"I generally agree Russia's efforts had little overall effect"

????

Pootin/Assange hacking and leaking Dem stuff all summer (instead of one big dump) wrong-footed Hillary's campaign.

Pootin's micro-targeted ads, blogging, tweeting, retweeting at least in the WI, MI, PA that elected Trash very probably had hurt Hillary (but not as bad Comey)

Bruce Ohr, who was demoted from associate deputy attorney general for concealing his meetings with Fusion GPS, is married to a woman who also works for....Fusion GPS. :rollin

Wife of demoted DOJ official worked for firm behind anti-Trump dossier

EXCLUSIVE: A senior Justice Department official demoted last week for concealing his meetings with the men behind the anti-Trump “dossier” had even closer ties to Fusion GPS, the firm responsible for the incendiary document, than have been disclosed, Fox News has confirmed: The official’s wife worked for Fusion GPS during the 2016 election.

Contacted by Fox News, investigators for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) confirmed that Nellie H. Ohr, wife of the demoted official, Bruce G. Ohr, worked for the opposition research firm last year. The precise nature of Mrs. Ohr’s duties – including whether she worked on the dossier – remains unclear but a review of her published works available online reveals Mrs. Ohr has written extensively on Russia-related subjects. HPSCI staff confirmed to Fox News that she was paid by Fusion GPS through the summer and fall of 2016.

Fusion GPS has attracted scrutiny because Republican lawmakers have spent the better part of this year investigating whether the dossier, which was funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, served as the basis for the Justice Department and the FBI to obtain FISA surveillance last year on a Trump campaign adviser named Carter Page.

Top DOJ official demoted after contact with dossier authors

“The House Intelligence Committee,” Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., told Fox News in a statement on Monday, “is looking into all facets of the connections between the Department of Justice and Fusion GPS, including Mr. Ohr.”

Until Dec. 6, when Fox News began making inquiries about him, Bruce Ohr held two titles at DOJ. He was, and remains, director of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force; but his other job was far more senior. Mr. Ohr held the rank of associate deputy attorney general, a post that gave him an office four doors down from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. The day before Fox News reported that Mr. Ohr held his secret meetings last year with the founder of Fusion GPS, Glenn Simpson, and with Christopher Steele, the former British spy who compiled the dossier, the Justice Department stripped Ohr of his deputy title and ousted him from his fourth floor office at the building that DOJ insiders call “Main Justice.”

You keep ignoring two very important factors.

Coates/Sessions/Rosenstein created a new FBI counterintelligence unit to crack down on leaks from inside the intelligence community and within congress.

Only the people on Schiff’s committee has access to that email, 8 in total.

TRUMP WHITE HOUSE WEIGHING PLANS FOR PRIVATE SPIES TO COUNTER “DEEP STATE” ENEMIES (https://theintercept.com/2017/12/04/trump-white-house-weighing-plans-for-private-spies-to-counter-deep-state-enemies/)

THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION is considering a set of proposals developed by Blackwater founder Erik Prince and a retired CIA officer —

with assistance from Oliver North, a key figure in the Iran-Contra scandal —

to provide CIA Director Mike Pompeo and the White House with

a global, private spy network that would circumvent official U.S. intelligence agencies,

a means of countering “deep state” enemies in the intelligence community seeking to undermine Donald Trump’s presidency.

the effort would be used to create

an intelligence apparatus to justify the Trump administration’s political agenda.

“Pompeo can’t trust the CIA bureaucracy, so we need to create this thing that reports just directly to him,”

“It is a direct-action arm, totally off the books,”

“The whole point is this is supposed to report to the president and Pompeo directly.”

an army of spies with no official cover in several countries deemed “denied areas” for current American intelligence personnel, including North Korea and Iran.

The White House has also considered creating a new global rendition unit meant to capture terrorist suspects around the world, as well as a propaganda campaign in the Middle East and Europe to combat Islamic extremism and Iran.

