Take what you want from his tweets, he never said it was illegal.

Again, your hate from Trump has you defending a Presidential candidate being under surveillance by the sitting administration. Think long and hard about the stance you've forced yourself to take.

Think of the repurcussions if nothing is done and Trump can use the NSA/FBI/CIA and the same tactics on Democrats during the next election.

Trump might not make it past the year homeskillet.

Nunes - Recused
Sessions - Recused
Flynn - Registered as Foreign Agent/denied immunity. Accepted payments from Russia and hid from DOJ
Chaffetz - Confirming Flynn broke the law, then Chaffetz takes emergency break from Congress for a non serious "surgery"
NBC reports White house vetted Flynn even with his red flags
Manafort - Russia lobbying, money laundering with the US FIN center having those receipts.

Carter Page - Confirmed himself he hid meeting with Russian ambassador. Along with Sessions. Page also been under FBI watch since 2013. Wore a wire to Moscow carrying a tape of Trump promising to lift sanctions.

And yet somehow TSA thinks this is trending well for Donnie :lol

The Trash White House actually DID do a background check on Michael Flynn (http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/4/30/1657650/-The-Trump-White-House-actually-DID-do-a-background-check-on-Michael-Flynn)

The White House and President Trump's transition team reportedly did a background check on former national security adviser Michael Flynn in addition to his already approved security clearance, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow reported Friday evening.

"NBC News has learned from sources close to the Trump-Russia investigation that both the Trump transition and the White House did do a background
check on Flynn," Maddow said on her program, citing reporting from NBC's Andrea Mitchell.

"This is in addition to his already approved security clearance. They did a background check on Flynn specifically for him to become national security adviser." [...]

For a presidency that’s only 102 days old, we’ve already been treated to some highly memorable words and phrases that will no doubt be book titles in the coming years:

“Unpresidented,”

“Alternative Facts,” and

“American Carnage.”

That said, “I don’t stand by anything” appears likely to be a classic of its own.

Mercer financed Trash (and Breitbart) and got his proteges Bannon, KA Conway, Steve Miller into Trash's entourage.

Bannon and Kushner are actually at odds, rivals.

Steele paid by Trump opposition to compose dossier
Steele wasn't even Russia to gather intel, paid others (who?) to gather intel for dossier
Same dossier used by previous administration to get FISA (Page spoke with Russian spy in 2013, FBI never accuses Page of wrongdoing)
Little of the dossier has been corroborated except the Page part...and that part means little since the FBI did nothing in 2013

It's just another piece that is unraveling for the previous administration after they were caught spying on a Presidential candidate.

So were you aware Steele was never in Russia gathering intel?

Yes, it is right there in the article. It is also irrelevant to the document's authenticity, since the primary sources were that of Russians.

You seem to think it is relevant, tell me how exactly you think it relevant to what his sources said. You aren't in the same city as I am, yet we *somehow* appear to be communicating. I am honestly a bit puzzled about your thinking on this. Please explain.

Mystery death of ex-KGB chief linked to MI6 spy's dossier on Donald Trump
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/01/27/mystery-death-ex-kgb-chief-linked-mi6-spys-dossier-donald-trump/

It was later claimed he died of a heart attack. Christo Grozev, an expert on Russia-related security threats, believes Erovinkin is the key source to whom Mr Steele refers in his dossier.

Mr Grozev said on a blog: “Insiders have described Erovinkin to me alternately as ‘Sechin’s treasurer’ and ‘the go-between between Putin and Sechin’. One thing that everyone seems to agree – both in public and private sources – is that Erovinkin was Sechin’s closest associate.”

Mr Grozev, of Risk Management Lab, a think tank in Bulgaria, said: “I have no doubt that at the time Erovinkin died, Mr Putin had Mr Steele’s Trump dossier on his desk. He would – arguably – have known whether the alleged... story is based on fact or fiction.

That kind of coincidence starts to beg a lot of questions.

Three Russian cyber arrests, one suspicious death, and a new twist in the US election hack

In the eerie world of international espionage, nothing of late has topped the official US accusation that Russian president Vladimir Putin plotted to put US president Donald Trump in power. Now, the tale has become even more salacious with the reported arrest of three Russian cyber experts, one of whom was perp-walked out of a meeting with a bag over his head, and the suspicious death of a former KGB general.

