c52e) concerned campaign matters.

“American Oversight is joining People For the American Way in suing for the release of documents corroborating—or disproving—Sessions’ latest excuse,” said Evers after

the FBI failed to respond to their freedom of information request after the agency said it would process it in 20 days after July 25. The FBI’s response is nearly a month overdue.

Michael Flynn failed to disclose Russia—Saudi nuke deal—Democratswant Mueller to investigate (https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/9/13/1698165/-Michael-Flynn-failed-to-disclose-Russia-Saudi-nuke-deal-Democrats-want-Mueller-to-investigate)

Democratic Congressmen Elijah Cummings and Eliot Engel have sent a note to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, informing him of yet another unrecorded trip (http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/13/politics/democrats-mueller-flynn-middle-east-trip-disclosure/index.html?adkey=bn)by former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.

… Michael Flynn failed to disclose a trip he took to the Middle East to explore a business deal with the Saudi government and a Russian government agency. …

Democrats sought information from three American companies in June after Newsweek reported that Flynn traveled to the Middle East in the summer of 2015 to broker a $100 billion deal between the companies, Saudi Arabia and Russia's nuclear power agency. In response, officials from the US companies provided statements to the Democrats, confirming Flynn's trip in 2015.

A trip to the Middle East to work out a deal that involved both the Saudi and Russian governments would definitely seem like something that might have come up when Flynn was disclosing his overseas connections. But the subject of those discussions (http://www.newsweek.com/2017/06/23/flynn-russia-nuclear-energy-middle-east-iran-saudi-arabia-qatar-israel-donald-623396.html)makes the omission even more serious.

In June 2015, knowledgeable sources tell Newsweek, Flynn flew to Egypt and Israel on behalf of X-Co/Iron Bridge.

His mission: to gauge attitudes in Cairo and Jerusalem toward a plan for a joint U.S.-Russian (and Saudi-financed) program to get control over the Arab world’s rush to acquire nuclear power.

At the core of their concern was a fear that states in the volatile Middle East would have inadequate security for the plants and safeguards for their radioactive waste—the stuff of nuclear bombs.

Flynn pitched Arab countries on the idea of nuclear plants paid for by the Saudis and operated by a consortium of US companies and Russian agencies.

But it wasn’t actually a power plan.

It was a power play for a giant international protection racket.

If the Saudis and other Arab states buy in, it won’t be for energy, says Thomas Cochran, a prominent scientist and nuclear nonproliferation proponent involved with the ACU project. “They are buying security,” he tells Newsweek. Under the ACU plan, “they’re buying a security arrangement involving the U.S., Russia, France, and the U.K., eventually.”

The idea was that Russia, facing what Johnson called an “economic and existential calamity” because of low oil prices, could use the income generated from the partnership. The consortium could then purchase “Russian military hardware” to compensate Moscow for losing military sales to Iran.

If the Flynn deal went through, Russia would be encouraged to decrease their support for Iran. In exchange, they’d get massive sums of cash, not only through nuclear deals, but arms sales.

It was Taylor and Mensch who both said there were two different searches on Manafort's properties. One Manafort consented to in which he cleaned out his apartment before that search in which the feds knew. Hence the raid on his house.
