vaccines do significantly prevent infection, just not totally. you are less likely to test positive for covid after having been vaccinated. that's a fact. they're not 100% foolproof at preventing infection, but they do significantly help in that department. basically you already have antibodies ready to go to attack the viral cells after you've been exposed to it, and prevent you from reaching the point where you would test positive. sometimes, particularly where the viral load is higher, even those antibodies from the vaccine aren't quite enough and you still end up testing positive and potentially develop symptoms

even IF you are one of those breakthrough cases, the vaccine also helps prevent you from developing more serious symptoms or death.

both of these things are true. the vaccine isn't 100% effective in either category, but its a hell of a lot better than being unvaccinated

And preventing infection... thats a stupid little point you like to hold. The vaccine is very good at preventing infections from leading to bad symptoms characterizing the disease and also does a good job of preventing the vaccinated individual from producing viable virus. IN other words, the vaccine is working AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO.

Its well over 90% even now because it is now coming back to the vaccinated who already have immune systems that dont work well. Good thing you just throw in SF. You want me to find a city with 100% unvaccinated, it can be done?