Russia experts say the episode suggests a possible purge related to the US election hack. In a twist of Kremlinology, others say Putin may only be pretending to have arrested and killed cyber operatives. Or, say still others, neither observation may be true. “Can we really trust Russian news?” asks Dave Aitel, a former analyst with the US National Security Agency, and now CEO of Immunity, a cyber intrusion protection firm.

The story of the arrests appears to have broken at the Russian newspaper Kommersant on Jan. 25. The paper reported (link in Russian) the arrests of Sergei Mikhailov, who heads the Center for Information Security, an arm of the Russian intelligence agency known by the acronym FSB; and Ruslan Stoyanov, a senior researcher with Kaspersky Lab, the computer security company.

Such a purge is consistent with a cover-up. My guess is that most of those arrested will be released after a while, having been sent a clear message not to talk. (that is the optimistic me, pessimist says there is a good chance they are going to disappear)

Meet the nine Russian operatives who have dropped dead during Donald Trump-Russia scandal

Russia’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Vitaly Churkin, has dropped dead in New York of an apparent heart attack. That may not stand out as suspicious on its own, until one considers that he’s the third Russian diplomat to drop dead in the U.S. since the election season began – and the last two were also said to have died of heart attacks despite their skulls both being bashed in. Even more bizarrely, since Russia’s rigging of the election for Donald Trump exploded in scandal, a whopping nine Russian diplomats, businessmen and operatives have mysteriously dropped dead.

Back in January, a thirty-page dossier was leaked to the public which detailed all the supposed ways in which Russia was blackmailing Trump. Two weeks later Oleg Erovinkin, a former KGB General who had helped a former MI6 agent to assemble the dossier, turned up dead in the back of a car in Russia. While it hasn’t been proven, many have suspected that Vladimir Putin had Erovinkin taken out in revenge for Erovinkin’s complicity in exposing Putin’s blackmail scheme. But even more Russian bodies have been dropping.

Sergei Mikhailov, who was believed to have been a U.S. intelligence asset within the Russian government, was dragged out of a meeting in Russia with a bag over his head and is now almost certainly dead as well.

Back in January a Ukrainian businessman named Alex Oronov (who was not a Russian but who was born in the Soviet Union) arranged a meeting between Donald Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen and Russian mafia connected former Trump business associate Felix Sater, at the behest of Kremlin-controlled Ukrainian politician Andrey Artemenko. That meeting led to a Ukraine blackmail plan being delivered to Michael Flynn’s office just before he resigned. Shortly after the plot was outed in the New York Times, Oronov died. Artemenko went on to assert that Oronov died as a direct result of the plot being exposed in the media. And as it turned out, Oronov lived in one of Donald Trump’s buildings at the time of his death.

Mikhail Lesin, a former aide to Vladimir Putin, dropped dead in a Washington DC hotel room. Russia initially floated the claim that he died of a heart attack, but the coroner’s report revealed that his head had been bashed in. Sergey Krivov, an apparent Russian intel agent, was later found dead inside the Russian consulate in New York. Russia also claimed he’d had a heart attack. But in a familiar tune, the coroner later found evidence that his head had been bashed in.

Back in January, Russian diplomat Andrey Malanin was found dead in his Athens apartment. And we all recall the Russian Ambassador to Turkey, Andrey Karlov, being murdered on live television. Additionally, Russian diplomat Petr Polshikov was found shot to death in Moscow. That adds up to nine bodies now having dropped since the Trump-Russia scandal exploded.

How many of these nine deaths of Russian diplomats and Russian operatives are connected to the Donald Trump-Russia scandal? That’s not yet clear. Some of the deaths, such as Erovinkin and Mikhailov, have much more strongly demonstrated connections to Trump-Russia than others. But bodies don’t generally drop like this without a reason. How many of his own people has Vladimir Putin now eliminated while trying to cover up the Trump-Russia scandal

People die all the time. In any given population, you should expect some mortality.

That said, this is consistent with a serious purge, as would be expected if the FSB realized that someone was talking.

Crap, lunch is up, back to financial analysis. Good questions, the second (i.e. what else has been corroborated) of which I have been meaning to get to, as it was one of the more striking things that made me a bit more ready to assign credibility to the rest of it.

fucking wrong, AGAIN, if you mean Bannion [sic] as backseat driver in Trash's Klown Kar.

Mercer financed Trash (and Breitbart) and got his proteges Bannon, KA Conway, Steve Miller into Trash's entourage.

Bannon and Kushner are actually at odds, rivals.

( Hilarious that after Steve "Goebbels" Miller's disastrous TV appearance (Trump’s authority ‘will not be questioned’), they've kept him off screen.