Rep. Peter T. King: Donald Trump Jr. interview casts doubt on any ‘collusion’

Rep. Peter T. King said Sunday it’s difficult to conclude there was any collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign based on a recent interview Donald Trump Jr. gave to congressional investigators

“Nobody listening to that interview could come out of that thinking there was any collusion at all. This is totally phony,” Mr. King, New York Republican, said on Fox News.

Mr. King is a member of the House Intelligence Committee, which recently interviewed the younger Mr. Trump as part of its investigation into ties between Russia and the Trump campaign.

Mr. King said the worst thing the president could do now would be to remove special counsel Robert Mueller, who is conducting a criminal investigation, saying such a move would give Democrats and the media an opportunity to “blow this up and come up with another phony issue.”

He said once the collusion issue is set aside, investigators can turn to matters involving former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the president’s 2016 campaign opponent, such as a uranium deal involving Russia and the Clinton-led State Department during the Obama administration.

Wikileaks blantantly instructing Junya how to get stolen information on Hillary.

On October 3, 2016, WikiLeaks wrote again. “Hiya, it’d be great if you guys could comment on/push this story,” WikiLeaks suggested, attaching a quote (https://twitter.com/wikileaks/status/782906224937410562) from then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton about wanting to “just drone” WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange.

“Already did that earlier today,” Trump Jr. responded an hour-and-a-half later. “It’s amazing what she can get away with.”

Two minutes later, Trump Jr. wrote again, asking, “What’s behind this Wednesday leak I keep reading about?” The day before, Roger Stone, an informal advisor to Donald Trump, had tweeted (http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/298883-roger-stone-threatens-wednesday-will-be-end-of-clinton), “Wednesday@HillaryClinton is done. #WikiLeaks.”

Trump Lawyers Want A Second Special Counsel

They want a probe into “obvious conflicts of interest” in the existing special counsel’s office.

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-lawyers-second-special-counsel_us_5a2fc0f3e4b01598ac47e0d3?utm_medium=ema il&utm_campaign=__TheMorningEmail__121217&utm_content=__TheMorningEmail__121217+CID_6c4448c5 ca8335eb9364711f870cea6a&utm_source=Email%20marketing%20software&utm_term=HuffPost&ncid=newsltushpmgnews__TheMorningEmail__121217

Trash's knows Mueller is getting, has the goods, he MUST delegitimize Mueller.

I don't think even the Republicans will go along with this. Going in on special counsels always backfires, and at this point, Trump looks to be dragging a lot of Republicans down with him. They will be looking to what comes after Trump.

A lot of them have already made that calculation. Some will continue to try to attack Mueller, but I give the odds of a special counsel investigating the special counsel as non-existant.

I don't think even the Republicans will go along with this.

special counsel is appointed by DoJ, not Congress.

Racist Sessions' compromised, politicized DoJ would be certainly capable of appointing a special counsel to investigate DoJ's own special counsel.

There are no rules, conventions, protocols, regs that the Repugs will not violate.

Fox News And GOP Expose Robert Mueller As Kenyan Obama Gay From Hillary-Town, It Is Just So Obvious

Ugh. We do not feel like writing this post, because it is a waste of OUR fucking time and YOUR fucking time and none of us will ever get this time in our lives back. BUT SERIOUSLY, STICK AROUND, because if we are writing it, you are reading it. You dicks.

We say that because it’s obvious special counsel Robert Mueller is getting VERY CLOSE and things are getting VERY HOT in the kitchen for Trump and his people in the Russia investigation. If Wonkette can see the outlines of a massive quid pro quo between the Trump campaign, the Russian government, and all their various cut-outs, not only to steal the election, but to institute something much greater, where rich fucks conspire with each other to basically steal the world and run off with the profits, then Robert Mueller can probably tell you the whole goddamn story through interpretive dance or shadow puppets or, hell, he could put on a wig and some big opera lady boobies and sing it to you in Italian. BUT YET HE WON’T. He’s holding his cards very close, and he’ll let us know things when he’s ready for us to know things.

(LOL you are picturing Opera Boobies Mueller right now. YOU’RE WELCOME.)

