Its the primary benefit of day care. If you don’t want to vaccinate your kid, fine. But you are not getting their care. Goodbye, and don’t come in.

Good.
So you dont think of the secondary value at all?
And from the daycare point of view, they dont give a shit if your kid does not have the primary vaccines for young ones. THEY show you the door. When there are a room full of kids and YOU own a daycare, how are YOU going to think about vaccines? YOUR responsibility is to the group. Hey, light bulb goes on? You mean like the GOVERNMENT? Attentive to the needs of the whole while respecting the rights of the individual. Wow... amazing stuff.
The inability of the red team to put themselves in another's place is astounding. I thought this is what made people different from other animals. Apparently not.

We basically are giving the virus a chance to evolve into nastier strains by maintaining a very large group of unvaccinated people. That little piece of RNA from the original strain thanks us for allowing it to be handed down in alternate forms.
If there was some evil little lab in CHYNA trying to reek havoc upon the world they would be so pleased at how we are reacting.

Children and adolescents can also transmit SARS-CoV-2 infection to others. Early during the COVID-19 pandemic, children were not commonly identified as index cases in household or other clusters9, 10 largely because schools and extracurricular activities around the world were closed or no longer held in-person. However, outbreaks among adolescents attending camps, sports events, and schools have demonstrated that adolescents can transmit SARS-CoV-2 to others.11, 14, 30 Furthermore, transmission studies that have examined secondary infection risk from children and adolescents to household contacts who are rapidly, frequently, and systematically tested demonstrate that transmission does occur.29, 31

Put simply, I believe these Republicans are trying topromote outbreaks of Covid in America

on the assumption that
if the economy tanks then people will vote out Democrats and vote in Republicans in 2022 and 2024.
They're not just
willing to let tens or hundreds of thousands of Americans die just to win the next two elections,
they're actively encouraging that outcome.

Well, no. The point I was making is that having increased immunity means that even if they get infected, they're much less likely to be infected for long, which in practice reduces the spread vector.
We don't need R to be zero, we need it to be < 1. Anything that reduces the possibility of spread is good. It doesn't have to rid of it entirely.

No scientific evidence to support your claims here.
Of course there is:
COVID-19 vaccines are effective. However, a small percentage of people who are fully vaccinated will still get COVID-19 if they are exposed to the virus that causes it. These are called “vaccine breakthrough cases.” This means that while people who have been vaccinated are much less likely to get sick, it will still happen in some cases. It’s also possible that some fully vaccinated people might have infections, but not have symptoms (asymptomatic infections). Experts continue to study how common these cases are.
Large-scale clinical studies found that COVID-19 vaccination prevented most people from getting COVID-19. Research (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/effectiveness.html#Research1) also provides growing evidence that mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna) offer similar protection in real-world conditions. While these vaccines are effective, no vaccine prevents illness 100% of the time. For any vaccine, there are breakthrough cases.

Once more information came about, and our coaches could get proper plays, changing the stance is not wrong. I don't know why this is controversial at all. Itz just basketball.
:lol except that is nothing like that. By February we had distancing guidelines, by March we had mask mandates and lockdowns.
The fact that the previous administration fucked up the response terribly doesn't mean the CDC did (outside of the tests, a legit fumble).

We got our asses kicked when the government decided that lockdowns were going to be decided on a state by state basis (unlike Australia), when we only half-assed restricted travel (unlike Australia)...
None of those decisions rest with the CDC... that was the administration whiffing the response.

Conservative govt in USA, UK, Brazil, pandemic MISgovernace kills Ms
UK’s Pandemic Plan Recklessly Exposes Millions To Effects Of Mass Infection
A strategy that
chooses mass infection in the young now over vaccination
in order to achieve greater population immunity to protect the vulnerable in winter, is “unethical and unscientific”
Instead of allowing infections to rise, they urge the government to take urgent actions to inform and protect the public and prepare for autumn.
The prime minister’s :lol
argument that it is better to accept mass infection now than to postpone until winter, when ‘the virus has an advantage’ is deeply flawed and misleading,
will lead to many avoidable deaths and long-term illness,
if the government strategy leads us into yet another lockdown, they warn that this could have an even more devastating impact on the economy.
the public overwhelmingly supports sensible public health measures such as masking indoors.
“This begs the question
why dangerous public health decisions
that are neither in the public interest,
or in line with public sentiment,
have been made in the midst of a raging pandemic,”

