There is no trick to the spike in India. Kumbh Mela has been going on for 2 1/2 weeks. They just stopped because some of the leader died.

Have millions of people pack together to do this and then blame it on the "strain".

https://img-s-msn-com.akamaized.net/tenant/amp/entityid/BB1fAiuy.img?h=1080&w=1920&m=6&q=60&o=f&l=fthat's part of it. another part of it is India deciding all on its own that it had already beaten COVID and unclenching too soon.

Dr. Ozlem Tureci, co-founder and CMO of BioNTech, which developed a Covid vaccine with Pfizer, said she also expects people will need to get vaccinated against the coronavirus annually, like for the seasonal flu. That’s because, she said, scientists expect vaccine-induced immunity against the virus will decrease over time.

I'm sure that's what they'll prefer, but it's going to largely depend on the prevalence of the virus at that point in time.

I can see it being recommended for elderly people, for example, much like the flu vaccine.

Aren't we already doing this with other vaccines that people routinely take? DTaP and MMR come to mind. Not seeing the concern here.

SnakeBoy
04-22-2021, 01:55 PM
why

I wouldn't choose an mrna influenza vaccine over an attenuated/inactivated influenza virus vaccine.

If the live attenuated virus covid vaccine gets approved (Covi-Vac), I'll pick that over the mRNA/viral vector vaccines. Then I won't need to worry about getting an annual covid vaccine for the rest of my life. Just a few times.

Aren't we already doing this with other vaccines that people routinely take? DTaP and MMR come to mind. Not seeing the concern here.

None of those are annual viruses/vaccines and none of them are mRNA.

Millions Are Skipping Their Second Doses of Covid Vaccines

Nearly 8 percent of those who got initial Pfizer or Moderna shots missed their second doses. State officials want to prevent the numbers from rising.

More than five million people, or nearly 8 percent of those who got a first shot of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, have missed their second doses,

local health authorities are confronting an emerging challenge of ensuring that those who do get inoculated are doing so fully.

The reasons vary for why people are missing their second shots.

In interviews, some said they feared the side effects, which can include flulike symptoms.

Others said they felt that they were sufficiently protected with a single shot.

A number of vaccine providers have canceled second-dose appointments because they ran out of supply or didn’t have the right brand in stock.

Several Walgreens customers said in interviews that they scrambled, in some cases with help from pharmacy staff, to find somewhere to get the correct second dose.

Others, presumably, simply gave up.

the peril of people skipping their second doses.

Compared with the two-dose regimen,

a single shot triggers a weaker immune response and may leave recipients more susceptible to dangerous virus variants.

And even though a single dose provides partial protection against Covid, it’s not clear how long that protection will last.

“I’m very worried, because you need that second dose,”

Correct. Thats why its sensible to wait a year on these experimental vaccines.

1. Sputnik.V

3. Pfizer

Approx 85M so far, in all likelihood.

(take 550k dead divided by the best guess fatality rate of .0066)

Fatality rate will fall as vaccinations go up, so each new fatality will indicate more and more infections. That will make that calc a lot harder as time goes by.

It will simply become another yearly shot most of us will have to get, like the flu.

Turks will be required to stay mostly at home under a nationwide “full lockdown” starting on Thursday and lasting until May 17 to curb a surge in coronavirus infections and deaths, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced.
Turkey logged 37,312 new COVID-19 infections and 353 deaths in the previous 24 hours on Monday, health ministry data showed, sharply down from mid-April but still the world’s fourth highest number of cases.

A study published in the journal Cardiovascular Research detailed the extent of the tragedy in 2015, the most recent year where such detailed comparisons are available. The study put excess mortality attributable to ambient air pollution at nearly 8.8 million globally, of which nearly 6.5 million were in Asia.

Vaccinated adults “may be transmitting something from their bodies” that could be impacting the “reproductive systems, fertility, and normal growth and development in women and children,”

“Even among our own population, we have at least three women with menstrual cycles impacted after having spent time with a vaccinated person.”

Those who have already been vaccinated will not be allowed to return to the classroom or be near the students.

The last adm made masks and vaccinations a political statement.
Which was MUCH more harmful. Look at your red team members on this site that still adhere to the political statement.
And you get to claim your freedom from masks, like this was the biggest problem the disease caused? This is derp like.

Pretty much laid out in first 40 seconds of this videoSame fashion as the FDA link, "available, approved, adequate." It's not at all clear that Ivermectin is "adequate," despite your superlatives. Nor is it clear that -- had Ivermectin been found "adequate" -- EUAs for vaccines would have been impossible. At the end of the day, the FDA gets to decide what its regulations mean and how to apply them.

The proposition that Ivermectin could have undermined EUAs for vaccines seems outlandish next to the 2020 US death toll. It's also very doubtful that it would have been politically tolerated, by Trump or anyone else.

All the ivermectin studies are badly flawed

Remdesivir was authorized and called the standard of care based on an very good NIH study that clearly demonstrated it does not work :lol

I think it's clear by now that the NIH has no interest in cheap generic therapeutics but that doesn't mean that bad ivermectin studies are good.

In India right now...

“Out of every 10 Covid patients, four of them come up to hospitals after venturing with one or two of the medicines used in the treatment of Covid. All these medicines should be taken in the hospital settings, under a trained physician. We have seen that people mostly self-prescribe ivermectin and doxycycline,” said Dr Yatin Mehta, chairman, critical care department at Medanta Hospital, Gurugram.

Do Covid-19 Vaccines Prevent Infection And Transmission?

three to four weeks after the first dose the incidence of asymptomatic infections (people who tested positive but experienced no symptoms of the disease) was reduced by 52% when compared to the control population,

This reduction in the number of infections rose to 90% as early as seven days after the second dose.

This means that one week after the last inoculation, a person had ten times less risk of being unknowingly infected and potentially transmitting the virus.

two to three weeks after the first jab of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, protection against a symptomatic infection (disease with symptoms) was 57%, and

reached 74% regarding the risk of hospitalisation.

One week after the second injection, protection attained the excellent level of 92%, whether in terms of experiencing symptoms or being hospitalised.

All these studies highlight the necessary time period after each inoculation to acquire initial immunisation, and the importance of the second dose to gain full protection.

Do Covid-19 Vaccines Prevent Infection And Transmission?

three to four weeks after the first dose the incidence of asymptomatic infections (people who tested positive but experienced no symptoms of the disease) was reduced by 52% when compared to the control population,

That's not going to hold true. After vaccination antibodies rise high enough to block infection but they won't stay that high forever. You don't want them to. So a year (or whenever) from now antibody levels will drop and people will get infected then it will take a couple of days for your body to crank up antibodies again (memory b cells). So there will be a lot of asymptomatic infections. Eventually everybody gets "infected" with hopefully very little disease. No way around that.

then there needs to be some sort of massive air left of the stable vaccines and so much more required in their hospitals. it needs to be a worldwide effort. I am not a logistics effort but their airports should have loads of incoming and outgoing flights with supplies.
we should have people on the ground helping with temporary hospitals and anything else they need. this is where worldwide organizations like the UN and who become so important.

There are more immediate needs to save lives of the already infected and a massive vaccine efforts. I have no idea how to get this done but it needs to be done.

Top 4 reasons:

1. Very strict vaccine authorization laws
2. Like u said, they are not allowed to do drive thru or mass vaccination centers (cvs, etc)
3. Has high vaccine hesitant population
4. No raging inferno (uncontrolled spread)