All this means the GOP and its slobbering cockwaffles at Fox News are in APOCALYPSE mode, throwing every piece of shit at the wall they can find to discredit Mueller and discredit the FBI, in a desperate attempt to either convince Donald Trump to try to pull a Saturday Night Massacre, or to set up a scenario where Trump can pardon 50 people in one fell swoop and (32 percent of) PEOPLE WILL BE OK WITH IT. (Or both.)

We’re not going to scour the internet for one million examples of this fuckery. Instead, we’ll give you two prime examples of the genre, both available thanks to the wonders of “YouTube.” The first is from Chris Hayes’s show Thursday night, and it is a compilation of truly batshit Republican congressmen like Louie Gohmert and Matt Gaetz, telling new FBI Director Chris Wray about how the FBI sucks and Robert Mueller sucks and your mom sucks, blah blah blah blah blah. Here, watch it!

https://youtu.be/deHEsmgucfg

JIM JORDAN: “If you kicked everybody off Mueller’s team who was anti-Trump, I don’t think you’d have anybody left!

RAUL LABRADOR: “I have begun to have serious doubts about some in the FBI, serious doubts about the integrity of some of the highest levels of the FBI.”

MATT GAETZ: “Did Bob Mueller recruit people to his probe that had a bias against the president?”

Louie Gohmert gave Wray a laundry list of names of FBI people he’s heard on Fox News, asking if they were BIASSSSS against Trump. Wray defended each and every one of his people, which probably just proves the squirrels inside Gohmert’s brain are right that Wray is part of the DEEP STATE CONSPIRACY!

One of the names they’re so het up about is Peter Strzok, whom Mueller fired from his team for sending anti-Trump sexts to his FBI girlfriend. Strzok is their new Pizzagate and Benghazi and Michelle Obama Whitey Tape, all wrapped up in one FBI dude. Of course, intelligence and expertise have a well-known liberal bias, so if Mueller is picking the FBI’s best and brightest for his team, he’s probably going to end up with a few good men like Strzok, as opposed to a bunch of paste-eating Trump supporters who play with their poo. :lmao Of course, there’s zero indication Strzok’s personal political beliefs interfered with his ability to do his job. Regardless, Mueller fired him! Get it, Republican dipshits? Mueller found a person he thought might appear biased and he got rid of him. Problem solved, right? The fuck you say!

That is their whole “scandal” with Strzok. Oh, and we forgot, Strzok led the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails, and she hasn’t been executed for EMAILS, therefore he is bad. In these people’s addled shit-fer-brains, if you don’t accept as Gospel Truth that Hillary Clinton is a murderous radical Benghazi email crimer, then you are obviously not qualified to do an FBI job.

They are also pissed off about one of Mueller’s prosecutors, name of Andrew Weissman, who spoke approvingly of former acting attorney general Sally Yates telling Trump to fuck off with his Muslim ban, instead of doing what a REAL AMERICAN would have done, which is bow before King Trump and kiss his taint, regardless of the legality of what King Trump was doing.

Yes, these Republicans are bad at being Americans, and their “scandals” are dumber than dogshit, just like Uranium One was. (“Uranium One” seems to have barked itself to sleep as soon as Michael Flynn was caught doing “uranium.”) Did you expect something of substance? You are silly.

Ready for video number two? OK!

Here’s a Fox News Two Minutes Hate rage frottage clip of Sean Hannity and Gregg Jarrett (Fox News “legal” “analyst”), furiously rubbing their dicks up against each other while they say the FBI is now THE LITERAL KGB. (It’s funny because the actual rebranded KGB — now called the FSB — led by former KGB guy Vladimir Putin, helped steal the election for Sean Hannity’s daddy Trump. Isn’t that funny?)

https://youtu.be/KiYLYBrmKec

JARRETT: I think we now know that the Mueller investigation is illegitimate and corrupt. And Mueller has been using the FBI as a political weapon. And the FBI has become America’s secret police … It’s like the old KGB that comes for you in the dark of the night, banging through your door!