Talking about off screen, has anybody ever heard Jared Kuntner speak? )

You are an idiot.
All indications show Kushner is in the front seat. I don't care that crazy fck Mercer is involved, and either does Trump.

The fundamental contradiction at the heart of James Comey’s testimony

Comey stands by his decision to speak about Clinton’s emails days before the election. But his explanation doesn’t add up.

Comey said he did not consider politics at all when making his decision. He told a story of a young lawyer who asked him, “Should you consider that what you are about to do will help elect Donald Trump president?” Comey said that he appreciated the question, but that he couldn’t consider “for a second whose political fortunes would be impacted in what way.”

Comey’s understanding of his obligations actually contradicts (http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/oct/30/robby-mook/clinton-campaign-says-comey-letter-violates-justic/) internal Justice Department guidance (https://www.justice.gov/sites/default/files/ag/legacy/2009/02/10/ag-030508.pdf), which says that, in the days prior to the election, the FBI should seek to do everything possible to avoid having an impact. Comey himself made that point earlier in the hearing. Avoiding having a political impact obviously requires thought about what potential political impacts might result from your actions.

Comey’s contention that political considerations didn’t play a role in his decision also contradicts his broader explanation, delivered minutes earlier, for why he decided to release the letter in the first place.

Comey said he saw “two doors” and “one was labeled ‘speak’ and the other was labeled ‘conceal.’” He said he viewed the newly discovered emails as restarting the investigation “in a hugely significant way” and “potentially finding the emails that would reflect on her intent from the beginning.”

He concluded that disclosing the new investigative steps would be “really bad” since it, as he explained earlier, it violated Justice Department protocols and traditions in the days prior to the election. But, Comey said, “concealing” the new investigative steps would be “catastrophic.”

Comey did not elaborate on why lack of disclosure would be “catastrophic.” There is a good reason why he left this point, which was at the center of his testimony, ambiguous.

President Obama's team sought NSA intel on thousands of Americans during the 2016 election

During his final year in office, President Obama's team significantly expanded efforts to search National Security Agency intercepts for information about Americans, distributing thousands of intelligence reports across government with the unredacted names of U.S. residents during the midst of a divisive 2016 presidential election.

The data, made available this week by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, provides the clearest evidence to date of how information accidentally collected by the NSA overseas about Americans was subsequently searched and disseminated after President Obama loosened privacy protections to make such sharing easier in 2011 in the name of national security. A court affirmed his order.

The revelations are particularly sensitive since the NSA is legally forbidden from directly spying on Americans and its authority to conduct warrantless searches on foreigners is up for renewal in Congress later this year. And it comes as lawmakers investigate President Trump's own claims that his privacy was violated by his predecessor during the 2016 election.

In all, government officials conducted 30,355 searches in 2016 seeking information about Americans in NSA intercept metadata, which include telephone numbers and email addresses. The activity amounted to a 27.5 percent increase over the prior year and more than triple the 9,500 such searches that occurred in 2013, the first year such data was kept.

The government in 2016 also scoured the actual contents of NSA intercepted calls and emails for 5,288 Americans, an increase of 13 percent over the prior year and a massive spike from the 198 names searched in 2013.

The searches ultimately resulted in 3,134 NSA intelligence reports with unredacted U.S. names being distributed across government in 2016, and another 3,354 reports in 2015. About half the time, U.S. identities were unredacted in the original reports while the other half were unmasked after the fact by special request of Obama administration officials.

Among those whose names were unmasked in 2016 or early 2017 were campaign or transition associates of President Trump as well as members of Congress and their staffers, according to sources with direct knowledge.

The data kept by ODNI is missing some information from one of the largest consumers of NSA intelligence, the FBI, and officials acknowledge the numbers are likely much higher when the FBI’s activity is added.

"There is no doubt that there was a spike in the requests to search for Americans in the NSA database,” a U.S. official familiar with the intelligence told Circa, speaking only on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the data. “It’s simply easier for people to make requests. And while we have safeguards, there is always concern and vigilance about possible political or prurient motives that go beyond national security concerns.”

A top lawyer for the American Civil Liberties Union, which has long raised concerns about the NSA’s ability to spy on Americans, said the rise in searches is a troubling pattern that should concern members of both political parties because it has occurred with little oversight from the courts or Congress.

“I think it is alarming. There seems to be a universal trend toward more surveillance and more surveillance that impacts Americans’ privacy without obtaining a warrant,” said Neema Singh Guliani, the ACLU’s legislative counsel.