:lol No, I didn't miss that. And they're not hiding anything nor they've stopped data collection. Very next paragraph:
State health departments report vaccine breakthrough cases to CDC. CDC now monitors reported hospitalized or fatal vaccine breakthrough cases for clustering by patient demographics, geographic location, time since vaccination, vaccine type, and SARS-CoV-2 lineage. Reported data include hospitalized or fatal breakthrough cases due to any cause, including causes not related to COVID-19.
To the fullest extent possible, respiratory specimens that test positive for SARS-CoV-2 RNA are collected for genomic sequencing to identify the virus lineage that caused the infection.
Some health departments may continue to report all vaccine breakthrough cases to the national database and can continue to submit specimens to CDC for sequencing. However, CDC will focus its monitoring on reported hospitalized and fatal cases.
They're simply focusing on the most dire cases at the moment. All the data is still being collected and can be used for research and investigation.

Let me revisit this. Depends on what 'tracking' means in that context... I think that's the confusion here.
The CDC claims they're collecting all the data, but will only put R&D on the most severe cases right now.
But if all the data is still collected and available, there's no reason it can't be used to track anything that becomes relevant and important over time.

The unusual Lambda variant is rapidly spreading in South America. Here’s what we know.
Its mutations help it dodge the immune system. Researchers are scrambling to figure out if it is more dangerous or transmissible than Delta.
causing almost all new infections in Peru.
has spread to 29 countries (https://beta.microreact.org/project/pE64CLDQt6Pg1qYxVit9SC-global-lambda-c37-2020-08-12021-07-12), many in Latin America. And, since January 20, 2021, 668 Lambda infections have been reported in the United States.
The possibility that Lambda might be able to dodge the immune system led the World Health Organization to designate it as a Variant of Interest (VOI) (https://www.who.int/en/activities/tracking-SARS-CoV-2-variants/) on June 14.
WHO categorizes a virus as a VOI when genetic changes in the virus are so significant that
they may affect its transmissibility, disease severity, immune escape, diagnosis or therapy; and it spreads rapidly through a community.

Delta Is Driving a Wedge Through Missouri
For America as a whole, the pandemic might be fading. For some communities, this year will be worse than last.

the chief administrative officer of Mercy Hospital Springfield, told me.
“How did we end up back here again?”
The hospital is now busier than at any previous point during the pandemic.
In just five weeks, it took in as many COVID-19 patients as it did over five months last year.
, Cox Medical Center South, has been inundated just as quickly.
“We only get beds available when someone dies, which happens several times a day,”
was concerned that the county’s daily cases were topping 250. On Wednesday, the daily count hit 405.
It is spreading easily because people have ditched their masks, crowded into indoor spaces, resumed travel,
and resisted vaccinations.
In some nearby counties, less than 20 percent of people are.
For many communities, this year will be worse than last.
Those ICUs are also filling with younger patients, in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, including many with no underlying health problems.
the 30- and 40-something COVID-19 patients they’re now seeing are much sicker than those they saw last year.
“That age group did get COVID before, but they didn’t usually end up in the ICU like they are now,”

Do you know there are a number of people who cannot get vaccinated that wish they could?
So its tough for them that others are hell bent on sharing their viral ridden air with the rest of us.