Somne transcript, along with what Wonkette would have said had we been a guest on Hannity:
HANNITY: By the way, this is not a game. This is not hyperbole you’re using here!

WONKETTE: Surely not!

JARRETT: No! Ask Paul Manafort. They came for him and broke through his front door …

HANNITY: And if it can happen to him, Gregg …

JARRETT: It can happen to all of us!

WONKETTE: First they came for Paul Manafort, but I did not care because I was not a foreign agent money launderer for Russia and Ukraine, allegedly.

Also, blah blah blah FBI “shadow government,” blah blah blah “Peter Strzok,” blah blah blah, fap fap fap, poop poop poop. These people have lost their shit.

As a bonus, CNN’s Brian Stelter lovingly collected screenshots of Fox News this week, starting with Tucker Carlson caterwauling about a “tainted probe,” which is funny, because that’s what we call Tucker Carlson’s penis:
https://img.wonkette.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/tucker-640x328.png
These are such weird, mentally and morally undeveloped people. We would feel sorry for them if they weren’t destroying America.

For an exhaustive roundup of state-run Fox News North Korean propaganda TV and its behavior regarding Mueller, there’s a Media Matters for that.

Sure wish somebody would make a simple tweet explaining what this all means. Oh hi, Sarah Huckabee “Poot Lips” Sanders in 2016!
["If you are attacking FBI agents because you are under investigation, you're losing"-Sanders]

If there is any silver lining to this fuckery, it’s that the American people are decidedly not buying it. According to the latest from Pew Research, Trump’s approval rating is a weak and sad 32 percent. Fully 59 percent of Americans believe Trump people either “definitely or probably” colluded with Russians, and 56 percent either “somewhat” or “TOTALLY OMG” trust Robert Mueller to do a fair investigation. In other words, a very large majority of Americans are not falling for the time-wasting unpatriotic horseshit being spewed by Donald Trump, GOP congressmen, or the fucking loons on Fox News. They’ve got about 30 percent of the American people on their side, and it seems these days that those 30 percent are pretty much the ceiling when it comes to supporting Trump.

Of course, that pant-shitting moron 30 percent might riot when Robert Mueller starts locking folks up in earnest. But we guess we’ll just cross that bridge when we get there. Considering their track record, it’s just as likely they’ll start busting their Keurig coffee machines again and, left with no coffee, go to Starbucks, hand over seven bucks, and insist to their bemused baristas that their name is “TYRANNY!” or “URANIUM ONE!” because making baristas write that stuff on coffee cups really sticks it to the liberals.

Shit’s gonna get weirder from here. Get ready.

"If there is any silver lining to this fuckery, it’s that the American people are decidedly not buying it."

The American people are irrelevant, disenfranchised. The political class does whatever BigDonor wants, blatantly with the Repugs, less blatantly with (establishment) Dems.

And the Repugs know it.

They execute their destructive strategy for the oligarchy knowing full well they won't be held accountable for the ensuing disasters, about which they will LIE about and blame the Dems. Repugs are responsive and accountable only to BigDonor.

Repugs ADMITTED as much about the tax cut, admitting that BigDonor threatened to stop funding if the tax cut didn't pass.

(edit)

You have a lot of modest conflicts of interest, but none that are would cause serious concern. My understanding is that no matter what person you pick for such an investigation, you are going to have conflicts of interest. The best is to have someone who isn't openly antagonistic, and can set aside such things. In this you want competence first.

No problem at all? A small problem, but one that is unavoidable.

That said, I know you don't care about conflicts of interest. I find the fact that you question them here to be laughable.

FOIA revealed he didn't recuse himself from Clinton investigation until after the election.

Shailagh Murray---Obama's top communications advisor. Married to Neil King---Fusion GPS employee

Do you see any conflicts of interest yes or no?

That must be very alien to you.

Do you want to have Trumps babies or what?