“This data confirms that there is a lack of acknowledgment that information is being specifically and increasingly mined about Americans for investigations that have little or nothing to do with international terrorism,” she added.

The ACLU’s concerns were heightened by the release last month of apreviously classified Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court document that revealed that then NSA has a “potentially very large and broad" collection of data on U.S persons that was never intended under the law.

U.S. intelligence officials confirmed the growth in queries about Americans’ data held by the NSA but declined to explain the reasons, except to say the requests for access grew after intelligence agency officials became more comfortable with Obama's 2011 order.

Bad news for the Trump-Russia tinfoil-hat brigade

During a Capitol Hill hearing this week over his investigation into allegations President Trump worked with the Kremlin to steal the election, FBI Director James Comey showed his hand, and he’s not holding any aces. In fact, he’s got a whole lot of nothing.

In an exchange with Democratic Sen. Al Franken, Comey revealed the assumptions undergirding his investigation, which started in the heat of the 2016 presidential campaign, despite any specific evidence of a crime.

“What is your assessment of why the Russian government had a clear preference for President Trump?” Franken asked.

“One is he wasn’t Hillary Clinton,” Comey replied, “who [Russian President Vladimir] Putin hated and wanted to harm in any possible way; and so he was her opponent, so necessarily they supported him.”

Also, “Putin believed he would be more able to make deals . . . with someone with a business background,” the FBI chief added. But, a disappointed Franken pressed, wasn’t it also because Trump was “ensnared in their web of patronage?” No, said Comey.

So there you have it. The conclusion that Russia tried to steal the election for Trump is based on pure speculation about how Putin thinks. The notion Trump was in Putin’s back pocket doesn’t even factor into it.

There’s more bad news for Franken and other tin-foil-hat-wearing Democrats peddling the theory Trump is Putin’s Manchurian candidate. It turns out the FBI probe doesn’t even focus on Trump or his key campaign aides. It centers almost exclusively on a former Merrill Lynch executive who was based in Moscow a decade ago.

His name is Carter Page, and he never formally worked for the Trump campaign. In fact, he first showed up on the FBI’s radar three years before Trump announced his candidacy.

Page is the main investigative target and apparently the only one remotely tied to the Trump campaign to have his communications targeted with a FISA warrant. To obtain that surveillance warrant, the FBI relied on a discredited dossier, which will make it hard to prosecute Page.

The opposition research firm behind the dossier, which alleges nefarious collusion between Trump and Putin, is Fusion GPS, which conducts “political disinformation campaigns” — sometimes for Moscow. “The relationship casts further doubt on an already highly dubious dossier,” Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley wrote the Justice Department in a recent letter.

Adding to suspicions, the author of the dodgy dossier may have been on the FBI’s payroll, according to Grassley. The GOP senator asked Comey about “payments” the bureau made to researcher Christopher Steele, and Comey dodged the question without denying payments.

So nine months in, this is where the FBI’s investigation stands: No evidence of collaboration between the Trump campaign and Moscow, something even Obama’s intelligence czar verified. No charges against any Trump aides for espionage. And one case against a single, tangentially connected suspect built on tenuous evidence at best.

Even Comey’s theory about Putin favoring Trump lacks direct evidence. In fact, there is just as much evidence Russia hackers were trying to hurt Trump.

Yes, Russian hackers may have publicized batches of emails from the DNC and the Clinton campaign chairman. But the RNC was also a Russian hacking target. The only reason hackers got deeper into the DNC is because the DNC and John Podesta bit on phishing scams.

In September, moreover, Russian hackers also leaked embarrassing emails about Trump from ex-Republican Secretary of State Colin Powell, who called the GOP nominee a “national disgrace” and an “idiot.”

And if Russia really wanted to hurt Clinton and the Democrats, why do it withhold the coup de grace: a potentially devastating memo written by a Democratic operative who expressed confidence that Obama’s attorney general would keep the Clinton email investigation “from going too far” and ensure her victory?

A copy of the document, which might have convinced already distrustful voters of her guilt, was intercepted by the FBI.

After Wednesday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, CNN asked the ranking Democrat, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, if she had evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government during the election. “Not at this time,” Feinstein sheepishly replied.

The case against Trump is paper-thin. What started as a political fishing expedition has nonetheless turned into a full-fledged witch hunt, fanned by a Democrat-dominated media hellbent on demonizing and destroying Trump and his policie