Influential Ivermectin Study Accused of 'Totally Faked' Data
"The efficacy of a drug being promoted by rightwing figures worldwide for treating Covid-19 is in serious doubt," reports the Guardian, "after a major study suggesting the treatment is effective against the virus was withdrawn due to 'ethical concerns' (https://www.theguardian.com/science/2021/jul/16/huge-study-supporting-ivermectin-as-covid-treatment-withdrawn-over-ethical-concerns)." The preprint study on the efficacy and safety of ivermectin — a drug used against parasites such as worms and headlice — in treating Covid-19, led by Dr Ahmed Elgazzar from Benha University in Egypt, was published on the Research Square website in November. It claimed to be a randomised control trial, a type of study crucial in medicine because it is considered to provide the most reliable evidence on the effectiveness of interventions due to the minimal risk of confounding factors influencing the results...
A medical student in London, Jack Lawrence, was among the first to identify serious concerns about the paper (https://grftr.news/why-was-a-major-study-on-ivermectin-for-covid-19-just-retracted), leading to the retraction... He found the introduction section of the paper appeared to have been almost entirely plagiarised. It appeared that the authors had run entire paragraphs from press releases and websites about ivermectin and Covid-19 through a thesaurus to change key words. "Humorously, this led to them changing 'severe acute respiratory syndrome' to 'extreme intense respiratory syndrome' on one occasion," Lawrence said.
The data also looked suspicious to Lawrence... "In their paper, the authors claim that four out of 100 patients died in their standard treatment group for mild and moderate Covid-19," Lawrence said. "According to the original data, the number was 0, the same as the ivermectin treatment group. In their ivermectin treatment group for severe Covid-19, the authors claim two patients died, but the number in their raw data is four..." Lawrence contacted an Australian chronic disease epidemiologist from the University of Wollongong, Gideon Meyerowitz-Katz, and a data analyst affiliated with Linnaeus University in Sweden who reviews scientific papers for errors (https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2018/02/meet-data-thugs-out-expose-shoddy-and-questionable-research), Nick Brown, for help analysing the data and study results more thoroughly... "The main error is that at least 79 of the patient records are obvious clones of other records," Brown told the Guardian. "It's certainly the hardest to explain away as innocent error, especially since the clones aren't even pure copies. There are signs that they have tried to change one or two fields to make them look more natural..."
Meyerowitz-Katz told the Guardian that "this is one of the biggest ivermectin studies out there", and it appeared to him the data was "just totally faked".
Meta-analyses relying on the "just totally faked" data were then published in Oxford Academic's Open Forum Infectious Diseases and in the American Journal of Therapeutics.
Meanwhile, the Guardian also notes a new (and peer-reviewed) paper that was just published last month in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases (https://academic.oup.com/cid/advance-article/doi/10.1093/cid/ciab591/6310839). Its finding? Iermectin is "not a viable option to treat COVID-19 patients".

No. We vaccinate to protect the individual.:rolleyes
Vaccines lower your chance of spreading disease.
Some people in your family or community may not be able to get certain vaccines due to their age or health condition. They rely on you to help prevent the spread of disease. Infants, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems (like those undergoing cancer treatment) are especially vulnerable to infectious disease. For example, newborn babies are too young to be vaccinated against whooping cough. Unfortunately, whooping cough can be very dangerous or even deadly for them. Pregnant women should get the Tdap vaccine during every pregnancy to help protect their babies fromw hooping cough. Anyone who is around babies should be up to date with their whooping cough vaccine.

No. We vaccinate to protect the individual.
So you're saying people should get vaccinated to protect those who refuse to get vaccinated.
Biggest news topic in the world for the past 6 months and you fucking idiots still don't know how this shit works.

Just wonder if this is the variant that's going to blow up and infect us all. Doesn't seem like we'll ever go back to masks and avoiding crowded indoor spaces again after having a ~3 months where it was safe.

Goddamn you're stupid.
So people get vaccinated for evolution.
NO.
Populations that get fully vaccinated help prevent the rise of variants ya fkn moron.
You are mixing individuals with populations which makes sense as you have not a fkn clue how evolution and variant species arise.
An Individual does not evolve, POPULATIONS evolve.
The more individuals in a population that do not harbor and let the virus reproduce and mutate with in them, its over.

When liberals die from disease or weather it's God punishing the wicked.
When conservatives die from disease or weather disaster it's God's plan.
Here's to God having a plan. :toast

Many have argued that SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and its mRNA sequence, found in all COVID-19 vaccines, are priongenic. The UK’s Yellow Card database of COVID-19 vaccine adverse event reports was evaluated for signals consistent with a pending epidemic of COVID vaccine induced prion disease. Adverse event reaction rates from AstraZeneca’s vaccine were compared to adverse event rates for Pfizer’s COVID vaccines. The vaccines employ different technologies allowing for potential differences in adverse event rates but allowing each to serve as a control group for the other. The analysis showed a highly statistically significant and clinically relevant (2.6-fold) increase in Parkinson’s disease, a prion disease, in the AstraZeneca adverse reaction reports compared to the Pfizer vaccine adverse reaction reports (p= 0.000024). These results are consistent with monkey toxicity studies showing infection with SARS-CoV-2 results in Lewy Body formation. The findings suggest that regulatory approval, even under an emergency use authorization, for COVID vaccines was premature and that widespread use should be halted until full long term safety studies evaluating prion toxicity has been complete. Alternative vaccines like the Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR) vaccine should be explored for those desiring immunization against COVID-19.

And he references the work from Nigh and Seneff in it (reference #7), which should more or less make it automatically suspect.
But, let's wait for the peer review. Anybody can publish a paper, passing scrutiny is a different thing.