I appreciate the answer but find it laughable that none cause you serious concern considering one of the FBI's most experienced counterintelligence officers was removed from Mueller's team and the DOJ's associate Deputy Attorney General was demoted for hiding his contact with Glenn Simpson from the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Nothing to see here move along right?

I'll try to find it, it was the NY FBI office that Comey was worried about.

He broke FBI protocol of silence-if-no-indictment to trash her severely to satisfy/pre-empt the FBI NY office going after her.

The article was between Comey heavily publicised conference and the election. This could be the article or could be others:

“It was widely understood that there was a faction in that office that couldn’t stand her and was out to get her,”

“They’re not on the same team”: why Trump’s lawyers keep clashing over the Russia probe

Here’s a simple guide to the various lawyers representing President Trump.

President Donald Trump’s lawyers have spent the past few weeks making (https://www.axios.com/exclusive-trump-lawyer-claims-the-president-cannot-obstruct-justice-2514742663.html) conflicting statements about

how they would defend against special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into possible Trump-Russia ties,

causing many to wonder just who is actually in charge of representing the president.

Trash objects to anti-Russia provisions as he signs $700 billion defense bill

he pointed out the bill's imperfections in a signing statement.

Among then: A variety of provisions lawmakers included to force a more aggressive U.S. policy toward Russia.

Those provisions, Trump said in his signing statement, raise constitutional concerns – and

"could potentially dictate the position of the United States in external military and foreign affairs" :lol

and interfere with his ability to conduct diplomacy. :lol

The bill passed by Congress contains several provisions specifically targeting Russia.

It restricts military cooperation with Russia,

prohibits the United States from recognizing Russia's legal right to the disputed Crimea peninsula, and

requires the military to "develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to counter threats by the Russian Federation" —

including Russia's use of disinformation, social media and support for political parties.

Trump has himself expressed a willingness to work with Russia and touted his good relationship with its president, Vladimir Putin.

Fusion GPS Paid Top DOJ Official’s Wife To Dig Up Dirt On Trump

Court documents reveal the opposition research firm that put together a dossier filled with wild, unsubstantiated claims about Donald Trump hired the spouse of a newly demoted Justice Department official to dig up dirt on Trump.

Glenn Simpson, co-founder of Fusion GPS — the infamous firm behind the dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele — stated in a court declaration that his firm hired Nellie H. Ohr as a subcontractor to help with “research and analysis of Mr. Trump,” according to Chuck Ross at The Daily Caller. Nellie H. Ohr is married to Bruce G. Ohr, who was associate deputy attorney general at the DOJ until he was recently demoted.

The timing of Bruce Ohr’s demotion is curious, as he retained his status as a top DOJ official until just before Fox News broke the story about his wife’s role at Fusion GPS and his own secret meetings with Steele and Simpson in 2016.

CNN has reported that the FBI used the Steele dossier as a justification to wiretap a Trump associate, Carter Page. Last week, news broke that Peter Strzok, a top FBI official who was involved in the ongoing probe into whether Trump or his associates colluded with Russian officials to steal the 2016 election from Hillary Clinton, was dismissed after it was discovered he had exhibited an anti-Trump bias. Strzok was demoted last July for text messages railing against Trump that he sent to a woman he was allegedly having an affair with. You can read some of these text messages here.

In one such text message, Strzok makes an apparent reference to Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, CNN reported.

‘I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office’ — an apparent reference to Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe — ‘that there’s no way he gets elected — but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. McCabe was scheduled to testify before House intelligence committee members on Tuesday about the ongoing probe into Trump ‘s associates, but cancelled just after the news broke that Bruce Ohr’s wife was paid to investigate Trump for Fusion GPS. As The Wall Street Journal has reported, McCabe’s wife, Jill McCabe, received nearly $500,000 in campaign support from a political action committee controlled by Terry McAuliffe — Democratic Virginia governor and longtime friend to the Clintons — in 2015.

The Unraveling

941031366061412353

#1) …exactly why the White Hats are selectively preparing the larger U.S. electorate in advance of the 1.2 million documents which will outline the background of the Inspector General’s year-long investigation into the politicization of the FBI and DOJ.

The recent IG releases of information, Agent Strzok, Lisa Page, Bruce Ohr and Nellie Ohr; to include FBI Agent Peter Strzok’s text messages with FBI Lawyer Lisa Page; are strategically sequenced -and timed- in their public release.

The information drop today, which includes the text messages, reveals the bigger plot:
August 15, 2016, FBI Agent Strzok tells FBI Lawyer Lisa Page:
“I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office that there’s no way he gets elected – but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40.”

“Andy’s office” would be FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe; and the appearance here is a clear outline to use the Steele Russian Dossier, as the foundation to the FISA warrant, which would be considered “an insurance policy” against candidate Donald Trump winning the presidency.

Yes, that would be a conspiracy; being discussed in Andrew McCabe’s office. A few weeks later (October 2016), the FBI and DOJ did get the FISA warrant they were discussing in August 2016.

#2) …. And now we know why Andrew McCabe cancelled his scheduled appearance on Capitol Hill yesterday. He didn’t have an “Ohr” problem, he had a larger conspiracy issue that he was likely to be questioned about, and someone tipped him off. After McCabe’s cancellation the IG office distributed the text messages to the full House.

#3) …. And now we know why Nellie Ohr, Fusion GPS contract employee and wife of Associate DOJ Deputy Bruce Ohr, began using a HAM radio when the operation against candidate Donald Trump was conceived.

Nellie Ohr was hired by Fusion-GPS to specifically work on the Trump project and coordinate with MI6 Agent Christopher Steele. The Steele Dossier would later become the underlying evidence behind the application for the FISA warrant to wiretap Donald Trump and being electronic surveillance.

#4) ….And now we know, so far, on the FBI side of the conspiracy, the years-long IG investigation has captured FBI Agent Strzok, FBI Attorney Lisa Page, and FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

Likely the IG has also captured Bill Priestap, head of FBI counterintelligence and FBI Agent Strzok’s boss. Priestap was the guy who Comey blamed for not informing congressional oversight, and Bill Priestap was also the guy who went to the White House present the information against NatSec Advisor Mike Flynn along with Sally Yates (DOJ).

We do not yet know if the IG has captured enough on FBI Director James Comey.

It would appear, at least so far, that Peter Strzok is willing to fall on his sword and take the blame for steering/manipulating the 2016 FBI investigation of Clinton’s emails; perhaps in an effort to protect James Comey. However, will James Comey get caught in the Russian Conspiracy sting? Too soon to tell.

What is obvious from the last 72 hours is that the Inspector General’s office is selectively, and strategically, letting out information that appears to be preparing the general public for a rather extensive, and troubling, bigger story.

Simultaneously, if we accept the IG investigation is ongoing, these releases would also be part of a strategy, the ending of the sting, to see how each of the participants responds. It is likely all of the identified plotters are being actively monitored to see how they are reacting.

im not loyal to any political party or political official... and i've always been registered with no party preference. there are scumbag democrats in office and scumbag republicans in office. i do have opinions on political issues, and i vote in line with some combination of principle and self interest. anybody with some sort of political ideology will end up being pigeonholed in a 2 party system. as much as you, CN, or wildcobra claim not to be a republican, for example, you find yourselves aligning with republicans because they share more of your views than democrats.

again, it depends on your meaning of partisan. if you define partisan as "having opinions on political issues, and tending to support the candidate that most closely emulates those opinions (in some combination with self interest)" then yeah sure.

i probably woulda voted lindsay graham or john kasich over hillary, for instance, and likely would have abstained from voting altogether with the exception of a trump/carson/cruz/fiorina nomination in which i'd be compelled to vote against them

immigration is a big self-interest category for me (wife's green card application has been backlogged like crazy since the election, and she needs to have it processed by june for med school apps)... so trump was a non-starter all along, and he's already fucking us there. not to mention the new tax bill is going to hit is hard once she starts med school with tuition grants now being taxable income. the amount we'll be saving on the other end is negligible
